Great food and service! They have amazing breakfast burritos that are so good I haven't had time to try the Hot Dogs yet but they look fantastic.
Wow! Just freaking wow! I can't stress how delicious and creative these hot dogs were! I would highly recommend you trying it out if you haven't already! They also have a very generous selection of local beer! The staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable with their dog selection! There's outside seating and the atmosphere is always outstanding! Highly recommend checking it out! Will be coming back
Great burger and tap house. Order first the sit, it was pretty busy but we still had great, quick service. They seem to have a good system. I like the large outdoor seating area. The burgers and hot dogs are unique and tasty. I had a burger with bacon, onion rings on it between a sweet Hawaiian bun. Fries or tater tots are served separately but after that burger I was full anyways. Would definitely come back.
I had a very pleasant experience. I ordered a bad motherclucker with sweet potato fries and a red trolley ale. It was delicious! The bartender, Kelly, did a fantastic job and was very attentive to the people sitting at the bar as well as people sitting at tables. I assume she is the manager. Prices were a little high, but so is gas. Guess that’s just inflation. Anyhow great place to grab a beer! 9/10
Chili the kid is delicious. Great chili dog. A lot of beer selections. Really spacious outdoor seating. Food is consistently the same which is great. Never a surprise if the food will taste different from one visit to the next. A bit pricey but worth it!
Great beer selection. Delicious and thick burgers. Lots of combos/toppings for everything. My go to is the Little Mule breakfast burrito. By far my favorite breakfast burrito I’ve tried in this area. Come here, you won’t be disappointed :)
Sorry no pics but I had the burger on Hawaiian rolls and it was freaking delicious 😋 cheese tots just as good. Hot dogs and the Nashville hot strips will have you wanting more. Highly recommend for a quick bite out
Great food. Excellent service. Each items has been on the mark for satisfying flavors. I finally found the breakfast burrito I was looking for.
Love the burgers, hot dogs, sausages, etc. But the customer service is really where they shine. You feel like family here. The staff knows my daughter's order as soon as we roll up. They also have a great beer selection. Can't recommend enough!
Mouth-watering comfort food... hot dogs, tater tots and hamburgers. Craft beer aficionados will love the selection and the incredible happy hour prices...$5 per pint! Tucked away in downtown vista, lies this no-nonsense locals haunt. Always a great time. Great staff, Great service great food
Without a doubt, the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had hands down!
Food and service was fantastic! Atmosphere was on point, top marks and recommendations!
I love the Service, the food and the cleanliness of this location. I also like the variety of items on their new menu. Excited to try some of the other items that are available.
A really fun place with absolutely awesome food. Lots of unique options. The food is delicious and lots of options to customize. Try the cheese tots with onions! Burgers are really a treat. We'll be back again.
I heard about their wings being the best in Vista… it could possibly be the best in all of north county! Best wings I’ve had in a long time! Awesome special happy hour deal too!
I don't often give out 5 stars for Smash Burgers, but I truly love Dog Haus. It was closed randomly for like 9 months, but it came back and is as good as ever. For some ungodly reason, they still say they have shakes on the menu and don't actually have them (no idea what that's about), but the Holy Aioli burger is delightful. My favorite burger in North San Diego County.
Fun place and no one makes a good hot dog anymore so this is great to have!
It was my first time here and I truly enjoyed the food, very much. Most especially the corn dog and onion ring. They have a huge selection of beer as well. Just be very patient because when I came before 10pm they were under staff but the 2 ladies were very very accomodating. They also sell freshly baked cookies.
Went in on a Sunday evening so maybe not the best time. Food was delicious but not filling. I ordered a Brat and IPA to wash it down. Should of gotten 2 dogs but maybe it would be too much. I'd recommend a dog and a side to fill a 6' 180lb guy. My daughter ordered the corn dog and she said it was good. Good size corn dog.
