Always a great time when we visit Buca di Beppo. The food is always excellent quality and always fresh. Especially notice the difference and improvement over the last few months! A manager has always greeted our table and checks in with other guests with the same care and attention. We have had server David multiple times and he is always so polite and friendly. Quick and attentive to our needs and has always gotten our orders correct without errors. Love coming to this location and seeing such friendly faces to provide a positive experience!
Wow 👌 👏 😍 👍 🥰 Been here before, but this time was best. Brought some family and friends with. The food was very good service was excellent and the ambiance was over the top and clean. I was very impressed. There is a pope's room that what we had. Shows you historical painting s to current. A chair which we forgot to take pics in lol. Parking was very easy. Prices are affordable what what you receive. Many thanks for the lovely experience we all had. Much is due to the server, cook, manager. Wow 👌
The food here is always worth it from the portion to the amazing taste. My wife an I eat out regularly and in all honesty this is probably my favorite restaurant. Also Laura is amazing very friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
Stopped in about 4 pm on a Friday, and we were immediately seated. We were not familiar with the restaurant, so we did not realize everything was served family. Our waitress was great, and she explained how the regular order of something was enough for 3 people. My wife and I split an order of their lasagna, and we're very pleased with our selection. It was very flavorful and went great with the complimentary fresh bread. We must have really liked it because we finished it all!!
We had ordered a caramel bramble blackberry lemonade and this is what it came in. It was delicious! There food was delicious and the canoli was to die for!
AMAZING!! Jeff and his team are top notch here. They go above and beyond in everything they do and welcome you like family. Chisele our server was the best! She made sure we were taken care of and provided excellent customer service. Thank you guys for an awesome experience! I recommend sitting in the booth in the kitchen.. It makes you feel like you're in an italian movie.
Had a work get together there and the food and service was great.
We went for dinner here at Buca Di Beppo, it was absolutely delicious. The manager Jeff is awesome! We felt like VIP'S having dinner on a Saturday night. Our waitress Susan was awesome, makes you feel so important and she's efficient!!!! She's a riot... can't wait til we go for dinner again! The bruschetta is so good, we had the eggplant and Margherita pizza...oh so good. Thank you Jeff, Susan and Buca Di Beppo for a great dinner and great food. We will always ask for Sue to be our waitress!!! ❤️❤️🇮🇹🍝🇮🇹🍝
Feels like you’re in another country. Great place to go with larger groups of people especially because of the large shareable portions. Also super cool that each room has its own unique theme which is a great photo opportunity. I celebrated my birthday here recently and had an amazing time 🎉
My Valentine’s Day tradition! Cant miss it! Heart shaped lasagna, appetizers trio, drinks, canolis etc for $60! Best date ever!!
Sat at the table in the kitchen like an old school gangster. They showed all the food that came out of the kitchen and the bar. It was a great experience and will do it again. The food was amazing and sooooo much of it had the take it home and ate it for a few days. Everything we had tasted amazing.
Kaitlyn, Our waitress, was incredible! They had a bogo lunch deal and everything was delicious! Recommend anything with vodka sauce and their pesto creme sauce!
We had a phenomenal experience from call to close. Thanks to Jordyn the lovely person who took my calls twice just to make me a reservation last minute, and to our waitstaff Joe for not just providing us with friendly service at order time, but by going the extra mile for us..... making sure we understood portion sizes, giving us recommendations on items to order, and even kept the jokes and conversation coming throughout our meal. Very professional staff, clean restaurant and overall great place to dine-in. We celebrated my mom's bday today there and will definitely be back in the near future.
This was my first time here, the staff was so friendly and helpful the atmosphere is welcoming, lots of artwork on the walls! Definitely coming back!!
We go there every year for my birthday and the food/ atmosphere is awesome.
Buca trio platter was so amazing!!! The spicy shrimp was fire!!! It was enough for two people to eat and go straight to deserts! But we had chicken carbonara the “small” and it was enough for three people it was so rich and delicious. Can’t wait to go back! Our server was amazing too very knowledgeable and friendly!
