La Segunda Bakery and Cafe is a popular spot known for its Cuban sandwiches, pastries, and coffee. Customers rave about the fresh bread, especially in the Cuban sandwich, and the guava and cheese pastries. Some find the coffee too strong and note slightly higher prices.

Absolutely great. Food, service, cafe is great. You will not be disappointed. ... Updating my review from 3 months ago. Just landed to Tampa from Chicago. First stop la segunda. Just as great if not better than our first time here. El Cubano sandwich is the bomb. Here for vacation and starting off great with la segunda!
I had a Cuban sandwich that was one of the best I've had. Price was fair and service was quick even though it was lunch hour. Would recommend.
La Segunda is on Kennedy.. if you knw the Ybor location, then you knw that you will still get quality food. This location has inside and outside seating and more of the S.Tampa vibe. You can grab the, crunchy crust on the outside and soft fluffy dough’ Cuban bread, on the stands across from the pastries.. you have no idea how hard that was to pass.. but, you can see them prepping the items, that was cool . At this location you are not able to see them prep the food ( like Ybor ) but you can smell the bread and the pork.. yummy.. As you walk around, you will indulge in the aroma of the Cuban coffee.. would suggest to have with Cuban toast. there is no shortage of hustle and bustle.. my wait time was maybe 5 mins .. ok ok though no pic, during that 5 min the guava pastry was calling my taste buds .. and yes both the pastry and Cuban was like the Ybor location. Enjoy
Excellent coffee and nice desserts! Great Cuban sandwich.. Fantastic place!
Beth is absolutely amazing and saved my morning. I ordered a big catering order for a client, way too close to the meeting date and it was immediately rejected (error on my end). I was called by the 3rd party service to let me know. I immediately called La Segunda and Beth answered, jumped in ready to help, and was prepared to help me get something to this corporate meeting. She set me up with the works, and our clients were SO happy with the spread she picked out. I trusted her, and she delivered. She picked out all the BEST pastries, sandwiches, coffees, and jumped right into action. La Segunda is BUSY this time of day. She didn’t sweat it, and got right into the solution. It might not seem like much, but when you have someone who goes above and beyond like Beth, and the whole staff did today, you have to appreciate it. Thank you SO much!!! ☺️
Lived in Tampa for most my 69 years moved to North florida a few years back. Recently my family had a small reunion at the end of Oct- Nov ordered a couple loaves of cuban bread because the family misses it soooo much. When it was due to be delivered (overnight) the order was never delivered. It was truly missed everyone was looking forward to having it. Can not it authentic cuban bread here.
I had the avocado breakfast sandwich on Cuban bread. It was my first time having Cuban bread. It was amazing! I had to run from the deserts. They were literally to die for!
Best Cuban in Tampa that I've had! The bread is so fresh and soft. The flavor is amazing. You walk in and proceed to the register to place your order. You can order to go or dine in. There's limited seating available. You give your name after placing your order and your name is called when your order is ready. Cuban sandwich runs $8.99 and if you want to make it a combo (chips or pastry and a drink) for $2.99 more. You can also order pressed or not pressed. I prefer pressed. Order pickup can be a little confusing if ordering pastries and deviled crabs versus sandwiches...and to go along with dine in. Instead of having 1 area for pickup for all items, they have multiple areas. They also have an intercom system but don't always use it. So having a hearing impairment it was hard to hear my name for my orders with the volume in the place. Despite this, the experience was great and I can't wait to go back. Did not try pastries on this visit but they looked amazing. Cute cafe and easy to find. Plenty of parking available in front or back.
From the product to the decoration, ambiance and service, La Segunda deserves 5 stars. It is a bakery with class. Nice and comfortable layout, polished concrete, beautiful furniture, sofa couch area to relax and enjoy your coffee, power outlets to charge your devices and tons of service personnel circulating continuously bringing your food to your table and promptly cleaning as soon as patrons leave. They even had hooks under the bar to hang your jacket during the cold months. Many restaurants could learn a thing or two from La Segunda. Definitely I’m recommending it to my friends. Enjoy the pics below.
Two visits during a week in Tampa is notable. The first was to grab a breakfast pastry and coffee. The case was filled with many delectable options. I chose a guava flip and cheese quesito and they were both delicious. The fillings were fresh and the doughs were light and crispy. The caramel latte was smooth without bitterness. The inside is spacious and clean. The outdoor patio is shaded so you can enjoy your food in the coolness. The staff is very friendly and professional. My second visit was for the empanadas which were warm and nicely flavored. Both the beef and chicken were perfectly seasoned in flaky pastry.
