Great brunch food. We enjoyed the heaping avocado toast with perfectly poached eggs and the soft, folded scrambled eggs with the delicious gravlax. We finished off with delicious croissants and a kouign amann. The patio was beautiful and service was very attentive. Our favorite place in a week of eating out on our trip!
We found Le Perche while looking for another breakfast restaurant. I'm so glad we found Le Perche. Amazing food (not pictured was the almond croissant one of the best ever). Fantastic staff and super comfortable surroundings. We were recently in Paris, and Le Perche took us back to our trip a few months ago. Highly recommend it to everyone. We will be back.
A special breakfast treat for these two out-of-towners ~ arrive right when they open for a quiet, all-to-yourself experience. The interior is just as enjoyable as the delicious food. Portions are European sizes (normal human portions, as opposed to American massive portions) so come prepared in the right mindset. 😉
Sooooo incredibly busy and for good reason. Delicious breakfast and one of the best chocolate croissant/latte combos I’d ever had. I sat at the counter where I was able to be seated immediately. Great experience really, you’re right in the middle of it all which may not be for some. Would absolutely stop in again on another visit to Hudson.
It was our first time eating out in Hudson area and had a great time! Our server was wonderful above and beyond—kind, attentive, answered all of our questions about the menu & ingredients with ease. We ordered the corn soup (sadly no photos!) which really hit the spot on a slightly chilly morning. Very creamy with little heat. It was our favorite out of the three dishes we ordered. Avocado toast may had a whole avocado piled on top which was nice, but personally would recommend trying something else (for the price) if you are looking for something different :) They had some good french pastries too. We picked some up to go and very much enjoyed them.
Amazing French toast and croque madam sandwich. Service was great.
Super delicious breakfast dishes. The Tuscan Kale Pesto was amazing. Very friendly servers too. Focaccia was awesome. Pain au chocolat also. Highly recommended!
Had a wonderful brunch, staff was extremely attentive despite the restaurant being very busy. The french toast was the best I have ever had, and the croque madame was fantastic too. After brunch we got some items from the bakery which were just as amazing. Overall was a wonderful experience and I hope to come back soon!
Best brunch in Hudson. Every single dish is unique and perfectly executed. Worth the 2.5 hour drive from manhattan. Great baked good to take home.
No joke, the best short rib hash I’ve ever had in my life. Croque madame was delicious as well. All served in a bright, sophisticated atmosphere. We will be back
Delicious food, really great place.crowded, all the time, reservations for sure, but would definitely go back.Love the area just walking around to walk off all that delicious food is a plus.
Returning this year for my partner's birthday and subsequent visits I can really say that the Staff and Food is of a glorious quality and the beautiful outdoor patio. When you don't want to eat in a diner she's here I love the place the food is way above average with some beautifully prepared dishes and legendary baked goods.
My gf and I shared the French toast and crispy chicken sandwich. The French toast is one THICK piece of bread and has a soft internal consistency. The chicken sandwich was delicious and would definitely get it again. We also ordered two americanos and the coffee was top notch.
Really nice space, I loved being near the fireplace. The service was excellent - kind, attentive and professional. The brunch we had was good, some loved it. The croissants were super flaky, crusty and buttery but not so generous on the filling but delicious anyway. The coffee is geared for those who prefer a very mild blend.
La Perche is wonderful: a gorgeous room with comfortable seating -- plus a lovely courtyard! -- and warm, attentive service. The food was creative and delicious, centering vegetables like corn and beets in new ways and making dishes like shakshuka shine with lamb meatballs. Plus earthy breads and heavenly croissants and salt-encrusted focaccia. We'll be back!
Wow! Love this cute little cafe. It’s so great and cute inside. I love the croissants !!
We loved our breakfast here - the farmer's sandwich was a perfectly baked roll with egg and ham. The short rib hash was also a winner. Grab one of the wonderful breads and pastries on your way out to keep the deliciousness coming after you get home.
