The burger is excellent and cooked to medium as I ordered. The fries are crispy too! The stars of my visit - the staff!! As soon as I walked in, Raphael remembered me, gave me a place to sit and glass of water while I waited for takeout. He is excellent. Another younger man (maybe a bar back came over to see if he could help me. One of the hostesses asked if she could help. We chatted for a bit while I waited. But I could see her keeping an eye on the room as we talked The food can be good anywhere but when you have staff such as I saw tonight, it makes for an incredible experience.
We ate there for the first time last night. There is a perfect ocean view from the porch. The service was excellent. I had the salmon tacos which are on the appetizer menu but the perfect size for a meal. My husband had the pepperoni, ricotta, hot honey pizza- YUM!
Boathouse Bistro has the best GF and regular pizzas around! Seafood and really everything on the menu made with TLC! We’ve been customers for 10 years. They have always been so accommodating to me with food issues. Not every restaurant wants to take the time to make you feel like you matter. Boathouse does! Whether they have their liquor license (coming soon) or not, the service and food are outstanding!
Stayed at the hotel a few days and made my way to the boathouse bistro each day. The staff and food are as amazing as the views. Chicken piccata sandwich is a must have. Chicken marsala excellent dinner choice. You can never go wrong with a pizza. Truly outstanding restaurant 👏
Fabulous service, great food, and accessible location. The lobster mac and cheese was one of the best I have ever had and their calamari was a delight as well.
Love this place. Consistently great pizza! Wings and other apps are great. Entrees are very good and filling! Great bar.
I had a fantastic dining experience at a five-star restaurant. The service, atmosphere, and menu were all excellent. The chef's special was the highlight of my meal and the wine list was impressive. I highly recommend this exceptional restaurant.
Boathouse Bistro is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had on the South Shore. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with stunning views of the water that perfectly complement the elegant yet relaxed vibe. The food was outstanding — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The seafood pasta was a standout, and the homemade sauces tasted like something straight out of Italy. Every dish at our table was a hit, and the portion sizes were generous without being over the top. Service was top-notch as well — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The staff made us feel right at home and gave great recommendations. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Nantasket Beach, Boathouse Bistro is a must-try. Great food, beautiful setting, and excellent service — what more could you ask for?
We are staying at the Nantasket Beach resort and wanted takeout dinner after a long day at the beach. So glad we chose Boathouse Bistro for their Hot honey pepperoni pizza and their Fig prosciutto pizza! The kids even enjoyed the beet salad. Will definitely dine in next time. Service was quick and pizzas were so good! Thanks for the great meal.
As a long time patron, there is bias in my review - but that bias was earned by the care, dedication, quality and service delivered by Steve & Tinka and their team. The new location is a well deserved upgrade for this family-owned and operated gem on the south shore. Their pizza is made by a true artisan, and the rest of the food that comes out of the kitchen will please any palate. Ever had a chicken piccata sandwich? Neither did I until we stopped by for lunch last week. It's spectacular, just like the views from the dining room, bar or patio. There are plenty of gluten-free options (including pizza), which makes it a top spot for our family. My personal favorites are the eggplant rollatini, bistro scampi, calamari, house salad, piccata sandwich and the mushroom truffle pizza.
Hull is truly lucky to now have the wonderful Boathouse Bistro in Hull. The menu offers a lovelyes that are both reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, relaxed, and perfect for families, making everyone feel right at home. It’s a family-owned place that genuinely makes you feel like part of the family. variety of dish
Same amazing food and service as their previous location, but with some new delicious additions to the menu!!!! Couple of the new things I have had that I highly recommend are the Ahi Tuna Tartake, clam chowder and lobster roll. Can’t wait to try some of the new additions I haven’t and some of my favs from before like chicken parm, scampi, and piccata and so many more!!!!! And I love the new view!!!! If you haven’t gone yet, you are definitely missing out.