Great breakfast spot, the Cuban bread was very good. I had egg sandwich with avocado. Also had a cold brew. My only knock is they forgot the cheese on my sandwich. Otherwise great experience. 07/19/2024 Best Cuban Sandwich hands down. What adds is the Salami along with the Pork Loin and Ham
Classic Cuban sandwich! I'm a Tampa native and a true judge of an excellent Cuban. Also, the guava flip was to die for!
Amazing, place, I have to say better location and layout than the original in Ybor City. best Cuban bread you'll have in this area, best Cuban Sandwich I've ever had so far, the desserts were out of this world, the pineapple crumb cake was unbelievable, the Boston Cream pie was smooth and silky, the guava cheese turnovers were delicious, a lot of guava filling and cheese, not too overly sweet. We also had breakfast over there, it's nice to have a place to dine in, nice clean area, the staff was helpful. Our breakfast was amazing, we had their egg and cheese sandwich with bacon and chorizo, it was really good. Update: I got to say the best Deviled Crabs I've ever had are from this bakery, amazing flavor, spices, it has a little bit of heat, the crust is crunchy and soft in the inside, filling to breading ratio is perfect, you can't ask for better Deviled Crabs
La Segunda Bakery is hands down the best place in town when you’re craving Cuban sandwiches and fresh baked goods! The employees are always warm and welcoming, and they do an amazing job keeping up with customers. The restaurant is spotless, and the food is simply incredible. Definitely a must-visit spot!
First visit today for breakfast and we ordered bacon egg and cheese sandwiches, a cheese and guava pastry and a couple of empanadas. We also ordered one hot and one cold cafe con leche. The sandwiches were really big and we both only ate half and saved the other half for later. Everything is really good and fresh. This is a grab and go bakery as there is not even room for any seating. The staff is really nice and friendly and service is pretty quick even though the line was all the way to the door. I’m looking forward to returning to try a lunch sandwich and some of the other pastries.
Food 4/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Service 5/5 Great food! The prices are a great value. I split a Cuban sandwich with my dining partner. We also made it a combo with a coconut turnover and a lemonade. Excellent selection. I only put a 4/5 because I’d think it’d be nice if they had a black bean soup. I feel like black bean soup and a Cuban sandwich is heaven. They open from 6:30am to 3pm. They also have coffees and espresso.
I had the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich with absolutely delicious. Great coffee Great atmosphere will be back again, and the pastries look awesome. The guava and cheese was out of this world.
This is a place I definitely recommend you go to get a coffee and Cuban food. While we did not eat here, we had a coffee and looked at what people were eating and chatted with a few people who have been there before and said their food was spectacular. The staff was great and the coffee was excellent. We will definitely be back. Great job everybody who works there
I came here around 1pm on a weekday. Plenty of room. I ordered a couple Cuban sandwiches to go and a pressed cheesesteak sandwich for there. Also a cafe con leche. My coffee was made at the coffee bar and brought over within 2 minutes, and all the sandwiches and pastries within 5! Crazy! The cheesesteak was delicious! Just the right amount of flavorful aujus and cheese on a warm pressed bread. A little crunchy on the outside and soft inside. Perfect!!! I couldnt eat the sandwich and the pastry I bought. Saving the dessert for later.(Guava cheese flip) A must visit.
I placed a to go order in which the system had my order to be ready way later than expected and I had a flight to catch I explained this to Jasmine L and Sienna who immediately jumped in to literally save my day and got me out in time to catch my flight! Because of them I will definitely continue to return and have all of my business meetings here moving forward. Thank you Jasmine and Sienna!!
Believe the hype - home of the original Cuban sandwich, this was my first stop from the airport where I ordered one of those, a guava pastry and large cafe con leche. The servers were friendly, food was out fast and it was every bit as good as I’d dreamed. The salami on the Cuban is a nod to the early Italian population of Tampa and makes it better than its Miami counterpart in my opinion. The roast pork was flavorful, the bread fresh and perfectly pressed. The pastry was flaky and jammed full of guava and the coffee was delicious - can’t wait to come back to Tampa if for no other reason than to visit La Segunda!
