Even though I had to wait on line towards the counter to place my order.....it was worth it. The young lady who took the order took orders expertly and quickly gave you the options that went with the meals. Delicious food given in large portions. I ordered arroz con gandules, pernil, and yuca encebollado. Yummy!! Now I understand why the long wait and the people waiting in their cars eagerly anticipating their beeper to notify that their order was ready !
Love love love it here. Great selection of DR-origin menu items. Menu changes some everyday so fresh specials can be offered; otherwise they always have a base of menu foods. Depending on what you order, your meal may be made from scratch while you wait. Service couldn't be friendlier. Children's Menu section caters to more picky eaters.
Great food and friendly staff they really make you feel you are home. The food is awesome and the staff are outstanding the prices were very affordable and tasty as well. I will definitely share this with my neighbors and friends keep up the great work.
Excellent comfort food at an excellent price. I had the Cuban sandwich and mac & cheese. The mac & cheese was intensely cheesy! It needed salt, but that's greatly preferred over being oversalted. I used some seasoned salt and that put it over the top. Delicious! I look forward to trying more dishes here.
Been to this location multiple times. Always get the chicken and cheese Empanadas. Delicious. Staff is always friendly and always has nice music playing. English and Spanish speaking and will help you out by explaining the menu to you. 5 star!
Maybe the best Dominican food I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant! Fresh, clean, super authentic. Ignore any negative reviews (there are very few anyway), they were obviously written by people who simply don’t know Dominican food.
Small place, clean, and calid good vibes. Staff is so nice and respectful. The food is great.
Everything I've had here is homemade and excellent all the way down to the fresh cut sweet potato fries. 110% percent worth a visit if you want to try something new.
I gave this restaurant 5 stars because of the service! The young lady who helped us was patient, pleasant and all around kind! The food itself was just ok. I'm from up north and grew up on Dominican and Puerto Rican food so I was expecting a similar experience. The rice needed some sofrito and cabbage was a little bland. The beef and cheese Empanada was pretty good though. Maybe I'll come back to try more things off the menu in the future!
We visit this place a few times per year since we have to drive an hour to get there. The food is delicious. Every time we go, the wife goes crazy ordering stuff. The people are nice, definitely recommend it
No thrills puro Dominican food. Absolutely delicious! Huge portions and plenty of food to enjoy if you’re ever driving through looking for good Latin cuisine
WOW!!!! WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. This might the best pork we've ever ordered! The chicken is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The rice is so good, I couldn't stop eating it. Spectacular house-made empanadas. Great service. Wish we could give more stars!!
I drove 2hrs and 47 min to get here and I am NOT DISAPPOINTED. The baked chicken and fried snapper was the best I've had in forever!! Well seasoned, tender and so satisfying. I was dancing eating my fish and chicken...that's how much I enjoyed my food. I've struggled with low appetite for months until tonight. I can finally say I've enjoyed a meal... for the first time in the last 2 months. Thank you so much for being the best part of my day!!! I will definetly be back when I visit again. Marsha
Food here is fantastic. First time coming here and they didn’t disappoint. The customer service is amazing, employees here are so sweet too. I will definitely be coming back For detail I got the white oven roasted chicken platter with rice/beans and sweet plantains. Chicken was juicy and tender, and sweet plantains were delicious. I also got a mango juice and dulce de coco for dessert. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend this place.
If you are a born New York City person, you know about the food, and this place is a taste of NYC Spanish/Dominican food. This NYC lady absolutely loves this place!
This place is always great. They have to have one of the best Cuban sandwiches in the triad. Always fresh always delicious. Price of food matches quality. May help if you know Spanish lol but it is always a great customer service
I LOVE this place the first time I found La Palma I came back three more times that same week, and I don't normally eat out that often. This is the best Spanish Caribbean food I've ever had. I'm a native New Yorker and being honest it's hard to find good authentic Dominican food anywhere. I've talked to the family they are amazing people. I highly recommend everyone to try this place out, you won't regret it.
I love this place, by far the best Dominican food in Greensboro. My home away from home lol!! Whenever I get homesick I go and grab me a plate. Lovely customer service. They are fast and reliable!
Got empanadas with chicken/beef and potatoe balls filled with meat. The food was freshly fried, crunchy, and amazing. Get the limeade to drink, be prepared for a lime tree slap, that's how fresh it is. This Caribbean(Dominican) food, is not spicy, but rather seasoned properly and delicious. Eat here now.
I did get photos of the food but it was good and will go back. Looking to hire to serve food at catering an event for us. I was only disappointed with the wasakka dressing, but I very spoiled from a restaurant that makes it in DR in Santiago.