This italian restaurant is really good and always has been! Some dishes are better than others, so it all depends on personal taste! Our favorites were the baked rigatoni and fettuccine alfredo (not pictured)! We got the lasagna too and it's prettyy good. Be aware of the portions however, each dish can feed people of two (but maybe not the ravioli). The place is beautiful with all the framed pictures and the ceiling of wine bottles. Yes, you read that right. We also got the tiramisu and chocolate cake for dessert! I felt like I was going to explode by how the time I finished because of how full I was but IT. WAS. DELICIOUS. Really do recommend!!
What a fun place for the family. The servings are large enough for the family and at a price that won't break the bank. The server was engaging and made for a festive dining experience. It was a wonderful experience for all. Thanks!
Tasty food. Friendly staff. Eccentric 'and' beautiful setting. Their small dishes feed three people and large ones feed five. Keep that in mind as you order.
This is the cutest restaurant! Food was absolutely great. Ronaldo gave us a great family dining experience.
Plan of having a feast if it is only 1 or 2 people. The plates are designed to serve 3. That is not and exaggeration.
Great portions great friendly service. Your able to split the bill amongst the group by portions. Today was our first time here. Holy moly where the servings huge. Everyone said they are big portions & I'm like ya ok! Well the pictures speak for themselves. Thank you all that took care of us today for our b day in the midst of this pandemic.
Had a great time here. The servings were humongous as a small serving is for 3 people and a large serves 5. Taste was also awesome. Ordered bruschetta, pizza, pasta, lasagna and salmon. I Loved the cosy vibe of the restaurant. Size of the tiramisu was the biggest i have ever seen of a single serving of sweetdish in my entire life😂, it could easily feed 3-4 people.
These one star reviews? They probably cry 😭 when the wind blows to hard. The workers are very respectful and my food always comes out warm and fresh!! 10/10 would recommend!
Great place for large gatherings. The family style portions are ridiculously huge. The decor is fun and eclectic. Very delicious.
Family style service, our waitress was great i wish I could remember her name, we were celebrating a birthday so we had a big crowd, she was attentive, friendly and did her job well. Food was great, drinks were great! Definitely would go back.
Immerse yourself in all the Italian- themed photographs on the wall! Dining area is a collection of rooms that make you feel like a mobster sitting in the back room. Even a booth in the kitchen, Believe it or not!
Our waitress Susan was wonderful. Very fun, and she was always quick with food and refills. Amazing food too! Loved this place!
Came here for Valentine's Day and there was a little wait, can't blame them. We got in after waiting for just a little bit. Food was great, service great, and was a great time. We would definitely come back. Good thing we made reservations.
We were among the many people who came here on Christmas. It was a last minute decision as our father is currently in the hospital, so we wanted to give my mom a break and take her out. We did make reservations the day before. We arrived around 5:10 for our 5:30 reservations. The lobby was packed, and they were checking in people as soon as they could. They were honest and said that they were running 20-30 minutes behind schedule. They also said food coming out of the kitchen could take almost an hour. However, knowing our options were limited, we decided to go with the flow. The staff was working hard, without a doubt! They were seating people as quickly as possible, even checking with one party to see if they could fit at a specific table (and they could because 2 of their group were small kids). We were seated around 6 p.m., so 30 minutes late. I will also say, that everyone around me in the lobby was in a pretty good mood, doing their best to help people and just being kind to each other. Once we were seated, our waiter Tim came by about 5-10 minutes later. We, like several others, browsed the menu while waiting so we could be ready to order when we did get seated. Tim was on top of it! He took our order right away, then brought some warm, fresh bread about 5 minutes later. Our salad came about 10 minutes later, and then our food took maybe another 20-25 minutes. Everything was hot and tasty! So not quite the hour that they said for "any" food, but nicely timed out anyway, in my opinion. Yes, it didn't help that someone pulled a fire alarm while we were in the lobby, as that stopped everything for a few minutes. It also didn't help that the people with pick up orders were standing right outside the kitchen door watching everything. They were going as fast as they could. We had planned to eat and get out as quickly as possible, so as to not hog the table. However, by the time we were done eating, it was about 7:20-7:30 and the crowd had definitely dissipated, so Tim said we were totally fine. It's also nice the way it's divided into so many rooms, so the noise isn't as much, you can actually have conversations. We really want to commend the staff for doing the best that they could. And our waiter Tim was really the perfect person for us, considering our situation. As I said, we never go out for dinner on Christmas, but we were trying to make sure my mom could relax and not cook, knowing my dad was in good hands.
