I love the decoration in the restaurant! The big table and how much space has between each table definitely provides privacy between different parties. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The bread was freshly baked and tasty. The cheesecake was the highlight of the dinner. I highly recommend this place and will visit again!
Best Spanish restaurant in London. Exceptional produce, service, and ambience, pure perfection. Oscar was outstanding, explaining dishes and wine pairings, offering great recommendations, and making us feel at home. Stunning food, warm atmosphere. We’ll be back and can’t recommend it highly enough.
It was a pleasant experience from start to finish! The staff were very attentive, prompt and friendly. We tried most of the menu options and they were all good! As it’s tapas, recommend 3-4 dishes for person. We got the basque cheesecake for dessert and it was perfect to top off the meal!
We recently visited Hispania, located in the financial district of London City, and I must say it was a delightful experience. As a Spaniard, I often find myself feeling a bit let down by Spanish restaurants abroad, but this was definitely not the case with Hispania. It was refreshing to see a restaurant that not only respects traditional Spanish cuisine but also elevates it with a touch of luxury. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, offering a perfect balance of privacy and comfort. The interior design, paired with the attentive and professional service, makes you feel genuinely valued as a guest. The staff, including the manager, went above and beyond to ensure our experience was nothing short of excellent. The food was genuinely delicious. While every dish was well-prepared and flavorful, the mushroom croquettes were a particular highlight—simply exquisite! The menu offers a broad range of authentic Spanish dishes, all prepared with evident care and quality ingredients. One pleasant surprise was the pricing. Considering the location and the elevated dining experience, the prices were quite reasonable. I left feeling not only satisfied with the food but also pleased with the overall value. If you’re looking for an authentic Spanish dining experience in London, Hispania is a must-visit. Whether you’re Spanish yourself or simply a lover of good food, this restaurant offers a genuine taste of Spain with a level of service and ambiance that makes you want to return. I’d definitely recommend it!
Absolutely delicious! The croquettes are so delicious and melt in your mouth I would eat these everyday if I could (and not put on any weight!!). I want to make everything I tried at home, that's how utterly scrumptious the food was. If I could give 10 stars I would! The staff were super attentive and friendly even though it was very busy, which is a wonderful touch. A lovely place, lovely atmosphere, beautiful plates and decorations. Also the women's toilet wallpaper, wonderful.
We had a great evening at HispaniaLondon, a Spanish restaurant that really stands out — not just for the high-quality food, but also for its gorgeous interiors and lively atmosphere. Everything we tried was packed with flavour, but the stars of the night were definitely the eggs with Ibérico ham (so simple, yet so good) and the Iberian Shoulder Wellington. A brilliant mix of traditional and creative. If you're after a place that brings authentic Spanish vibes to London, this one's worth a visit.
The resturant is very nice. Staff are amazing. Food is great, infact lots of Spanish eat here. Had prowns in garlic sauce as a starter and the small peace of cochinijo which was very filling a d tasty. Tried also from our table, the Solomillo iberico (amazing) and Steak tartar (best ever tried) where amazing
The food was great and our server was really nice! Real Spanish food. Great atmosphere and amazing service. The server really knew his stuff.
Hispania is a top-tier Spanish restaurant in London, offering a sublime blend of traditional Spanish cuisine and modern flair. The fishing-inspired dishes are impeccable, showcasing fresh, high-quality ingredients. The ambience is sophisticated yet welcoming, reflecting the essence of Spain. The attention to detail and exceptional service make dining here a remarkable experience. Perfect for those seeking an authentic taste of Spain with a contemporary twist. Highly recommended for food enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
Probably the best Spanish restaurant in London. From the moment you enter the restaurant, the vibe and atmosphere was brillant. All the staff are very friendly and the food is absolutely amazing. The hardest part of the evening was to choose the food. Everything looks so delicious. We started with the tuna tartare, which melt in your mouth like snow flakes, and the foie gras served with broken walnuts. So tasty. Then for mains, we had the veal escalope stuffed with spanish ham and cheese which was made with such harmony, and the famous suckling pig. Again, bursting with flavours and finishing like a firework on your palate. That was such an incredible dining experience. A special thank you to David for making that evening so memorable. He is friendly, efficient and very customer oriented who will make you feel confortable and welcome.
Based on how much my partner and I enjoyed our meal, this place seriously deserves a Michelin star. Beyond excellent service and excellent value as well. What a gem in the City.
Great food, great service and great experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good quality Spanish food and wines. It might be a bit pricey but definitely worth it
This place fully deserves my 5 star review. Everything is top notch, service and food. Stuff is extremely attentive, polite and pleasant. Would be back. Loved octopus and the lamb
What a lovely place. Once you inside you sre In Spain.. Great atmosphere, lovely food and wines. See you soon.
A girlfriend brought me to this lovely restaurant for my birthday, and it was delicious. I highly recommend the chips with cured meat and egg. I don't think I'll ever look at a standard plate of chips again. We also had the suckling pig, to share and it turned out that the chips and the croquettes we ordered meant we could hardly finish the suckling pig, but regardless, it was still super tasty. The service was fab too. Just a very lovely place to visit for a special meal. Recommendations is to listen to the wait staff when he tells you that's a lot of food ;).