The brioche French toast was one of the best brunch meals I have ever had. 10/10 recommend. Others in my party enjoyed their dishes also, so it's hard to go wrong.
The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. The restaurant had a unique, historic house aesthetic that I found very interesting. The outdoor seating was also very pleasant
Had a great weekend dinner here. Chose the pre-fixe, which was reasonably priced. Appetizer of french onion soup was decadent, followed by a bass filet which was prepared perfectly - firm and moist inside, crispy on the top. Desert was Paris Brest, which was fantastic (crispy and creamy are a winning combo). Can't wait to return for pastries and baked goods.
Had a great lunch here after touring Art OMI. Welcomed our party of 5 and fed us well. Accomodated our request for a baguette and butter for a starter . Sandwiches and the cobb salads(thursday special) were excellent, service was great. We left with a big bag of bread and would go back again tomorrow if we were in the area.
When in Hudson, Le Perch is a must do. Really great food and excellent breads. Been her for breakfast and lunch and have enjoyed both just a much. Whatever you do, get the bread, you won't regret it.
Had the short rib hash. Would highly recommend. Nice fire going in the dinning area. Staff was very nice and attentive.
Wonderfully prepared eggs and amazing vinaigrette dressing (with a hint of garlic) on my salad. Great place to relax, eat and ponder life’s beautiful mysteries!
Le Perche hands down in my opinion has the BEST baked goods in town. I usually drop in for Focaccia, almond croissants- AMAZING. Any baked good is worth the trip in.
Extremely delicious breakfast and excellent coffee - there aren't that many places in hudson that do full egg platters. I'd highly recommend the shakshuka. The staff gave us some leftover bread as they were closing - and entire loaf! That was very nice and we munched on it for our entire trip up north.
We rode our bikes to Hudson and stopped here for lunch! We were seated immediately in their outside garden space out back. It was a warm day and they had fans going making it comfortable. Our lunch was very delicious and well seasoned. Our server was wonderful and did a great job! Highly recommended!
Absolutely loved having a bachelorette brunch here! Food was beyond incredible and the pricing is very fair and reasonable. We all loved and obsessed over the focaccia bread. The staff were incredibly kind in that a friend lost her necklace and they called us saying they found it. Above and beyond service and staff- would highly recommend to anyone and everyone
I had an incredible experience at Le Perche in Hudson, NY! The customer service was exceptional – warm, friendly, and attentive. The interior of the bakery had such a charming, aesthetic vibe, making it the perfect place for a relaxed brunch. The food was absolutely delicious; I had a great cup of coffee and everything was perfectly crafted. I even took home some focaccia, which was just as amazing. The whole experience felt very traditional, yet modern in its own way. Highly recommend it for anyone in the area! Only suggestion would be to add a vegetarian sandwich.
On our driving trip to upstate NY and Mass last Sept, we found this nice place to have breakfast. Right on the main street so easy to find. We ordered omelets, fried eggs, bacon,- the usual breakfast stuff. Food came out fairly fast and was hot so we were happy. Coffee was also quite good. We will definitely stop here again the next time we are in Hudson.
Stopped here for a quick brunch last Sunday, having not eaten at Le Perche since the new ownership (5+ years). I was delighted by the whole experience. I sat at the very attractive bar and contemplated the many tempting options on the menu. Seriously, something for every palette, every mood. Avocado toast, Croque madame, poached eggs with a kale pesto, short rib hash. Many familiar favorites but each with its own special twist “de la maison”. My neighbor at the counter had the kale pesto and swore by it, but i decided on the charred Brussels Sprouts with tahini, chili vinaigrette and two fried eggs. It was perfect. Complex tastes, satisfying and filling. Holding a bit for dessert, and tempted by the bakery counter down at the end, I had an almond croissant and cafe latte and then walked out with a huge fresh baked olive loaf which would last me the week. Go here for brunch or lunch or for any takeaway breakfast treat. You won’t be disappointed.