My husband and I loved this place. For a Saturday night it was quite quiet and serene. We loved the fire going outside and the plethora of bar seats, tables, and high tops both in and outside. There were many beers on tap. We didn’t have too much food but we absolutely loved the sausage my husband got. It had pastrami and so many decadent flavors. The sweet potato fries were hot and fresh. They were crispy. You must try the bambucha and of course we tried two other beers as well. The cali creamin is always a classic. Will be back for sure.
Food was great. Service was a little slow. Hard to find a person when you look. Would recommend just for the food alone.
This is for sure the place to come and enjoy a great hot dog or a delicious hamburger, hot wings ect. They sure have a combination of different good stuff (food) that you can had on or actually make your own way. My favorite things in the menu are Sour dar dog, tator tots, hot wings, and a nice cold HAF to swallow down the food. They also offer a nice brewery station for you to enjoy some cold beer. Great place, plenty of parking, great crew, awsome atompher and it is also dog friendly place to bring your companion. I will recommend you to visit Dog House and you will see what you have been missing. Enjoy,,,,and cheers,,,,🍻🍻🍻
No one thinks anyone can really break ground in world of hotdogs and ham burgers. Well these guys did it. If want a new experience that changes perspectives on backyard summer food look no further. Thet have creative gastro twists on hotdogs and hamburgers that incorporates themes or southern California taste. All burgers and dogs are served on a Hawaiian roll. Their beer lists is respectable with a wide range of selections. They have PLENTY of staff when I came by offering Yucateca hot sauce and refills. The place is clean and VERY up-to-date with an indoor and outdoor eating area lined with TV'S. Save room for their house made cookies, you'll be glad you did.
Romie was SO SO kind and humerous. she made our experience amazing. 10/10 customer service and highly recommend this place!!!!
This is our 2nd trip here. The first time around I would have dropped this off at 4 stars and been satisfied. It was good then but tonight - it was great. Took the whole family, including in-laws, to a celebration dinner for my son. The table had a veggie sausage, a couple of holy aioli burgers, some sliders, regular fries, sweet potato fries and onion rings. The standout, at least as far as I'm concerned, was the Mensch burger - IT HAS PASTRAMI ON IT. America is already great, I say. We had a really good time, the service was good and we even got to witness the bar cutting someone off. (she didn't take it well) Good times.
I placed an online order and it was ready on time. The food was really delicious and hot. The service was awesome.
Scrapbook Series, Part 2 This month Cathie decided to send us to the dog house! What did we do to deserve that? Well before you begin pondering how things all went wrong, just know this was a reward, not a punishment. You see the “Dog Haus” is actually a purveyor of quality hot dogs. While they offer a few other things, we kept our focus on the dogs. The “Downtown” and “Chili the Kid” choices were both excellent. While they may not offer the “snap” you’ll find when biting into a Chicago dog, they do offer something most dogs don’t these days. These dogs actually contain…meat! 🤯 Although you should visit primarily for the dogs, their beer menu is actually pretty impressive. Indoor and outdoor seating is available (but if you want to share a table with Cathie you’ll need both an invitation and a reservation.) 😉 Cathie and I couldn’t believe how much life has changed since we met last month (seriously, you have no idea), but we’re looking forward to continuing this series next month. Who know’s where we’ll be by then! 🤷♂️ Happy birthday Cito! ❤️ And that’s…Henry’s Take. #sandiegohotdogs
We decided to go in to have a beer to catch the last of the Rams game. Food was very good and Chris was super nice!! Thank you Chris for making our experience here enjoyable. Will definitely recommend this place
This place has the best food especially the breakfast burritos. Whoever came up with the recipes for the menu was a genius or just a foodie like us. We love this place, the people here, the chefs must be amazing. Keep doing what you do for your customers.
I’ve never had a hot dog this delicious before it was absolutely out of this world. I ordered the Chili Idol, which is basically a chili dog but taken to another level. The warm, soft bread really brings everything together and turns it into a true masterpiece. I’ll definitely be back.
Just had Dinner and Chris was the best. I usually have a chili cheese dog but today I ordered much more for my cousins and I. We all loved everything from the speed of service and friendliness of staff. Recommendations were on point. We will be coming in to watch some football!
