Valentine's Day dinner! What s charming place, very busy but still they took good care of us. Sat at the pony bar while our table was prepared, bartender was lovely and made great drinks. Dinner was in the veranda room, roses on the table and lovely atmosphere. Our waiter Jack was sweet and helpful. Steak frites was amazing, with this delicious rich cognac au poivre sauce and roasted garlic herb fries. Steak cooked to perfection! Shrimp cargot starter was wonderful. The owner was lovely. The cigar box was for the check.

During our vacation in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, we discovered the charming town of Lewes and came across a truly special restaurant: Bramble & Brine at The Buttery. It’s not just a meal here — it’s an experience I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. 🏡 Historic Charm & Unique Atmosphere The restaurant is housed in a historic little building with so much character. From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by vintage décor and a nostalgic, carefully curated ambiance. One detail that really stood out to me was the painting of the “Princess of Sicily,” which I had to stop and admire after reading about it in reviews. The whole setting feels both intimate and meaningful — the kind of place where history and hospitality blend seamlessly. 🍽️ Exceptional Food While the prices are on the higher side, the food makes it absolutely worth it. We ordered a few dishes recommended by the staff, and every one of them was outstanding: • Crab Cake – hands down one of the best I’ve had in a long time: flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully cooked. • French-style Oysters – fresh, elegant, and bursting with flavor. • Lamb – tender, rich, and simply unforgettable. Each plate showed great attention to detail and a level of craftsmanship that left us impressed. 🤝 Outstanding Service The service here is just as memorable as the food. The staff took time to patiently walk us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and frequently checked in to make sure the dishes suited our taste. Their warmth and attentiveness elevated the entire dining experience. 🌈 Inclusive & Welcoming Another highlight is the warm and inclusive atmosphere. The restaurant is proudly LGBTQ-friendly, which adds to the sense of openness and comfort. It feels like a space where everyone is welcome to enjoy a fine dining experience. In short, Bramble & Brine is a gem — historic, beautifully decorated, inclusive, with top-notch service and food that rivals some of the best I’ve ever tried. When I return to Rehoboth Beach, this will be at the top of my list to visit again. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely worth the experience!

Our Bramble & Brine dining experience was most pleasurable, an oasis of sorts, where the friendliness of the entire crew, the decor, the food, the service, were all on point and allowed us to relax, enjoy and linger--a perfect storm of a good evening. My wife and I had an excellent pre dinner cocktail at the bar, which in itself is an inviting area. For dinner, we were not particularly hungry, so ordered a few appies: the Escargot, Crab Dip Skillet, and my favorite, the Soft Shell Crab Caesar salad, which gets a "Yum". All accompanied by a nice cabernet. As you might guess by now, loved the place. Cheers!

Simply amazing! Everything from cocktails to dessert was beyond my expectations! We were a party of three and each dish was well prepared, well presented, and delicious! Staff was friendly and professional and knowledgeable about all things on the menu. Decor is outstanding and eclectic and very well done. Will definitely be back soon!

Beyond thrilled this restaurant has come back!! Cheers to the owner & entire staff, special appreciation to David our server who clearly takes his role seriously & demonstrates a sincere interest in the guest he servers. He is well versed on the menu items, confident in his recommendations & suggestions. The food was absolutely delicious-bravo to the chef in their use of creativity-sauces on all dishes were worth bottling up and selling! The ambiance of this restaurant is one to be admired-wishing to come back and dine over and over with the hope to experience each different nook/room. The care and respect shown to the internal and external areas adds to the elevated experience for those who work here & dine here. Hospitality, Rooted in the Culture of this community coupled with a seasonal menu of deliciousness (food & cocktails) Highly recommended! Visited on Thursday 6/30/22

Not my first and not my last! I cant recommend enough that if you want the ultimate fine dining experience then you must request David to be your server. From the warm sincere greeting at the door to the “come back and see us again” the whole ambiance is just fabulous! I love the old Victorian house, especially the dishes, pony glasses, and outdoor seating. I always get treated with special touches and this time didn’t disappoint. Chef Paul and his team made me a special appetizer of Fried green tomatoes with fresh crab cake in a sauce that was to die for. Tried some new signature cocktails from Kiki at the bar… Bramble Lemonade and the Blood Orange Margarita also no disappointment there! Fresh fish of the day was Atlantic Salmon with house made ratatouille and roasted potatoes. Always end with a chocolate heaven cake. Food was just fabulous!!!

