You know when you go into a place that has been around a long time, with lots of decorations... Usually has a build up of dust all over, especially those higher up spots. Happy to say, this place is super clean. Looks so very new. The food was really good, and happy to say service was even better than the food. I absolutely miss having a location in South East part of town, this location nearly ah hour away. For people who have been nostalgic about how they remember going years ago.... Go!!!! Well worth the trip.
This is the restaurant my family ALWAYS went to when I was growing up. The food is plentiful. Staff were helpful. The wait was long, but there was a table immediately available once I got my buffet plate. Sure, it's not fine dining. It's bulk BUT it's about family, memories, and the sopapillas.
Worthy of 5-Stars for the Nostalgia factor alone for me. When I was a young troop in the Air Force, me and the other guys would eat at Pancho's in Fort Worth, TX because the food was good, it was inexpensive and the Sopapillas with Honey gave us Superpowers! OK, maybe not superpowers, but they were awesome, hot and delicious! I'm so glad I was able to "Raise the Flag" once again in my life at Pancho's!
Just like we remembered. We used to go to the Poncho's in Mesa, AZ with my dad growing up. That location shut down years ago, and we were excited to find one in the Houston area. Nearly identical quality and atmosphere. Great memories. Excellent experience.
Food is served hot and on a hot plate. The cheese enchiladas are my favorite and so are the tamales w/chili gravy. Everyone in my group loved the red chilli stew. I love it over rice. The sopapillas are made fresh to order; please enjoy with honey. Servers were kind and willing to serve!
I have eaten here for many years, since I was a young child. The food has changed a little since then, but its still the same. There is nothing special or outstanding, its just good. My wife and I love the Flautas with cheese sauce. Be sure and get an order of sopapillas and drizzle them bad boys with honey. That is worth the trip right there. We try to go when we can. Always had a pleasant experience and never had any issues with the food quality. The building is old but we'll kept. Its clean and neat. If you have never been, you go through a line, pick the items you want and pay, then choose a seat. There will be a Mexican flag on a stand at each table. When you are ready for more food or drink, raise the flag and your waiter will come take your order. There is a small desert bar and salad bar as well. You'll love it or hate it, but at least try it.
Believe it or not we actually drove from San Antonio to this Pancho's outside of Houston because we no longer have any Pancho's restaurants at home. We grew up eating Pancho's and how they do it IDK but everything tastes exactly like it did years ago! Sopapillas were fabulous! Turkey flautas great and green chili stew awesome. Food was great but the service was really outta this world! From the manager to the servers and the lady that cleared the tables everyone made sure we had everything we wanted. Staff is exceptional!! Restaurant was very clean. We left extremely full and happy! We will gladly make the 3 hr drive again!!
It's exactly part buffet, part cafeteria. You enter and go through a line where you can get anything you want but you are served (probably to make sure you didn't waste, which I am cool with) you also order your drink here, then you pay and then you are desired where there is salad, salsa, desserts and a few other things, which you can go back for as much as you wish. The staff was super friendly and will bring things to your table, if you wish. Just raise the Mexican flag on your table. Seniors get a discount. Not good for vegans but a vegetarian will find things to eat!
buffet was Delicious, sever was awesome, very attentive. Booth could use a good cleaning.
Wow. Food was good! All you can eat. Tamales, enchiladas, tacos and so much more. Soups and nachos, and chips and salsa. Go, go, go.\nAnd the dessert bar and sopapillas. Yes please. Raise the flag …