Went to this place for the first time today around 1pm it was busy, the guy who took our order was super friendly and very helpful, I ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage and cheese and a Quesito pastry both were quite delicious. The only downside was they had no Diet Coke which was what I wanted other than that I would rate this place higher if I could. I Highly recommend this place for a Great sandwich and pastry
Food is good as expected. The highlight of my visit was Jasmine Lee. It was my first time and she was gracious in explaining all their items without being rushed. She was kind and hospitality-minded. After I paid for a to go order, we chatted a little and I mentioned it was my birthday; she offered a slice a cake right away. These little things matter when most places feel like you are inconveniencing them. I appreciate the care as it was refreshing. I am back again and someone else was at the register who did a very good job too. This place is a different; go check it out.
Great food. Friendly staff. Not much area for parking, but there is some. There aren't any tables or chairs to sit and eat. But the Cuban sandwich is delicious. Lots of pastries and other goodies to enjoy as well.
Always get a Cuban sandwich when in Tampa, usually at The Columbia. Also have been reading about La Segunda for years, but have never given them a try. This trip I discovered the shop on Kennedy and since it was more convenient than driving to Ybor City I finally got to try them and they did not disappoint! I was able to place the order on line for take out and it was ready as promised- even extra crispy they way I like them. Perfect Cuban sandwich! Atmosphere was clean and friendly, but not the charm and history of The Columbia. Since I was getting take out it was perfect.
This place is special. Space has a great feel/ vibe to it - urban rustic, and the smell of fresh baked bread and espresso fills the air when you walk in. Nice displays and everything looked amazing! Ordered pastries, breakfast sandwiches and coffee. The guava and cheese flip was phenomenal, only wish there would have been more cheese in it, but the texture of the pastry was on point. The Cuban bread they serve is world class! Definitely recommend and will return again when we come back to Orlando and Tampa
I had such a great experience working with Jasmine L. while planning my small baby shower at La Segunda. She was incredibly helpful from the very beginning, answering all my questions, providing every detail I needed, and making sure I felt confident about hosting my event. Jasmine went above and beyond, letting me know she’d support me with anything I needed throughout the process. Her kindness and professionalism made everything so much easier during such an important moment for me. Thank you, Jasmine, for making my planning experience smooth and stress-free! I truly appreciate you.
I recently came here for breakfast. Here’s what I thought. Atmosphere: The bakery is simply decorated with odes to its original location in Ybor. When you enter, on the left you can order food to go or dine in. On the right side, they have a coffee bar where you can sit and enjoy a coffee. They also have an area where you can pick up any food delivered. They also have a nice outdoor covered seating area. Restroom: They have a single stall bathroom. I didn’t check it out while I was there. Service: Everyone I encountered was super friendly! Food: I ordered a breakfast sandwich with eggs, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It was freshly made on Cuban bread. It was sooo good. I also got a cappuccino which was delicious! They also have a display case where you can buy fresh pastries and Cuban bread! La Segunda is a great place to come for an affordable, quick and delicious breakfast or lunch. If they were on the way to work, I’d stop in here for coffee! I’ll definitely be back. Best sandwiches in Tampa Bay! The bread it’s so delicious and the 6 inch it’s a perfect size, but if you are very hungry you can order a 9 inches one. They are delicious and the pastries so fresh and flavorful, specially the quesitos. They offer a variety of coffees and beverages. The service was excellent and quickly, also the prices are reasonable.
The Bible tells us that "Man cannot live on bread alone," but La Segunda has taught me that bread—when shared with the right people—can nourish something far deeper than hunger. I've been coming to this location for several years now, initially drawn by the famous Cuban toast and excellent coffee. What keeps bringing me back, though, isn't what's on the menu—it's who's behind the counter. Somewhere between my first visit and now, this place stopped being a restaurant and became something more like home. The staff here doesn't just serve you; they welcome you into their fold with a warmth that feels genuinely familial. New Momma Jay greets everyone with an infectious joy that transforms the room the moment she arrives. Her radiant smile and spirited personality have a way of putting people at ease, making even Monday mornings feel a little brighter. Cool Karan moves through the space with an effortless grace, delivering orders while trading good-natured banter about our local teams. There's an art to making people feel seen while keeping things running smoothly, and he's mastered it. Behind the scenes, Steady Danika works with quiet intensity, crafting what I'm convinced is the strongest and finest coffee in town. Her steady presence is the backbone of this place. Babyface Rodrigo always takes your order with genuine interest, asking about your day in a way that feels sincere rather than scripted. That kind of authentic care is rare. And Older Sister Stateswoman Beth—calm, collected, and wise—holds it all together with the steady hand of someone who understands that what they're really serving here isn't just breakfast, but community. This staff has created something special: a place where you don't feel like a customer, but like family stopping by for morning coffee. They've reminded me that sometimes the most nourishing thing isn't the food itself, but the people you break bread with. Thank you all for giving us more than a meal. You've given us a place to belong.
