We absolutely love Copita. The food is consistently delicious, the staff are patient, attentive and genuinely welcoming, and the atmosphere is always buzzy but still warm and relaxed. We’ve been back multiple times now and it never disappoints. Highly recommend.
Perfect meal, perfect place to be especially when you’re super hungry. Grima who’s very friendly and accommodating gave us a very good service. You must put this restaurant in your must place to visit if you fancy a Spanish dinner. Grima will for sure take care of you and will make your dining experience unforgettable.
Incredible Spanish and excellent value. We shared 7 dishes and had plenty leftover to take home (5-6 including dessert probably best for 2 people). Every dish has something special about it and I would order again…favourites were the apple crumble, artichoke and prawns. Portions were generous.
This is the best place I’ve eaten in London, hands down! Including much more expensive places. The flavors are rich, complex, and balanced. I highly recommend the blank ink rice (INCREDIBLE), chorizo iberico, and sweet potato bravas. I was initially disappointed they didn’t have normal patatas bravas, but they were so good! Plus, the service is warm, attentive and friendly (something most service in London is NOT). The space is also super cozy, and the atmosphere is bubbling with conversation but not too loud. They’re also great with gluten allergies - very attentive and many of their dishes are safe. This place is truly incredible - go if you’re at all able!
Came her for a few birthday drinks and was pleasantly surprised to see that it’s a Michelin star restaurant! Great drink selection. We also got a few nibbles to eat; highly recommend the mushroom croquettes, so rich and creamy with a perfectly crispy exterior. We also got their burnt milk ice cream (divine), pear crumble (lovely and crunchy) and the burnt aubergine. The burnt aubergine wasn’t my favourite as I wasn’t a fan of the texture. All in all, would recommend and can’t wait to visit again!
We absolutely loved our experience at Copito. Here, you feel like family, or friends they haven’t seen in ages. Wine is fabulous, food quality is great, my only gripe was the cocktails - not prepared traditionally and lots of ice fragments. Otherwise, absolutely fab and I’d highly recommend to anybody.
We had a fantastic evening at this lovely Spanish pub/restaurant. The food and atmosphere were great, but what truly made the night special was the incredible service from Mica. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making us feel looked after from the moment we arrived. Her energy and kindness really elevated the whole experience and made our night out memorable. Thank you, Mica, for going above and beyond , we’ll definitely be back!
Fantastic food and wonderful service. I was greeted quickly upon arrival and water was provided immediately (a nice touch as I always like some water before I have wine.) The person serving me was friendly, smiling and very knowledgeable, helping with both my food and wine choices. The bread and olives arrived very quickly and then the other dishes came out at a comfortable pace. Ox Cheek: incredible! Wonderful depth of flavour, I could happily eaten much more of this! Chicken: boneless which was nice as it saves messing with the bones. Nicely cooked, skin was well seasoned and flavoursome but the other chicken needed a little more flavour (but was still very good!) Bread and olives: lovely Beetroot: nicely presented with a lovely mix of textures with the nuts giving a nice crunch. Cheesecake: beautiful, and the sorbet went perfectly with the indulgent chocolate The only downside is how limited space is here, seated very close to other guests and although I was comfortable it was a little tighter on space than I prefer. Highly recommended as the food and service was fantastic. Thank you :)
Just had an amazing meal here! Food was amazing, service was impeccable, atmosphere was really cool and we managed to get seated without a reservation but I would book if you wanted to guarantee getting in as it got mega busy quickly. Food was just so delicious! Would highly recommend checking this place out!!
The food is on another level. They have elevated simple tapas into something really interesting. Every dish we had was great including the daily specials, which would compel me to want to try the other dishes we didn't. The flavours, textures and tastes were tremendous, this resteraunt is really worth a visit.