Visited Pancho’s for the first time in years since the ones in the New Orleans area closed down. It is exactly the same food that we remember. Is it real Mexican, no, but I wouldn’t have it any oth…
Food is still the same as I remember it 30+ yrs ago. They're the only place i know that keeps it consistent over the years. Not bad for the price!
"All the Federales say..." My mom had enough children to field her own basketball team. So when we went out to eat “buffet” almost always appeared somewhere on the restaurant's sign. And visiting Pancho's on Long Point was extra special. But that Pancho's closed long ago and now if you get a hankerin’ for a Chili Relleno the color of a kitchen sponge you gotta head up 59 to Humble. Yesterday I did have that hankerin’ and I did head up 59. It's actually only about 30 minutes which by my Houston Drive Time calculations is practically right next door. I got all the things - taquitos and flautas and four different kinds of enchiladas and Piccadillo and Calabacitas (squash stew) and tamales and so many different kinds of macaroni (because this Mexican restaurant is in Humble) and of course the unnaturally yellow Chili Relleno and slathered it all liberally in Chili & Cheese. Tasted just the same as it did when I was twelve, which is to say fairly meh Mexican food for gringos. But it made my heart happy because it brought back so many great memories: birthday parties and baseball celebrations and when my huge Uncles would go and leave the flag at half-mast so the waitress would know to bring them “something anything” every time she passed by. They were jackasses. And let's be honest - we all just REALLY went for the sopapillas! Is there a better, more simple, simply delishes dessert anywhere? For real. Lemme know if you know one cuz I sure don't. Yes I ate those bad boys til I couldn't eat no more. That was a great little lunch trip, y'all.
It has been so long since we've had Pancho's! Due to the one near us in Houston area closed during the pandemic we thought we'll never see one of these restaurants again. I had Google if their is a Pancho's available and yes this one in humble was due for a visit. I was so exited and couldn't wait to eat the sopaipillas. My husband had flautas, chicken enchiladas, rice, refried beans and loaded tacos. I had the flautas, chicken in mile, tamale, taquito and definitely we both enjoyed the sopaipillas with honey. We enjoyed our visit the service was great. All the ladies were friendly and very helpful. The place is pretty big and they keep it nice and clean. The restroom needs a bit of work. It was smelling musty and looks like it needs work, but Hough it was spacious. It only has for to guest at a time. We look forward to visit again.

Just like I remember from years ago. I'm sad that it is the only one left. Food was just like I remembered. Good price also.
Came more for the nostalgia than anything else. Location is reasonable and there is no wait. I like the style of the high chairs, so the kids had a blast. Went through the line and picked through…

Classic that needs an extra TLC. Service and atmosphere: Outstanding service. Very friendly and helpful staff - five stars. The restaurant still has its charm but may need a bit of refresh in my opinion. This buffet was famous for raising a flag at the table to have service members to get you more food from the buffet area. Food: The food was okay. The buffet offers typical Mexican food options. A bit more variety would be a bonus. Pricing: $
Took my kids and wife just to let them have the same experience I had as a kid being able to raise the flag..lol The food was ok, not bad, but I remember it being so much better as a kid. The atmosphere was just like when I was a child and the service is excellent! While I wouldn't go back regularly, I would definitely still go again just because of the memories it brings back.
So, my family claims we have been here before years ago, back in the 90s, not sure if that's true or not. I really don't remember that far back into my elementary school years. Yes, that far back. So, I thought I would refresh those memories by taking my mom here for Mother's Day. If you have never been before, PLEASE READ this... it's not your typical buffet. It's like luby's. You stand in line, grab a tray, and point out everything you want on that tray. You want tacos, mac and cheese, enchiladas, etc. Put it on your tray and pay for your food and drink. Now they do have a dessert buffet once you're seated that you can walk around and pick what you want, cookies, bread pudding, etc. If the buffet is not your thing, you can stand at the "take out" area (right next to the buffet line) and place an order for a plate of food and drink. But from my experience, I'm glad I got that out of my system. The food was good, don't get me wrong, but it was bland. The food needed some spices or some hot sauce or something. And for those who are new to this restaurant. They really need some employee there explaining all this. But we had to figure it out for ourselves. Then the service could have been better. The server hardly walked around our table. But was very nice and understanding. But overall, I'm good. I don't need to come back again and sorry for the lack of photos. I was trying to figure this all out. Oh, and if you need a refill, raise the flag up on your table!

buffet on weekends is $19. They have a few items I like but I never eat enough for the cost. It's not my favorite restaurant but everyone is sweet.

