Great food. Everything was hot and fresh. We actually waited for it to cool down a bit to eat it. Best breakfast since moving out here. Servers were also very friendly. Will definitely be coming back.
The food was perfect and arrived very soon after we placed our order. The staff was super polite and accommodating. I was also really surprised by how much I enjoyed the coffee. Far better than my average experience with diner coffee.
I use to frequent this location often and I must say, it's always been great food and service, but something about today just stood out. Everything was spot on! Food cooked perfectly and no corners were cut. 😁
Needing to stop and get some breakfast before heading back home , we decided to stop at the Gardenview Diner. Am I glad we did. The food was awesome , more than enough to fill us up and then some ! The place was clean and welcoming. And the staff were absolutely wonderful. If we ever go back to Syracuse we will make the Gardenview our go to for eating !
Excellent experience, top notch service with a super friendly staff. Food was exceptional. One of the better diners that I have ever been to!
The first time we've been here. It was busy, but we were seated quickly. Service was quick and staff friendly. We ordered scrambled eggs, toast, grits, home fries and decaf tea. Everything was delicious.
The food is great for breakfast and proportions are generous.
Quick. Hot. Amazing. Food. Service does their best to keep up with the many rushes they experience through the day. Sit at the counter if you want to skip the line for a table. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits - so savory and the biscuits drank up the gravy while remaining crisp on the edges. Best bacon I've had in a long while - not afraid to cook it crisp and perfectly sliced.
Clean! Very friendly staff with really good service. Gardenview has a really nice selection of breakfast food. (My Texas French toast was awesome!) All of our food was hot and very tasty. The portion sizes were generous. Definitely a place to visit!
Delicious food with incredible sweet staff!
We were seated quickly and our the staff was extremely friendly as always! The sausage gravy was amazing! Our food came out quickly and it was all delicious :)
I brought out of town guests, including two kiddos for lunch. I wasn't sure what they liked to eat. However, this menu was so diverse that everyone picked different items, and they were all delicious. Service was wonderful and very accomidating.Prices were reasonable . Everyone was full and happy. I will definitely go back.
Great service and great food.
Absolutely delicious food, both breakfast and lunch. Soups vary per day but the homemade tomato soup is fantastic. Good service, friendly, reasonable prices. Recommend wholeheartedly.
Great food, good prices. Big portions. I got the Philly steak wrap and fries. Very tasty! My kiddo got chocolate chip pancakes they were huge! As big as the plate❤️ the staff is super friendly. Definitely will be back.
Always great food and service. They put your order in right at the table on a handheld device and breakfast usually comes out in 5 minutes even when they're busy. Lunch is delicious as well! Huge gyros! Only complaint I have is they never soak their French toast enough so the inside is still bread. I just no longer order it anymore because their pancakes are huge!
Food was good if it came out hot.Did not wait long for a table service was excellent.Very friendly
This has become our 'go to' place for a while for several reasons. The food is great, portions ample, all the staff are friendly, accurate & attentive. Add to that the prices & portion size are really good but the quality & freshness of the actual food is delightful!
So far I've only had the burgers but they are stellar! Huge and handmade. Cooked to order with tasty fries! And the staff are so nice!
A wonderful family owned business in the heart of Liverpool.
The food was amazing i took me and mom out for lunch and everyone is so nice its so clean and vary yummy i will be coming back
Had breakfast with friends after a bike ride. Friendly and fast service. Food was excellent.
Service is excellent. The waitress is very ( very ) nice. Portions are perfect. Great diner experience !!
We were seated quickly even though they were pretty busy. The sever was extremely pleasant and patient with us as it was our first time there and took a bit to decide. Drinks and food came pretty fast and was absolutely delicious. Portions were huge!!! We will definitely be back soon.
Food is really good Prices are very good as well i felt. And all staff is super freindly. I brought my daughter in and she's a smiles at everyone and is always making me laugh. Someone paid for both parents and our daughters meal. And they wouldn't say. All i can say is what amazing people that go to dine as well. I really like this place.
