This is definitely a gem! Super cute little place with a ton of different soda varieties. Absolutely loved the old Knick knacks and deco. The portion sizes are huge! If you order a full sandwich be prepared to save some or share with a friend. Ingredients were fresh and bread was perfectly soft. The Mac salad had all the right ingredients but was missing some flavor. I added a little salt and pepper and it was good to go! I love this place and will definitely be back

First ever at this establishment. I ordered a whole turkey sandwich to go. The sandwich was very well made and fresh! Couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'll definitely be back to order and enjoy their food!

This place is aaaaaaaamazing!!! Really fast and friendly service, the sanwhiches are stacked up and full of meat! The drink options are amazing as well, they have all kinds of root beer and other sodas to choose from as well as a great chip selection. I will be making this a weekly thing 😉.

WOW! I've always passed by this spot and wondered if it's good and sheesh it is GREAT. Lemon Groves best sandwich spot hands down!! I got the Cheese Steak, Pulled Pork, and their award winning chili and all 3 did not disappoint. The cheese steak was very filling and the steak was incredibly tender I couldn't believe it. The Pulled Pork was absolutely delicious and once you add the bbq sauce which is nice and tangy it elevates the pork even more. The chili was by far my favorite, it had a nice spicy kick to it and each spoonful had me going in for more. There's not much else I can say, if you're in the area this is a MUST GO TO spot you will but be let down. I'll be sure to come back for more!

Quaint little sammich shop in lemon Grove. The godfather is my go-to. Half is a good-sized grinder. Go full if you have been in the desert for 40 days. They have a large assortment of root beers that my son loves.

A colleague recommended this establishment during my business trip to lemon grove. I am glad I tried it, I got a tuna sandwich with a side of potato salad some chips ana a coke. The potato salad was the best I've ever had, delicious 😋 my tuna sandwich was also deliciously tasty. I most definitely recommend this place. 10/10

This location has been there since 1972, still standing on its own feet as one of the best. If you're a local San Diegian, then you know this is the spot to get a great sandwich for a decent price. I highly recommend you try it out. Several generations of my family still come here to this day. Also, one of the last older gems is still standing in the city of Lemon Grove. They have a massive selection of root beer for you to try aswell as some other fun exotic drinks and sodas. It's located off of Broadway right behind the Mario's family clothing store. Maaaaaan listen. AS SOON AS WE PULLED UP WE KNEW THIS SPOT WAS ABOUT TO BE THABOMB.COM Super tiny stand alone spot. Super friendly staff. Adorable inside (I wish I would have taken pics of!) retro bottles and paraphernalia. A tally board of the best root beer that they sell. I'm telling be you, this place is just so unsuspecting and nostalgic that you're already excited before the food even comes out. Okay, enough about aesthetics, let's get to the good stuffffff 😬 Pastrami. They have it. You don't know it yet, but you need it, okay? Get their hot pastrami sammich or whatever sammich has pastrami on it. So good with a rye roll? NOM NOM. My partner and I split that, an Italian sausage with cheese, marinara, and veggies and then proceeded to buy two bottles of their most tallied root beer, a ginger beer, and a grap soda. All brands you've never seen or heard of, and all in glass bottles. Frickin adorbs. AMAZING portion size. Quality food you can taste. Love in every bit. Go check em out!!

This place is a hidden gem for me. I've seen it in the past driving before and you can tell it's something special just by seeing the outside. I'm glad that I finally made a point to finally visit. All of the Sandwiches are super bomb! So good!!! The price is great and the portions are huge. Please support this local business it will be worth it.

Had the Godfather sandwich. A pleasant surprise. Biggest subsandwich I have ever had. Over stuffed. This was my first trip to this shop, I will definitely return. A customer gereated me outside around lunchtime, he said, "the best sub in the world". I agree with him. I have half in the fridge now, and the pictures are after I had lunch, a beer 🍺 and a Godfather. I hope the owner is Italian, I feel like the Godfather from 1972. I was treated like the Don, Don Carlione.

They knocked out a party tray for 50 people in less than an hour when my scheduled vendor canceled on me. The feedback from the staff was that Grove Grinder sandwiches are better, and why don't we order from them from now on!!! Great service and delicious sandwiches that are huge in size.

Spent roughly 20 years on the East Coast, most of it in the Philadelphia area. Great work this team does of replicating something I would have eaten at a local pizza shop in Philly. So far I've had the Hoagie and Spicy Italian. Deli meats are much better than any chain restaurant would have. Don't be afraid of "the works" if your eating a hoagie style sandwich. They have a BUNCH of different root beers, if that's your thing. Shop is pretty small and tight. But you don't go-to a place like this for the ambiance.

Love Grove Grinder! Every weekend I’ve got friends over at my house working on our race car, and one of the most common lunches we get for the group is Sandwiches from Grove Grinder! As an East Coast native the decor and vibe of the restaurant reminds me of an older sandwich shop in the Northeast. A good change of pace from the (fantastic) Mexican taco shops all over San Diego.

I’ve lived in Lemon Grove almost 2 years and have passed by here so many times, well today I stopped!! So glad I did, small joint, but great service, variety and HUGE subs!! I had the smoked chicken cheesesteak with bacon!! Great flavor, messy in the best way possible!! Guy taking orders is funny and the lady in the back means business!! Definitely going back and you should check em out too!! Subway my a$$!!

Great sandwiches as always. Need to have a restroom for when you dine in. Menu and prices are great.

Picked up a hot pastrami foot long. It only had a slither of pastrami, I tasted the veggies more than the pastrami. Very disappointing.

Place is way overrated based on quality and reviews. The whole sandwiches are big but it doesn't make them better, nothing special. The Granny lady (hope she's not the owner) was really rude but the other employees were nice. Not a traditional Italian deli like you'd expect. NO RESTROOMS, which should be standard in 2026. Trust me food is mediocre and the location and parking are awful. Not coming back!