Boathouse Bistro, originally in Hingham, has been known for their family-like atmosphere where everyone knows your name! The new location in Hull makes this spot just a tad more special adding the amazing water view! The menu continues to showcase their known dishes with added highlights such as the lobster roll. You won’t be disappointed if you haven’t given this restauraunt a go.
Boathouse consistently serves up great food. We had a great lunch. So happy they are her in Hull, a great addition to our dining scene!
We had a lovely dinner here. The food was delicious, our waiter was super attentive and even made our very impatient 7 and 8 year old daughters happy.
Raquel and I had a wonderful experience. The views of the beach and ocean are beautiful, and our dinners were both delicious. Our server was attentive and on point.
first time and wonderful...great sevice, great food...great winter view inside, staff friendly and helpful...
Great restaurant food is always good. Dishes are made to order and everything is fresh. The pizza in my opinion is the best in Hingham. Owners are always on premises and very welcoming. There is outdoor seating during the Spring,Summer and Fall.
Mary and I went for the lunch. Everything was great. We will probably go there frequently.
Been dining here for years. The owners Steve and Tinka treat you like family. Drinks and food are both impeccable. Dining outside in the summer is lovely. It’s home away from home for us.
Delicious food. Great drinks. We'll be back!
They easily have the best pizza in Hingham, in particular, the plain old cheese and the buffalo chicken pizza are outstanding. They obviously have dedicated and friendly owners and staff that I see every time I show up. The only thing that hurts them is the location which can be cold in the middle of winter. I'd like to see some adjustments to the entrance to try to make it less drafty. With that being said, in the summer this turns to an asset and that you can have really good pizza by the water.
Ordered from the catering menu for an office party. The food was fabulous and the staff super accomodating and helpful. Top notch service. All of the food was great but the buffalo ckn mac & cheese was the stand out. Highly recommend.
This place was great. We went in not expecting much and were really blown away. The service was fast and good. The bus boy was so professional and well mannered, especially for such a young man. Our waitress made sure several times we had everything we needed. The food was great! Huge portions and very reasonably priced. We are both vegetarian and sometimes have issues finding food that we can eat, that isn't deep fried, in the south shore. Here there were several options. They even made us a special antipasto tray that had only vegetarian options. The pizza was great too - the cheese they use is amazing. We also got their mixed veggies platter and it was cooked to perfection. They also seemed to strictly follow all covid rules. We will definitely be going back!
Absolutely one of my favorite places to go their pizzas are amazing and their staff is absolutely outstanding great atmosphere fun people and their dinners are delicious!
We went at around 530 on a Sat night. We didn't know enough to make a reservation, but luckily found a spot at the bar. That was a great choice as we could watch the pizza master in action. He must have pushed out over 100 pizzas while we were watching. His cleanliness was more than impressive. He washed his hands in the sink between each order and cleaned his counter cloth under the sink with soap a lot! We ordered the Filet wrapped in prosciutto (mouth watering and amazing) I ordered the Buffalo Mac and cheese. The chef came out to get clarification on our special request of 'not so hot' buffalo seasoning. The only disappointment was the appetizer. (Eggplant Rotolini?) It was really dry and unfortunate because the tomato sauce that accompanied it packed an amazingly powerful flavor. A bit of puree or water added to the paste and poured over would have gone a long way. The drinks were great and the staff was very attentive. We will be back!
My co-workers and I found this place passing through on our way back from a funeral - hey, we were hungry! We were there at lunch time right about when they opened and wow, it was super good. I had a prosciutto, fig and arugula pizza, which my colleague ordered with a gluten free crust (home made gluten free by the way) and both of us thought it was phenomenal! The sandwiches and salads with homemade dressing that everyone else got were a hit too. I may never make it back there as I don't live in the area, but I'd highly, highly recommend Boathouse Bistro to anyone. Also, the staff was friendly, the prices were reasonable and the bathrooms were spotless.