This Tampa original, now is in 5 areas. A fitting place in South Tampa nestled between some local favorites and a few national eateries and shops. Who can resist the over sized moist muffins and big desserts. Who tough to make a upside down pineapple mini bundt? Besides these favorites vying for attention from seasonal cookies and cakes, the salads and Tampa's favorite, the famous Cuban and other sandwiches. I first ordered food to the left side than moved over to the right side for beverages. Even though I usually try teas, today Cuban coffee took precedence, with second place going to cafe con leche. The accessible tables are spacious and leave room to feel cozy but not crowded. This is where Tampa's Cuban coffees, sweet treats, and casual eats collide.
Love coming here for breakfast. Whether you get a breakfast sandwich, cuban toast, or a pastry everything is fresh and tastes amazing. Don’t forget to get a cafe con leche with your breakfast. If the owners read this, please open a spot in Wesley Chapel, we need something like this out there.
Amazing pastries and great coffee! We got an assortment of their pastries to bring to work and they were all a hit. The guava and cheese were especially good and the pastry itself is so flaky and buttery. I had an iced mocha latte and it was not too sweet and a perfect balance of flavouring and coffee taste.
As a second generation Tampa native, La Segunda Central as we natives call it is our Go To place for great Cuban Bread, delectable guava pastries and authentic Cafe Con Leche Cuban Cofee. This is one of the oldest bakeries in the U.S. Don't forget the Cuban sandwiches and other variation sandwiches which are also wonderful. Great place, don't miss it.
Awesome Cuban bread. Pastries were all delicious too. Separate coffee bar so you don’t have to stand in the food line and vice versa. Both lines went really fast. Check out all of the pastries in my video.
Busy little place putting out great Cuban sandwiches. In my opinion the best bread on a Cuban I've ever had. The coffees are absolutely on point and the Secret Sauce they put on the sandwiches is something special. I guarantee once you've had one of the sandwiches you'll be hard-pressed to find better bread.
This location is my favorite. Excellent food and outstanding service. The pastries are phenomenal and so much to choose from. Limited vegan options but the avocado toast is great. Fluffy egg sandwich with a good amount of filling hits the spot. Smoothest cold brew too! Ample outside seating and crispy coke fountain soda is worth mentioning!
As a local business owner with Heaven Sent Roofing, we truly appreciate strong local staples that serve the community well, and La Segunda Bakery and Cafe is exactly that. This place is a Tampa icon. The Cuban bread is baked fresh daily, the sandwiches and pastries are top tier, and the coffee is always on point. It’s a great spot to grab breakfast or lunch, meet with team members, or support a long-standing family business that’s been part of the Tampa community for generations. Friendly staff, authentic atmosphere, and consistently excellent food. Highly recommend supporting this local gem.
Had breakfast at La Segunda this morning before heading to a Bucs football game. We arrived at 1020 am and it was not packed. You order your food at the register and then take your seat. The young lady at the register was friendly. We received our food pretty quickly. We ordered a breakfast ham and cheese sandwich. The Cuban bread was soft yet crunchy. We were too full to eat the papa relleno, pastelito, or chicken empanada so we took them to go. There are Togo plates at the exit to easily grab. The restaurant was clean and well kept. My husband’s only complaint was that it didn’t seem like anyone spoke Spanish and it’s a Cuban restaurant.
We loved this place. We had a small Cuban sandwich and a breakfast sandwich and cafe con leche. The food was excellent. The service was great. The staff was friendly. We ordered at the counter in the left as you walk in. They have us a number and asked it name. Our coffee came from the counter on the right and they called my name. The food came out based on the number. I want to try every sandwich on the menu.
La Segunda is open for breakfast and lunch. They have a full bakery (I wish I'd taken photos) and sandwich menu, but to be honest I'd go back for the Cuban coffee alone - it's that good. A friend that accompanied on my most recent trip hadn't stopped talking about the Cuban sandwich since. La Segunda is 100% worth a trip.