I'm sure there's going to be a flood of reviews for Christmas dinner last night. If you were there, I may have held the door for you. I watched people walk in with a party of 4 and no reservations and then leave in disgust after being told it would be 2 hours. I saw a person arrive at 510pm to pick up food that was ordered for a 6pm pickup and then, after complaining that their food wasn't ready , stayed in the already crowded lobby. Someone pulled the fire alarm. That didn't help things. Neither did the goof parked in the fire lane. It was quickly resolved by the Lombard fire dept, with minimal disruption. Who thinks bringing Christmas gifts into a crowded restaurant is a good idea? It's not. I understand some people met there, but exchange the gifts to open later. I do want to thank everyone for leaving their pets at home. On the other hand, many more people left satisfied with the great food, the service, and the time spent with family. We had out of town family guests and the wait time and table service time was perfect for us to talk and catch up. Our group left last night with plans to meet up again soon. Thanks to everyone who made it such a great dinner.
Fantastic friendly service. I held a party for 40+ people. Deb was my event manager, and she was super friendly to talk to and provided great guidance and understanding to a first time hostess. I also over booked and over planned on drink tickets, but fortunately their refund policy is super gracious and fair. The servers were fantastic and super accommodating to helping my partner and I set up for our party. One of our servers, Chisele, was awesome about walking me through and even checking with me how food was to be brought out and served and how drinks would be handled. We also had an array of ages and abilities at the party which they handled perfectly. A family member who is neurodivergent and very particular about their food preferences loved the food and even went for seconds. Everyone had a great time, was well fed, and graciously accommodated. I could not have asked for a better experience for the special event I held here. Thank you to everyone on the Buca di Beppo team!
First time here. Our waitress was friendly, prompt and gave us just the right amount of attention. Our food was hot and fresh. Would definitely come back.
Great please for people that love pasta. We didn’t in particular like the lasagna as it was very dry but the fettuccine were very good. The salad was fresh and crispy. The lemon chicken is definitely my favorite. I felt a weird energy inside and wasn’t completely comfortable. It felt like we are all squeezed in a little area in front of the bar with columns in the middle of the walk aisle which also didn’t make the job easy for the servers. Not a lot of free parking when we went but it is part of a mall parking so you could find a spot at a decent walking distance
Ok came back after 20 years. I will always give props to this building itself. Even with a booth, in the kitchen that you can reserve ! Let's see the food is ok, nothing to write home about. They want it to be family style, considering a small portion to feed 3 or 4 people. Hence why the rigatoni was $39 bucks. But at the same time it's ala cart. Meaning you want a aalad you can get a family style one for $28 bucks, bread, $20 bucks. They should either up the price of the entree and include bread salad and maybe an appatizer. That is a truly family style italian dinner. But the breads $18 bucks. Come on. If it's just 2 of you, how much bread can you eat. So that part of the experience is bogus. Service, our server never brought water which I think should be standard at any restaurant regardless..Also, she wasn't refilling the pops. We got the calamari and spicy rigatoni. again, I've had better. It was good dont get me wrong but no where near the best. I think if they did a truly family style dinner and gave there food some type of flavor or pizzaz, this place would do VERY well.
Authentic and creative Italian eats. Family size portions. You will likely have plenty of left over to take. 1/2 off spaghetti Monday! Service is friendly but a bit slow. Catholic , Italian memorabilia all around.