The food was absolutely outstanding. The leeks in the croque madame were a really nice and delicate touch. The French Toast is unbelievable! The inside is so soft and custard like with a hint of lemon and vanilla. The curried lentils are really good too. The young lady helping us was very kind and sweet and made some great recommendations!
We booked Le Perche for our rehearsal dinner in October 2023 and we are so grateful to the staff for the most amazing event we could have asked for. The food was incredible; so many of our guests insisted on going back the same weekend just to eat their food again. The waitstaff was super attentive and met our every request. We were surprised and delighted to discover our rental included the entire back patio area, which is gorgeous and well heated. We didn't bring in any decor because I just couldn't be bothered, but it wouldn't have been necessary. The restaurant has a really beautiful understated elegance that I could not have enhanced. Again, the food was to die for. Huge shout out to Amy for being so responsive to my many emails and menu changes. Eat here!
We really enjoyed our brunch here on a Sunday morning. The service was great and the food was all delicious. It is definitely not a cheap brunch, but the portion sizes are good to help make up for it. Would recommend the French toast, especially if you have an appetite (we’ll be enjoying leftovers)!
Gorgeous space! Delicious food and delightful service. The servers go out of their way to make sure that their customer's experience is impeccable. The baked goods are amazing. They will give you a tour of their very unique bakery. I highly recommend their quiche and their pumpkin pie. The menu items are very creative and original and change often.
Visit: April 2021. We were passing through and after walking down the street, decided to get takeout here. The dining room was packed. I got soft scrambled eggs with eel. I think the mister for eggs benefit with confit and potatoes? Both were tasty and a good portion. There was a mixup with our order and thankfully we checked before driving out of town.
Honestly, we didn't have the best service when there, it was one server for the whole back patio and she was clearly overworked so I'm trying not to ding them unfairly for that. Still it did take a minute for anything to come our way which was a bit frustrating. On the food, everything was fine not stellar just decent. But the standout: at the end, our server gave us complimentary croissants and those croissants were divine!!!! So buttery and flaky, I highly recommend! I think maybe actually go here to try their baked goods because if the rest of the stuff is like the croissants then it's so worth it. I think the other food is mediocre to decent. I really liked their berry lemonade as well.
A lovely French cafe/restaurant. Charming bakery counter and retail shop with bar in the front. Walk pass the dining room is a covered garden. Hubby and I along w/ our fur baby had lunch here one day during our trip to Hudson. We had a table at their pet friendly garden, it was a bit too warm on a hot day. Excellent service and food was pretty good. I love the Potato & Leek Soup, and also enjoyed the Le Perche Croque Madame. My hubby’s Ham and Cheese Croissant was alright. The Rum Swizzle cocktail was refreshing.
Had a delicious breakfast and a wonderful experience. Service was just pleasant enough and not overbearingly so. While yes, a hot breakfast here plus the luxury side of toast and a round of coffee is going to run you upwards of $25, it's to be expected for brunch in a place like this (which is gorgeous, by the way). They have a really cute patio in the back, too, for a peaceful outdoor seating option away from the street. If you're looking for a simple and thoughtfully prepared breakfast or brunch, this is a good option.
A nice cozy French bistro with limited seats indoors, outdoor seatings under the tent has a nice vibe in this slight chilly day. Food was good, we had brunch so menu mostly has eggs in it. Duck confit hash was great, duck was cooked to perfection thrown in with potato hash. Spaghetti squash with prosciutto and egg is a light and refreshing option . Really liked the French onion soup, not too thick or strong, cooked to the right taste more like a broth consistency. The only downside was the service. Took a while to sit us even though we had a reservation and no one in the line before us. Table service was slow too, took a while to even get water on the table, asking for the tab took a long time too.
Food was delicious. The back room was very noisy. I would go back. Lots of menu items were based around eggs....
Excellent brunch, outside seating. Service was a bit slow but food was superlative. Omelet was perfectly cooked with a lovely selection of cheeses & lightly dressed greens on the side. French toast was amazing--big slice of sweet brioche-style bread & seasoned maple syrup. Definitely worth more time than we had to spend there!