I come here every time I’m in London and it never fails to be one of my favorite meals. Tucked away on a side street with a small bar and chairs that line counter seating, the service is always friendly and well paced. There are regular dishes (garlic prawns, octopus, sweet potato patatas bravas) and some new ones each time (scallops, fish cakes) so you won’t get bored of the menu. I’ve never had something I didn’t enjoy or absolutely love. Excellent flavors, great for sharing tho very large groups wouldn’t do well here given the seating arrangements. Extensive (mostly) Spanish wine list. On a weekend night it can be loud and lively. On a rainy weekday it can be chill and relaxed. When it’s nice out you might be lucky to get one of the small tables outside and feel the energy of the neighborhood while you eat. All great ways to enjoy Copita.
1. Highly recommended. Barcelona tapas in Soho… outstanding and delicious we had 3 dishes (2 photographed) a small sample but we also saw other dishes on adjoining tables. Service was smooth and smiling. We’ll return. 2. I’ve returned 26/11/21 for a light lunch. Too cold outside; given outward facing table with high stool which I like better than a table. I was alone. I asked for a strongly flavoured warming spicy Spanish red wine 🍷 while I looked through the menu.. with the first sip, it was just what I needed. See menu:- I chose scallops and truffled goats cheese. You can’t believe how delicious each dish was; I loved each full flavoured bite. Each bite filled my mouth with gorgeous flavours and textures. Goats cheese with honey, nuts and a touch of truffles. The scallops, slightly browned to add flavour but leaving the scallops softly cooked and almost sweetly jelly like to the bite. The bacon flavoured sauce matched it perfectly. It was an absolute joy to pause here for my lunch. Much recommended.
Great selection of authentic tapas with a modern twist. Everything we had was really delicious and the staff were all lovely. Great atmosphere in a little street behind Oxford street.
So happy we were recommended to try this place! Super cozy atmosphere! The food was really really good. The beef/steak dish was probably my favourite as the steak was so so tender! Thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, will be back for sure!
Six plates for two of us, which was just the right amount of food. Here’s I’d rank what we ordered. 1) Peppered steak 2) mushroom croquettes 3) empanadillas 4) Heirloom tomatoes and artichoke 5) broccolini 6) truffles goat cheese. All were good. The goat cheese was a little overrated. The service was great. Food came quickly. Great tapas restaurant.
I’ve tried a lot of tapas but the dishes here are by far the best! So many unique options to choose from and none of them disappoint! Service is so quick and the staff could not be lovelier, they genuinely seem to enjoy working here which is rare but so nice and makes the experience that much better. Couldn’t fault it at all!
Absolutely one of the best! Food was soo delicious I didn’t want to leave! We celebrated our anniversary in May there, and service was amazing, very attentive , friendly. Loved it! Thanks guys! We will be back.
Food was absolutely delicious & service was friendly and polite. I used to be a chef at a Spanish tapas restaurant myself so it was nice to see some fusion dishes & some creative twists on standard menu items. Can’t speak for the meat dishes as we mainly had veggie options but flavours were great & portions were generous and filling. Will definitely be back.
Fantastic tapas. And definitely get the cheesecake!!! Ox cheeks were amazing Goat cheese Aubergine Croquetas ...would order all again. Only meh dish was the black rice but still good
I found this place by chance after the place I wanted to visit was closed and I am so glad I did. It was Saturday lunch time on a dreary day. It was very busy but not so busy I couldn't get a seat. All the seats are high bar stools at raised benches. The service was incredible. Placing an order was quick but not rushed. Food came out at different times but it wasn't long between plates. And I had a really good - and huge - Paloma. I had boquerones, scallops and the mushroom croquettes. All excellent. The vibe was very loud and buzzy. I think if it was the evening and people had more wine and larger groups and were a little bit rowdy it would be difficult to hear one another. But when I was there, it was really great. Unfortunately, due to the stools, doorway and stairs to the bathroom I don't think this is would be a great place for people with limited mobility. But I am sure the staff would do their absolute best to make anyone comfortable if possible.
Don't expect a traditional Spanish menu, classic dishes with a nice twist to it. Impressed with the food we had, was actually delicious. We shared the plates between two people and with some bread on the side was filling & good dinner. downside - the portions which are not appealing for the price. Expect to spend at least £40 with just one beer as a drink.
