This place was a pleasant surprise. I wish I had found it earlier! It is located in central London, not far from Paddington station, yet the price is very reasonable. The food is very authentic and versatile; they have dim sum, à la carte, Cantonese, Sichuan, and Beijing styles. The decor is elegant, modern, and very clean, with a nice small fish pond by the front entrance. It is a fantastic place for friends and family gatherings, business meals, or celebrations of all kinds. The service is amazing. The waitress is extremely kind to our children. I highly recommend the Cantonese-style roasted duck and pork belly. Everything else was good and up to standard. We spent £143.78 for 5 adults and 2 kids. Make sure you make a reservation on Google map.

A very good all-rounder amongst many competing authentic Cantonese dim sum restaurants in London. We ordered 6 dim sums and the classic fried flat rice noodles with beef dish. All turned out well, especially the seabass rolls, which remain the highlight 🌟. If we could be really picky, we would like the pastry of the prawn dumplings not to fall apart so easily, and the custard tarts' pastry to be more flaky. But these are minor points. We enjoyed the meal throughout. The tea (Iron Buddha) was also noticeably good. There's no bitter or astringent after taste. It's brewed several times and was still going strong. Having good tea actually inspired us to go for dessert! Service was quick and courteous. The ambience was good - high ceilings and sound absorbing materials installed - you can just talk to your fellow diner without having to shout like in a noisy pub. Food quality, presentation and portion size have hardly changed in three years --- I was surprised when I put old and new photos together.

Superb authentic Chinese food, a few steps from Paddington station. We had soup to start which was very good. The appetizer of Peking duck was possibly the best Peking duck I've ever eaten. It was tasty, fresh and the skin was delicious, crispy and very tasty. We had beef in black bean sauce (superb) and Cha sui pork (also superb) with fried noodles. The price was very good for the quality and the service was great. Staff are really friendly and very attentive.

Excellent service, lovely find away from China town. Authentic Chinese cuisine offering lots of chef specials for Chinese New Year. Staff were very attentive and offered a high standard of service. The food was very impressive, not oily, presented well, lobster noddles were offered to be portioned, the sea bass was a unique dish and would highly recommended. Looking forward to returning.

Stopped by Pearl Liang for Sunday dim sum—lucky for us, only a short wait since it was just two of us. Food came fast and every bite was delicious—properly made dim sum. Service is all about efficiency—quick, no-nonsense, get-things-done style. Don’t expect slow chats or lingering service, but that’s exactly what makes it great. A solid go-to for tasty, reasonably priced dim sum.

Really good roast duck. Other dishes also very good. Portions are on the smaller side, but all were tasty. Barbecue pork puffs are a favorite of the family's. We have been here a few times and will continue to return - especially for the duck and pork puffs! Also had Tsingtao beer and a Shanghai Sour 😋 Service can be a little slow, but you just have to be assertive in flagging them down

5 stars all around. Food was great good size portions to share. Very busy in the evenings always good to book ahead. Service was lovely and polite and made sure we had everything we needed. Loved the decor and the atmosphere very calm, peaceful. Good proximity from the offices- really recommend. :)

Dishes were decent portion, nicely presented and taste wise good standard. Seafood dishes were good quality. Staff were attentive to large party and some courses were even plated up, making guest eating experience easier, e.g., soup, rice, lobster noodles.

Peking duck is good although those had in Hong Kong served hot pancakes. But the duck skin was peeled in thin layer. Meat of duck was also soft. Good 👍🏻 Dim sums were decent and tasty.

It's been one of my top 5 favourite restaurants for years. Never had a bad experience here from the service to the food. It's a must try at least once. You will return.

One of if not the best Chinese restaurants in London, comparable to places I used to go to when I lived in Hong Kong, with some things being even better! Especially the scallops, and the fried custard buns

Man, the food was awesome. I loved every dish I ordered—they were all delicious. We placed our order and, in no more than 10 minutes, our food started coming out. The place was super clean, the bathroom was spotless, and the vibe was really nice.

Really good experience here. It got quite busy so I am glad I booked it in advance. I tend to love Royal China for the dumplings and was impressed by the quality of the food of this place. Plus the service is much nicer than Royal China. I ordered the pork cooked on Soya and Wine (delicious), the noodles Beef Ho Fun (beef was so tender!) and few dumplings. The dessert of the Sesame Rice Balls was super tasty too! I would come back again for sure!

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Our first time in PL, such a great experience. The ambiance was very welcoming and charming. Amazing food and service. Melesa was lovely, knowledgeable and helped us to pick out the dessert and it was great. Peace Best quality meets the affordable prices

Never been disappointed. Freshly made fantastic dim sum foods. We shared 4 dim sums and 1 noodle which were more than enough for 2 peoples lunch. Good service. There are plenty of tables but recomend to book a table in advance, as they are always full, eapecially on weekends.