This place has some of the best food I've ever had! Every dish we had was absolutely amazing! I cannot say enough good things about the food. I was disappointed in the service, though. The main waitress was rude and kept barking out orders at the other waitresses and saying rude things about the other customers, where we all could hear her. She brought the whole feeling of the restaurant down. Other than that, Le Perche is one of the cutest restaurants around with food that is out-of-this-world!
Lovely bakery and restaurant with outdoor space that would be really nice in warm weather. The host staff was very welcoming, but our server was equally aloof. Before we ordered the spinach and feta croissant, we asked if the spinach was cooked and she had no idea and couldn’t be bothered to find out - even though pastries are made in-house. Luckily, the croissant was delicious and we were happy we ordered it (spinach was cooked, btw). The French Onion Soup had a robust onion flavor, which we enjoyed. The Crab Fried Rice was surprisingly delicious as well. If our server wasn’t so indifferent, it would have been the perfect brunch.
We got up nice and early to make sure we got a seat for brunch. And glad we did. How could I not get the duck confit hash. Eggs were fried perfectly (see for yourself in the pics). Had to try the home made maple sage sausage and it was excellent. Wife went with the avocado 🥑 toast and we were shocked by the amount of avocado they served. Very generous. She opted for extra crispy bacon and I did snag a piece when she wasn’t looking. Very enjoyable. The coffee was ok. Nothing to run back die and the Bloody Mary was average. Nothing tastes great out of A plastic cup. We will be returning to get their bread service we heard great things about. And we also brought home some croissants to snack on by the fire in our Airbnb.
We were very thankful they took our group of 6 on a Sunday afternoon. We really enjoyed how lovely the building was and the outside space. The espresso drinks and hot chocolate were very good and the handcrafted mugs were a delight. The food was hit and miss. The spaghetti squash with eggs and the Croque Madame was very good and they were unique and refreshing items to offer. The egg sandwich was very small and plain without meat, for the price, and the poached egg that came with the avocado toast was brought to the table broken. The ham and cheese croissant was horrid. I thought at first it was wrapped in a brown bakery paper like a muffin, but it turned out that it was the ham, and the whole thing was hard as a rock. When asked why it wasn't eaten the person I was with said they thought maybe it was too stale to eat (due to the hardness) the server was a bit combative and said a little rudely that it was baked fresh that day. Whatever the case, it wasn't something she found edible. I know it's from the bakery section but I think that it might've been better if it could be warmed up somehow. The other issue was the time it took to get our food. It did seem that the orders went to the kitchen in the wrong order as many bigger groups who came in very long after us were served before us (and our server confirmed it.) The focaccia we ordered for the table never came out and when we asked where it was, we were told they were out. Which is fine, of course, but you should tell us straight away, don't make us have to ask. We ordered the sourdough in place of it which was also not warm and extra hard and not cut through all the way so we kind of struggled sharing it. Again all of these things are not the biggest deal but it is nice to have a server/restaurant who wants to make it better and feels at least somewhat apologetic. Take the uneaten item off of the bill without being asked, offer a little something in return for the added wait time, something, ya know? We know it isn't the server's fault if the kitchen forgot about us, but we didn't feel taken care of and it left the experience feeling pretty meh when we had started the day there pretty excited.
Bad experience, unfortunately. We have been here twice: a few years ago in the summer and today in the fall. Our first visit wasn't good, and this time we'd meant to go to Tanzy's across the street, which ended up being closed. We decided to give Le Perche another chance. The hostess was exhausted, grumpy, and had an attitude with several customers and coworkers. She even yelled at her coworkers behind the bar! I understand that job can be stressful, but she shouldn't be placed at the front if she can't at least pretend to be pleasant and polite. When we entered, she appeared annoyed we had no reservation, though there were empty tables. Once we sat, we noticed the hostess had a tone of annoyance with many customers who didn't have reservations, which didn't make sense as she was complaining about all the reservations that were no-shows. The rest of the staff appeared exhausted/yawning often but were polite. Our table in front was loud due to noise behind the coffee bar and cold since people kept leaving the door open. Our meals took almost an hour to get to us (around 12-1 on a Sunday). Food was on the expensive side and not worth it. Portions felt small, and taste was average to a little below average (breads were all way too dry). Someone ordered a baguette and wasn't told until after it came that they were out of jam. Croissant with chocolate had dry bread that wasn't soft enough with a tiny bar of chocolate in the center, which was hard rather than melted/warmed. There were a few bees flying around inside behind our table and that landed on the plates a couple of times. Not a huge deal, but it's the combination of all of the above that ruined our visit to Le Perche.