The food is awesome. I got two eggs, home fries with onions, an English muffin and a short stack of pancakes. Very reasonable price for portions. Now here is why they get 3 stars. I stood at the counter being told several times they’d be right with me while I watched my to go order sit in the window. Thankfully it was still hot when I ate, but, I waited ten minutes! There’s no kitchen problem, that chef was banging great looking food out to be expedited, but two waitress for this place? Your understaffed and you know it. Hire someone dedicated for the front of house, register and to go orders. Update: ordered take out again 10/21/21. Perfect food and perfect experience. Go check them out!
Great little diner. They don't have the best understanding of Gluten Free, but there's plenty of options that are traditionally gluten free in the first place. Lots of inventive omelet combinations.
Such a great spot for dining. We had the breakfast and it was delicious. Staff was friendly and service was exceptional
I went here because it was closest to my hotel. Was a great choice...huge portions , super cheap , and very friendly staff....make sure you go hungry...lots of chow.
My husband went here with his family and said I needed to try it. He was right the food is very good. The staff was wonderful, very polite and always fillings coffee and asking if everything was good. We will definitely be going back!
The food was delicious the staff was great it reminded of an old school dinner. The food came out fast I really enjoyed it and will be back.
Gardenview is a great option for a good breakfast at a fair price with great service. The coffee refills are constant and service is very attentive. All are good and a special shout-out to Amber for sure.
We’ve been here several times for breakfast. Excellent friendly quick service. Waffle, cheese omelet, English muffin, eggs, toast. Everything we’ve has has been good
I generally visit the diner on weekdays just after 7 a.m. and never have any trouble getting a table. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. I have never had to wait for service. The atmosphere is welcome and the cleanliness is impeccable. The orders are quickly filled and delicious.
This place is the best, staff are friendly and inviting. The food is great and they feed you like your at home. I've made it a tradition to go back every time I'm in town.
Variety of breakfast options with unique twists. The stuffed French toast and mushroom omelette were sooooo good. Turkey bacon available as alternative to pork. Service was okay- atmosphere is nice. Old diner vibe
I went to the Gardenview Diner on the recommendation of a friend. You seat yourself at any empty, clean table or at the counter. Wait staff promptly came over with flatware, a menu and took my drink order. I ordered an omelet with ham, peppers, onions and mushrooms. Also an order of French toast. Food came quickly and was warm. My waitress kept checking on me and refilled my coffee. Prices reasonable. Would go there again. Hidden gem.
Loved this place. The portions are great and the price is very fair for 2025. What I enjoyed a lot was the acoustics to the place. I was able to have a nice breakfast with my partner while engaging in conversation without having to raise our voices, despite the Diner being completely full. Coffee is great, their pancakes are delicious!
We are really loving this classic, old school diner that’s a hot spot in Liverpool. Once you step in the door it really is like stepping back in time, servers interacting with customers and many are regulars known by names and regular orders. The cooks viewable through the open kitchen windows prepping a smorgasbord of tasty entrees and dinging the bell once orders are up! The servings are enormous, we both had the double play and always leave with enough for a second meal. I love the scrambled eggs, with bacon, toast, and added home fries with onions for only $1.50! The pancakes are mammoth, covering the entire plate! They are always hopping but we have not waited for a table and the service is great! Servers are circulating and keeping coffee, juices, and water full throughout the meal. Check out at the register also prompt and great prices, around $35 with two coffees and two orange juices!
I just finished another great meal at Gardenview Diner in Liverpool and felt inspired to leave a review. My favorite plates so far are the Tuna Melt Sandwich, Crispy Chicken Salad and the traditional Two Eggs with sides. (The defining difference here being that the Bacon is always crispy, the Toast is a thick cut of fresh Italian bread and the potatoes are Hash Browns. Sausage/English Muffins/Home Fries are available, among other options, if you prefer.) The servers, Sandy and Crystal, are friendly and attentive. My coffee cup never gets low and they check on me after the plate is presented to ensure I have all that I need. The cooks and busing staff are speedy and take pride in their work. All their efforts do not go unnoticed! I usually have enough left over to take home for the next day. The food is delicious, the prices are fair and the atmosphere is inviting and clean. I like supporting small businesses when dining out and Gardenview Diner is a long-standing, local treasure.