We came here while on vacation because it was open late night until 11pm. Well, late night for restaurants here. I loved it! The people who worked here were fun, friendly and helpful. The food was great! I got the spicy chicken sandwich and he got the smash burger with an extra patty. Yum, yum and yum! We had great beer too. They have a huge selection of draft beer. I'd definitely go back. Almost went again last night.
I found Dog Haus by accident and boy am I glad I did! This place has some seriously delicious dogs and brats. All made fresh on buns that are are as fluffy as the clouds floating in the big blue sky's of Vista, CA. I had the chili cheese Dog and tots on the side. The dog was as good as it looked in the photos and the tots were cooked to perfection. I will definitely be back for the wings!
We visited the Dog Haus yesterday for a tasty lunch. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my wife ordered the cheeseburger and both were fantastic. Both were served on Hawaiian rolls so when you cut them in fourths they were little sliders. Service was good and the atmosphere was fun! We will be back!
Updated 10-06-20: Came by again for lunch and tried the Das Brat sandwich. It's bratwurst with sauerkraut, caramelized onions and brown mustard on King's Hawaiian rolls. Also got a side of onion rings, which were perfectly cooked and totally satisfied my craving. The brat was good too but the sandwich had a few engineering problems. The rolls are so light and airy they literally disintegrated as I ate the brat, which was heavy and substantial. They also put a ridiculous amount of mustard on the sandwich. Fortunately, I'm a mustard lover but I could see a lot of people having problems with this amount. Beyond that, the outdoor seating area was very clean and staff were helpful and courteous like last time. Original Review: Had the Cheeseburger with Onion Rings on the side today. Although you can customize a sandwich here any way you want their special Cheeseburger comes with American cheese, meaty pickle slices, lettuce, tomatoes and their 1001 Island Dressing. Which is like 1000 Island Dressing but with some chili heat added. Not too much heat for me but definitely there. The burger is of the smashed variety and it came pretty close to the medium rare I asked for. With Hawaiian rolls to enclose the whole concoction it was very delicious. The battered onion rings were good, but maybe slightly overcooked (a bit hard). You pay extra for sides like fries, tots, slaw and onion rings but nothing seemed overpriced here and the order of rings was generous. The food came pretty quickly. The place is attractive and the staff friendly. I took a star away because I ate outdoors and the tables were filthy. I mean when I wiped my area off with napkins the napkins were literally black. I assume they clean at some point during the day but they shouldn't open up with dirty tables. Also the retro-rock muzak was loud for my taste, especially before noon, but others may think it's fine. I will come back and try a dog or sausage. On a trivial note, they have an amazing hot air hand dryer in the men's room. The air blast is so strong my hands were completely dry in 5 seconds. Didn't miss paper towels at all. It's called the Xlerator Eco and every restaurant should get one.
Not only was the staff friendly and helpful, they allowed us to take our time and have questions answered. The food was absolutely amazing and very flavorful. My son had the Cowboy dog and was very impressed by the flavor and juiciness of the all beef hotdog. The bun just added enough sweetness to take the flavor train over the top. I will be back.
Been here twice and loved it both times. The only thing I could suggest to improve the experience is a TV outside to watch sports while you eat. You could always eat inside to solve that problem but outdoor dining is my preference. Also the hotdog I ate was good but the burger was amazing. Definitely going to go back for another one of those soon. The happy hour specials are a huge plus as well. Keep up the good work!
Got the Ringer burger and tator tots. It was good but I personally think it had way too much onions in it and was too sweet. I added jalapeños but I honestly couldn't tasted them that's how sweet it was. In the description it didn't say it came with caramelized onions it only said onion rings guess I should have asked. Excellent customer service. Nice place to have a drink or just hang out.
The food was good. I had the Beyond Brat which was piled high with Sauerkraut and spicy mustard. Had the same crunch/snap as a real Brat. Loved the hawaiian bun rolls. My son had the kids chicken tenders. They were spicier than I expected but the breading was delicious. We arrived around noon on a Saturday and walked right in. We ordered from the self serve kiosk which was fine. But the line piled up behind us and there was no one to facilitate or ask questions of. Then we had to hunt someone down to order the beer. Good, local list tho. I'm not a huge fan of having to place a separate food and drink order. Not a deal breaker, just inconvenient. Will def go back to try more food options.