Staff are friendly and attentive. Food is average. It is much more like American cuisune rather than French cuisine. Menu doesn't offer a lot of choice.
Good food, amazing looking and tasting French toast, lovely ambiance with covered outdoor seating. The service was subpar for a restaurant this quality and price point. Wait staff never smiled at us once, cold reception during entire meal. We asked for bread three times from two different waiters. When we checked with our waitress for the bread, she went on a tirade about how the ordering system worked in quite a condescending tone to my hubby. Frankly left a bad taste for the whole experience. Too bad. We had really wanted to like the place.
Brunch was not bad, different. I liked the Curried Lentil with poached eggs, but it was undercooked, as they rushed to bring my dish out while everyone else was halfway done with their food. The croissants were definitely not fresh and hard to separate to eat; kinda disappointed as it is a French spot.
I stopped in for a chocolate croissant, based on the positive reviews. What I received was over-baked, scant on chocolate, and was so chewy I had to aggressively tear it away. Not at all what I would expect from a French croissant. I’ve had better from a grocery store. The service was good, hence the rating.
Nice location, but my sandwhich was quite dry and the waitress, I think she may have been the manager, was standoffish.
Hostess was quite rude, unfriendly, and acted as though we were inconveniencing her with our presence- needs basic costumer service training. The host sets the tone for the experience and the first and second impression was below par- not impressed. Our waitress was lovely.
Came here with 3 friends. We ordered the shakshuka, short ribs, and omelette. None of it was flavorful (short ribs were the worst - I don't even know how you cook short ribs with so little flavor). The coffee was really weak and the flat white was not drinkable. The baguette isn't crunchy and the croissants are very dense. The fries were the best thing, but not worth coming here for. Our server forgot to put in a dish (mistakes happen), but she apologized and gave us two croissants. This is going on my "do not go" list. Very disappointing
Really nice ambience and the server was just lovely. Kitchen lets the place down, every dish was bland and even coffee was a stretch for them to do properly.
We were here for lunch. The entire place if so hot. There is no air con, no fan. Not fun while trying to eat food in the summer. The duck confit had very little duck in it and the potatoes were kind of burnt. You expect more when you pay top dollar for an entree. The service was nice. The drinks were good.
The food was of good quality and met expectations; however, the service was notably below standard. Our party of six was seated at a table formed by combining three smaller ones, one of which had a broken tabletop separating from its base. When this was brought to the server’s attention, we were informed that they were aware of the issue but that no alternative could be provided, even though an unoccupied table was available nearby. Service throughout the meal was inconsistent. Our drinks were delivered in three separate rounds, with noticeable delays between each. A similar issue occurred with the food: all but one member of our group were served promptly, while the last dish was delayed due to a shortage of ingredients. Although the meal itself was enjoyable, the lack of attentiveness and organization significantly diminished the overall dining experience. In retrospect, the tip left was not reflective of the level of service received.
Came here on my trip to Hudson, NY on a Saturday afternoon. Here is my honest review: Unfortunately I have to start this review out with there was hair found in our Shakshouka dish. The servers just took it and replaced it fairly quick like nothing happened. (Think the staff should have addressed it a bit more) The short rib hash was just average and a bit on the dry side. Thankfully they had some hot sauce to add. Fried chicken was seasoned but not seasoned evenly (see photo) so not all bites were the same. Aside from the food, the actual restaurant looked nice with a sit down bar area in the front, the fireplace was nice in the inside and the outside seating looked nice as well.