Breakfast here with my colleague Is a very good place they have planty of sandwiches choices for breakfast and lunch and is awesome. They also have amazing taste sweet. Coffe is little bit too strong for me But really nkce place
La Segunda Bakery and Cafe on Kennedy Ave is absolutely amazing! The Ham and Swiss sandwich was fresh, perfectly pressed, and loaded with flavor, while the Media Noche was the real star—soft, sweet bread packed with savory ham, Swiss, pork, salami, pickles, and their signature sauce. The quality and authenticity in every bite make this place a true Tampa treasure. Fast, friendly service and a welcoming vibe keep us coming back for more. If you’re craving classic Cuban sandwiches and pastries, this spot is a must-visit!
OMG had to have a Cuban sandwich while in Tampa. and La Segunda is the place to come get one. It was oh so delicious with just the right amount of meat. Yes, and had to get a flip gauva turnover for later... yummy 😋
La Segunda Bakery and Cafe is one of our go-to spots for breakfast, and it never disappoints. You can never go wrong with the classic combo of Cuban toast and a café con leche; comforting, flavorful, and always made just right! The breakfast sandwiches are another solid choice…hearty, fresh, and perfect for starting the day off right. Whether we’re ordering in for the office or grabbing something quick, La Segunda always delivers quality and flavor. A true Tampa gem!

I turned to the Internets and Yelp for guidance on the best Cubano in Tampa, and the consensus was clear: La Segunda. So when the team asked where we were going for lunch, I pointed us straight here. Four of us arrived around 11:45 to a short queue and a warm, efficient staff who took our order. Within five minutes, our sandwiches were at the table. My Cubano was excellent. Pressed flat with the right balance of ham, salami, roast pork, and Swiss cheese, plus just enough mustard to tie it all together. Absolute perfection. No notes. I've heard this place can get wildly busy, so for early January I was surprised the line wasn't longer. Maybe we lucked out today, because this was fantastic.
Hands down the best Cuban sandwich ever! Cuban sandwiches are my favorite sandwiches so I make sure to try them wherever I go in my quest to find an amazing one. La Segunda consistently beats every other Cuban sandwich by a lot. Their bread is just too good and they pile on the ingredients.

The food here is excellent, they really need to open more places. It's much faster to use Uber Eats to order from either location because it's so packed. The Cuban sandwiches are consistently the best I've tasted.
Visited this place for lunch and it was pretty good for a Cuban bakery/sandwich shop. We tried a couple of bakery items, and enjoyed the guava pastry in particular. We also ordered a couple of sandwiches, the Cuban and the Patrinostro. There was a 6” or 9” option and with only a couple dollar difference, we went with the 9”. This was plenty for each of us, and neither finished our sandwich. We enjoyed the Cuban sandwich more and it was flavorful and had good taste. The Patrinostro was decent, but unfortunately was dry and they were out of onions. Maybe they forgot the oil and vinegar? Overall, albeit slightly more expensive than other places, it was a good lunch. We would likely be back when we’re in the area again.
Good place with delicious food and with the opportunity to upgrade a sandwich, but the service was not so great. I ordered online and they forgot to put to my order one of the drinks, also one of the baking was out of stock. I had to come back for a drink, and the money for pastries was returned. Maybe it's happened due to the high occupancy of the restaurant at that moment, but I guess they can improve the pickup system.
Opened this past week. As such, it was packed on a Sunday morning. While busy, we were able to find a table for 2 OK. Our next visit will be smoother now that we know where and how to order/pay and how/where to pick-up food and beverages (2 separate pick-up areas inside). They have done their homework. Nice selection of breakfast sandwiches and baked goods. Same with the lunch offerings. Fresh loaves of Cuban bread for sale (wrapped in either paper or plastic bags). Cafe con leche (both regular and decaf) was OK, but not great perhaps due to their (unknown) choice of coffee, the taste varies a lot depending on the brand. Sandwiches are freshly made to order which translates to a longer wait. Breakfast sandwiches are IMHO a tad too small given the price point -- another 2 to 3 inches longer overall would suffice. The cafe proper was well lit, neat, continually cleaned and well staffed by very pleasant folks. Menu boards (in case you missed picking up a menu by the front door) are laid out well & easy to read. There is even a hand sanitizer foam dispenser by the front door. All in all it was a good experience. Will return again during the week for lunch.