Great food and good selection of on tap beers.
Food is amazing, root beer corn dogs! They have a very helpful and attentive staff. I love the set up of their restaurant it is a bit cold.
This place was awesome! It even has a decent amount of vegan/vegetarian options... The impossible burger is absolutely tiny but delicious... I also got the Italian vegan sausage and they turned it into a corn dog for me... The batter was amazing...the tater tots blew my mind and the sauces are pleasant and fulfilling... All in all a great experience. I don't eat meat or drink but the Doghause has plenty of options for me...and if I'm satisfied then any meat eater should be satisfied as well
This is a pretty good burger joint. No gluten free options though. You order at a counter so you can save some money on tipping since there is no table service
We came in and got the lunch special. I got the chili dog, frys, and a couple of sliders. Everything tasted good and was fresh. It is a bit on the pricey side, but I'd come back.
Dogs, sausages, burgers, sides, good selection of draft beers, soon to be plant based selections and good seating areas! Tasted good although I thought for the price, the sausages would be a little bigger. Still worth checking out and plan on coming back to try other items on menu!
I ordered the hangover, sooo cali, wings, and fries. The hangover was stuffed good, sooo cali was not what I expected...not my taste 😒, and the wings just needed more time in fryer... that was informed 👌 they handled it well. Overall good service, I've been here before and I really like the old town 👍🏽 probably stop by again.
We went here for happy hour and realized we were 20 mins late...lol We ended up getting a sausage sandwich and a burger. The cocky california was a chicken sausage sandwich with A LOT of flavor and a nice bite. The inside of restaurant is quite small. One big picnic style table and a couple tables surrounding it. There is also bar seating. A huge selection of beers. Outside has way more seating, heat lamps and a huge picnic style table with a fire in the middle. It's very cozy and the music they were playing was perfect for the atmosphere!
Great atmosphere. Good food. Awesome toppings. Not too long of a wait for food but the line was kind of ridiculous. Definitely different than anything else around. I would recommend for sure. We will be back. We ordered the Downtown and the Old Town. Both were amazingly delicious. The Loaded Tots were sooo good. Even the sliders were great. The sauce they use is amazing. Check it out if you get the chance
Plesently surprised! Dogs are a bit on the pricey side and everything is a la carte, but they have a great selection of food and beer, and everything tased fantastic! It's in a really neat little shopping center, and has plenty of outdoor seating. Dogs are allowed on the patio, and the owners and employees are very nice. We'll definitely be coming back
Came here at night because of the good reviews. There's a lot of parking on the street and lots of communal tables. I opt to sit by the fire pit because it was a bit chilly. The workers were also nice and they were bumping some good music. Food: Downtown Dog minus the sauces. Holy Aioli Burger The downtown dog was yummy but it didn't have that "snap." The burger was also delicious. It was served on 4 hawaiian sweat rolls that made it easy to cut and share. Similar to eating sliders. Overall, a great place to hangout on a beautiful day and night.
Smashed down to @doghaus_vista for a little lunch adventure. Cool, hip little joint with a big patio area and solid vibes. I had the "sooo cali" (arugula, avocado, tomatoe, fried onion strings w/ spicy basil aioli) and the "old town" (bacon wrapped dog w/ caramelized onion, pickled jalapeños, Chipotle aioli and cojita cheese) both were pretty killer dogs. The arugula and basil aioili really snapped on the "sooo cali" and gave it a fresh garden feel on the palette. On the other side the Chipotle aioli with the jalapeños and cojita on the bacon wrapped dog had a more traditional mouth feel and flavor. Would definitely recommend! All dogs served on Hawaiian sweet rolls and i wasn't mad at that one bit. They also serve sliders, chicken Sammy's, fries, tater tots and corn dogs. Go check it out!