Bramble and Brine at The Buttety was the perfect location for a small brunch baby shower. David and his team were absolutely amazing! They were very attentive and accommodating to all request. The atmosphere was very elegant and simplistic at the same time which required very few decorations.

Stopped here for some drinks after dinner and boy what a treat 🥂 The decor, the names of the drinks, the drinks themselves, the bartenders, and even the patrons all came together to provide a great experience 😊 Everyone is welcome here and I recommend bringing friends or a date, as you’re going to want to try every cocktail on the menu! The only issue is that everything is expensive, but it's the beach so what do you expect? 🏖️💸 Hope to see this place thriving for years to come

We dined at Bramble & Brine yesterday and the standout experience was undoubtedly the exceptional service provided by our server David from California. His attentiveness, knowledge of the menu, and friendly demeanor greatly enhanced our dining experience. We ordered the mussels, the meatloaf Wellington, and the chicken cordon Bleu. All of the dishes were fantastic and the desserts (peanut butter cake and cheese cake) were great too. I highly recommend this restaurant for both its delectable dishes and outstanding customer care.

Walking around Lewes, this place just looked so nice, we wandered in. Good decision, as we had a terrific night. Our server was Tracy, & she was delightful! Our meals were excellent. Restaurant is bright & comfortable. Great views for people watching. Pricey, but worth it, and we'll definitely return soon.

Had a Sunday brunch, this place is remarkable. Really nice food prepared with thought and care. It's definitely on the high end price wise, but if you're looking to splurge and enjoy a nice meal, check out their menu. If it resonates with you, go for it! The meal in the picture is their bramble and brine Omelette, topped with a side order of smoked salmon. I also had the deviled eggs, they were superb.

Delicious Ceasar Salad topped with breaded oysters. The mushrooms sauce on our scallops was to die for. We had the Rose Sangria that was refreshing. Our server, David, was attentive and friendly. Great experience! 👍

The blackened salmon with the hollandaise sauce was fantastic and so was our server, Cassie. Would also highly recommend the pimento crab dip

What a wonderful find! Ran into David, one of the servers outside the restaurant and talked about to place. Made reservations later that evening and wound up having him as our server. He quite the gem, giving great service and a pleasure to talk to. The food was superb. I had the Pink pony Mule which had a great balance of flavor. Our table shared the biscuits which had a great amount of flakey and crumb and buttermilk flavor was great. The parsnip soup...I needed a container to take more home. So good! Entree was the meatloaf wellington. I'm not take much a fan of meatloaf, but if I had it like this more often... flaky puff shell that had the meatloaf wrapped in bacon, potato puree and roasted vegetables. Now, my only complaint...the creme Brule. To much on the eggie side. Base could use a few less eggs in it and it would be perfect. Maybe add some vanilla beans to it.

Dined here for the first time tonight and the food was amazing! Meg’s Meatloaf Wellington melted in your mouth! The crab cake was all lump crabmeat! The chicken cordon bleu was superb! Desserts were decadent and the service top notch! Shout out to David for taking care of us and Meghan the owner for greeting and talking with us personally. We already secured our reservations for Mother’s Day brunch! A perfect gem In Lewes!

We had dinner at Bramble&Brine last night. Atmosphere was amazing. The food and service was exceptional. We were party of 8 sitting on two tables and our waitress went above and beyond to make sure we were all having a good time. Food came out at perfect timing and it was delicious. Drinks and dessert were outstanding as well. Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy a nice dinner. We had small birthday party and i am so happy everyone made sure to give us the best experience.

Not only was the service doting and friendly, but our drinks and apps were delicious and just what we needed waiting for dinner! We stayed in the cutsie garden outside and loved the atmosphere as we enjoyed golden hour. The owner even stopped by to thank us for eating at her restaurant. We overall had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend anyone go there!

Food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing, we al cleaned our plates. Definitely worth the money with the quality of ingredients and service. The gentleman with the orange watch band was our server and he truly went above and beyond. Would highly recommend saving room for the deserts!