Amazing fresh and authentic food that reminds me of days in san juan, tho it is labeled dominican / carribean food "La Palma" is as boricua as ur gttn in a predominately Hispanic city with chimis bolitos, maduros, tostones, ox tails and empanadas(or pastellios) and fresh pinnapple, passionfruit juices and bottled maltas u will leave satisfied and soon to return for more, also there is a fresh coconut vendor outside the store thatll chop one open and shove a straw in it fpr some authentic coco drink if i could give it 15 stars i would....amazing! 😍
One of my favourite spots to eat. The people are amazing to interact with and the food tastes AMAZING. It's an authentic Dominican experience all-around. The prices are a bit high depending on what you order (but that's sort of true everywhere these days), but the food here won't leave you regretting your visit and you'll be good and full from the portions. I highly recommend the Tres Golpes.
Fairy good fall, different types of juices, sour sap, passion, fruit, homemade
For a change of latin food, this place delivers that. The portions are generous and very filling. A hidden gem, however you will have to wait few for your meal, this is not a fast paced food service, but we'll worth the long lunch wait
My favorite dish on the menu is the roasted pork shoulder. Consistently tender, flavorful, and good portions. If the yellow rice and pigeon peas are available, they’re also a must try. Service is always great-efficient, kind, and friendly. They do have dine in availability.
Really good! I love the yuca fries (some of the best we’ve had) plantains and tostones!! Very hearty, rich, filling food. The meat dishes are always well seasoned and nice size portions! I’ve liked everything I’ve tried. The staff is welcoming as well.
Great service overall. Made my takeout order over the phone. When I took some time to get there, I was called just for a check i because they were concerned my food was getting cold. That just never happens. Place looks great - clean, tidy. Had a nice Caribbean vibe with vibrant colors and Dominican music playing at a good volume through huge speakers in the dining area. Kitchen is clean. Staff is friendly.
All I can say is wowww, taste of home in nyc, queens an mastic long Island, found nice Dominican spot in greensboro food excellent, the fried chechuron, the beef trop soup ,delicious dow. Too last drop ,empinada, an eroscodules rice an beans, think I spell that's wrong but ask for it evey thing on menu is bussing. Think one day in week close think it Monday all I no is fri sat an sun they open an all food cooked with love u see the family vibes up in there woman an the men are so polite an they feed u like long lost son. Lol stop bye an get a plate or too,
When you want some real food In Greensboro, this is the best place to go if you’re tired of eating at fast food like McDonald’s and stuff like McDonald’s and you want some real food I recommend this place 10/10 My Favorite place to go I drive 36 min just to get there That’s how good it is and the service is amazing It feels like they actually like their jobs. They always have a smile and very welcoming.
Delicious carribean cuisine, generous portions and reasonably priced. Lil spot like a diamond in a ruff. Staff very friendly, clean environment.
I am never disappointed when I come here. It is very authentic, and the customer service is awesome sauce. I tried something new, which was beef tripe soup today. I done bought 2 of them, lol. Thank you for such flavor of love😋❤️😋❤️😋❤️😋❤️
I’ve been coming to this place since I lived in Florida when I come up to visit North Carolina the food has always been great and went there today and the wife was like eating love on a plate. Amazing always will continue to go there. Can’t wait for next weekend to come back Service is amazing. Great food must say so far the best Spanish food in North Carolina hands-down
Eating here since 2024 enjoyed half the menu 9.5 / 10
A bit pricy, but food is always fresh and del is delicious!
The fried chicken thighs are amazing. The side dishes like yellow rice and beans, sweet plantains, tostones are also delicious. The portions are large. The staff is very friendly, always smiling.
The food is amazing ! I’m a very picky eater and the food taste just like you are eating it in Dominican Republic!! Will definitely be driving down there again !
To think I would find a little bit of heaven in Greensboro and find this jewel. NC is not really known for having real authentic Latin cuisine and to find this place was truly amazing. That pernil was BOMB! The meat was tender and juicy and the skin of it was crunchy as it should be. You can never go wrong with yuca, yellow rice and the beans hit the mark! The restaurant is very clean, especially the bathroom as well. The people that work there are super friendly and gracious. The fact that even my grandma wants to come back is always a good sign. For the price of the plates, it well worth it because the portions are huge. The mangú was the only thing I would say was okay. But I know they have different dishes for it so I would be happy to explore the other ones. But if you don't like pernil l, the chicken from the pic above was simply :kiss chef:. So we'll season, aromatic, and juicy. Definitely a must go if you are in Greensboro.
If there is a long line, the service can be slow. This is like a fast food restaurant where you order, pay, and then sit and wait and grab a table. The fried yuca with red onions is EXCELLENT
Food tastes great, portions are large and staff is friendly. The place is clean including the bathrooms. This is the second time I've come here and I have not been disappointed... if you are looking for a place to get some homemade food and not having to spend a lot of money search no more!
I ordered food from here yesterday for pick-up. The food and service was amazing. I appreciated how they knew my name. Five stars are not enough. I will be back soon! Thank you 😊 🙏🏾
Delicious flavorful food, I love this place! Clean establishment with friendly service, affordable with good sized portions. I would recommend the La Palma or Chimi sandwich with tostones if you’re new/uncertain. The mofongo, cuban sandwhich, fried shrimp platter, beef empanadas and bollitos de papa are also good. They offer other traditional dishes too, and everything I’ve gotten from here has been amazing. Order at the counter and seat yourself, they’ll give you a buzzer and you pick up your food once it’s ready. Definitely one of the best spots in Greensboro! 🤩 100/10 would recommend
OMG! This place is fabulous. Try everything. If flavor is what your looking for. You'll find it here. I watched them drop that Sazon on the food in the kitchen. Definitely coming back.