Beware coffee is scalding hot! I come for the food and pastries which are excellent but I keep forgetting how ridiculously hot they make their café con leche. Immediately ripped the skin off the roof of my mouth so I couldn't take another sip even when it cooled down considerably. Not the first time it happens. Please educate your barristas before something bad happens. I can't imagine accidentally spilling it on someone. Safety hazard for sure.
The place got so many good reviews, I thought I will wait in line, but to my surprise, not that many people. Was worry that this place is overrated. The breakfast sandwich cost more than other places, but it is a full Cuban bread with lots of bacons. The coffee is also right and actually made from a different stations across the counter. Other items are also very nice.
Super sweet nice counter girl. She was very attentive and helpful. The food was good. Had 2 sandwiches which came out as ordered. Had 2 different pastries which was delicious. I left a nice tip as usual and the only reason I mentioned this is because I didn't have any forks or napkins in the bag. Lately whenever I get food to go few establishments put plastic wear in the bag? The location was pretty clean.
I have been in Tampa for a long time now and had never visited the famous La Segunda Bakery. We wanted to sit down and eat so we chose the Kennedy Avenue location over the original location due to that. The place is very ample and spacious with plenty of tables and seats. The booth was comfortable, but I do have to say that the floor and some of the tables were not very clean. Debris and other items strewn about. That being said, the food was excellent, and well worth it. I would definitely come back here.
This is lovely place to be. Their pastries look so good when you come in the store. It is easy and simple to order. They will give you the number. It is a little confusing because you have to listen to the number when they called out. You have to go to the bar to pick up your coffee or drink from the barista. Then you have to listen to your number again because this person will bring out the foods and call out the number to find you. That's why we were so confused. Also the parking is very limited because some parking space are 15 minutes limit. But I do enjoyed the pastries and the cafe con leche.

Super sweet nice counter girl. She was very attentive and helpful. The food was good. Had 2 sandwiches which came out as ordered. Had 2 different pastries which was delicious. Went to get the berns anniversary steak sandwich and it's definitely not worth the hype or $18. I got the last of a few at 11am. Was expecting chunks of ribeye and it was really just Philly meat. I love truffle too and the sauce didn't really hit. This was definitely a miss for me. Ordered a media noche as well and that was much better than the over hyped steak sandwich. The service was a fast as it could be for how packed it was. Waited about 30 mins for my order, but the girls were coming out left and right pushing them out quickly.
I’ve been coming to La Segunda for years, the food has always been excellent. No complaints. Today I placed an order for Cuban toast and a sandwich, after 25 minutes I still didn’t receive my food, I saw other people that came after me getting there food so I went back up to the register and asked to check on my order, the cashier Asked for my name re-printed a receipt and just walked to the back. I got his attention again and ass was the order not put in initially, he said yes, and that’s it. No sense of customer service or being apologetic, no explanation. Waited an additional 15 minutes and finally got my food. Again, the food is always amazing here, but you lose points when you don’t pay attention to details and reassure your customers about what’s going on.
We went on Saturday morning and the staff seemed overwhelmed. A bit chaotic. Our order got lost and we had to go and request it again. The food wasn’t bad though. My order was also messed up - but I just ate what came regardless. But the lack of organization was frustrating. Seats inside and outside were fine.
South Tampa prices, but not the cleanliness or quality that should command. $20.81 for a Cuban, small drink and chips. 15% tip. Don’t know why anyone would tip more at cafeteria but that was the lowest option. One half of the sandwich was missing 25% of the bottom bread. Meat is still higher quality than most Cuban places. But $21 and that’s the quality. Plus the restrooms are destroyed. Out of paper towels, trash over flowing. Mopped yesterday. Maybe.

The breakfast sandwich was okay. The cafe con leche was good.
Drove from Wesley Chapel to get take out. Wanted 5 deviled crabs and this location only had two. Ordered 12” Cubans and got 9”. Ugh! Will go to Ybor location in the future to see if there is improvement. Hope so as the food is really good but this aspect has to improve!! You think they would have thrown a pastry in for all of the issues!
For the last few years I stopped in for Media Noche to go when I went to that area of Tampa. Lately the quality of the meats on this sandwich has significantly declined and 3 weeks ago was my last visit. Inedible!