My wife&I stopped in here, just to check the place out. Incredible. Kelly & Cole were the best. Amazing atmosphere. Drinks& Food, spot on, perfect. PBNJ Wings delish, crab dip and won tons, awesome. This place has so much charm and character, so different than the many other places to choose from. We will Def return to visit this place in the future. If you want Quality, Great Svc and an Enjoyable Evening, this is the place.

We had a very delicious meal at this warm, cozy place last night, which is in a beautiful historic home in downtown Lewes. We were early for our reservation, so we went in the back to the Pink Pony bar area for a drink. Husband and I had very good wine, daughter had a limoncello lemon drop, which she loved. The bartenders were so friendly and fun! For dinner, we were seated in the enclosed wrap around front porch area, with views of the town that was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Our waiter, Filip, was outstanding. He helped us make good menu choices, according to our tastes, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. We started with the charcuterie board, which we enjoyed sharing. Husband and I chose the Chicken Cordon Bleu. It was fabulous, with caramelized roasted carrots, crisp tender green beans, all on a bed of pomme purée. Daughter chose a delicious pumpkin ravioli, which was leaving the menu the next day. She greatly enjoyed it. We will definitely be back to this restaurant. Highly recommend.

We had the biscuits, butternut squash bisque, Caesar salad, escargot, gnocchi and steak and everything was excellent. Phillip, our server, made the experience even better. He made sure our courses came out in a proper manner and was just all around a wonderful host for the evening.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner to celebrate her birthday. Our meals were amazing - she had the chicken cordon bleu and I had monkfish. We also shared a Caesar Salad that was the best we've ever had. David, our waiter, was the perfect combination of attentive but not hovering. His meal suggestions and explanations of ingredients, preparation style, etc., showed what a professional he is. Thanks David, for making a great night an amazing experience. We'll be back soon!

Outstanding service with multiple smiles. We had Megan and her staff serve us for our wedding rehearsal dinner of 26. Megan and David sat down with us to prepare a special evening with attention to detail. We ate family style to meatloaf wellington (bride n grooms fav), shrimp n grits (bride's family meal) and homemade pasta (grooms family meal). The service, food and drinks were amazing and everyone loved the fine details. Would highly recommend ever for dinner for two or the family

Had the most wonderful meal! I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu and my boyfriend ordered the Filet and both meals were chef prepared, perfectly cooked, and had so much flavor. The chef puts a lot of time and effort into each dish, and i believe anything you order here would be incredible. Great service and atmosphere as well.

I booked a reservation online for Father's Day brunch and then got a little scared by some recent bad reviews! I'm glad we went, because it was really nice. The ambiance is terrific, it is super cute. We were sat in the back bar area (which is an enclosed patio) where we were served by the bartender, Henrita (sp?) who was lovely. She was very friendly and patient with our table who had lots of questions, special requests, and alterations, and I really appreciated her willingness to accommodate. She showed a lot of grace and we were all surprised to learn she'd only been there about a month! Kudos to her. Regarding the food -- the lamp lollipops were incredible and so was the crab dip skillet. The cheddar biscuits were a little dense but still tasty; I'd skip them next time, though. French toast was fine but I was kind of bummed that the menu said it came with brandied peaches, and our server informed us when I ordered that those had been swapped for a berry compote. A little pedestrian but I understand the need to pivot when ingredients or plans change! My husband's hot honey chicken skillet was the star. His espresso martini was also one of the best we've had. All in all, we had a great time, and I'd recommend eating here in the future!

What a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The lady at the door was dressed so eloquent and was super sweet and helpful. Our server chase was friendly and attentive and made our night with his banter. We had the brie, caesar salad, and soup to start and they were all wonderful. The barrel cut ribeye was too die for and must be from the steakhouse they own!. For dessert we had the white cake and some delicious Italian sauterne! Will return ASAP

Service, food and atmosphere was exceptional on our Saturday night visit to Bramble &Brine. Nearly scared off by so many poor reviews we decided to make our own decision! We are so glad we did! Starting with baked Brie and entrees of crab cake with fingering potatoes, slaw and a wonderful stewed tomato combination we sadly had no room for dessert!! Until our next visit. We will definitely include Bramble on our favorite local restaurant list and visit there again soon. Hopefully to try some dessert next time around!