Absolutely delicious! 😋 Culinary masterpieces on all three plates that we got! Pork belly was the best I have had in years! Staff treats everyone as if they're beloved family.
One of my favorite spots in Greensboro! It gives me a taste of home while I’m not near my family and the service is always super friendly and great atmosphere. Try them out if you haven’t!
First and foremost the customer service is AMAZING, but most importantly the food is JUST as amazing as the service, everything we ordered was fresh, great quality and made with love. Never been to this place as we are new to the area, but looks like we found a place to visit on a weekly basis. Interior was clean and i love the bonus of them having roll of napkins on the tables along with Clorox wipes if you want to sanitize your table prior to your food being ready.
Hole in the wall in an old strip mall. By far the best Dominican Food Restaurant in the Triad. From outside you may miss it if you blink. Very simple place with ample sitting or you can take out. Even better, they also cater, offering each dish in half & full tray sizes at reasonable prices. Their Pernil.... Spanish pulled pork....is amazing. Juicy and flavorful, slow cooked with garlic, mojo and lots of love, get it with Yuca(Cassava) & Sweet plantains as your sides. Chicharrón de pollo (fried chicken pieces with bone in) is perfectly crispy on the outside and tender juicy on the inside. They have other Caribbean favorites like Mofongo and crispy chicken, beef or cheese empanadas(stuffed patties). The staff is friendly and even though you order at the counter, they bring everything to your table and will return to make sure everything is to your satisfaction. The head cook is the owner and she wants to make sure everyone leaves satisfied. Don’t forget to try one of the traditional drinks like tamarindo, limonada, piña, etc. Best representation of the Caribbean in the Triad
Awesome place, service, and flavor food. The food was so good that I jumped in and forgot to take a picture. I had to wait a long time for the food, but the food came out fresh and amazingly tasty. Great service, keep up the good work...!!!
Native New Yorker living in NC now. My ex-wife is Dominican, and her family can get DOWN in the kitchen. This place did not WOW me. Maybe the first Dominican place I've been to that didn't have waitresses. I had the rice and beans with chicken. Usually, I've had it rotisserie style, but I'm not sure exactly how this breast was prepared. Nevertheless, it was decent but not mind-blowing by any means. My friend had the Mofongo with chicharon, which is mashed up plantains with pork pieces (fat attached), and he loved it. They're Christian, so they don't sell any beer. The Christian music music playing over head along with a window sign for attending Bible studies further confirmed my suspicions. Considering there aren't many Dominican spots to eat here in Greensboro, I would venture to say they probably do pretty well. I just don't see myself running back any time soon. Alas, my Dominican food cravings will have to wait until I can visit NY again.
First let me say the food choices and taste was great but the meat was a bit dry at the time I came. But besides that everything was great.
Food is ok, they seasoning is more base on salt, I don't mean that food is salty or anything, en la cocina de mama restaurant you can teste the seasoning but they're very expensive and can over charge you, but en la Palma the price is ok but the food teste like they only used salt.
Wonderful food. The rice alone is great!!
Sweet plantains sucks, they hard. Not many chicken offerings but the portions are worth the price. Rice and the beans were good and well done. Salad was fresh. Kids meals is a great portion as well. Passion fruit juice was delicious. They charge for cup of ice. And search everything in a to go container. Plenty of parking and you sit yourself after you order.
We’ve been here a few times. Their lechon (baked pork) is delicious. I also like their arroz with gandules. I’ve never had yuca with onions on top before and was pleasantly surprised that it tastes very good. They offer natural Caribbean juices, which I always get. Prices are reasonable and portions are okay.
I am shouting this place out because it is real Dominican restaurant in North Carolina. This is a family owned business and I am told they do great job of bringing that real Dominican taste to every dish. I like there open kitchen were you see them making your food and bathrooms are clean. You can do takeout or dine-in. They have high chairs.
Nice people but the food is getting worse and worse. Hope they change their way of cooking to the delicious food when they first opened. If not we will start going to the new Dominican restaurant in Greensboro.
So the empanadas was good. The chicken quarter dark meat was dry and plain, so was the rice and beans. It’s cooked well, just plain and needs flavor. it came with a tangy sauce, kind of disappointing. The portions are definitely it though!! So maybe if you tried another meal on the menu it would be better than the simple chicken meat.
Food wasn't good, rice was mushy and overcooked. The chicken I got was ok, but my husbands chicken was very dry and tasted old.
I purchased the ox tail special it came with Aroz and ensalada. The food was good but the service from the women there was extremely rude. I asked for a to go bag and she looked furious and when I said thank you in Spanish she gave me attitude; I wasn’t being funny I am Latina. I won’t be going back to a place where they serve good food with alot of hate!