The quantity and quality of the food was superb! Up to 7 adults can eat in their large bowl of pasta. Our favorite was the Spicy Shrimp in appetizers. What you can do is have them add an appetizer within your main meal. We went for a late dinner on a friday night and the staff was so kind and welcoming despite almost coming to closing. Our server was Joseph and he explained to us quite well their menu in detail. The entire environment was so homely and cozy! Will definitely go again.
It was very hectic on Xmas day I made a reservation we waited 40 mins til seated then waiter didn’t come for another 20 mins food came out after another 30 mins. Food was okay nothing to complain abt but the prices seem high for the size of the portions served .. then to top it off fire alarms are goin off like crazy ..I would actually like my money back this experience was very odd and crazy .. disappointed I chose this place to take my family for dinner I’m pretty much embarrassed
Omg I had this In Indianapolis and it was a HIT! I TOLD MY FRIEND ABOUT IT! THE FOOD EXPERIENCE HERE AND ITS WAS SOOOOO BAD!! NOOOOO FLAVOR AT ALL! LOOKS ARE DECEIVING...I LITERALLY NEVER PICK UP SALT AND ADD TO MY FOOD I DID IT A FEW TIME TO ALFREDO AND CHICKEN PARMESAN STILL DID NOT HELP.....MAN OH MAN I WAS SO EMBARRASSED THAT I SPOKE SO HIGHLY OF IT TO BE LET DOWN. My friend said he will pick the food next time smh.... it $100 bucks for 2 people wasted. I felt so bad he wasted his money. Dang we saved our appetite. OLIVE GARDEN MADE THIS LOOK BAD!! THE CHICKEN PARMESAN WAS SOGY AND TASTLESS. BREAD NOT FLAVORFUL AT ALL! We didn't make a fuss we smiled was polite paid left and trashed the food. OH if looks determined the taste it would have been AMAIZING!!
Decor wise a place well past its prime, too crowded and sometimes a bit creepy imo. - wouldn't definitely want to sit at the table with an antique statue of the Pope! The Pasta was very good. Appetizers nice and portions ENORMOUS! A 3 just because of the food.
Ambience is amazing! I wish i can say same for food. Quantity is quite good. The small size can feed 4 easily. But taste is just average. Even for cocktails, I would say it was quite mediocre in taste. For that price i was expecting much better experience which I didn’t get. Tiramisu was too big and had tons of cream and didn’t look pretty or delicate. But they had many options for vegetarian which was a plus.
This is a family style resturant so your plates come out really huge! The food is good! My husband made a reservation for a special celebration, he told them this when making the reservation, we didn't celebrate when we got there. We went on a Monday night, we had 3 children with us, it was a very slow night, only a few tables. When we were seated we walked through the kitchen so our children seen the cooks and the manager, that was really cool for them. We got our table and it took forever to be greeted, our server hardly came to our table, only to take our order and drop off our food. We never received re-fills on drinks, not once, after our food came she didn't even come back to our table until we were ready for the check. We didn't get to celebrate, we literally ordered food, ate and left. I really really wanted to have a wonderful experience here, we have been wanting to try this resturant for awhile, the food was good, the service was not. Maybe I will give it another try & hope for a different server this time but I was disappointed with this experience.
Well…this has been my husband and my favorite place to go for special occasions. We love Buca. When we went for our anniversary in early November, we had several issues which was a big bummer. I reached out through their website about it twice and never received a response. It should have been resolved/corrected, we didn’t receive part of our meal and it was a rough experience that was super disappointing, especially for an anniversary. Really frustrated and disappointed we never received an email nor phone call from the Lombard location after the two attempts to get stuff solved, it’s been just shy of two months since we went at this point. Love Buca, but this was a hit for us.
The first thing I noticed when being sat down was the sofa was ripped and the celing appearing to have have been ripped as well. We didn't get any straws for our drinks even when the 1 other party infront of us did. The Chicken Limone was great but the Fettuccine Alfredo was very bland and charged nearly an extra $8 to add chicken. My advice is don't come here for any special occasion only for a big group dinner, and it wasn't worth the price in the end.