Couldn't book a table a couple days in advance, but walked in and got 2 bar seats for 1 hour {we ended up sitting longer and it was fine}. Most dishes were quite good, though some I felt more neutral towards. The ox was the star of the evening, as it was very tender and easily finished. However, the rosemary ice cream in my dessert is also worth highlighting for its unique and herby taste. Was still a bit hungry after everything was finished, so I would recommend ordering more if you can!
We had a wonderful experience at Copita. The food was delicious and the staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and quick to rectify a dish that contained an allergen for my friend. While we understand tapas is a quicker dining experience, we were catching up on a Friday night and felt a little rushed despite being within our allocated time. Aside from that, the food, wine, and service were excellent.
quite lovely tapas and casual atmosphere. the mushroom croquettes were by far the best. they were the perfect texture and the filling was tasty and not overly creamy. the truffled goat cheese was also wonderful, but definitely a dish for sharing as the truffle gets a tad overpowering by the end. the ox cheek had great flavor and the potato purée was smooth and decadent. however, the squid unfortunately felt more like a rice dish given the ratio of rice to squid. the cauliflower also would have benefited from a bit more seasoning to better complement the wonderful sauce.
After living in Spain for many years, it was good to have the classics (chorizo, jamon, pimientos de patron, gambas, presa iberica). All media-racion at best. Not cheap (142 £ for 2 pax and 6 dishes plus wine & bread). Excellent friendly and fast service. Biggest issue is the thumping bass music that makes conversation difficult. Once you are back out on the street, it's like "aahh! No noise".
Very nice tapas, cosy sitting (bar stools) and a nice g&t menu. Favourites were the octopus, mushrooms coquette, king prawns (shelled), burnt aubergine 🍆 👌 a bit strict on the 90min table rile though for a Tuesday night even though there were clearly still seats around.
The food is nice but the place is a bit too noisy for my taste. Maybe it's better to go there with a group of friends instead of trying to have a romantic dinner.
Great restaurant in central London! Really good tapas and good vibe. Did have to wait an hour for our food though, however was made up with a free drink (although had to ask and originally was told no). Would recommend!
Loved the mussel and chicken skewers!
overall: decent tapas, not the best value atmosphere: went on a thursday evening, it was quite loud in the restaurant nicer dishes: mushroom croquettes, beef onglet revisit? maybe
A buzzy atmosphere of chatting guests, relaxed vibe & lighting and authentic Spanish tapas bar and stool seating….. The food was excellent and most dishes reasonably priced for central London. The Empanada’s and the Sweet Patata Bravas were delicious and were packed full of flavour. The scallop dish was disappointing as just two scallops and the sauce lacked flavour. Overall, a wonderful evening had and I would recommend!
Very nice tapas restaurant with a great selection to choose from. My favourite was the squid ink rice with just a hint of spice. I love the ambience, music and casual seating arrangements. With only one toilet for the males that wasn’t flushing was a bit of a disaster on the night we went. It was going to get messy in there
Walked in because it looked nice and cute. Had beer, the pimentos and the goat cheese with honey and almond flakes. Very tasty, attentive staff and nice ambiance. Will definitely come back!
Super loud but the atmosphere is so fun and in general the food was only okay but I loved their sweet potato bravas and their artichoke dish had the yummiest sauce but the rest of their food (that I had) was so-so (including the jamon iberico, king prawns, scallops, bread and olives, churros). Great service though, our waitress was so lovely.