I ordered the breakfast sandwich with breakfast steak, provolone, and egg. The meat was completely unseasoned, so it just tasted like mush pretty much. I also got a fresh fruit cup, which was not fresh. Either they keep it in a fridge that's so cold it freezes fruit (which are mostly made of water) or they do just freeze it, but either way, all of the fruit were frozen in my cup. When i entered the restaurant to pick up my food, no one greeted me, no one asked me what my name was so they could get my order. I just stood by the bar for 10-15 minutes until someone finally asked what I was waiting for. The parking is a mess and the interior is dark and cramped.
I ordered what I thought was a cuban sandwich. It was not pressed. It had salami and honey mustard! Cubans don’t put salami and honey mustard. It fell apart while i was eating it. Maybe these people need to go to Miami and learn how a cuban sandwich is made and how to properly press a sandwich. I paid $23 that’s with tip and it was not worth my money.
The food is good, the atmosphere okay but noisy the service nonexistent. Very expensive without the service to go with it. $23.00 a person for 2 people. Our coffee didn't come out until we where done with our meal and got met with an attitude when I went to the counter to ask for our coffee. Not a place worth visiting. It's all name and nothing else.

I was excited to visit La Segunda's Kennedy Blvd location, knowing the original bakery has been a Tampa institution for over 100 years, renowned for its authentic Cuban bread. Unfortunately, my experiences here left me wondering if this particular outlet is simply riding on that storied reputation rather than delivering on its promise. My first visit, about an hour before their 3:30 PM closing, set a poor precedent. I ordered a Cuban coffee and a guava cheese dessert. The dessert was noticeably stale, tasting far from fresh. The coffee itself was surprisingly generic; there was nothing distinctly "Cuban" about it. Service was a significant letdown. Despite the cafe being practically empty, the staff seemed more focused on closing up shop than attending to customers. I had to remind them twice to bring my dessert, which felt unnecessary given the lack of other diners. Hoping for a different outcome, I gave it a second chance. This time, I ordered the cherry cheesecake and a cortadito. The cheesecake tasted distinctly commercial, with a cherry filling that lacked any homemade touch or freshness. The cortadito, meant to be a strong, condensed coffee, was equally unauthentic and disappointing. It's truly a shame that a branch of such a historic and beloved brand could deliver such a lackluster experience. It feels like this location isn't upholding the legacy that made La Segunda famous.
If you’re on your way to work do not stop here. Came to grab an avocado toast and breakfast sandwich and it took 27 minutes with an empty restaurant. Being a Tampa staple and breakfast place you would think they would be quicker. Will still come, but when I have absolutely nothing to do.
Horrible food/coffee and highly unorganized staff. Asked for two double espressos and received two half-filled cups of regular coffee which had an undrinkable amount of sugar, and one cup even had some kind of creamer (which I didn't ask for). We also order two pastries, which were extremely dry and cold, tasted like cardboard.
If I could give them a zero rating, I would . I waited for 76 mins for a sandwich only to find out it still wasn’t ready. I spoke to the person at the front and they went back there 3 times to check . The sandwich still wasn’t ready. Don’t you think if you go to the cashier to order they should tell you it’ll be an hour or more for a sandwich? NOT! Then when I wanted to speak to a manager, they would not come out.
Ordered a BLT. It should be called an LT cause you put 2 pieces of bacon on a big Cuban. I had to take off some lettuce cause they had so much. If that’s the amount you give out normally then you should have an option to add more bacon.

I typically enjoy visiting La Segunda Central Bakery on Kennedy and have had positive experiences in the past. Unfortunately, today was very different. I was planning to celebrate an employee achievement, and they chose La Segunda for the occasion. After collecting my team’s orders, I attempted to place them online, only to see a message at checkout stating that online orders were no longer being accepted. Confused, I called the bakery — where the automated recording stated that all orders are now accepted online. The contradiction was frustrating. When I pressed 0 to speak with a manager, the customer service experience only worsened. I understand that businesses get busy, but there is no need to be dismissive or raise your voice to a customer. I was repeatedly told there was a 30-minute wait and that online ordering had been turned off, but the tone and delivery were unnecessarily unpleasant. A basic principle of customer service is that a smile can be heard through the phone — unfortunately, that was not the case here. As a result, I had to make last-minute arrangements to celebrate my employee at another establishment. I hope La Segunda addresses both the communication inconsistencies and customer service approach moving forward. Do better, La Segunda.