Got the old town hot dog and it was by far one of the best hot dogs I've ever had. Super tasty with the right amount of spice. The beer was good. Great atmosphere. Service was okay. We had to go inside to grab utensils and napkins after our food was taken out. Overall tho, the food was worth it and we will definitely be coming again.
Great taste, looks appetizing. Cold food. Long wait time for an empty restaurant. It took 14 minutes to get my order (Downtown Dog and Chili Cheese tots). The hot dog was warm at best, not hot. The chili on the tots wasn’t really warm. Tots tasted great and so did the dog. This is my third visit here, same basic experience each time. Relaxed atmosphere, great taste, subpar quality and service. Really nice staff.
Breakfast Bacon burrito and Hangover burrito. Bacon was lumpy and not cooked crisp. Overall barely warm enough. Not spicy at all. Everything was extra cost. No choices for side salsa or sauces that didn't cost extra. But, the eggs were great, avocados creamy. Very clean and service good. This place has great potential. It has to work on quality cooking versus speed and tonedown the $$ for extra items.
The wings here are the most delicious wings I've ever had, but I ordered 2 burritos with sunny side eggs inside which was a $3 upcharge only to get home and realize they still made the burritos with scrambled eggs.. $3 extra for sunny side up eggs??? And STILL getting scrambled eggs after all that? Not worth it. Just avoid the burritos in general.
Vista location. This is another place that I really want to be better than it is. Great location and the facility itself is great with a nice outdoor patio that's just made for eating outside on a nice summer evening. But that's where it ends. This location is under a new franchisee and I ran into him right before they reopened. He bragged about their new breakfast burritos and said to come give them a try. So today I finally went in for a breakfast burrito and won't be back for another. When you come in to order you can use a kiosk and so I was going to use that. However, the basic sausage breakfast burrito wasn't on the kiosk menu. After some confusion, I asked the young woman working if I was nuts or if it was missing, and she said that on the kiosk it's called something different than on the big menu on the wall. Makes no sense. She took my order instead and was super nice. Much better staff than the previous owner. However, when my burrito was delivered to my table, it was actually cold. Some parts inside were a little bit warm, but a cold flour tortilla on the outside is just not good and the insides weren't that great...cold or warm. Just not a good breakfast burrito overall. Again, I really want this place to be better...it's a perfect spot and I wish they had better stuff. I just wanted the breakfast burrito to be great...especially at almost $12...and it just wasn't good. Sorry!
We decided on a dog. We did the sausages instead. I was expecting like a polish or something, but it was more like a brat. I am not a brat fan. It was tasty. I got the So-Cal, avocado, tomato, frenchs onions, great crunch addition, and some garlic aiola. I just wish it had a deeper flavor profile. It left my tastebuds waiting for that pop. The casing had a nice snap. We did LOVE the chili tots. The cheese, was delish. I am a cheese sauce snob. It can't be a ballpark nacho sauce. It was not. It was perfectly splendid. The chili had great flavor as well. I'm sure they have great burgers, yes they have burgers, and chicken sammys. The service was phenomenal, very helpful, and kind.
We came here on a Friday night and it was super busy. The line was out the door and there was only one person taking orders. The way they take drink orders is also kind of weird. The beer menu is all the way at the end of the room opposite side of the cash register so you have to squint down at the board to see what beer you want and then order there. Then a runner will go and get that beer for you. It's kind of awkward. Furthermore, the bar can be super full so it can be hard to place a drink outside of the cash register. Wasn't afraid I'm not a big fan of the Hawaiian rolls but the hot dog was pretty good, maybe not worth $6 but I think we will come back to try all the other stuff on the menu.
Cool hot dog joint that also has burgers and chicken. Lots of ales to choose from too. I had the Cocky Balboa, which is basically Italian sausage. My wife had the California style, which includes avocado and arugula. Both were pretty good, but we’re not fans of the Hawaiian-style sweet rolls they are served on. We found the dogs themselves to be a little undersized for the price ($7-$8). I also had the corn dog slider, which was very good. We shared the cheesy tater tots, which were good too - but next time we’d try them without the cheese. They have a small indoor seating area, and a very large outdoor patio. Lots of street noise though. The service was outstanding. Overall, decent food, nice vibe, and good service. But not the dogs or buns we were hoping for. I suspect most folks will like it more than we did.
