Hartz Chicken Buffet

Meh... Unlike the old school locations. No buffet table access from both sides as usual. Food quality lacking; low quality food. Food options lacking; not much variety as the other locations. Food volume lacking; empty or old & not enough. 3 guys serving themselves in front of me while I waited, when it was my turn at least 3-4 chafing dishes were empty. Service lacking. My first time here and definitely my last. I will visit other old school Hartz Buffet locations which are superior though. Im leaving a 3 Star rating to be nice. I would like to add that this visit was about 12 noon; prime time lunch hours. Everything should have been full and fresh.

I believe a language barrier may have had something to do with our previous drive thru experience as a heavy accent was present and we had to keep repeating things to each other for understanding. However, we were able to see a smile in person while communicating. The facilities were very clean but both restrooms were out of order. The meats were good but the sides lacked seasoning. Thanks

Horrible attitude and a Smart Mouth to Go with it, from the girl at the window. If you don't like serving people, go home and let someone else do the job she obviously doesn't like.

The chicken had a smell and the box had a big white greased spot on it!! The rolls are the best and they were good but not the same! Not Happy! Have 2 other locations near by but Not Good so I tried the one on Will Clayton and Wilson Humble- NOPE not good!

Firstly, even with the Senior discount, it was the most expensive Hartz Buffet I had ever been to. They had no meat on the buffet when we got there. We kept having to ask them for meat. They would bring about six pieces of fried chicken out and then you had to wait on more. We asked for Hot wings three times and 45 minutes later got fried wings with no hot sauce. Then we had to wait on hot sauce. I will never go to this location again. Two people brought back to go orders, while we were dining. Both of them because they weren't packaged with the wrong amount. The cook did a great job with flavor, it's just a buffet usually is filled with a variety of things to eat and this had no chicken until you asked for it. I was extremely disappointed with this location. That makes two locations in Humble that I will not revisit. It's honestly worth the drive to LaMarque for the best Hartz Buffet ever. I will make that drive, next time or try the one in Alvin again. The ones in Houston have poor customer service, lack of options and are truly not worth the newer higher prices. I did try the one in Baytown last month. That one was very good. Food was hot, fresh, and delicious. My favorite is liver and gizzards with lots of cream gravy on top. Southern comfort food at its best.

It was absolutely hideous! Chicken burnt. Supposed to be 12 pc mixed but NO breasts!! ❓ Just a back scrap piece and had 3 thighs ( I guess they took a thigh for a breast!!! Wings were tough and legs too. I used to get really nice chicken from the Will Clayton and Wilson Rd place. Plus don't order online even though you can on Google, they don't have online anymore or ANY delivery service. It sucks...

It seems as though this place is completely run by one person. The service is extremely slow. The dinning room is never open for some reason. And the chicken....the chicken could be rung out with grease, absolutely the worst chicken house in the Humble area. These are just the simple truths.

My gizzards where fried so hard I swear my tooth is cracked. I couldn't even eat half. Plus you charge for hot sauce. That's a first. Definitely won't be returning.

Chicken didn’t have seasoning the fries didn’t either. The only thing was ok was the roll I would NEVER go to this location again (will clayton)

Foodbwas horrible and when we asked would they be putting out fresh sides after we paid tge manger the stud said no I see why they have no customers and my credit card will be refunding I've already called

On a Sunday evening, we had to go through the drive through because they didn't have the dining room open. Chicken was hot but tasteless, same for livers and gizzard. Didn't know until we got down the road. Very unsatisfied.:( Not going to go back.

I just went to this location and ordered a 10 piece for 11.99 and the sign states I can add 5 rolls for 2.50. The guy told me that it's 4 rolls in the system. I advised him the sign states 5 rolls. I asked for a manager and he said she was going to tell me the same thing. It is false advertising if your sign say one thing but you tell me something else. I left and went to Popeyes. I will no longer spend my money somewhere that lies to me and talk nasty to me. I will NOT be going back.

Lacked customer service, dining area was closed at 6pm on a Tuesday! Didn't have any sides available. Only fried okra, mashed potatoes, and rice. I felt like I was being overcharged, so I drove off. I'm glad I did and didn't spend my money at this location. Then have the nerve to have a sign at the window saying "check your food before driving off, and NO REFUNDS." So that tells me yall are known for messing up orders. Red flag🚩🚩🚩First and last time ever coming back.

The cashier allowed a couple to come in with their poodle. Not only that, but let them stand holding the dog next to the food buffet. The couple let the dog down to freely walk around the restaurant. The cashier never said a word to them.

Save your money and go to Popeyes across the street.

If I could rate lower than one star I would. I never experienced such rude customer service. The lady in drive through with the black eye was rude. She made an excuse about giving me a receipt. Don't waste your time or money. Please pick another restaurant.

Food is normally good. I stopped today. The chicken was horrible, tasted greasy and old, okra was soggy. The chicken has no seasoning no salt at all. They have lost me as a customer. 🙁

The location was Will Clayton Rd. In South Humble, TX. 1st time going there. Terrible Food. It was some of the worst food ever. The workers would not wait on us. The lights were off and 2 workers were on their phone in the back. Cars were pulling up to the drive thru and honking the horn. We finally realized they could not get waited on and finally driving off.

All the sides were bland. The chicken tasted mediocre, and as soon as I entered the establishment ,some guy behind the counter tells me that the restrooms weren't working. Fool must've thought I was a bum off the street even though I was in uniform coming in from work. Horrible experience for high-priced horrible food. Smh, do better.