Our family chose Gardenview Diner for a Saturday morning breakfast after Thanksgiving. The service was fast and friendly. Our breakfast choices (see pictures) were hot and made to order. We all agreed that our food was very good, and worth recommending. With so many choices for breakfast in the area, Gardenview is a good bet.
A diner that looks nice from the street and is large and clean inside. There is a reasonable amount of decorations on the walls, not overwhelming like some diners are. They serve Pepsi products which is a plus for me. My daughter had peanut butter chip pancakes and I had eggs and home fries. Decent portions at a great price. Service was nice and friendly. I definitely recommend breakfast here and I hope to try lunch soon.
I'll give it four. The place looks like your typical mom and pop diner. Service was a bit slow and it was a Monday? Either way, the food was good. I did have to add some salt to most of it. Really liked the homefries with onions.
My husband and I met another couple for brunch here because it was in a good location. We were very satisfied with the service and were each pretty satisfied with our food. It came out fast and accurately. My cheese and veggie omelet was a little dry as was my husband's western omelet. The home fries were pretty good. Our friend enjoyed his meatball sub. His wife said her chicken dish was ample and tasty. All in all, nothing special but it's a diner so we didn't have super high expectations.
Food is incredible, especially for a diner. Service is extremely friendly. It gets busy so expect a wait. The kitchen preps per table so be prepared to drink a lot coffee after you order. EDIT: After careful consideration I want to give this place 5 stars but it's difficult to click that last star. It says diner and that is my holdback. it's a comfort food restaurant with great food and great service. The portions are incredible and the price cannot be wrong! I will be going back there in a few months and this time I will have photos and another update.
I've been eating here for about 4 years now. The food is always delicious. There are sometimes where u might have to Wait a bit for a table, but it just goes to show how good it is with the amount of people trying to get in. But once u are seated it never takes long once u order. Very clean, wonderful people they make u feel right at home.
I really like this place, great truck stop atmosphere and typical menu items. My only complaint is the menu has too many items and I wish they had a big huge sign so more people can experience this place. I always forget about it because it's practically hidden on a busy stretch of road. I think they sell breakfast all day if I'm not mistaken!
The food was good. Exatly what you would expect from a diner. The waitress was busy but not particularly efficient. They missed a few details, like cleaning the table before bringing menus and coffee. We also had to ask for a spoon with our coffee. Overall a good experience.
Simple, plain diner fare done well. Country fried steak was cooked particularly well and good hearty toast. Service was very pleasant and it looks like a diner, which only makes sense. I'd go again.
The Food at this out-of-the-way Diner is not bad at all. I am pretty fussy and have never been shy about giving a Diner a bad review. I stopped in to this place while in the area about four years ago, and whenever I'm in the area since, usually on business, I find myself looking for it. Now, the Gardenview Diner is not at all fancy. In fact, although not at all what I would call "run down," it nevertheless has a lower than average atmosphere, that says small town in a manner I can't seem to describe, other than to say it's -- well, homey. Ok, but what it lacks in ambiance, it makes up in Food and Service. I can honestly say I've never had a bad breakfast here, which admittedly is the only food I've had here. But the Wait Staff is always friendly and cheerful, and when I came in the last time (yesterday) I had a very satisfactory meal, served very quickly in a manner that was more cheerful than any I've had at some of the "better" Diners in the Syracuse area. And that's something. Nothing about the setting is exceptional, but on the whole it leaves a good taste in my mouth. Definitely four stars all around. I'll be back again.
The food was good! We will go back, but they need to come around with coffee more often.
The food was good. We had a breakfast sandwich and a Greek omelette. The omelette could have been seasoned better but some salt made it better. The breakfast sandwich was okay, good but not amazing. It could have been seasoned better too. The atmosphere was pleasant. Service seemed a bit slow but friendly. Prices were reasonable. Over all it's a good place to eat and I will definitely go back and try it again. The one thing that did stand out was the home fries, those were excellent. They were seasoned well and cooked just right. I would recommend this place. It's easy to get in and out of the parking lot.
