First time coming to this place and they have the best customer service, Luz is amazing and very friendly. Definitely going to be coming back and the food was good too. I had the pozole but also got the menudo and I was told that was good too.

We googled the "best enchiladas in Oceanside" and this is what Google found for us for our mother-son lunch out. We are new to the area so don't know if they are the bessst in Oceanside but they certainly were fabulous!! Son got a cheese enchilada (yumm- addictive) & also the chicken enchilada and we split an asada & al pastor taco. Al pastor meat was flavorful and crispy. I got the shrimp enchilada culiche and wowww. Super wonderful and flavorful! Great little corner restaurant with lots of light and very clean. Beautiful tile work and ambiance!! There are a few nice patio cement/tile tables outside and even a palapa umbrella🏝️ We will be back to try more things off their extensive menu! Great job, Mi Asador!!

I came for lunch one day and I come back for the fresh and good size servings. The salsa and fresh serve yourself chips are fantastic and the salsa bar is creative and diversified. You can sit outside in the sun or under the umbrellas or inside and even catch a game on the big screen TV. They even have a juke box! The food is great. Casual dining, great hours and amazing ownership and service. You always get a smile at Mi Asador!

The burritos are huge and Tasty. The pork carnitas were delicious, I ordered it "wet", and it was covered with yummy sauce and melted cheese. If you like veggies, the chicken fajitas burrito had plenty of onions and peppers. The salsa bar has many options, and all are very good. Fast friendly counter service and a big clean dining area. It's a bit after a drive from downtown Oceanside, but worth the hike.

On Coast Hwy, parking on the street. No wait. On the menu there were lots of combinations of breakfast food. Large quantities and very good. The country potatoes were the best. The service was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed our breakfast. Actually took 1 pancake , ham and potatoes home. Next morning added eggs and we had breakfast again.

Haven't had a good experience finding good mexican seafood in North county but this place is an exception. I came here based on other reviews looking for good seafood soup and found it! So good I came back five days later for more :). Customer service was good and the chips and salsa bar was a nice touch.

I've been eating here since I was in high school in the early 2000s. They have a huge menu. I really enjoy their fish tacos, California burritos and their floutas. My favorite menu item is the "super massive hash brown breakfast burrito" seriously amazing.

Always awesome! It's not greasy Mexican food, it's like grandma made it back in the day. Had myself a surf and turf, must ask for by name. It was a magnificent dance of flavor with sauce that made me crave another bite. I will be having this again!

Their food matches the level of excellence their staff provides with customer service! Food is always a 11 out of 10! When you walk in they have a great salsa bar and chips to snack on, there is plenty of room for seating. My daughter loves their carne asada fries, i love their cabeza tacos ! Well, I love everything on thier menu!

There are so many great things about this restaurant. The staff is so friendly and happy! The shrimp tacos are my number one order. All of the ingredients taste fresh! They have a hot jalapeño sauce that is the BEST.

My husband and I ate lunch there. The lady behind the counter was very pleasant, cheery and friendly, you can tell she enjoys and takes pride in her work. Their chips and salsa were a nice treat. We sat outside table, it was shady and cool and very peaceful. My husband had his usual, Chile verde plate and as always, he was pleased as he enjoyed it. I had fish soup and it was tasty. My "litmus test" for identifying good Mexican restaurants is the quality/taste of their carnitas. In my extensive experience enjoying Mexican food, it's been hard to find good carnitas. Also, if a given restaurant offers good carnitas, I have found that all of their menu items turn out to be awesome. So, in "testing the waters" at a Mexican place that is new to me, I first try their carnitas. Well, Mi Asador passed my carnitas test with flying colors, and everything else I tried there was delicious! And, the staff are very kind & welcoming, and great at what they do! Seriously, if you like excellent Mexican food, I highly recommend checking out Mi Asador!

How have I not rated this place??? Been eating here 20+ years and remember when the current owner was our server way back when. Always cool to see her when we go, great staff, yummy food, clean place, cool outside seating options, can be a lil sunny. Carne asada is amazing!