This location has declined tremendously. It's like there's no pride in the cooking. I would stop by before work to grab some fish, but lately I been getting fish that's been refried and hard. Or fish thats been over cooked in dirty oil. They went from serving good golden crispy fish, to hard and partly burn fish

Very disappointed and will not be stopping at this location again. I ordered chicken livers and was asked to wait (which I am used to doing since livers aren't ordered often. I'm always getting fresh food no matter what location I stop at) so imaging my surprise when I reached into the bag right after leaving the drive thru to find them lukewarm at best. And most of the livers we're extremely small.

If you go to the drive thru the food is good. No complaints there and the workers at the window are pretty nice but I have to leave a 1 star because they always have the buffet and inside closed. They only run the drive thru. Then if you can catch them with the buffet part actually open they put very little on the buffet and I always had to ask them to put some out. That was over a year ago and I haven't seen the buffet part open since. If you want to dine in the best one to visit is the one on 1960 going towards Atascocita. They always have the buffet going and keeps the dishes full on the buffet. The one here on Will Clayton is only good if you just want to pick up something to take home versus dining out.

The drive thru attendant was very rude and nasty! He deserves to be let go. I thought about getting off and cursing him out but I kept my composure. I'm one less customer that he doesn't have to worry about. I will not recommend that place to anyone.

Firstly, I've ordered $40 worth of food. When I received my receipt it was wrong...so upon attempting to make SURE they understood what the order should be...the drive thru YOUNG GIRL was RUDE & Whomever the SHORT PERSON was that came from the back was even more RUDE & condescending. I am VERY disappointed with the way we were treated. Last time visiting this location. I will be taking this a lil further than this review.

The customer service is trash, food is trash,old,and just sitting there.Thetes a sign saying if you don't like the food then let them know,we let them know can we get some fresh mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. Me and my husband was in the area and just stopped here for a buffet. This place is unacceptable they put out a couple of pieces of fish and chicken out at a time. No ice in machine for drinks only a couple of foam plates for you to get food. No good food selection only old food that been sitting there all day. This place doesn’t need to be in business at all.

1 lady offered good service. That’s only plus. Chicken was rationed on buffet line, not served hot & fresh during lunch hour. Vegetable Sides were not steaming hot on buffet line nor seasoned. Self serve Soda machine questionable, drinks tasted very “off” … I’m curious if chicken purchased “elsewhere “ if you “know “ what I’m implying. Chicken had very strange appearance & taste compared to other Hartz buffet locations in Harris county I frequent weekly

Terrible location. I've been to a couple hartz before but this one just plain sucks. First, there was no chicken in the buffet ready for you to take. You had to wait a minimum of 10 minutes for the chicken to come out and the only put like 3 pieces out for you to take. There was no ice in the soda machine and it was basically a chore to ask them to provide ice from the drive thru machine they have. If you are in a hurry, this is not the place for you to be. The one on 1960 in atascocita is way better equipped and turns out food quickly. There's no reason why they can't handle 3 people's request for food.

The restroom had a “out of order sign” on it. The rolls did not look like the rolls in this picture at all. They had the texture and taste of a 3-day old roll. I asked if they still had fish and she (manager) answered that they did not have fish. However, there was a poster advertising fish and after I looked at the items presented I saw the fish on there. So I again asked her may we have fish. I asked for one entre’ with extra sides. I was delivered and charged for two entrees with extra sides. So the price doubled. I was a dine-in customer and when I asked for tartar sauce she tried to pass off little packages of tarter. To which I corrected her saying no.. as a dine in customer I wanted the tarter in a normal condiment container. When she realized that I was not happy with how she was treating me, she then began to treat me with distain and was deliberately not trying to help me with what I was asking for. I noticed that when a new customer walked in she offered help right away only he left promptly. He probably saw the rolls. I believe this was a race issue. I have not been discriminated against in awhile but this day has reminded me of how ugly some people truly are.

Wait time is extremely long lady with no hair is so rude shell start your order and walk off on you. Food is to good for that type of service

I recently visit this a updated one management is rude chickens is tasteless and cooked in old grease needs more season to food never have enough choices in sides I've been to the Hartz on Uvalde rd their food is great and friendly customer service.and the management is wonderful. I thought this would have been like that restaurant since I have moved to this area but not so. Take cooking tips from them and learn customer service lessons

I usually like eating at Hartz. This was my worst experience. Mash potatoes watery , bake chicken wasn't cook fully, fried chicken seem old and over cook and I went in when they just open. Even fountain drinks were not right, and no ice came out warm. No carbonate Was gonna ask for money back, but I don't think staff knew English well.

I did so then went to the bathroom and there was no soap. She gave me a small water downed soap dispenser from be hind the counter. Then I never got a receipt either. The sides were old. You could tell they had been sitting out for a while. There was no tenders or fish. I had to ask for both. Gizzards were old and cold. They seemed to be bothered that asked for fresh food. Then the AC was out or something. It was hot as hell in there. So uncomfortable to eat in peace. Would not recommend this one. They were saying things in Spanish insulting me. Little did they know I knew Spanish. I called the lady out and she hide never to be seen again. Stay away for sure.

There are signs everywhere that the restroom is for paying customers, which I didn't mind buying something because I had to go really bad. When I walked in, I showed my debit card and said I'm gonna buy something but I need to go really bad and headed to the restroom. The door was locked. I go back to ask for the key, the cashier had went to the back and ignored me calling them for the key. By this time, my friend entered and was practically yelling "excuse me". They finally came and acted as if they had an attitude about opening the door. I will never go there for anything again.