Boathouse is a great family run business with pizza that is out of this world! So happy they moved to hull
We really enjoyed many different aspects of this unique restaurant! The things that really shined through was the level of service, great atmosphere, and even at full capacity you could still have a conversation without straining to hear each other talk. Also we were sitting next to another couple that told us that they come in to eat there once a week and love it! Five stars all the way!
Great atmosphere with terrific food! My family is extremely picky and it's always a challenge to go out to dinner. Their menu had something for everyone! The evening was awesome with amazing food!! You will not be disappointed...
It's always a great place to eat. Pizza is delicious 😋 The BEST place if you're looking for really great pizza. Family owned and they're are many family members on staff. Bartending, seating you, greetings you. They're great 👍 all of the food is amazing. Its definitely the best Pizza 🍕 and great pasta too.. chicken parm. is also a favorite.
First time there and man were we impressed. VERY attentive from the time we walked in the door. Albana was our waitress. She knew the menu inside and out. She had spot-on recommendations for wine & a cocktail. Homemade houmous and bread. Best I have had outside of home, we make our own as the wife is Syrian. The mussels (fra-diavlo) were just amazing. Great portion and massive mussels. We had the Tenderloin/Filet and the Cod. Amazing presentation and flavor. I can't say enough good things about the place and the staff. Albana was great to chat with, very pleasant, and her support staff was right on point. Never a dirty dish or utensil on the table for more than a minute (and that's a stretch). Mussel shells were piling up in the discard dish and someone swooped in, removed that one and replaced it with an empty dish. Very good experience. We will return soon. It was Thursday and Prime Rib day. I saw one go by and am counting the days till next Thursday. Nicely done folks!! 👏👏
I was there for a church staff party. The new location is beautiful with the view of the ocean of course. The food was buffet style. Salmon, chicken parm, etc. All was great. The service was great!
I never rate places. However, I couldn’t stop talking about this restaurant to anyone who would listen. Food was amazing, service was delicious. Coming back for the Thursday Prime Rib special.
So glad we gave Boathouse Bistro another chance in their new location! They've clearly worked out the bugs. Delicious shrimp scampi and orechette dishes! Great wine list!
New restaurant for Hull, MA with outdoor seating and ocean view. Very friendly with excellent menu & food. Reasonable pricing & full bar/wine. The baked cod on corn chowder dinner is exceptional and the presentation unique. Their pizza is outstanding. The prosciutto & fig pizza excellent.
To start we had bread w the best homemade hummus spread. The mushroom truffle pizza was very flavorful w truffle oil. We also got the braised short rib, shrimp scampi, eggplant parm.
Honestly the food is decent but service is lacking. Showed up and stood there waiting for takeout I had called in a long while before. After 30 minutes of sitting there and being ignored the girl tells me the slip didnt print and it will just be another few minutes. Another 20 and here I am waiting on one appetizer and one entree. Brutal. Hate to give a bad score but nothing worse than someone not just communicating the issue so that I could go run an errand or just do anything but sit here wondering…
Ordered the Eggplant Parmesan. It was about 20% eggplant 80% breadcrumbs. It was more like Breadcrumb Parmesan. The sauce was very good, what there was of it. Made with good quality tomato but over all a disappointment, dry and lacking eggplant and sauce. The pizza is totally delicious. You will not be disappointed there! Also they served a dip, I learned later was supposed to be homemade hummus that tasted rancid , sauce and bread that also was made with hummus. The staff is lovely, the views are very nice too. If you eat in side it is extremely noisy. Best to eat outside if weather permits.
I usually love this place. Waited for table then server has friends come which bumped my place in line for a table. The hostess sat us at the end of the bar next to the barrel where the people continued to throw things away, and they splashed me when they threw something away. If only they followed the order of who is up next for a table. I was looking forward to a nice experience after a long hot week.