I should have taken more photos of our food! It was all so good, I didn't make time to stop for pictures. Anthony was our server and he was excellent! Totally made our entire experience. His recommendations were amazing. Sangria cava, croquetas Jamon, ensaladillla rusa, gamba aljillo and the pork chimichurri all knocked it out of the park. We love tapas. We will talk about this meal and our amazing server for decades!
Honestly brilliant Spanish restaurant with right in spot services and great taste. Jamon is great and the Iberian pork with foie gras is ver tasty.
We recently had dinner in Hispania with my boyfriend and I can only rate it with 5 stars. The food was exceptional - I highly enjoyed the monkfish and the jamon croquetas - and the wine list very extensive. Our waiter Eduardo was very pleasant and attentive and made our dinner a great experience. The ambience is modern but very cozy and peaceful.
Amazing delicious tapas , cozy environment and exceptional service.
Incredible place. Great food and wine. Went for the pork cheeks and truffle mash, beautiful. I highly recommend!
The best Spanish restaurant in London. It is so amazing, I recommend to the "croquettes" and "Steak tartar". Fran and his colleagues are so fabulous.
Delicious food, great service and nice atmosphere. It's not cheap but it is really really tasty.
Amazing service. Shared three tapas and a main each, whichbwas more than enough food. Unfortunately it is only open during weekdays, but we will definitely visit again.
Great venue and good, excellent service and the generous manager gave us free aperitifs!
Impeccable food, attentive staff: all round a really nice place for a meal
The best 2 michelin Star spanish restaurante
Everything was perfect — the food was delicious, the service was attentive, and the design was beautiful. The only downside was the noise level; it got quite loud inside, making conversation a bit difficult. Still, a fantastic experience overall.
Went for a dinner with four colleagues. In this area, there tends to be quite expensive restaurants that doesn't really live up to the price tag. Hispania is not one of them! Excellent all the way through. Perfectly attentive waiter, knowlegdable and very clear in his suggestions (I hate it when they say 'everything is good' when asked for recommendations). I had beautiful and delicious jamon iberico in various shapes and tastes for starters, and the polpo (octopus) for mains. Everyone enjoyed the food. With a bottle of wine and some other drinks we paid roughly £65 per head. Not cheap, but not extortionate. And quality all the way. I'll return with my wife next time we're in London (table already booked).
As close to being in España as is possible in Londres. The food was genuine, the service gracious and friendly (especially our Argentinian camarero). The atmosphere was friendly but a bit loud as the evening progressed. Overall, a trip home to Valencia in just minutes! Gracias al equipo.
I had a wonderful time here, dining with a party of five. The restaurant itself is beautiful and impressive, the service was impeccable and professional, the food was excellent (and as a group we covered a fair amount of the menu), but the desserts deserve a special mention, in particular the arroz con leche. I would definitely recommend Hispania, and look forward to coming back!
Excellent food, perfect service. A little bit loud as crowded - which just proves that this is a great place
One of the best restaurants I have been in London. Service was amazing with smiley waiters. Red tuna dish was so tasty. They were also so sweet to gift Spanish honey as a valentine's day gift in the end. Thanks so much!
I had a lovely time here. I went around 5pm on Tuesday night and I was lucky for it to be quite. I had amazing service from beginning to end. The food was really nice, we had the sauted vegetables and wellington - both were great dishes - and lovely glass of red to go with it.
We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday; the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was phenomenal. The croquettes are definitely a must-have. We also had the venison loin and pork cheeks, both were beautifully cooked and presented and absolutely delicious. Definitely reccomend!
Bread is very good. Galicia steak is well cooked and very local. Slightly too raw for my standard but the chef cooked it again to suits my taste. Very good service and location.
Classy tapas place with good selections and Spanish wine. The foods served were delicate and well prepared to perfection. I hope the price point was slightly lower so I can go visit the place more often. Service and environment is superbly cozy.
Wow really really nice food. And the decor of the place is cool, the floor tiles are awesome. Wine was very tasty too. Expensive place but then that's why its so nice I suppose!
Upmarket Spanish restaurant within a stones-throw of Bank. Located in a former bank itself, the restaurant is light & airy and spread over two floors. Very nicely appointed. The tapas dishes appear to be the most popular and the quality is excellent. The relatively high prices reflect both the area and the imported Spanish ingredients. Excellent service too with mainly Spanish-speaking staff. Very popular for business meetings so a little ‘corporate’ rather than romantic on weekdays.
Really good food, especially Iberico ham and monk fish, prawn was quite salty. The place was well decorated. Staff was a bit slow and it was difficult to get their attention. The price was expensive for the portion we got.
Had dinner upstairs. Very nicely decorated, great atmosphere, very good service. Appetizers were super, my main course not so. Was a kind of Spanish schnitzel, with the cheese inside being so salty, that I could hardly recognise what I was eating. All the taste was spoiled.