Breakfast is like at grandma’s house! Perfect every time and about $10 per person. This place fills up for breakfast on weekends, most times there is a line waiting to get in. I would’ve gave them all five stars, but every time I go the waitresses never refill my drinks. I end up going to get it myself... every time. The food is top notch diner food, and the owner is a wonderful woman, but the waitress staff is lacking.
Started out with a friendly server and really good food. At the end things went terribly wrong… When my friend was paying the bill, she wrote down the wrong amount & said to herself, that's not right. Took her phone out to calculate what the correct amount should be. While doing that, our waitress walked by her & said, "That's what you're leaving me? Thanks a lot. I need to get another job!” My friend put the corrected amount down (a generous tip) & we left. Too bad she was SO RUDE because the food was good. Needless to say, we will NOT be back.
My boyfriend and I have been regular customers at this diner for about two months and we loved it. Last week, while we were eating breakfast, we noticed an employee taking their mask down, wiping their nose over and over with their hand, sneezing, putting their mask back up and then taking dishes off peoples tables, and also bringing various items to the tables and they clearly didn’t wash their hands in between. My boyfriend and I decided we would wait to be seated and just bring it to our waitresses attention when they came over. When our waitress came over to take our drink order, we pulled her aside, and mentioned it to her quietly because we didn’t want to make a scene or embarrass anybody as we are not those kind of people. The waitress then told us this employee doesn’t touch food or anything and just takes dishes. We explained that we did see him come in contact with people’s food and also taking dishes but the waitress seemed annoyed and walked away. She then reassigned us to a different. waitress and ignored us the rest of the time. We let it go. We then came back today where the same waitress came to where we were seated, obviously realized it was us, got our coffee, slammed it on the table and walked away. We were assigned a new waitress again. When we went to pay she was at the register and CLEARLY avoided helping us pay for our meal. My family has owned many businesses since I was a child and I know if my mother was told that one of her employees were doing this, she wouldn’t make a scene but she would make sure something was addressed and wouldn’t be rude about it and take it out on the customer. We weren’t nasty or rude about this, and we love the restaurant. We love eating here as normally the food and service is very good but this has made us not want to come back here.
I think they were short staffed at lunch yesterday because service was unusually slow. We had to wait for menus, our lunch of a simple grilled cheese and a hamburger took a long time, we had to ask for our bill after waiting some time for it, and then wait to pay. This was at 12:30 on a weekday, and while the dining room was 75% full when we arrived, it was nearly empty when we were done with our meal.
It was my first time back to the Gardenview in a few years (last experience was not great). A friend said they had "stepped up their game". My mom and I went there today about noon for brunch. Place was busy but we were seated without a wait. They continued to get even busier with people waiting out the door. They staff was pleasantly our meals were good. However, our server, Melissa was wonderful! Will be back again because of how well she managed all her tables and for the "extra" kindness she gives to her customers!
if your not a regular your treated differently. My family liked their food. Burnt toast should have been redone before bringing out. My wrap was wheat. I do not eat wheat. Did they ask no. The peppers and onions inside were so tiny they were not worth being in there. Too much cheese hardly any egg. I mentioned the wrap to the waitress. They don't have regular. I kept it and took it apart. Waitress gave only two sets of silverware. There were four of us. She went missing a couple times. I will never go back.
My partner and I just moved to the area and were excited to try a close diner spot! Unfortunately I do not think we will be returning. The food was ok, but found the service to be lacking. Our server seemed upset and overwhelmed and only spoke with us to take our order and give us our check. I attempted to flag someone down for more than one cup of coffee and found it impossible, which is surprising considering how small of a location this is! Disappointed, not sure if it was just a bad day for this spot, but I will be returning to my regular place across town.