Rough first time here. Waited 45 mins for two lunch sandwiches, and then my husband’s order came wrong so took another 15 mins to bring his out. Tastes like average low quality hotel food. Would have expected his taken off the bill, or at least a manager acknowledging the serious delay. Don’t see this place lasting - too prime of a location!
Calamari was amazing, served warm with banana peppers and a sauce. But alone it was great The servers were super nice and the place was clean However I only give two stars because I would never expect a restaurant like this to be using canned vegetables ontop of pizza. The mushrooms are clearly not fresh and we couldn’t eat them
The two women standing in the front of the restaurant were so oddly rude. They looked very confused and offended that someone might walk in and ask for a table. My boyfriend joined me minutes after I was seated and I told him about the women and he told me he just had the same experience with them. We went to the bar after dinner for a cocktail and the bartender was also very strange and unwelcoming. Although the food was good and the ambience pleasant we will not go back so as to not have to witness such bizarre behavior.
Staying at the attached hotel, so we thought for Valentine's Day let's just get takeout and eat in the room. Since this was right down stairs We figured we would give it a try. I ordered the Lobster Ravioli and my wife got the spaghetti and meatballs. The food was mediocre at best.T he portion size for spaghetti was a lot however, just 1 meatball with all that spaghetti. The sauce was really watered down and the meatballs were dry and flavorless. My Lobster Ravioli was in a weird sauce and for $40 I got 3 raviolis and 2 shrimp. The ravioli looked like it was bought from Trader Joe's. Except Trader Joe's has more flavor. To make it look more "full" they added uncooked green beans and tomatoes to the sauce. We had high hopes for this place due to the reviews but we were heavily disappointed.
Truly awful customer service. I asked for a pizza with ricotta and mushrooms. We went back-and-forth over the exact type of pizza. Finally I said “okay, then I’ll do the mushroom pizza but no truffle oil.” She gave me a pizza that absolutely had truffle oil on it. I brought the pizza back and said “you sure this has no truffle oil?” She said “no I made sure.” I said “it smells and tastes like truffle oil.” She insisted it wasn’t truffle oil. I tried to eat another bite or two, thinking, if she was so sure, maybe my mind was playing tricks on me. No, it was truffle awful!!!! I brought it back again and said “okay, it absolutely has oil on it and it tastes like truffle oil. You can SEE the oil on the arugula.” She insisted it was olive oil they had doused the pizza with (which would be an odd thing to do anyway, but no, this wasn’t olive). I said “okay. Put it this way: I don’t like the pizza and I can’t eat it.” She just smiled and said “well I made sure it wasn’t truffle.” I left and threw the pizza out in the trash in front of their store. What kind of establishment doesn’t remedy an issue? I returned the pizza with what two bites taken out? Three? And I came back TWICE because it was so bad, and it’s hard to make pizza taste bad. For customer service alone, don’t go here. They are SO rude. Update: after I left, I had to dig out my benedryl because, sure enough, it was truffle. I called and told them it did give me allergic reaction and that I want a refund. The lady said “I was gonna give you a refund but you ran out!” I have two dislocated knees. There was no running. Also, I had come back in twice. By the second time, good customer service would have said “you know what, if you are concerned, let’s make it again or give you a refund.” In fact, truly good customer service would have double-checked with the kitchen the first time I brought the pizza back. Mistakes happen, and they are an opportunity to wow a customer with how you handle things when you make a mistake. I wouldn’t give a one star review for a mistake. There was zero offer or remote attempt made toward giving me a refund until I called and asked for one. Then the lady tells me to come in a THIRD time to get a refund. When I enter, she just smiled and said “oh you didn’t have to come back in!” (Which she had asked me to do on the phone). “I refunded it to the card you used.” I can think of no other word for this woman, but nasty. If she isn’t the owner, her supervisor should, at the very least, have words with her. Uniquely atrocious service. Check my other reviews. I review A LOT. I don’t often give a place a one star review. If I do, it’s for a good reason.
