Edit: We went back the very next day. Awesome experience again. The fried pickle portion was huge, but we already tore into it before I thought to take a picture. The food was great, but I also wanted to leave a special thanks to the young guy at the counter with the long-ish hair. Food first, though. We ordered a brisket cheese fries as an appetizer, and it was probably the best thing we got. I almost ordered another one to-go. My wife ordered a 3 meat plate, and I ordered a brisket melt burger. Everything was cooked well, and they even asked my wife if she wanted lean or moist brisket. (Awesome that they give the option.) The cashier at the counter (didn't get a name) also actually took the time to interact with my 3yo daughter. She was making faces, so he started playing with her, making faces right back. It was nice to see. Just about everywhere you go with a 3yo (restaurants, superstores, clothing stores, dealerships, etc.) no one will acknowledge the children, so it's definitely a bonus when the staff can make the dining experience fun for the toddler, too.

Pretty solid bbq. Brisket is very good and the mac & cheese was alright. Cute little cornbread biscuits that are tasty and the baked potato was large and loaded!

First time ever coming here it was pretty decent. I ordered the nachos. Didn’t like that I had to put them together myself but I understand why they do it. They gave me enough brisket to eat again the next day so that was definitely a plus.

Today was our first visit. We had the Brisket Spud & Chopped brisket sandwich. The brisket was flavorful and delicious but a bit dry. I do prefer a moist brisket but this was a bit too dry for my taste. Had to add plenty of their bbq sauce to compensate. However, I will say the spud was pretty big and loaded with lots of brisket. I got 2 meals out of it.

Great burgers, decent fries, decent prices, and decent sized portions - but below average service. Atmosphere was fine with good music playing, and a few tv screens on the wall. No issues with this place other than the staff didn’t act like they cared they had customers! They couldn’t figure out how to apply rewards on the register, and never once asked how the food was, asked if we needed anything else, nor greeted us on the way in or thanked us on the way out. I don’t know if we will be back based on all of this. Good burger though…

Nov 2024 - we've driven by here hundreds of times saying, "we need to try this place." We'll, today we did... it was good we liked it very much. And we'll be back bc our son just moved into an apt complex just down the street. It wasn't crowded, so the service was good, no wait. The food came out quickly. The atmosphere was typical of a BBQ joint in Texas. However there were lots of TV with college football on which was a ++. We both had the 2 meat plate... me brisket & sausage... wife brisket & chicken. All of it had good flavor and taste great. Like I said... we'll be back.

I ordered the ribeye for pickup, it was full of gristle. I maybe got 10 bites out of it. They forgot my salad. Put the ranch dressing in my bag but did not put a in a salad. Not enough gravy for my mashed potatoes. The cream of corn was excellent.

I was very disappointed with our experience here. Upon arriving, we were completely ignored by the staff. They failed to provide a water cup for my child and a house salad bowl. When I asked for a lid for the cup, I was told there weren't any, only for another employee to provide a kid's water cup with a lid after I explained that I was with my 4 year old and. I appreciated his help! The issues continued with our food. Our order included a house salad, but when I asked for the bowl, the server insisted that I didn't have a salad on my order. I actually had to go back to the front to check the menu and confirm. Ironically, the same employee who had finally helped with the kid's cup was the one who eventually brought out my salad bowl. The lack of communication and basic attention to detail made for a very frustrating meal. I hope management can work on staff training and coordination.

Always order what the name of the establishment implies. Didn't heed the advice and ordered a steak and that was a bad choice. Ordered my steak medium well but it tasted charred and burnt with a lot of fat. Sides were bland also. Mints were great though. Probably won't return or be hesitant to try again.

Our family has loved this place for years as our Sunday carry out. And we were thrilled at the addition of the loaded bottle caps a while back. However every week since they were introduced they’ve gone down hill. The portion is now half the size as before. The cheese has also been halved. But probably most disappointing is that the beef has gone from a small box to a literal tablespoon. Very disappointing.

BBQ sauce and pickles are vinegary, y'all trying to Carolina my Texas BBQ!? Shame on you. Sides were a flop. Potato salad and Mac N Cheese were nothing to brag about, salad was salad. Ranch dressing was good. Peach cobbler was delivered overcooked and dried to the pan(1/5)? Banana pudding was tasty but consistency of sludge. Where's the Wafers?(4/5). Overall, this experience would not entice me into a visit in-restaurant.

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience. After eating a loaded baked potato from here, I ended up extremely sick with food poisoning symptoms. Food safety is critical, and this situation raises serious concerns about how items are being stored and prepared. I hope management takes this seriously.

The food was horrible. I got a 3 meat plate asked for white meat got dark, brisket was dry as hell and so we're the ribs. The best thing was the roll. I will never go back and this isn't the first time but will be the last.

The food wasn’t good. I ordered turkey . It tasted as if it was just regular sliced turkey. Not smoked or barbecue’d. The rice & cheese casserole was horrible. Baked beans were not what I’m used too but wasn’t as bad as the other dish. Customer service was good though.

This place has really gone downhill. Twice now my fried okra is burnt mashed potatoes are way too salty and like usual I got home and my whole order was wrong. I used to brag about red river To friends. But I feel like I’ve just been robbed. I didn’t mind paying $18 for a meal a Year ago. Now I’m going out of my way to leave a review on the worst barbecue place in Katy.

There’s mostly an older crowd of customers but that’s not bad, it’s quiet! However the food is meh. The brisket was dry and had little to no flavor, I had to drown it in bbq sauce to even come close to liking it. The Mac and cheese was bad and tasted old, same with the potato salad. The only good thing was the salad. Nonetheless, the manager was really amazing when I sent my plate back and she was totally understanding and even offered me something else !!