Was looking for a local gem on my way through town and was pretty disappointed in the food. Service was cheerful and prompt. The Biscuits and Gravy could be described as a bland soup. Locals seem to love it and the vibe is great. Solid coffee and being able to seat ourselves was nice.
The service wasn't that great, had waited awhile before someone got us our coffee. It's typically an older crowd and we were seated all the way in the back corner when there were plenty of open spaces. The food however came relatively quickly and tasted decent. I felt we weren't helped as nicely because they generally serve an older audience and we are in our mid 20's
The hashbrowns were so mushy if I had dentures it would be more suitable to eat. Never had breakfast like this. Bacon was cooked good but that's about it. Tried it for the first time. Won't be back. Don't know where the other reviews came from. Maybe the lunch and dinner are better.
Asked several times for a refill for coffee, never received, asked for creamer for the one cup that I did get never got it. I snagged a couple from a different table one of the waiters then gave a nasty look, part of our food tasted boiled then frozen. We asked at least 3 people for coffee/ cream half ignored one nodded and walked away.
I usually don’t write reviews, but when they asked how everything was and I say “it was ok not great” and there response was “oh I’m sorry” Didn’t ask what the problem was… I felt the need to write this review When food came out, the bacon was overcooked my English muffin not even toasted and food was cold and somehow pieces of olives were in my hash browns. My husband said frittata didn’t seem fresh, had a very weird taste. We have been going here for about 15 yrs now, this isn’t the first time the food has been horrible so we given a few more chances but this is our last. We won’t be returning anytime soon.
This is a place I went to endlessly as a kid, and having not been there in maybe 10 years, it was an absolute shame to see the place so run down from what it once was. We sat down on filthy stained and incredibly tattered seats with no cushion left in them. Many of the benches were tattered and ripeed. We still had high hopes for the food because the place used to be so popular. The food was very disappointing. I ordered toast, bacon, and hash browns. I let the server know my several food allergies and she repeated them to me. She was really friendly and great. She took our drink orders, both got fountain sodas, and then she came back soon with the drinks. Unfortunately my drink was served in a cup with caked on food particles so I had decided I wasn't going to drink it. My bf ordered corned beef hash, an omlette, steak, and toast. The food arrived and there were pieces of fried egg mixed into my potatoes. I don't eat egg so I figured I'd just stick to the other things I ordered and bring it to the waitress attention when she came back. The bacon tasted like old grease and like the cook doesn't clean the cook top. My boyfriend tried a bite of my bacon and had the same reaction. He tried his eggs, and sausage and steak and said they also tasted like old grease and taste exactly like the bacon. Nothing tasted like it was supposed to. The order of corned beef hash was forgotten and the waitress came to bring it back out. At that point I didn't really trust that any of the food was going to taste different if I ordered something else. And the waitress was very nice I didn't want to be a bother to her and didn't trust the food now anyway. So my boyfriend ate a few more bites and asked to have a to go container. We payed and won't be back again. Really disappointed. Food was awful and I know it's just a diner but the cook should really take more pride in the food they send out of the kitchen. I've worked in the food industry for years and this was just bad. I hope they can get their act together
I just took my 19 year old son, home on college break to get something to eat. Our food was good. Melissa our server was excellent. One of the other servers was obviously having a bad day, yelling and screaming that she was done for the day. Proceeded to go back to the office, screaming and yelling for all eating to hear plain as day. This server has acted similarly on a few other occasions I've been in to eat. I will think twice about going again with that kind of atmosphere. You know it's bad when your 19-year-old comments how embarrassing the actions were and that the owner or manager allowed it to go on for too long.
Waitress was sweet and the guy picking up dirty dishes was awesome. Burger bun was stale and patty very thin, other order of gyro the chicken looked like it was scraped off the bottom of the grill. Not good food.