Best authentic mexican food ever! Luz and her staff are amazing and the casual atmosphere is perfect. A salsa bar, chips warming fresh for your own convience along with free refills! "Most places charge now for all of that." And always a kind heartfelt welcome when you enter. EVERYONE MUST TRY IT ONCE...it won't be your last thats for sure! 👍

I wish there where more stars to give. Chile Verde! That's all! Oh and sunrise enchiladas. The owner is an amazing woman who makes me feel like her star customer every time I walk through the door. Fantastic neighborhood restaurant that serves delicious food with a smile. After a short wait we had tacos, neatly organized in a box 🌮 The lady that helped me was super friendly and joyous to each and every client. They specialize in seafood but we loved the beef and chicken tacos as well. I think the pricing is fair for the amount of food. I paid $45 for 9 tacos that were stuffed to the max. Highly recommended

I’ve been here several times and the food has never disappointed. It’s always hot out of the wrappings as I normally get it to go, and it’s always tasty. Also the gals that work behind the counter are always so cheery.

The people who work here are all gracious, friendly and welcoming. They offer a diverse menu, and everything I've tried so far has been delicious--especially the pozole de puerco. The outdoor seating is comfortable, and it's tempting to linger (though College Blvd. can be loud). All in all, this is some of the best Mexican food in North County.

Friendly service, fast and reasonably priced. Lots of options for vegetarians. Hard to find a place in the area that does potato rolled tacos so I’m thankful for Mi Asador! Soyrizo breakfast burrito is my favorite. They also do a carne asada fries sans carne, another option thats hard to come by for us vegs!

I've been lucky enough to have known the current owner before they took over. The food is awesome and hands down one of the best if not THE best breakfast burrito I've ever had. They treat you like people, and family with little touches like "Cut it in 1/2 just like you like it." Things like that are the reason I come back consistently and spread the word. Speaking of which this review made me hungry, I know what I'm ordering tomorrow for breakfast!!!

OMG! Wow. The food was AMAZING! My new fave in the Oceanside area! I was having our dinner delivered on a busy Thursday. Apparently the delivery driver was early and wanted them to begin preparation of the order. Luce called to verify that starting to prepare my order early would be OK. They wanted to make sure it was fresh. Her explanation and friendliness on the phone was fabulous. We received our food and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We had Carne Asada Burrito, Shrimp ceviche Tostado, Ceviche Tostado and Caldo de Res soup. The Flavors were absolutely amazing and portion sizes exceeded my expectations. My family smiled the whole meal and walked away with full bellies, looking forward to our next order from our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Thank you MI Asador for a great experience!

Ordered a breakfast burrito here on a Wednesday morning. Wasn't too busy since it was a weekday. The staff was super friendly, quite literally the definition of good service. Made sure I was taken care of, asked if I had question, and even offered me a bag to bring chips home for my to-go order. The sausage breakfast burrito I ordered was also amazing. Eggs cooked just right, not soggy and also not rough. The sausage and cheese added that rich salty flavor to make it hearty. And all wrapped in a nice warm thick flour tortilla that soaked all the flavors up. Definitely will be back.

The food here is relatively inexpensive and the portions are extremely fair, even large for the price. The customer service is fantastic and the food is delicious. There are free chips which come with your meal as well, you just have to get them as they aren't served. All in all this establishment is my favorite spot for Mexican food and one of my favorite spots for lunch in general.

Great everything! The soup is amazing! The pastor tacos are delicious! The salads with chicken, chips, salsa bar, horchata, everything... always delicious. We ordered a catering sized meal for 40 people with grilled chicken, carne asada, rice, beans, tortillas, and it came with all the salsas you’d want and guacamole. I ordered the day before and the owner was SO accommodating. She walked me through the process, and then called again the day of to ensure that they were covering everything. I was able to feel fully confident in what we were ordering and felt so helped. When we arrived to pick up the order, the employees carried it all to our car for us and again stated any way they could additionally help to let them know. Everyone at the party was raving about how good the food was. Highly highly recommend Mi Asador, especially for large orders!

