I really love the location of this Rubio's. Not only their food is always good, but ever since the Rubio's I used to go to the most on my way home from work burned down, this one has become my favorite stop. 🌞🌊

Very fast service when it come's to ordering. Received are food at a timely matter

Fish Taco Especial or the Chicken Burrito Especial are always perfect. Add some beans and chips, 🔥

Taco Tuesday is best value, although tacos are getting a bit pricey even on that day, but everything is getting expensive now! So was able to combine a $5 off online rewards discount with the taco Tuesday lower prices, so splurged on pinto beans AND gave them a tip. Good value ($20) and leftovers!

I ordered on line & the app didn't allow me to order any drink other than Coke.

Always a great meal. Fresh, fast, authentic Mexican food. I try to choose some variety without much luck since I look at the coastal trio and think I can't possibly eat 3 tacos. They're so good that I'm wrong every time! A must stop when I'm in North County

Friendly staff. Food is always good, clean place. Also, outside and inside seating. You can tell it is run well with care put into the location. I have been to many Rubios, and this is one of the best ones imo. For example, if I get to go, the tacos are wrapped well, and no worries about coming home to a mess in the bag. If I want another salsa Verde, it is responded with a sure. Prices are good and even better on Taco Tuesdays for slect items. Their chips are light and crispy perfect, My favorite is the langostino burrito when they have it.

I always have a nice experience at this location. Friendly service and management. They always take care of people who bring coupons. The meals are fresh. My favorite is the California bowl. If there is ever a mix up, they fix it right away. Give them a chance to make it right and all is good. Clean location, very calm environment.

This is the best Rubios in the County. The food is fresh. The fish is always moist and tender, whereas other Rubios tend to overcook their food, and it is too dry. We go out of our way to return to this one. The manager and crew are very friendly.

*Dakota was the best part of my visit! What a friendly, enthusiastic, and sincere greeting I received from this young man. Very refreshing! I'd hire him for my company in a heartbeat! The food was good, as with all of the locations I've frequented. My only complaint will not lower my rating, just that I wished I had selected a table away from the front door. Customers kept leaving the door open, which created a breeze. I was on a timecrunch, so there was no time to switch tables.

Where else can you get a blackened salmon burrito? Very fresh, great guacamole and salsa bar. Rubios never disappoints.

Fish tacos were amazing! Use the cut lime squeezed over the taco. It really sets off the flavors.

I loved the condiments and salsas.. you can have a "hot ones" contest taking "shots" of the free hot salsas.. make sure you have lots of cold water. the people and the food were great. this is a perfect place to decompress after an insane day at Vista court house.. you can finish work on your computer etc and a FedEx next door for printing documents and the many other services. and right next to bus line! I pay one penny for the bus and or a nickel.. I bring up facts about the presidents on the coins as a bonus when I ask for a " courtesy" ride in my best Captain Jack Sparrow accent. one must always practice for the yearly international "talk like a pirate day".. you can talk like Mr Robot too.. he was a pirate. there is no ice in Vista, just sunshine and palm trees!

Live every day like Taco Tuesday! Rubio's Coastal Grill is where my friends and I go for the most Mexcellent fish tacos and delicious grilled seafood bowls and burritos.

March 1, 2026 i’m updating my review to include tonight‘s delivery. Absolutely outstanding. The value was great as well. I ordered the high protein bowl with double pan seared shrimp. The flavor was outstanding. The delivery was so fast. And the packaging of my meal was just perfect. Thank you to the delivery driver. That did such a good job and the person that prepared my food. This Rubio‘s never lets me down whether I go in or and eat there or pick it up and come home or have it delivered. Really a great team and a good wonderful functioning restaurant. Ordered the Mexican sweet corn bowl with shrimp. Absolutely outstanding. I got extra onion and cilantro from the abundant salsa bar. The lady at the cash register's name is Patty and she was so sweet and accommodating and friendly and knowledgeable. I think she made the meal taste even better with her warm and friendly service even though she didn't prepare the food herself. Nice quiet place I would encourage people to go in there and actually sit down and have dinner.