The food was great and our server was great. I was ready to leave a five star review until we left. I know covid has been taxing on all of us, but the situation I dealt with today was very rude. An older couple had been waiting to be seated and was told to sit at a table, the lady then asked if they could have a booth and the serve said none were available. My mom and I were leaving and my mom simply said “once ours is clean you guys can take it, we’re leaving”. The serve then decided that my mom had no right saying that and said out loud for me to hear, “I guess she’s doing my job for me now”. The older couple clearly did not pay attention to the part where the table needed to be cleaned and sat down. Which the older man looked like he was weak and needed to sit. This is when the server then decided to yell across the restaurant at the couple. She said “you can’t sit there it has to be cleaned” and basically forced the couple to move again. She then went along with saying “I don’t know what is wrong with people” and continued to complain to my mom when my mom apologized for the disruption. I understand the table needed to be clean, but it would only take a few second and the elderly man needed to sit down (he had a walker). The comments made by the servers was downright disrespectful and ruined my whole experience. I thought the food was delicious and really wanted to have a good time, but I left very angered and had all I could do to not saying something while I was there.
The place, It’s quaint and nice. Staff is lovely. I hate having to remove this off my maps but The food isn’t very good, the strip steak is like something out of Europe, looks like it tastes….a grey boiled and tasteless rubbery meat. I’m being charged almost 3 dollars for a (3cent) tea bag? $7 for a waffle? The potatoes weren’t any better and the only thing that was decent were the eggs. I paid 50 dollars for bland food. Such a nice little place and it sucks that the food is marked up and bland
It really pains me to even leave this poor of a review. I have to believe that my experience was a one-off based on previous reviews and how steady the flow of customers was. The atmosphere is little of a diner and only moderately different than that of a Denny's; however this is really in the hands of the patrons and not the proprietor. I even sat at the counter for that "diner feel" but it was fleeting at best. Unfortunately, I did not end up actually dining here, not for lack of trying. When I ordered my breakfast, I had to repeat my order more than once because every time I started to order, I looked up to find the server otherwise engaged, only to turn back to me and say "what was that?" So it probably should have been less surprising than it was when my order came out missing the pancakes that were requested. It also shouldn't have been surprising that my omellete did not have the cheddar cheese that I requested. The missing pancakes I was willing to move on from as they were really just an extra treat that I was going to indulge in;however the American cheese in the omellete made it inedible for me, which was why I was very specific about the cheddar. I am not giving any lower of a star rating because the gentlemen who presented my food did try his best to make it right; however, I have a nuance that is a very hard and fast rule of never sending food back to be remade. All in all, I will be returning to CNY soon, but will not likely return to Gardenview.
As much as I like supporting local business, I cannot say I like this place or would ever go back there. Ordered a small antipasto that came covered in pepperoni which was never listed on the menu. I don't eat or like pepperoni. Never came with what was listed on menu.. Waitress never came back to ask us how everything was. Won't go back.
We called ahead (party of 5) on a busy Saturday morning, assuming they would be busy. We were told they weren't busy so we decided to take our kids. When we arrived, it was busy as usual with only 2 available tables about 10 minutes after I called. We were told to wait until a table of older men were finished. That idea was out so I proposed we take another table. We waited for 15 minutes before our server, who was very rude, came over to take our drink orders. She also threw menus down on the table and said she had three other tables ahead of us. We were on a time crunch as we had to get the kids to their activities later that afternoon. Knowing we were behind, I asked the server if we could place our food orders with drinks. She said she "can't overwhelm the kitchen like that." Meanwhile, the table behind us, who came in 10 minutes after us .... Already had their drinks and food. While we waited. Moral of the story, the food is good, it's a Liverpool staple, but it's always busy on weekends, and rude service moves it down on my list of desirable places to take my family to eat in town.
Not a bad place, but don't go for the country fried steak/sausage gravy. Just had it and couldn't bring myself to eat it, taste was not right at all. Tasted strongly tangy with bad aftertaste. Pancakes/omelettes are what I'd stick to.