We've been coming here for the past 4 years and it's our favorite little Mexican place to eat at. Their fish tacos are so good, the service is always so great. The ladies there always talk to us as if we're family and they always make our daughter smile.

If I had to find a complaint - the inside is about due for a renovation. The bathrooms are good though and looks like they were recently renovated but the rest of the restaurant is clean but dated.

The food and service here is always exceptional. Others have commented about their burritos being small... while their burritos may be a little (10-15%) smaller than some other places, I still usually have a difficult time finishing one in a single sitting. A breakfast burrito will usually end up being my breakfast and lunch. Their fish tacos are MUCH better than the Rubios down the street and their chilaquilles are as authentic as I remember from when I lived in Manzanillo.

Fairly good but the enchiladas were not hot, however the chili relleno was hot which was strange. I prefer whole beans over refried and I don't think they offer them. She never mentioned it.

My go-to Mexican joint for dinner platters. I'm sure breakfast is just as good, but I go to work too early. Anytime I want a hearty meal that's close and quick, Mi Asador is my choice.

Place is actually fairly good. A lot of options. Just as a warning, their guacamole is heavy on the pico, so if you do not like pico, skip it. A very odd choice in my opinion. Otherwise, good food.

Food is tasty and the menu selection is plentiful. Easy to get to location with lots of parking. I enjoy getting their different soups, plus this is the only place nearby that serves menudo everyday versus a lot of other restaurants that only have it on the weekends. Only reason why I didnt give them 5 stars is because of the prices. It is still fairly reasonable for the quality of food but it is starting to slide into getting expensive. I understand that it is the cost of doing business but honestly there is no business if there are no customers.

Great food, had the enchiladas and they were on point! Awesome service as well, the lady working when we went in was incredibly accommodating, nice and genuinely appreciative of our business. Would recommend you try it out!

We stayed at the Wyndham resort where this restuarant is located, so didn't know what to expect. Being from Chicago, we have really great restaurants and high expectations, and this retaurant hit the marks. From our server who was excellent, to the wine selection, to the food, all was excellent. Highly recommended for people who enjoy a wonderful dinning experience.

I've eaten here 3 times. The first 2 times it was great. However, today, the service with the cashier was beyond rude from the moment we began to order. I wanted to give this cashier the benefit of doubt today (maybe shes having a bad day) so i planned on holding off on the rating until the food arrived. We noticed we were charged over $6 for a bag of chips (we asked for chips but the ones that usually come with the food). We explained what we meant a she, passive aggressively, told us that she asked us. She walked over, grabbed a bag, and put it in the air and stated "This is the one you said. You said it like this with your hands ", then gesturing with her hands BIG. Then, as we are talking to her, she began to hum with her mouth, not making eye contact, to avoid the conversation. I brought to her attention her passive aggressive RUDENESS. Its sad that a great place like this has someone like this up front dealing with the people. I just moved here and can honestly say that my family and will not be coming back here again. Today is 3-19-17 and the order time was around 6pm.

Chile relleno meal lacked flavor. Maybe it was what I ordered, but everything and sauce seamed too greasy. Very nice salsa bar. Neat and clean. Very good service. I liked it that it seemed family run.

An employee of mine always brings back this huge carne asada burrito. I asked him where he goes and he said down by the new gas station they just built. So I assumed it was Mi Asador, but evidently its the place across the street San Luis. Because the carne asada burrito I received from Mi Asador was super weak. It was the smallest burrito I have ever received. I will be going to San Luis next time to compare.

My coworker and I stopped by here once got burritos. They were good but they were not very big at all compared to the majority of taco shops. If I ever go back I won't get a burrito that's for sure. Other than that, staff atmosphere, cleanliness is all great !

Average Mexican restaurant with prices on the high side. A medium size sea food bowl of soup was $18, but quantity of sea food was in the soup was less than desired, taste was ok. My wife had Chili Rilleno and she gives it a top score. We were one of two customer in such a large place at 7:00 PM. We went there a couple of times previously and will go back there again.

