Had a good time! Happy hour is before 6p, and the glasses are half off (small pour). The service was awesome and everyone was so friendly. It is recommended to book a reservation cause it fills up after 6p. I had the special lobster bisque and it was so good! Server offered bread and it was so good and warm. The calamari was awesome! My wife ordered a pasta dish and it was delicious!

I stopped in for a happy hour, and discovered a great new place on Memorial Drive. This is a wine bar that also has beer and the food is quite exceptional. It's a small place that is run personally by the owner. He was ever present walking around making sure everyone had what they needed and giving suggestions about wine. This is our kind of place and we will definitely be back and I will take some photos next time.

The service was really good and personal. They let me try several wines to help me select. The salmon dish was excellent.

My wife and I have eaten here a few times and have enjoyed each visit. We’ve been in for wine and appetizers and 3 course meals, and have yet to leave unhappy. We chatted with the owner and learned that he tastes and chooses each wine on the list. Taste, hospitality, and quality are in no shortage at Bacaro!

Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary last weekend. Wonderful food, great service, and a cozy atmosphere. The caprese salad and salmon were delicious! Great selection of wine. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We had a fabulous experience! The food came out piping hot and had amazing flavor. I ordered salmon and shrimp and subbed in veggies for a healthy option, and it was cooked perfectly and packed a lot of flavor. The veal which was also ordered at my table looked incredible. Great service too! Even though we’re not in the neighborhood, we will definitely be going back.

I had an event at Bacaro and the team, especially Bill, the owner, was so wonderful through the entire planning process and the day of the event! My guests enjoyed it very much! The pear and pecan salad is amazing, the chicken piccata, and the bolognese so fresh! Try the cheesecake and the chocolate mouse cake, both delicious and the portion is very generous! The place is cozy and a must visit!

This is a gem of a Italian restaurant. I believe it is family owned and operated. The service was excellent. The staff were very attentive. The food was great. The starters, specially the octopus was delicious. My pasta main course was perfectly cooked. Over all I was really surprised at how excellent this restaurant was. Highly recommend, specially when to are storing a family business.

I was getting some work done at the coffee shop next door but when they closed, I decided it was wine o’clock. I came in around 5pm on a Friday evening and only a few tables were occupied. It didn’t matter either way for me because I was solo and I like sitting at the bar. Speaking of the bar, the left side has lower seating. It seemed more people preferred the higher seating on the right so keep that in mind. They filled pretty quickly. In fact, the place began filling up around 6-630. Make reservations. The interior is beautiful. Very clean and well appointed. Much more than I expected from a strip mall place that really doesn’t give much curb appeal. It’s somewhere between upscale wine bar and casual eatery. From what I hear, they’ve only been open 3 years but have a lot of repeat customers. It’s a family business and Bill and his family are lovely. They make a point to ask everyones names and have conversations. The family are travelers, having previously lived in Haiti. I naturally gravitate toward people who are worldly. It probably attributes to their empathetic, nature. I’ll definitely return!

Industry perks! I came in to do happy hour and see my friend at work. The rep was here, so I got to do a little Italian wine tasting!! Barbera, Sangiovese, and a Super Tuscan!! The bar's ambience is very beautiful, and they have a generous wine list❤ I'm trying many different courses to pair with the wine right now, and so far everything is delectable😍💕

I had an amazing experience at Bacaro! The food was absolutely delicious, with flavors that exceeded my expectations. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and fast. The ambiance was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a special occasion. I started coming to Bacaro a few years ago and just realized that I had never left a review. This is a family run business and they really give me the attention that I like a a customer. Their food selection is perfectly balanced. I highly recommend their charcuterie board and pastas. They have a great wine selection as well as delectable desserts. Support local businesses - especially when they're this awesome!!!!!

Came here last night while on a work trip. Sat at the bar and was immediately greeted and serviced. Got to meet Bill and he took care of me and my food choices. I had the lasagna which is one of my all time favorite foods and it was so delicious, perfect amount of cheese and seasoning. The rest of the menu looked good too and I am sure I will be back on my next trip. They also have an extensive and impressive wine list with a good variety offered by the glass. I highly recommend trying this restaurant if you haven’t yet.

Tonight we had the most wonderful celebratory meal. We were celebrating a purchase of a house an hour away, and were kind of sad that we only just found this place. It was amazing. Great wine, Port with dessert is a must. I had the Bolognese and he had the Lasagna. It's hard to say which was better, but I think Maria's Lasagna won the who had the better plate. We ordered way too much food but wanted to try everything. We have one more night in town and it happens to be the kick off to Houston Restaurant Week #HRW. This is a must try!