I love the way the place looks and the service, staff were very nice. Food was -100% I have never had worst I am really disappointed. Eggs were the only thing that was good. Strip steak was awful never try it! Waffle and tea are overpriced and no quality. All food was served cold. Tea was just warm but $5.70 that’s outrageous for 2 tea bags… waffle was around $8 and it’s tasteless thin, maple syrup was very thick, butter on the waffle couldn’t melt from how cold it was served. Fries are not bad but I wouldn’t order them anymore. Overall traumatized from the experience and here is $50 goes to nothing! 😢👍🏻
The gravy biscuits is too salty and I was kindly told the waitress (her hair is short around her shoulder) about it. She said: that is how it is,ok? And gave me an attitude. They don’t want hear about the truth, about customer review. Their loss. That problem needs to be fix. The chef and the attitude of the waitress.
Waited 15 minutes to be seated which is pretty typical - no biggie. Waitress took our drink order without us seeing a menu first. Got drinks but no utensils to stir coffee, or menus to order from. Had to get both ourselves, even after I asked for a spoon. She saw we got two menus for the three of us and attempted to then bring us a third menu. We finally ordered and then watched others who got their plates have to get their own utensils, too. When we did get our utensils, she laid out 5 settings for 3 people. Waitress told us that they were short staffed (I get it - we are where I work, too) and that the people who were there "didn't want to work". No coffee refill. Tried to bring me a second saucer of creamers. We waited 45 minutes before leaving money for the drinks on the table and walking out, and after we watched people who were seated after us in the opposite room get their plates before us. A total waste of an hour. This is the 2nd time this week. Earlier in the week when I ordered soup, cheese sticks and a beverage, I was brought the soup and THEN I was told they were out of cheese sticks. The Waitress asked if I would like to order something else, but neglected to show me a menu. What happened to this place? The rooms are small (7 booths and 2 tables?), so each Waitress should have been able to manage while sharing a busser. She certainly wasnt bringing food back amd forth because clearly it either wasnt getting made or she just never kept track of what should be going out. There is no method or routine for this Waitress to keep track of what she should be doing next or how to tend to her customers. It was difficult to watch, and we were hungry. Walked in at 9am and left at 10:15 with only drinks in our belly. We won't be back for a long while hoping for a staff expansion or change. Would love to see this little neighborhood diner do better by their service.
Food was good, waitress was good , but 5 dollars for a tea when the menu says 3 is a bit high n when I asked if that was the price she was a lil rude , maybe I'm wrong but to me it seems high for a diner , not to mention we felt like we were being rushed 😕
I have never had a bad experience in this establishment UNTIL today and I've been going here for over 20 years. Today was a HUGE disappointment and I'm not sure if we will be returning. Don't advertise that you are open until 3pm when clearly you are not. We arrived ar 1:45pm for lunch and although our waitress was great as always the dishwasher clearly was rude and obnoxious. When there are 4 parties still in the dining room you should not put all the chairs on the tables in the entire restaurant and proceed to mop the floors at 2:15pm when people are TRYING to eat their lunch. No one EVER wants to smell BLEACH while they are eating or have their shoes basically mopped over either. We felt rushed and unwanted. As we were leaving we heard the employee say my "plan worked." He clearly wanted to close early as he followed us out the door and locked it....it was 2:40pm. We used to love it here...clearly the place has gone down hill. I'll be taking my business to the Market Diner and Gem and will be supporting my local businesses elsewhere.
I have to start by saying that I have been to this diner in the past and was generally pleased with their food. A few months ago I went with friends and the breakfasts that we ordered were mediocre. 2 of us had Greek omelettes and 1 person in out party had ordered the Belgian waffles. We were told that they were out of the Belgian waffles but would substitute a “regular” waffle. Let me just say, there was no comparison and we were charged full price for a waffle that was 1/3 the size! Today, I thought I would give the place another try. BIG mistake! My granddaughter ordered the Doubleplay, 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 slices of meat and 2 slices of toast. The scrambled eggs came and were brown in color, dried and just plain gross looking. The bacon was not crispy and just rubbery and fatty. NOT at all like the pictures represent in the add. I ordered poached eggs that came basically soft boiled, hardly any loose yolk. We had to ask for syrup for the pancakes, waitress never asked if everything was alright…not surprised… NEVER AGAIN!
