It was amazing. Service was great, servings were HUGE, atmosphere was chill, and food was well seasoned and delicious!!! Highly recommended the blackened tilapia with shrimp étoufée. Will definitely return next time we visit the island.

HUGE portion of fried rice, you can actually see lots seafood (shrimp, crawfish, octopus)! Grilled oysters are filled with flavor, pairing especially well with COLD BEER! A must try in Katy!

This is our first time eating at Black Pearl, and we are completely in love with this place. The snails, shellfish, and other seafood here are fantastic. We tried four different dishes — grilled squid, sweet snail with salted green pepper, lemongrass steamed true conchs, and Thai steamed clams. Oh my goodness, all of them were so delicious. The Thai steamed clams broth could serve as a base for a noodle dish on its own. All the food tasted fresh and not fishy or old. Our server was very helpful in explaining the various options. This is now our favorite restaurant, and we plan to go back in a week.

We came here with our son, and he is such a picky eater. He loved the butter garlic noodles and chicken nuggets; completely demolished his plate! Not to mention the waitress there was so sweet and accommodating for putting on some baby shows for him. It was very customizable with sauce options and a wide array of options. Food came out piping hot and fairly quick.

We love house special- a lot of garlic and perfect seasoning. -Kitchen special -lemon, onion, black peppers- good also but we preferred House special (must try flavor). It’s a little hotter since a lot of black peppers. Don’t order this flavor if you don’t like black peppers. - Snail with coconut and tamarind snail are so good- the best in town , so rich and sweet and salty perfectly. Better than many other restaurants in Bellaire.

The owner always informs my family about the freshest seafood available, making it easy to choose our dishes. The oysters and crawfish, in particular, are prepared in various delicious flavors. Additionally, I often order the salt-roasted soft-shell crab, quail eggs stir-fried with tamarind, Thai-style steamed clams, and coconut stir-fried snails. The restaurant’s beautiful design makes it perfect for dates or family dinners.

During my recent visit to celebrate my little brother's birthday, I had the most incredible experience at this restaurant. The attention to detail in the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients in every dish I tried was truly impressive. The flavors were exceptional, and I can't wait to return to sample more of their amazing offerings. Additionally, the reasonable prices added to the overall enjoyment of the experience. 👌🏻One highlight was definitely the OYSTERS. Whether raw or in the form of cheese versions, they were of generous size and incredibly fresh. I highly recommend trying them out.

Visiting from out of town, nondescript shopping center and decor. But the food and service/advice was great! Some of the best raw oysters I have had and at a good price. She recommended the Sweet Snails and we also ordered the crab vermicelli. Fantastic. Didn’t expect it to be Vietnamese food but worth it.

In all my years and experiences with other seafood boil restaurants, never in my life have I tasted something as perfect as black pearl seafood. The family run restaurant was perfect for a night out on the town in Katy. The owner stopped by the table to say hi and recommended the Grilled Squid. The dish was amazing, the squid cooked just right and seasoned with spicy chili oil made you want to keep coming back for more. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Great experience.

The owner personally took our order. The boil was delicious, with flavor. We got half cheese (which was more in the sweet side) and half special sauce.

This place is a hidden gem!! We started off with oysters which were super fresh and clean! They have this amazing green sauce served with it and THAT stuff is amazing! The crab legs were large and flavorful! Perfect combination of spice and seasoning. We were Sat immediately and our food starting arrive shortly after we ordered. Great place and service over all. This is my first ever google review but what I just experienced had to be documented. Picture this: you and your girlfriend travel 3 hours to Houston for the sole purpose of getting a seafood boil for Valentine’s Day dinner. Suddenly, a damn near hurricane hits Houston out of nowhere and seafood boil is no longer an option, we have to flee the city. On our way back home, devastated and defeated, we continue our search for a Vietnamese Cajun seafood restaurant when all of a sudden, come across black pearl 5 minutes away from our way out of Houston. Last minute, we take an exit with nothing but pure hope and nothing to lose. Little did we know, we were about to have the absolute best seafood boil of our lives. We were seated immediately and our wonderful server, Tracy, quickly took our order of 2lbs crawfish (hot house sauce - a garlic butter delicacy.) It came out really fast and steamingggg hot. When I say the crawfish was the freshest, biggest, juiciest ones we have ever tried, coupled with a big fat snow crab cluster, we could not get enough; we ended up ordering 2 more lbs of crawfish! Tracy was extremely attentive and awesome. Needless to say, this will not be the last time we make the 3 hour drive for the sole purpose of eating at Black Pearl. They saved our Valentine’s Day and could not be happier. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