Visited Pancho’s Mexican Buffet - near Humble and it’s exactly how you remember it. Old school, nothing has changed. The buffet looked clean and the food seemed hot. If you like that style of Tex-Mex buffet, you’ll probably enjoy it. I personally went just for the sopapillas, which are still the best part. They’re fresh and delicious. However, I was told I couldn’t sit and eat them there after paying, so I had to take them to go. They now give Kraft honey packets, which suck and really takes away from the original exp Between not being able to dine in and the honey downgrade, it was a thumbs down for me. Sopapillas still good. Everything else? Not for me.
They only serve to go if they have time. We came before everyone else in li e but they made us wait for the line to go down. But people just kept coming in. I have been wanting to come back for years but have not been in the area finally get here guess having to wait an extra 30 minutes to be waited on it's so bad. Hope the food is as good as I remember.

The most disappointing and underwhelming “Mexican buffet” I’ve experienced. Honestly, it shouldn’t even be called a buffet considering how limited the options are. The restaurant itself is cute and nicely decorated, but unfortunately the food is not worth the price. The main entrées were very basic “Mexican” dishes like enchiladas, flautas, and tacos. There weren’t any real meat options like fajitas or anything substantial you would expect from a buffet. I tried the picadillo, which was very oily and didn’t have much flavor other than oregano. The white enchiladas were also subpar. Just a basic tortilla with shredded chicken and a watery white sauce on top. There wasn’t even cheese or anything to give it more flavor. The beans and rice were standard, like what you’d get at any average Mexican restaurant. After paying for your entrée, you’re directed to the salad and dessert bar, which was also underwhelming. The salad options were very limited. I tried two of the pasta salads. The penne pasta was okay, but the macaroni salad was extremely bland. I honestly couldn’t even finish it. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We ate what we were served and still left hungry. The only positive was that the customer service was nice. I suggest you save your money and go somewhere else.
Ok it started off with my me and my friend 2 years ago and it we were having an amazing time then he had to let out an explosion in the bathroom. Turns out a rude employee was in the stall for 1 HOUR!!! He was smoking, and doing inappropriate stuff 😡. My friend had no choice to poop himself and throw out his dirty disgusting freshly washed underwear. This is not acceptable you need more stalls and better workers and you OWE me a pair of underwear Hanes. Food is amazing don’t keep me wrong now. But we are expecting a COUPON, NEW UNDERWEAR SIZE XXXL , AND A REFUND!!!! 😡 but the DRINKS was hot. And my friend who has cancer was in the hospital because of him not pooping.
Our first, and LAST, time visiting this restaurant. I have not dined at a Panchos in decades. It's safe to say I can go for decades without ever eating at another. The child was super excited to go to a Mexican buffet as she ♥️s Mexican (and Tex-Mex) food. Needless to say she didn't like it. She said the atmosphere was ⭐ ⭐ because she liked the wall painting. It was kinda dark in there though. She wanted to rate the food ZERO ⭐, but I said that wasn't an option. It really was that bad. She thought "raising the flag" would be fun but she was again disappointed as it "felt like an hour for our server to arrive." It was a looong wait for sure before the server finally got around to coming over. On top of bad food & service, as if THAT wasn't enough, when going into the restroom there was a cockroach on the floor & it wasn't dead. Eeeewwww. The best part was the hot sopapillas. I remembered them as good from before and at least that hasn't changed. If you decide to chance it I'd recommend not going on a weekend as the prices are higher. Oh, and drinks are not included with the kids meals.
This ain't nothing like it used to be. The only good thing is the price (but for the quality, it ain't all that) and the sopaipillas. I've tried this location twice now, and everything is just gross. Our waitress was also an older lady who had trouble moving around, which kind of dampened the experience because we felt bad asking for refills or service.