What a lovely dining experience! Every dish we tried was delicious. We especially enjoyed the caesar salad, escargot and the Meatloaf Wellington. The service was impeccable. Filip is a real professional - he made us feel valued and well cared for in addition to being efficient and knowledgeable. Also, the bartender Ryan is a master of his craft. He always makes a great drink. We can't wait to return!

My husband and I were visiting from out of town to see our in-laws and decided to pop in for an impromptu date night. We were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and service that the waitstaff provided. Special shout out to Filip! My husband got the pork chop and I got the duck gnocchi. Both were amazing! 10/10 would recommend. We will be back during our next visit! Thanks again for your great service and good recommendations, Filip!

Today, I celebrated my 29th birthday with my partner at Bramble and Brine. I can say without question, this was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Our server Filip, was passionate about giving us a memory we won’t soon forget. He took all the right steps— asking us our names to personalize the experience, making conversation and offering suggestions/recommendations based on what we were interested in ordering. He was respectful and checked in with us accordingly but also gave us the appropriate time and space to enjoy our delicious meal. In addition, the other server checked in with us as well—exemplifying teamwork and dedication to delivering a lovely dining experience to everyone in the restaurant. We will absolutely be back! Thank you for making my birthday special!

My wife and I went here for our 5 year anniversary and could not recommend it enough. Food was excellent, well seasoned (which is hard to find in this area) and came out quickly. We started with the biscuits and beet & burrata salad and I had short rib gnocchi for my entree while my wife had the pumpkin ravioli. Our server, Filip, was fantastic! He was very friendly, attentive, well versed in the menu and overall a pleasure to share our evening with. Could not recommend more!

We always have a wonderful experience at Bramble and Brine in Lewes, DE. Dinner is upscale but not pretentious. You're in a beach town, so nice shorts and a polo work very well at Bramble. The restaurant is located in a historic house and divided into different areas. If you just want to have a drink at the bar with friends, you can feel free to talk and have a good time without worrying about disturbing a couple out on date night for an intimate dinner—they'll be in a totally different area. The same goes if you want to take the entire family out to dinner and your youngsters tend to get a little anxious. Just let the host know you have young children, and they'll seat you accordingly. The food is very well done, but the highlight of your evening is going to be the service.

Walking by on thanksgiving day I smelled something so delicious that I ended up circling back several times and finally giving up and committing to a salad and a glass of wine. I had a great time. The staff were fun, warm and welcoming, and the food was so delicious that I ended up coming back with a group for dinner the next day to taste more things. If you’re in town, definitely plan a dinner here!

Stopped here on a whim for happy hour. We ordered off of the bar menu which was a little more impressive than the regular menu. Every entree is $42 and every appetizer is $20 on the regular menu. That’s just too pricey to me. The atmosphere in the bar is magical though! It’s called the Pink Pony and it has a vintage circus theme. Really cool! We ordered the fried Brie and bacon (had a blueberry bbq dipping sauce) AMAZING! I ordered the lobster roll and my husband got the crab cake. Biggest crab cake I’ve seen served in a restaurant. We also got the PBn’J wings. I’d come back everyday for those alone! I gave three stars for the service because my entree and the wings came out first. Twenty minutes later my husbands meal and the other appetizer.

$$. Recommended for those looking for a relaxed upscale and unique dining experience. While reminiscent of Victorias in Rehoboth with it's old world charm. The Bramble and Brine takes inspiration from its sister locations like La Fable (Rehoboth) and Houston White Co. (Rehoboth) to bring a unique upscale fusion experience to Lewes. With nods to the Buttery that came before it, this location is worth the try. Pro tip* If going for breakfast, the morning will have a lighter crowd but I would recommend waiting a little longer till around 11 for their brunch menu.

The over all experience was excellent. Our server was prompt, knowledgeable, and charismatic. The cocktails were delicious. I just wasn't blown away by the entrées. The peanut butter pie was amazing though!