Everything was seasoned to perfection and served piping hot. If you like a little kick with your crawfish, you have to try this place. 10/10!

Food is terrific, grilled oysters, crawfish, garlic shrimp noodles, all top notch. This is a very small restaurant and can get full quickly, especially on a weekend. We did BYOB, though alcohol is listed on the menu. It’s noisy when busy. We only saw two people waiting tables so service can be slow, again, when busy. Dispite those niggles, we’ll definitely be back, the menu is extensive and we just scratched the surface.

My favorite items were the grilled squid and razor clams - both had lots of flavor.

Order 4 lbs of shrimp to go and with potatoes and corn. Had different seasoning a and spice levels. My opinion on the medium spicy level was not spicy at all (but I also eat jalapeños for fun). I had the house blend spices. Overall the seafood was good. My parents batch was nicely done mild with the kitchen special was good. Since I lived far I had to slightly reheat my food but tasted good even after. I want to experience this place in person with a hot meal right out of the kitchen and I’ll update the review once I do. They were not busy on the day I went and it was in a weekend which was great compared to the other big name spots that have lines out the door or Cant answer the phone since they are so busy. 🦐🦞🦀

We visited this restaurant during the evening hours. The restaurant was nearly full. We ordered blood clams, razor clams, oysters and fried rice. The oysters were plumb and the green onion sauce made them more succulent, unfortunately the clams were overcooked (we surmised that the chef thought we were not used to see blood). The fried rice was delicious with a hint of smoky aroma, the hallmark of a well seasoned wok. The service was fast, staff was friendly, we enjoyed our meal and will be back when in Katy.

I want to give this place 5+ stars because the food was amazing!! We had crawfish with their house sauce, so good! Medium spicy wasn’t too hot so I would probably go for the hot next time. We also had the scallops and grilled oysters which were both soooo good!! Only thing was the waitress, if she would have been friendlier and a little more enthusiastic about describing their dishes that would have put this place above 5 stars!

All the food we ordered was great except for the fried fish balls. I think it just needs more frying for a bit more. Service was great and ambience. Definitely be back.

Everything was good, except the razor clam. Flavor of the snail was very good, but portion is small and pricey.

Delicious crawfish, amazing truly. I was recommended the house mix.. I think, it had lemons, oranges and etc in it. I got medium spice and it was spectacular. The service was quick as I got my order to go and called prior. I cannot give five stars due to a mess up on my order, I ordered sausage and only received two pieces when I should’ve had five. This may seem minuscule but it’s five dollars worth so I’d like what I paid for. Overall the food was delicious. 8.8/10

First time coming here. The food was okay. We ordered 5 different dishes. Some were good, others not so much. We liked the scallop with quail eggs, grilled squid and fried squid. The chicken wings were okay. The softshell crab was good. It was a bit on the sweet side. We like our soft shell crab salty/sour. The crab noodle was my least favorite. It was okay. It had a lot of crab meat but it was just not tasty. Our waitress, I think the only waitress at the time (6:30 pm), did not seem too happy to be there. Maybe because she was the only one.

There was only one person working, so you need to be patient to order food. The food tastes not too amazing, but it's okay.

Giving this place 1 star due to the fact that service was ugly and the food was mid , the sever rushed us out the place and we just wanted to eat craw fish and have a nice dinner total came out to be 100 and it was not worth it at all