We decided to come to this restaurant because of their location as it is very close by to Paddington station. Food is good, especially the Peking duck, the skin is super crispy and light! The roast pork also a hidden gem on the menu. Service is good and the decoration in the restaurant is lovely.

It was a good accidental find. Came walking along the canals and decided for chinese. Service was extremely efficient and friendly. Food was good, served fast and delicious. Portions is just ok, would expect a little more for the price. Overall good and will return.

Excellent dim sum, and the Jade menu includes a number of well selected samples of dishes including duck. Elegant and well balanced dishes. Not a soho restaurant, new and rather high class with nice staff and regular customers.

Beautifully interior-decorated restaurant and it looked popular for couples, groups and families with small children. Hence place for everyone. Everything is located on the ground floor. The food was delicious and generous portions. We were invited to celebrate a birthday party, hence don't know the cost of it. Staff is well trained and food is delivered fast. But for food and a beautiful interior with a Karp fish pool and lack of decorations, I advise you to visit it.

First time having dim sum there despite knowing it for some time... Royal China was my usual go to. They did not disappoint.. personally dislike to go into chinatown due to the crowd during the weekend... love it's location, food, service and spacious environment.. definitely kids and buggy friendly!

As a Cantonese, I'm very happy with the taste of the food here. However the portion size is very small comparing to most other restaurants. And the service is very slow unfortunately.

Authentic dim sum experience minus the trolleys. Felt like I was in Hong Kong again, the room was buzzing in cantonese. Good value for money for the quality and service. Everything was fresh and delicious.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Booked for 12:00pm on Sunday with family. Had dim sum, aromatic duck pancakes and some à la carte dishes. All were great, except the paper wrapped roasted pork ribs which was a bit dry. Staff were attentive and courteous when clearing the table and topping up the tea pot at the right time. Used to go here for work lunches 15 years ago when I worked in the area. Glad that it’s still going strong.

Pearl Liang is hands down my favourite Chinese restaurant. The roast duck is amazing, always perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and never dry. You can tell the food is made with care and high quality ingredients. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has great vibes – relaxed, warm, and a really nice atmosphere to eat in. I highly recommend Pearl Liang to anyone looking for amazing food and great service.

We often go to Pearl Liang for dim sum. We find the quality of the food to be very good and authentic and the service to be courteous and prompt. Its location in Paddington is more convenient for us than China Town and we find it easier to make reservations than some other places (and we don’t like to queue). Overall it’s our go to Chinese restaurant, especially for dim sum.

Exceptional Dim Sum Experience at Pearl Liang I recently dined at Pearl Liang in Paddington, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. Tucked away in the vibrant Sheldon Square area, this restaurant offers a perfect blend of authentic The dim sum selection is simply outstanding. The har gau (prawn dumplings) were plump and juicy, with that perfect translucent wrapper that melts in your mouth. The siu mai were packed with fresh pork and shrimp, topped with a touch of crab roe for extra indulgence. We also tried the char siu bao—fluffy buns filled with tender, smoky barbecue pork that had just the right balance of sweet and savory. For mains, the chilli king prawns were a highlight: succulent prawns in a spicy, aromatic sauce that packed a flavorful punch without overwhelming the palate. The sweet and sour chicken was elevated beyond the usual takeaway version—crispy, tangy, and made with high-quality ingredients. Service was impeccable; our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great recommendations without being pushy. Portions were generous, and everything arrived promptly and piping hot. It’s also worth noting that the restaurant caters well to dietary needs—we had a vegetarian in our group, and the options were plentiful and delicious. Overall, Pearl Liang is a gem in Paddington Central. Whether you’re grabbing lunch near the office or enjoying a special evening out, it’s worth every penny. I’ll definitely be back soon—highly recommended! 5 stars all the way.

Went there for a wedding banquet to have dinner. The suckling pig was amazing 10/10! Skin was perfectly crispy and the meat inside was juicy. The lobsters were ok not the best and the Cantonese fried chicken was also nice and other dishes were just ok. They do have a nice selection on their menu as well. The service was ok, friendly staff and the venue was big. It also had a nice interior, very spacious with a calm and relaxing vibe. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a nice venue with fine dining experience Chinese food or to have some amazing sucking pig.

Have celebrated a few birthday meals here and the food is good. Duck was very tasty! It’s a bit pricey due to the location but the ambience of the restaurant is great, as well as the decor. Staff is attentive and they can help service your bday cake as well.

When I walked through the doors, I did not think that the food will be amazing, but it is so amazing that I did not care if the atmosphere and service wasn't perfect. Would quite recommend for exeptional food.