Went this past friday at 8:15pm and were basically the only ones in the whole place. The menu is less than half of what is advertised on their website, I guess due to it being off-season. We were essentially whispering to each other because it was so empty and quiet. It felt a bit like eating dinner in a library. The food was very underwhelming for the price. The scallops dish looked like wet cat food in half shells, and was definitely not what I expected when ordering scallops and mushrooms. It was about 75% thick brown sauce and 25% mushrooms. I managed to dig about 2 half scallops out in total. The Rockfish entree was well seasoned and tasted good. Some cocktails are apparently pre-batched and could not be customized (I asked for no grenadine, which was not possible). I've never heard of this at the $16-$20 per cocktail price point. That specific cocktail had a gritty texture and tasted like it was pre-batched a bit too long ago. A different vodka cocktail (Salty Dog) was very good. This place is probably more fun in the summer, but this experience felt very sad. By 9:15, we were the only ones in the restaurant besides a handful of staff members. I don't believe they are open until 12 AM as Google states. With so many dining options, we will likely not return or recommend.

I

The chef is trying to be more French, than the French themselves. The appetizer of burata was fine, except the beet carpaccio was over marinated and too vinegary. The scallops came baked in heavy cream mushroom sauce that killed the taste of scallops. Everything tasted like mushrooms, not much of anything else. The service was prompt and attentive. The atmosphere could have been intimate, but the frequent running around of the wait stuff creating atmosphere of hectic rush. Grilled snapper was fairly good. Overall impression - does not live up to expectation and hugely overpriced. If you want an authentic French food you may have to travel to La Chaumiere in Washington, DC and it will cost you less for much better food experience.

Years ago, the Buttery was wonderful fine dining. Now, not so much. Our party of 5 had lunch. I think there was one seafood offering of shrimp and grits but no one ordered it. We had fried chicken and a burger. The burger was a “smash burger“ and overcooked. The aioli was missing from it. The fried chicken was overfried and tough. The best thing was the baked Brie that we had as an appetizer. But it was not served with any crackers or bread-weird. A disappointment at over $180.

Bramble and Brine used to be my go to fine dining spot for a fancy date night or dinner for work. Servers were dressed in white shirts and khakis, crumbs were swept off the table, wine pairings were offered, food was packaged to go in the kitchen, and the table was cleared between courses. The service was always so amazing with such an attention to detail. When I recently revisited the restaurant however, I found the atmosphere and service has tremendously changed. While our server was still amazing, and was working with only one other person in the FOH, it simply wasn’t a fine dining experience. The only thing that hasn’t changed was of course the prices. While I would never usually complain over the service or atmosphere of the restaurant if you’re going to call yourself fine dining and charge adjacent prices, that experience must be upheld for the customers. The menus online will also almost never match what is being served. While I wasn’t able to have what had peaked my interest online, the food was all very good maybe just salted a bit too much to my taste.

M
Michaela Campina

I had lunch with a friend and ordered a $16 Caesar salad. When the waitress asked if I wanted chicken, she didn't mention any additional charge. After we finished, the check showed an open food tab of $34 for my meal. I was surprised that the three thin slices of chicken had an $18 upcharge. I was surprised by the unexpected cost and felt like the pricing was not transparent, especially since there was nothing on the menu indicating additional charges for add-ons to the salad. Don't come here unless you like being scammed.

Our experience was unfortunately not what we had expected it to be. We were asked to wait at the bar while our table was ready. We had 4 o’clock reservations. There were only a few other people at the bar that already had drinks and the bartender didn’t even acknowledge us for a very long time. Being in a service industry even him saying hello folks I’ll be with you in a few minutes would’ve been nice. I ordered a blueberry lemonade that said it had fresh squeeze, lemonade muddled blueberries a sugar rim and I added vodka. I got a lemonade no sugar rim no muddled blueberries Just a vodka lemonade when I asked him about it, he said nobody here makes it that way. It’s just blueberry syrup. if you’re paying roughly $15 for a cocktail, it should be made the way it states on the menu. We finally got to our table. Our waitress was fairly new and it showed she was very sweet, but didn’t know the menu at all. We ordered the cheddar biscuits to be brought out first and they never came. My husband had the shrimp mac & cheese, which he said was very good. I had the blackened salmon which was also very good. It didn’t have the hollandaise sauce on it like it said it should. they tried to charge us for our drinks that we had already paid for at the bar so we had to mention that. we asked for a dessert to go, but the waitress hardly ever came back to our table so we just asked for the check so we could leave. For the amount of money we paid we expected a lot more. They were dirty tables everywhere so I’m not sure if they were just understaffed for the day or what happened.

New Years Eve. Very quiet , lots of open tables, now I know why. Food awful, limited menu. Been here many times over the years, will NEVER come again. AWFUL