We had a great meal with excellent service from Estefania, a very lively buzzing atmosphere on a Thursday night in December, definitely worth a return visit. The only criticism I (and my dining companion) have is - who stole all the padding from the chair cushioning?? It really was quite uncomfortable being able to feel the frame of the chair underneath us. (And in case you're wondering - no, we're not super old!).
I visited this restaurant as part of a corporate event. The table setting was beautiful however the service wasn't so great. I ordered Ratatouille for my starter and it was delicious however the main was a bit basic. May be my personal preference but fine dining really don't like bespoke, there was not a sight of green on my plate of lamb and when asked to add some veggies the chef declined to oblige. The lamb was missing the Ratatouille for extra moist and flavour in my opinion. Lastly I was upset that the waiting staff refused to serve me a hot beverage. I was not happy with my experience. Like I said maybe this cuisine is not my personal taste, I like a more relaxed environment and a flexibility to receive feedback that most non Michelin star restaurants are open to.
Service - 3 stars Service at the beginning was great but after dessert we couldn't even get a glass of water or the bill. The manager finally came and asked if everything was ok. When we said that yes except slow service at the end his response was "oh" and walked away. (No apologies or anything at all). Food - 3 stars Gambas al ajillo - delicious 5 stars Croquetas de jamón - great 4 stars Huevos rotos - 5 stars Arroz con presa iberica - 1 star. Sorry this was not tasty at all. Extremely oily and we just couldn't eat it Dessert (forgot the name) - 5 stars The venue is beautiful and great but service and food could be improved
Although a very pleasant environment the quality of dishes did not match the price. Flavours in some cases were overpowering or with too much salt. Good quality ingredients but without flair. Service was not attentive.
Had a really disappointing evening in Hispania. The food is overpriced and not tasty. I ordered prawns and they brought it in boiling oil. There were 5 small prawns sadly lying in the boiling oil bowl. I mean what is this? Basically it looks like a joke, when you are sitting there hungry and you supposed to take one prawn on the fork and take it out and wait before eating. And you pay 19£ for 5 prawns and they are not even tasty. So basically paid a fortune and burned my mouth. What an exquisite taste. Waiters are so attentive that it was annoying. Me and my partner couldn’t even have conversation because they were literally with us all the time. My partner moved a fork and the waiter came in a second to put it back. Like why? It is a fork, and he is eating so why do you need to move it? I felt really uncomfortable. Probably should have invited the waiter to sit with us so he can move the cutlery more efficiently. I mean the place looks nice, the atmosphere is great, but you don’t want to spend your time and money for this. And also we don’t drink alcohol and there was nothing non-alcoholic on the menu. Asked for tea, I don’t want to know how much it costs, good that my partner paid.
Good service, amazing atmosphere, but the food isn't worth the price.
Interior. Service. Food . In that order . Beautiful ambiance and decor . Very relaxing and stylistic environment. Staff are authenticity Spanish, impeccable and incredibly friendly. However , the food is limited in diversity and presentation is overall mediocre. Certainly doesn’t command the price i.e. 1 main & 3 small tapas dishes for £85
Disappointing. Went here on a Wednesday and restaurant teeming with hungry diners. Service was painfully low - no criticism to the waiters who seriously avoided eye contact because they were so busy - but place was massively understaffed and we waited an age to get our orders in. Vibes awful as full of city advisers in gilets (admittedly including my table). I and another guest ordered turbot. It was seared on the outside and then completely raw on this inside so I sent it back to the kitchen. The waiter returned it and said ‘chef said this is how turbot is supposed to be cooked’ and went on to explain to me how the fish on my plate which was practically able to swim back into the sea was how it is supposed to be. We listened bemusedly and didn’t bother arguing because place was so understaffed I’d have been there until 1am waiting for a manager. Left my plate untouched and waiter said noting when clearing the place. A colleague paid so I forgot to ask for it to be taken from the bill but any self respecting establishment would have done so at a best minimum. They had not. This is the third time I’ve eaten here (each for work-related events) and is only in business as far as I can tell because of its location and no one here pays with their own money.
Nice looking place, very attentive staff, food fine ... but paying £70 for a bottle of wine which retails at £18 and by extension must have cost them £9 or so ... sticks in the throat ... what a rip-off ... so thanks. You can fool, some of the people some of the time ... etc.
I need to be vocal regarding the experience that Hispania delivers to its clients. Going forward, Hispania will no longer be a recommendation of mine for Spanish cuisine in London. My wife returned home extremely embarrassed at the service this evening. She was accosted several times by staff during a critical business dinner over the time allotment for their table. The booking was due at 18:30 and it was unnecessary to repeatedly make this a point of what what is supposed to be a high end dining experience. Further to this, staff even tried to rush her and her clients out prior to 18:30 in an outrageously rude manner. This is not my first encounter of similar behavior at Hispania and I will no longer be turning a blind eye to staff “having a bad day”. My own business is international and when I dine without clearly European colleagues, the service is markedly different. Anyone seeking Spanish cuisine in London should steer clear unless you appreciate upturned noses for not looking European.