This was our first visit to Bacarro. The food was super satisfying. Just the right flavors tenderness portions. We had appetizers large meals, and salads, bread, and desserts and enjoyed every bite. The service was very appropriate and attentive and friendly without being intrusive at all. When you go ask to sit with Monserrat, you will love her smile. I can’t specifically recommend anything because everything was so good. I look forward to trying all of the menu.

5 star food, wine🍷, and 5 stars on mood settings. Phenomenal place, maybe "It Was" the wine 😉. I believe they just started opening up for lunch on Thurs & Fridays. We got lucky cause no one was around, but what was popping was the Bacaro Playlist. It was on point. We kept it a light lunch by having the charcuterie board, a side order of bread, the mushroom soup (magnificent), and, of course, the wine. The service & atmosphere were amazing. We really had a very relaxing time. Thank you, Barcaro, for a good experience. Did I mention how great the soup was... 🍲 Yum 😋 😍 😊

Had a solo meal here at the bar while my family were out of town, and the experience was lovely. Maria one the owners was very friendly and provided great service and chat (as did husband and son). Food was great (had lasagna and a salad). Nice to find a quality family run, non chain (I assume) restaurant.

Nice little hidden gem near the memorial/energy corridor area! The atmosphere is pretty laid back, the knowledgeable staff are friendly and courteous, and the food is delicious. Had such a lovely family dinner here Friday night! We were there quite early but the place filled up very quickly so I think you definitely would want to make a reservation if possible. The octopus starter was amazing! So tender and perfectly seasoned. Same for the calamari. Highly recommend those two! The chicken piccata was also so delicious. Really enjoyed it! The server “Sam” was so helpful and nice! My son kept asking him how he caught the octopus and he played along with the whole story which was very kind! Looking forward to next time already!

Pretty wine bar with a family friendly feel. This place is very small, but with that comes the intimate atmosphere. They have a decent sized patio right off the front entrance of the restaurant. When you enter the doors of the restaurant, you are immediately inside the dining area with the L shaped bar a few steps from the door. Like I said, it is very small. I chose this place because a friend of mine raved about it and I knew they would have the Astros game on that particular day. We sat at the bar and even though it was a post season game, they did not have the audio playing. My friend and I shared the Risotto and a small basket of bread with butter. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine each and called it a night, for there anyway. It was imperative we get somewhere with audio to hear the game. I figured the noise of the game would take away from their finer ambiance. Completely understandable. I will definitely go back to try some additional dishes. The tables have linen napkins, for that finer touch. Everyone was welcoming and from what I gathered, seemed to be "regulars". At the bar area, you only have a choice of 10-12 seats maximum, but the people made room for us upon entering. I add this detail to show the accommodating energy. That's a huge plus for me. I don't like snooty places. I would classify this establishment as slightly upscale with a comfortable vibe. In other words, jeans and shorts are fine, but your check will not reflect jeans and shorts. I hope that makes sense. The small Risotto and 4 glasses of wine was $73.86 before tip. For the service, quality and atmosphere, it was worth it. Thanks to the staff for welcoming us newcomers! We will return and check out that patio in the next few weeks of gorgeous weather we hope to have coming!

This place was amazing. The atmosphere is quite charming, it is intimate but not cramped, and the style of the lights is very classy. The service was exceptional. Our mussels were delicious in the marinara sauce and was a good portion to share as an appetizer. The charcuterie board had a great selection and the cheeses were inventive and delicious. All in all I highly recommend this place. They've recently started up a Sunday brunch and I'm planning on visiting again for that.

We live in Fort Worth, yet were in town for the weekend soccer conference at the Omni. Found this place on OpenTable. We're immediately shown to our seats. This place has a very solid wine menu at very decent prices. Everything was incredible: the meatballs, calamari, Tuta di Maré, flounder special, and shared three desserts. Two solid bottles of wine... a Barbaresco and Brunello. Service was absolutely incredible. If this place was down the street, we would probably be broke. This is truly a gem in the Memorial area. Really impressed with the food

Wife and I found this place via OpenTable and we couldn’t be happier. This local gem is kind of tucked away in a shopping center, so you may not really notice it being there. Restaurant boasts a small patio, bar area (wine and beer only), and (guesstimate) around 30 or so tables. Fare is mix of Italian and American Steakhouse. Wife and I were in the mood for a steak and they did not disappoint. Steaks were cooked very well and had lots of flavor. The Au Gratin potatoes were fantastic! Considering how good the steak was, I’m sure we will be back in to try the Italian fare. Go in confidence!

An absolute amazing experience. If you love Italian food and you aren’t running to Bacaro’s, I don’t know what you are doing with your lives children. Best meatballs, salmon cooked to perfection, and the desserts are to die far. Fell in love with their orange zest cannoli. The wine selection was amazing. 12/13/25 Sat night 7:30 pm my girlfriend and I went there but hadn't been for a long time and it was excellent! :-) We both had the Filet steak dinner and it was one of the best I've every had. Food was delicious. Restaurant is clean but has a traditional feel. Vintage chandeliers, old-style tables and chairs. Honestly not the kind of ambiance I prefer. But apart from the look/style that’s not appealing, the food is 9/10. The owner was so polite and recommended a perfect bottle of wine. The service is a 9/10.