Came here on a Thursday evening for dinner with some friends. We had made a reservation prior but it wasn't actually that busy with some empty seats at 6pm. I was greeted by a member of staff nicely and got seated almost immediately. Friends arrived shortly after and we decided to order separate tapas since two of them were vegetarians. I shared the sweet potato bravas, grilled squid with black ink rice and beef onglet with one friend. The sweet potato bravas were honestly the highlight of my entire meal - sweet, savoury with the special creamy sauce and the nuts on top really brought out all the flavours and it was extremely morish. The black ink rice, on the other hand, was disappointingly bland. We had high hopes for this dish because we saw so many photos of it on Google maps but we had to add lots of salt to it to make it better. But perhaps this was the most authentic way to cook it and we just didn't like it. The beef onglet was also very chewy and we couldn't really taste much beef in it. The shallot on the side helped but overall it took us a long time to chew before swallowing and texture it just wasn't the best. My vegetarian friends quite enjoyed their tapas I think. They ordered the artichokes and fried peppers, as well as the mushroom croquettes and they seemed to enjoy every single one of the tapas. Overall, the vibes were nice with high chairs and high tables so this place is good for both social gatherings and dates. But even though they have been recommended by Michelin a few times I just didn't think it was the kind of food quality I was looking for. Apart from the sweet potato bravas, I wouldn't really recommend anything else. But this is all just my personal opinion.
The smell when entering the restaurant was immediately inviting, and overall the food was excellent. The restaurant only offers bar seating, which I normally don’t mind, but after about two hours these sepcific bar stools became quite uncomfortable and made the evening a bit less pleasant. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She was very attentive and it seemed like she was running the entire floor on a very busy evening, yet we always felt well looked after. We ordered quite a few dishes to share: the truffled goat’s cheese, empanada, burnt aubergine, tacos, beef onglet, sweet potato bravas, and a cheese board. Every dish was delicious and cooked very well, although the empanada was the only one I didn’t particularly enjoy. The sweet potato bravas were interesting, though I personally prefer the classic potato version. The wine was also very good. One thing that could be improved is the timing of the food. Many dishes arrived all at once, which meant some items got cold. It might be nicer if certain dishes were paced a little better or served together as shared plates. At the end, the bill can be paid either via QR code or by card machine. However, the restaurant adds a £1 service charge plus a 13.5% service charge. When paying through the QR code, it also prompts you to add an additional tip. I found this quite misleading, especially for visitors who may not realise that a service charge is already included in London. While the service was genuinely excellent, the additional charges felt excessive. Overall, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice, but the uncomfortable seating and the extra charges made the evening feel a bit overpriced for what should be a fairly standard night out.
In general the dishes were ok but not amazing; the grilled octopus and the squid ink rice were super salty and toggled the experience. Overpriced for dining, but if you want to go grab a drink with just a few tapas it might be a total different experience.
Delicious mushroom croquettes and a nice spin on traditional patatas bravas. However, as a vegetarian my options were limited because many vegetarian options on the menu (the main ones I wanted) were out of stock. The ajo blanco and beetroots were bland and boring, where as the tenderstem broccoli was underwhelming- quite overpriced for what it was.
Very small portions , very expensive. The staff were not particularly helpful and seemed too busy on their computer. The food wasn’t very tasty. I ordered the ox cheek - it was a little oily and buttery. I went because I used to go to the original tapas place here which was buzzing and had great food. It seems to have gone downhill since it changed from bar Rica. It makes sense that it was very quiet now.The food came out surprisingly fast so it probably wasn’t freshly cooked.
We were really disappointed with our experience here. The portions were shockingly small for the price — the ox cheek was literally about the size of a fist, gone in just a couple of bites, and the aubergine dish was barely half an aubergine. For two people we spent nearly £100 and left still feeling hungry. The quality of the dishes simply doesn’t justify the cost.
Adventurous isn't always positive. The food is definitely different compared to other places but in so doing it becomes either a love it or hate it sort of thing. Usually a fan of squid ink rice & squid and this one wasn't bad although the squid was a bit soft (equivalent of rare you might say) so felt a bit squishy biting through. Mushroom croquettes only had two in the plate, not bad but overly creamy. The beef as you see in the pic was very red on the inside again not to everyone's taste. I enjoyed the patatas bravas with sweet potato, it was different and as I enjoy sweet potato I found it tasty. Really didn't enjoy the aubergine plate, it's just one lump of aubergine without much flavour, the Hazlenut & sauce with it were the only thing adding a bit of flavour. Service was a mix, one very polite waiter and one expressionless waitress.