It took so long to get service and when I finally did the food was mediocre and the eggs in my burrito were still raw
So I ordered through UberEats and the tenders were good! However, the fries and chili cheese tots I ordered were not included in my order and one of the cookies were wrong. This was the first time trying Dog Haus and unfortunately left a bad first impression. On the receipt it says the Dylan was the server, can you please ask Dylan to properly check the order next time please? Thank you!
Got me the old town hotdog and a bear. All for 15 dollars. Pretty pricy. The hotdog was not bland or anything. It was actually well made. My reason for a low rating is that its nothing special. Especially for the price. I guess its like an adults fast food hanngiut place if youre into that. The place is chill too and located in a nice area but again, food prices are not worth it. I could make something similar at home.
I love the location, I love the design of of the restaurant, but there was a reason it was empty save for one two top. The food is not good. The menu is trying to be clever and kitsch, but it misses the mark. I order the Fonz… It was a mistake. My wife disliked her order as well citing a flavor miss. I hope they revamp the menu if they do so I’ll definitely be back. Service was good.
Ordered online on a slow day and two hours later, still waiting. Had to cancel the order because no one was working at the front to even ask.
Very disappointed with how they handled the coupon they are offering. We are vegetarians and they did not honor the this coupon with with ok me veggie hotdogs. The cashier even asked the manager and he straight up told her no. Will not return where they don't honor the same coupons to vegetarians. Your coupon should say it.
Not great. Order from a kiosk has a fun local vista village location but don't seem to utilize. It was saint Patty's weekend and no live music or specials. Food didn't look like pictures I tried the hot dog I think fiesta or something like that. Don't think I'll be back. Bummer bc super rad location
My wife and I called this location to place an order. They asked for my credit card information over the phone, so we decided to stop in this location for some breakfast burritos instead. I ordered “the bronco” burrito which was formerly known was “the little mule”. The menu price is $11.99 on the sign in the store AND the website. When the order was presented to us on the iPad for payment, the “bronco” burrito changed to $14.99. When I asked the cashier about the price difference, she expressed that she did not care and would have to tell her manager about it later. But the price is the price and we had to pay it if we wanted our food. Since we were in a hurry I went ahead and paid the 25% price increase. When I asked for an extra sauce, the cashier informed me that they cost extra and so does a cup for water. I just laughed and moved on. I reached out to doghaus to explain the situation and give them a chance to make it right. They were unresponsive. Charging more than your advertised prices is actually illegal in California. Be careful buying food here and check the totals before you pay. Also do not expect good customer service if you have an issue. On a side note, our burritos were very sloppily made and the bacon in mine was just old bacon bits you could tell were the bottom of the barrel of what they had cooked for the morning. Definitely not even worth the advertised price of $11.99, much less the 25% increase. Very disappointed in this place and will not be returning. I suggest going somewhere else if you are thinking of getting breakfast burritos or a restaurant with good service in the area.
Have been up for 14 hours, flew across the country, thought "hey, let's order Dog Haus and give them another chance after screwing up the last order". Ordered, was confirmed, updated to "picked up", then "Cancelled by Dog Haus, please contact them". We tried to call, and your number doesn't work. You all used to be great, but suck now. Last 2x orders you delivered the wrong (meat) item for my vegetarian wife, and now you just randomly cancel and your phone isn't even active. Avoid.
I will never return here. I will start with the first thing that happened. 1. I ordered a fountain drink, they did not have any lids that fit the cups that they had. I asked for a cup that fits the lids. No different kind of cups. 2. Hawaiin rolls do NOT make good hamburger buns. The bottom bun fell apart as soon as we tried to pick it up. 3. The hot wings were undercooked and it had a rubbery texture. Also, it was very oily, not your typical hot wings. The meal was incredibly messy to eat, the only good about this place is that they had plenty of napkins. Save your money and go somewhere else. This place is not worth the price they charge. We were certain that the food was going to be good since we saw so many good reviews.