Walking from Paddington station to Shelson Square only takes about 8 mins. This is a decent place for Chinese food. I was catching up with friend, forgot to take photo, again, they have all dim sums you can think of like BBQ bun, Siu mai etc.

I came here with family after meeting them at Paddington station. A quick hop and a skip around the back of the station and we were at the restaurant. The menu was extensive, the prices were reasonable considering we were in London, next to a train station. I made sure we ordered the roast duck and I’d recommend it to everyone if you can. It’s handled well, presented beautifully and tastes good. I’d come again if I’m in that part of town and have guests.

Been here few times and only recommended their dim sum menu, which probably my top 1 so far in London but I don’t recommend their dinner menu, my dinner experience wasn’t good. Recommend dim sum menu!

One of the most authentic Chinese dim sum places in London. Dim sum is above average and staff there are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend every dim sum lover to try this place!

Beautiful interior that feels authentic - went with Chinese friends who felt that the dim sum in particular was of good quality. Highlight for me was the BBQ pork buns, some of the best I’ve had! Service a little brusque, would still visit again though 👌🏾

We were delighted with our first lunch at Pearl Liang (our first Chinese outside Chinatown and Bayswater). The Fried Rice Noodles with Beef was so delicious we ordered it twice, it had a lot of wok hei. There was a good variety of dim sum on the menu and most were quite good, except for the Shanghai-style pot stickers which were not like what we were used to in our years living in Shanghai. The desserts were nice too and the service was Cantonese, efficient and friendly.

Delicious. Tried the lobster noodle and peking duck. The pancake for Peking duck was too thick though.

Food is quite good quality but portion sizes are really stingy and small. 6 of us ordered the set menu which was £55 and duck and fish and prawns were very small potions for 6 adults, see photos. The food is no doubt quite nice but would have appreciated bigger portions for that price. There was also a wedding going on so service was not as attentive as it should be if paying premium prices

A modern an nicely decorated restaurant. With sections for private party groups. Visited day before Chinese new year so was extremely popular. We hadn't made a reservation but we were accommodated. Due to expectations of being busy there was only a set menu available which was quite limited for choice. We ordered four dishes between the two of us. Decent size portions. However I would not say any of it was of a great standard taste wise . The roast duck was served cold and very fatty. The spring rolls tasted like they contained sausage meat. The cocktails looked good tho.

Came here for our Chinese New Year Dinner. The Lou Hei was pre-mixed so didn't get a chance to do it properly, and it wasn't authentic - ended up tasting like a poorly made salad for my hamster. The taste of the dishes were only average, and really small portions for the price, it's really nothing I can't do at home with some soya sauce with a wok. Was expecting a good meal in London as we normally do, but maybe this restaurant was a wrong choice. I would avoid this restaurant if you want an authentic Chinese new year dinner experience.

We waited quite a long time to order our food, and not all our food came out together. There didn't seem to be much apology when we asked for some of the dishes we'd ordered. The quality of the food wasn't what I'd expected, and I didn't finish my food. Noone came to check whether we were satisfied with the food. The drinks were nice, which was a positive. On the whole, I unfortunately wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

On New Year’s Eve, my partner, our four-year-old daughter, and I arrived at the restaurant hoping for a special evening. Unfortunately, the experience began on a disappointing note and never really improved. The hostess walked past us several times without acknowledging our arrival, which felt strange and dismissive. A few minutes later, other guests arrived and were immediately greeted and seated, despite us having been waiting first. When she finally addressed us, her tone was irritated and unwelcoming, asking whether we had booked last minute. We had made a reservation through The Fork, and if availability is shown on the system, I don’t see why that should be an issue. Her attitude made us feel unwelcome to the point that my partner began looking up alternative places to eat — not what you expect when visiting a restaurant with such a good reputation. We were then offered a table in a separate area, away from the main dining space. The seating consisted of block-style stools with no back support, which was completely unsuitable for me as someone with a disability, and also impractical for a four-year-old child. When I politely explained this, the hostess smirked and said she would “change the chairs,” but her manner remained rude and impatient. We were close to leaving, but after walking 25 minutes in the cold and with few nearby options open, we decided to stay. When we were finally moved, we were surprised to see plenty of available tables in the main dining area — contradicting what we had been told earlier. Adding to the disappointment, despite it being New Year’s Eve, there was no music playing and no sense of atmosphere or celebration at all. The lack of ambience made the evening feel flat and forgettable, which was such a missed opportunity. It’s a real shame, because the dim sum itself was very nice. However, the service, attitude, and overall lack of atmosphere completely overshadowed the food. A small amount of kindness or basic professionalism from the hostess could have changed the entire evening. Sadly, this is not the level of service I would expect, particularly from a hostess. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend others bother either.