This place is a total tourist trap. Came with my wife and received very light poured cocktails. Ordered some "white wine" mussels that came out to the table in a brownish sauce that were very bland. Even their pizza was bad! Very little sauce and toppings plus so much added Parmesan it was almost too salty to eat! Then when it came time to get the bill they charged me for someone else's order! They assured me they canceled the first transaction but now my bank statement is showing 3 charges! I called in to complain about my service and was told tough luck. No I'm sorry, no nothing. I never write reviews but had to share this terrible experience! DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU WANT TO HAVE AN ENJOYABLE EVENING!
Very dissapointed. Food was extremely bland. Everything was lacking flavor. Our wings had a really sour taste. The actual chicken wing itself was cooked fine but the sauce ruined it. Even the bread was lacking flavor. Our server did take it back and off the bill when asked. This place has great potential just wish our food had more flavor and we didn’t have to salt and pepper everything. Server could have been more personable and not taken offense when we were honest with sending the wings back.
I want to start this review by saying that the restaurant is beautiful and the food is amazing. The girl who came to seat my party of 11 visibly seemed very exasperated when our party of 11 came in (the bistro is just that, and is most comfortable for smaller parties). When we said we would be happy splitting into two groups and sitting in the back, she brushed us off & our group had to walk over and sit ourselves. The meal was great, with the exception of one of our parties asking for water with lemon & was provided with regular water & no explanation. Our lady server continued to seem overall disinterested in serving our party. I don’t believe women should have to smile in service but she look outright distraught to be working when the restaurant was mostly empty. On the menu it clearly says “20% gratuity will be added to parties of 6 or more” (see attached screenshot). When the bill came, a total of over $300, we started asking about splitting the bill. Our server told us “I cannot split the check, figure it out”. Taken aback, our group came together putting in cash and we had JUST enough to cover the bill. When most of our party was heading to/out the door, the owner stopped a few of us (two pregnant women included) and told us we had neglected her gratuities, which we pointed out the menu said was already calculated in the total. He said it was ultimately up to the server to add it and was NOT in fact, part of the bill. We only had $8 additional dollars, which we left for her as the last of our party exited. We regrouped on the sidewalk to say our goodbyes (family coming together from as far as Maine and Georgia) and the owner followed us out, confronting my mom, again asking us why we only tipped $8. We told him she refused to split the check for us, and only THEN did he say that we could pay with various cards. No mention from the server, no mention when he originally approached us looking for gratuities. Furthermore, It’s wrong that they wouldn’t tell those customers when they sit them down that the bill couldn’t be split, ignoring the policy noted on their own menu about gratuities, only to follow the same group around asking for more money & following them into the street. Our entire group who has well over 2 decades of combined customer service and serving experience, was appalled. Many other reviews share similar experiences of poor customer care and treatment INCLUDING 2 people who were hit in the head with an attack door & were ignored by the staff! Other customers complain about waiting and being charged multiple times for other tables tabs. PLEASE consider taking your patronage to the other eateries in the area.
We stopped into Boathouse this evening for dinner and had a TERRIBLE experience. We waited over 55 minutes for our food to come out and when we asked the waitress about it she kept telling us “it’ll be right out.” When we stood up to leave she told us it was on the bar and asked for a credit card. We were charged the full amount despite being ignored by the entire staff for almost an hour and having to beg to get our meal to go. (You know it’s bad when the bartender’s 2 year old kid gets more attention from staff than paying patrons..) I will absolutely will not be returning to this establishment, especially when professional businesses like The Beth and Alma Nove are options. DO BETTER, BOATHOUSE.
Food is really disappointing! We got take out and decided to try4 different entrees, all of them we super oily, semi cold, pasta was at best store level reheated dish with not a sauce but canned tomato puree. We ended up throwing away everything we bought and ordering from another restaurant. Would absolutely not recommend this place if you want quality food for your money. The ambience is nice and cozy though