Food was good as always, but service was a little slower than normal because they were especially busy & had run out of pinto beans which slowed delivery of orders from delivery pickups that had to text their customers & caused a bottleneck for the rest of us awaiting orders. They were apologetic & we were happy to see this location so busy as it’s some of the best fast food in the area.

Rosa needs to teach everyone that preps the food how to do it properly. Our most recent visit was the best Cali Burrito we've had in a while. I even called to see who was working and they told me Rosa. :)

I love Rubio's. Their fish tacos are consistently good. I wish they still had the mango mahi-mahi, but the wild-caught mahi-mahi is good, too. The staff here is always friendly and helpful, even when I mess up my own mobile order. Thanks to Rubio's for good food and good people.

Short review this time. Last two times I ordered here the food was wrong. The time before last, I had to come back to the restaurant twice. They had forgotten most of the meal, then have the wrong sauce to the wife. Must make her happy!!! I would have gone back 5 times to satisfy her but it only took 3 visits that evening to this location. Food is pretty good but double check your order. Save yourself the hassle. They have some high turnover here and that may be the issue. The restaurant did make it right and I was happy after talking to mgmt, so 4 stars instead of 3.

I would give a 4.5 if I could, but can’t give a 5 because the blacked mahi was a bit over-seasoned, making it a bit too salty. Portions were awesome, food and toppings were fresh. Probably the best Rubio’s we’ve had except for the mahi seasoning. The temp in the store was a bit cool, and it was one of these very warm (80) days in the area.

I love Rubio's food generally, but for some reason, their fish burrito is pretty bland. The shrimp and bacon burrito is always good. As for service, I'm not sure why whenever we come to this location, the service is really slow. We were the only customers waiting for food (the place was empty except for a couple that already had their food), and it took like 15 minutes to get 2 burritos...

15.00+ dollar shrimp burrito was small and not served warm, I asked for one extra chipotle since normally comes with more inside the burrito and they wanted to charge me. Restaurant is empty. The manager is good at the vista location otherwise this place would have zero customers. Overall , I doubt I will come back. It’s like being charged for ketchup, or hot sauce. It’s a nickel and dime outfit at this point!

The service was good, but the food was very disappointing. The fish and chips were a letdown, and the tortilla soup was just so, so. This is the 2nd time we were very disappointed in the food. We will stick to our favorites in the future.

The service is above average at this location so have to give a couple stars for that, but the portions are tiny! For a burrito I expect more than kid's size portions and a poorly wrapped burrito. Should have gone to Chipotle instead I guess. This location feels a little outdated inside compared to most Rubios locations at this point. Overall I won't be returning to this location.

Placed an order online showed up at the appropriate time, Pawn walking in one of the workers said we'll be right with you . Then the lady behind the counter decided to help two people that walked in behind me instead of me while my food was sitting there the entire time to go. We love going to Rubio's and I can't wait till the Ocean Side location opens back up because they're way better organized than this Vista location. You can tell that they're constantly dealing with mis orders and missing items and upset customers. Don't come to this location if you're a polite customer that Waits their turn because you will not get served till you're last. When I said something about her helping two people that walked in behind me instead of saying nothing or apologizing, she argued with me.

Yeah don’t go here unless you are willing to empty your bank account on very low quality and quantity of food. I spent 15 bucks on 1 very small mini taco and a tiny half bag of chips with guac that had an avocado peel in it. I ordered online and never expected it to be that little of food. I never complain about businesses but this was a huge waste of money.

I was asking the team member who was taking my order something and a bigger woman in the kitchen decides to interrupt very rudely for absolutely no reason. She didn't even have her name tag but she had a bun. Girl if u hate ur life don't be trying to be rude to people unprovoked especially. Unacceptable. I'm in the restaurant writing this because it was so uncalled for I was JUST asking a question. Sucks because I love Rubio's. Lady working at 8:40 May 14 had nerve to ask me why I’m standing there, above me is the pick up food for online order sign. If you hate your job just don’t work there. You’re supposed to say how can I help you not.”is there a reason you are standing there?” Unacceptable and unprofessional. Managers get your employees in check please.

1st of all, It was delivery. Food was ice cold, the tortillas were never warmed enough to service. Two tacos I recieved one lemon slice, for two tacos. The beans were ice cold. Do better. Worst experience ever at Rudios.