April 29th, husband and I went for breakfast with our two granddaughters. There was a line to be seated. The women behind the counter threatened to walk out, was rude to any customer who asked approximately how long the wait was. Told another person to shut the door, and announced to everyone standing there they'll get to them when when they can, in a very sarcastic, and rude tone. Three people walked out. We ended up eating there. Food was ok, but I will definitely not be back. I'd rather spend my money where people are polite to their customers, and feel your business is appreciated.
Took my father to breakfast for Father’s Day, as you can imagine it was rather busy. My server Melissa was great and Vanessa seemed to be attentive to other tables.. however there was another server that ruined the experience for nearly everyone in the diner. Yelling, complaining, cursing, etc. I understand being overwhelmed because of how busy it was, but her attitude was another level. She was complaining about customers loudly as she walked through the diner. She called all the servers into the kitchen to yell at them even though there was a dining room full of tables they were trying to tend to. We were sat near where the servers put in the orders and grab the silverware/menus for the tables and instead of being able to enjoy our morning we instead listened to drama and aggression from one single staff member. I wish that an owner or manager had stepped in but instead I kept overhearing her escalating as time passed. Luckily she was not my server but with it being such a small environment the other server did ruin the experience. She had threatened to leave and I was hopeful that would occur because obviously she wasn’t in the correct headspace to be at work today. Food was great.. I just felt I had to rush to eat it before things got worse in there.
Stood at the door for 15 minutes In line just to get told to go sit somewhere. Then I go sit down and a family of three comes in 10 minutes after I sit down and they get their menu before I even got a couple of water. Don’t go to this place when it’s busy You might not even get checked out
We Came in for Father’s Day breakfast, we were a big table .. we were very patient, older waitress in red shirt was horrible - yelling at all the servers and customers, We are from out of town, in to see family from here and this was the worst experience I have had in a restaurant and as a owner of a restaurant myself it doesn’t matter how busy u are .. u act professional and treat your customers with respect .. She was the one out of line on all levels .. the poor staff and customers who had to deal with this verbally abusive behavior , slamming of plates yelling at other waiters and waitresses and customers . I am shocked .. due to the service NOT THE FOOD ! The food was great, as was the younger waiter who did end up helping us. He was amazing !!!
If I could give 0 star review I would, my mom , grandma, and two brothers went earlier today to grab lunch, and they were all treated so unbelievably poorly by A waitress that had short black hair with glasses ( They dont her remember her name ) My grandma ordered a French toasts, when it arrived, she started eating it and halfway through the toasts, she noticed a long gray hair in the middle of the french tots, she pulled it out, And showed my mom. My mom decided to Whisper what had happened to the waitress because she didn’t want to cause a scene. They loved the food and there was nothing wrong with it. It was just a hair. They weren’t looking to get any free food or anything, they just wanted to let the waitress so they could be a little more careful next time, The Waitress got mad and started confronting and aggressively telling my mom the hair was my grandmas, my mom tried to explain the best she could, ( because she doesn’t speak great English) she saw my grandma pulled her hair from the toast. The waitress left aggressively to talk to her manager, And came back saying they’re gonna take it off of the tab without a single apology. My grandma really did not care about the hair. She was totally fine eating the rest of the toasts but since she was full, she just put it in a box. The waitress came back yelling at them making a whole scene and demanding the box back. My mom was just speechless and didn’t know what to say, or do, but give the box back, this was incredibly unprofessional and the worst customer service I’ve ever seen. My family doesn’t speak a perfect English and Spanish is their first language. I do think they got mistreatment because of it. Please do better!
Every single time I went to this restaurant, the milk was sour so I started to bring my own and the waitress yelled at me and threatened me not to bring it in again and I asked her just to give me some Fresh milk the orange juice was watered down wasn’t worth paying the price for it. Multiple times the home fries were sour tasting as they went Expiration date. The waitress Was uncaring and too busy to take care of me. With a bad attitude and serve me cold marinara sauce. I asked her please help take care of me as she never came back to my table and scouted at me with a bad attitude. Watch out for the expired food you never know What you are gonna get?