Great atmosphere but food was not worth the price on the menu. Croque Madame was overcooked … crispy to the point of not being able to cut it with knife and fork. Brioche French toast had an exterior crust nearly impenetrable and the interior, which should have been custard-like, was dense and chewy. Not enough syrup. Maybe it was a tough day in the kitchen but quality needs to be better when you’re paying those prices. Manager was sweet, though, and took them off the bill.
1. We were seated at a table that was not wiped down. We requested to move. 2. Our server did not know what one of the menu items was. 3. I was not offered milk to cream for my coffee. When asked it was brought to the table. With something in it. 4. The server did not ask "is there anything else I can get you" nor did she check on us during our meal. 5. There was no salt/pepper on the table. 6. There was a hair in my wife's food. When she notified the manager, he did nothing - did not come to our table to apologize nor did he offer another dish. These are all restaurant basics. We both ordered the short rib hash. It was not flavorful and it was mostly potatoes. The short rib hash was certainly not worth $26. I do not recommend. We will not be going back.
Expensive and noisy place in a converted row house. Came here for brunch recently and it was packed. Too many barking dogs allowed in the dining area. Some off menu items include dog bite toast and a side of pomme de la rue on the floor. I’m not a fan of doggy bag cafes… Friendly wait staff, prompt service once seated. Standard brunch menu items of avocado toast and the like, also some more French haute cuisine options. Menu starts at Manhattan prices and up, not Upstate, like where Hudson is. The fresh bread is good, but the croissants and viennoiserie that I was looking forward to trying are nothing to write home about. Their joke of a kouign amann tasted more like a bland, tasteless, doughy, diet pastry made with margarine than anything that remotely resembles a Breton butter cake. Kouign amanns start with flour and water and are made with sugar, salt, and lots of butter. Their’s was lacking in all three. Also, the cafe workers were rude and need to learn some basic customer service skills. My transaction took about fifteen seconds once they reluctantly looked over at me and took my money for a croissant that wasn’t worth the money to begin with. Ridiculous. Overall, I wouldn’t come back. Too many pet dogs and too overpriced for being in Hudson. This isn’t Brooklyn. I realize many people are weekenders and bring their dogs as a plus one, but most of these are not service dogs. Go outside to the patio or leave your dogs home.
came on Valentine's day and got the tart (in picture) which was delicious but $28 and no bigger than my hand. there was no price tag online or in display and other prices seemed reasonable so my partner and I were shocked when our total for two very milky matchas and one tart was $43. more expensive than many other full meals available in this place or others
If you’re Asian, better to go to Swoon, their sister restaurant. The service is average, but at least the server won’t treat you differently than all the other people dining at the restaurant. Regarding the food, the menu is more limited than what is shown on their website, so don’t be surprised when you sit down. We had the Escargot on Corn Grits, Roasted Brussels Sprouts on Tahini, and pastries as our dessert. The escargot dish was delicious, but after five bites, it felt one noted. This dish would be more successful as a side dish than entree, unless you can share it around the table with 3-4 other people. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. It felt like a warm winter salad you don’t want to stop eating. The fries seemed to be wildly popular, every single table had them except for us. Skip the pastries and walk over to Breadfolks. The pastries were dry and very obviously not fresh. You deserve better.
$18 for French Onion soup? $22 for an omelet? Corned beef hash was okay, but it intent hash. Its large chunks of potatoes covering the beef made it difficult to find the beef. For $9 we ordered a banquette, which came out cold with even colder nearly frozen butter. Not sure who is going to dine here, it was empty, and the drinks are expensive. Brought my parents there for a special birthday, and won't be going back soon. Nearly $200 for three plates and $5 disgusting bloody Mary's. Money I'll never get back. It's too bad the other, more amazing and well priced French restaurant in town moved to Ghent. It was our intention in going to Hudson today. Only wealth people can dine here. Very limited breakfast options (3 I. Total). Buyer beware.