Well, what can I say? The atmosphere is very warm and inviting. I definitely take Italian dining to a whole Nother level on that experience. The bartender/server was very polite and kind to us. She even suggested some good deals. But that’s about where it stops. We did order the $50 deal that they had going on. The salad was OK, it’s kinda hard to mess up salad. The garlic bread that they give you was also just OK. The chicken Parmesan lacked any flavor and was almost kind of soggy breading at that. The spaghetti tasted like unfortunately something you could make it home with a jar of meat sauce. As in Italian, I was very disappointed. I can’t really say I would be back, the value versus quality wasn’t there
The food is not worth the price! The service was amazing and the atmosphere is nice, but the quality of the food was unacceptable for an average of $40-$50 per entre, even if it IS family-style. The calamari was OK, though I think it would pair much better with a lemon aioli instead of the marinara it came with. For our meal, we ordered the lasagna and the salmon - both came out MUCH quicker than expected. The lasagna was terribly dry and the sauce poured over the top was chunky and borderline coagulated. We recognize that lasagna has to be prepared somewhat in advance, but this seemed VERY old - Cook less, more often! The salmon was cooked fine, but flavorless aside from the lemon sauce it was in. Unfortunately, this is not an establishment I would revisit again... and a manager walking around giving out coupons for return visits tells me that I'm not the only person who feels that way.
I truly feel for the hardworking staff who were doing their best under extremely chaotic conditions on Christmas Day. That said, the overall experience was very disappointing. We pre-ordered Christmas Day dinner with a scheduled pickup time of 3:30 PM, but I didn’t leave with our order until 4:50 PM. The wait was excessive, and unfortunately the food quality did not make up for it. The lemon chicken was missing its gravy, and the Italian broccoli romano had no seasoning at all—it was essentially plain steamed broccoli and was already browning. Our salad was also not up to the quality we expected. The baked ziti was missing most of the sauce. We were missing our bread for our order too. Chicken parm was extremely thin patties. I want to be clear that my frustration is not directed at the frontline employees, who were working hard in an overwhelming situation. Management, however, needs to take accountability for the breakdown in execution and process. Customers trusted this restaurant with an important holiday meal and spent good money expecting a well-organized pickup and quality food. I sincerely hope management recognizes and thanks the employees who stayed and pushed through the chaos, and also takes steps to make this right for the customers who were impacted. We spent over 500 dollars for a meal worth at least 50. We would like a refund for this unfortunate dinner.
Sadly prices are way too expensive . I have never seen so expensive pasta with basic amount of meet or veggies. $38 plus tax so more than $40 dollars. You have the option that is big but that is $51 plus tax for pasta with tomato sauce! menu was limited. Service had memory issues and he avoided eye contact with us waiting to pay the bill for 20 minutes. There is an African-American server who wasn't out server but we want to make sure his boss knows he was amazing with his tables. Full of energy, big smile, genuine interest in his customers. We ate fine but it was way overpriced and we will go to other Italian places with same food but less. Best option is share one big to eat as other places but then you have to eat the same. Plus we were there for a birthday and the waiter not even said happy birthday or congratulations. Even less a tiny piece or cake or ice cream either. Restaurant was pretty empty but they put us all in a tiny room and all tables and seats taking back to back while rest of the place totally empty. It felt crowded, loud and not pleasant. Menus has strong fragrance scent residue and I'm allergic to fragrances so it was a hassle . Very disappointing. Not coming back.
Had a 5:30 reservation of 4 on Christmas, was told it would be at least 7 when we'd get any food. Someone was either incompetent or greedy to keep so many people waiting for so long. My family drove home upset, angry, and hungry on Christmas day. Don't bother opening if you can't serve your guests. I feel for the staff that were put in a bad situation but a lot of holidays were ruined tonight.
We got the Alfredo and spicy shrimp. Both were terrible. The noodles tasted like water noodles, absolutely no flavor at all and the shrimp had a slight kick but also no flavor at all. The free bread that they bring out is terrible as well. On top of that, it’s expensive because it’s family style serving. Only plus is everyone is super kind.