Very disappointing experience at this Mexican restaurant in San Diego. The server had a terrible attitude – no basic courtesy, impatient, and made us feel like we were bothering them. When we asked questions about the menu, they were dismissive, and when the food came, it was served with no care at all. The food itself was just average, but the awful service made the whole visit unpleasant. There are so many better Mexican restaurants in San Diego – this one is not worth your time or money.

Very disappointing experience at this Mexican restaurant in San Diego. The server had a terrible attitude – no basic courtesy, impatient, and made us feel like we were bothering them. When we asked questions about the menu, they were dismissive, and when the food came, it was served with no care at all. The food itself was just average, but the awful service made the whole visit unpleasant. There are so many better Mexican restaurants in San Diego – this one is not worth your time or money.

Unbelievable. We are all going through this pandemic. Businesses barely surviving, trying their best to accommodate customers outside with what little room they have and this restaurant who has plenty of outdoor sitting will not even come in unity with fellow small Businesses next to them and share the outdoor seats. The most selfish thing I have ever seen. I will never give them my business again and will tell the entire Oceanside community of their selfishness.

Very disappointed with the aguachile. The worst I’ve ever had. Shrimps weren’t cleaned properly and looked way different from what they have advertised. Never ordering from this place again.

**Restaurant Review:** I visited mi asador after hearing so many great things and seeing its glowing reviews. I was really looking forward to an exceptional dining experience, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype. The service was a major letdown. Our waiter was rude from the beginning, and when we asked for two small salsas, it took 30 minutes for them to arrive. When our food finally came out, we didn’t even have plates at the table, and it took another 30 minutes just to get tortillas for our meal. Everything came out at completely different times, which made it impossible to enjoy the food together. Throughout our meal, whenever we asked other waiters for help, they either ignored us or brushed us off like we didn’t matter. To top it off, we were handed the wrong check at the end, which just added to the overall disorganized and unpleasant experience. As for the food, it was underwhelming. While the presentation was nice, the flavors were off. Every dish seemed excessively salty, to the point where it masked any other flavors. I ended up only eating half of my entrée and didn’t bother with dessert. Overall, didn’t live up to its reputation. With mediocre food, chaotic service, and a completely unenjoyable experience, it’s not a place I’d recommend or return to. Very disappointing.

What happened? You have been my go to for years. Tonight we got fish tacos and 5 rolled tacos. My fish was so hard you could actually snap it in half like a chocolate chip cookie. My wife ate only one of the rolled because they were so dry and tortillas tasted like they were made days ago.

01/12/2025 I went for a burrito and pozole. And the cashier was not paying attention, she was more concerned about the music playing in her headphones, I had to repeat my self multiple times. I thought it was just me but waiting for my food she was doing the same to other customers. I was waiting for my food, and I noticed the cooks had my food done and left it on the counter, I waited and waited until I went up to the cashier and told her my food was ready, once I received it everything was cold from being in the counter that long. Worst place to eat, and that cashier/server ALL SHE WAS DOING IS LISTENING TO MUSIC ON HER HEADPHONES! Never going here again!

This place has gone to $hit. Been going there forever but no more. It's one thing to raise your prices because your vendors did and I'm totally cool with that. But other places providing the same services went up $1 and this place it was $3, once again that's fine buuuuuuut it's totally different when you sky rocket the price and now the burrito is 1/3 the size it used to be. I'm sorry but you don't get to do both. I went in not long ago and the cashier said omg we never see you anymore and in my head I'm thinking well that's cause you stopped putting burrito in your burritos 🙄

Appeared that the woman working the counter was not trained as the cook had to keep coming out to take all orders, wait on customers, and get all extras…. He took my order, repeated twice NO CHEESE… made my burrito, delivered my burrito again repeated NO CHEESE…. Does this look like NO CHEESE….once I discovered, I had to stop and remove or throw the whole thing away….

She yells at customers and is very unprofessional she needs to work on her people skills it is too expensive to eat at these establishments now to be treated that way..Also they don't use enchilada sauce on their enchiladas they use mole sauce and mole sauce makes the enchiladas taste nasty they do that because it is cheaper for them.