I expected a bit more based on all of the other reviews. This is your basic local Italian restaurant. There’s really nothing special about it except possibly the Pistachio gelato. I did enjoy the Chicken Parmigiana however my dining companion did not like the Hanger Steak. Stick to the basics here and you’ll do fine.

I gave a 2 star because of service. A friend and I were in town for one night and was looking to get dressed and go to a nice restaurant. The latest reservation was 845p so we reserved that. The restaurant closed at 9p. We arrived exactly 845p. There were 3 tables occupied by other guest when we arrived. From the moment we arrived we felt as though we were being rushed. The 1st thing the waitress said to us was "The restaurant closes at 9p so if I could just hurry and take your order I can get it in fast". My issue is why take an 845p reservation if you are going to rush your guest. The while time we were made to feel like we needed to rush. In the end we asked to have our desert to go and to have our dinner wrapped to go. The waitress came to get our plates so that she could pack the food to go. She grabbed both plates and the bread plates. She placed the bread plate on top of the plate with my friends food on it which was alarming. The plate was on the table and she placed it on top of food that she was about to pack to go. Then she packed all of the food in a very small container so that all of it was just mushed together. Everything was just done in a rush. Even at one point the waitress asked if we want the check but the way it was said and the urgency in her voice was just rushed. It was not an inviting experience at all. To add insult to injury the bill was paid in cash with a $100 bill. When we got in the car to leave we could see all of the waitresses and we assume the manager passing the bill around to each other and holding it up to the light. That is understandable in most establishments (a 100 bill being held up) but the mere fact that it was passed around to multiple people is also just in poor taste. It's sad because the food was in fact very good. The service was just so poor that I would not recommend to anyone new in town and looking for a nice night out. Suggestion to management...please do not take late reservations if you plan to rush your guests. Also, the waitresses are young which is not the issue...I say that only because maybe training in food business and proper etiquette is needed.

Let me preface by saying the food is amazing. Some of the best Italian I have had in a long time. Restaurant is small and quaint. My sister and I drove to Houston for a quick getaway. We looked for a nice restaurant to have dinner near our hotel. This restaurant had great reviews so we decided why not. So we made reservations. Upon arrival the hostess was nice and sat us quickly. The restaurant was empty. There were 3 other tables that were occupied. The server (unfortunately I did not get her name) was very dry. She didn’t even bother to greet us and ask us how we were doing. She was very flat seems as though our presence was bothersome. The first thing she asked us was ”do yall want any wine?” We both replied no thank you. She then proceeded with “the kitchen is closing in 15 minutes so I’ll need to get your orders” We already had an idea of what we wanted since we viewed the menu before arriving. The restaurant was dimly lit. A nice ambience. Another server noticed my sister and I taking pictures and she stopped and asked if we wanted her to take a picture for us. She was very polite and personable and even made small talk. Once she took our picture my sister asked if we could have the candle on our table lit. We just wanted to experience the entire ambience the other patrons were experiencing. Another server possibly the bartender came over to light the candle. We both thanked her for doing so and she did not respond nor acknowledge us. We requested that our dessert be made to go because we felt rushed. We also requested to go boxes for our food. The server responded sharply with “I’ll box it up once you’re done” and walked off. She never returned to the table to check on us until we were ready to leave. As she is collecting our plates to have the food boxed up and she places the bread plate on top of my food that was needing to be boxed. Disgusting!! Once she returned to our table with the food that was boxed and literally threw the containers in the paper bag along with our desserts. Mind you, we might have taken 5-7 bites of our food so we had plenty left over. The picture attached shows how our food was boxed. I would have thought she would have boxed it in a larger container instead of the container used. There were 2 other tables that were there still conversing and they were not being rushed out. She very rudely asked “do you want the check now?” By this time, we have had enough of feeling as though we were not welcome. She placed the check on the table and we left a 100.00 bill in the sleeve and left the restaurant. All and all even with the horrible service, we still left a tip just to get in the car to see her and the other 4 employees passing the bill around and taking turns holding the bill up to the light to validate the bill was real. I never expected to receive this type of service from an upscale restaurant. Aside from that, if the kitchen closed at 9 then perhaps you shouldn’t take an 8:45 reservation. I expected more from a fine dining establishment. If the restaurant describes themselves as being an “upscale” establishment then there should be a level of service that is expected. Save yourselves the headache, do NOT go to this establishment unless you like being treated poorly and rushed. It’s really unfortunate because the food was truly amazing but the experience? Horrible!
