Roe Seafood is highly rated for its delicious seafood, lively atmosphere, and friendly service. Many reviewers rave about the fish and chips, oysters, and scallops. Some find it pricey, and service can be slow at times.

Delicious sea food at an affordable price. Had their lobster 🦞 roll exquisite and their fish and chips yummy along with their ceviche. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous they really know how to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. I had my small dog with me and they sat us in the patio and were super nice to her brought her a water bowl and offered a treat. I'm definitely coming back.
I have been wanting to try the 12 oysters and bottle of wine for $35. Host was sweet, gorgeous seating and bar area. Our server Gabriel was amazing.. our party of 4 had way too many questions and he never felt any of us feel dismissed or rushed. The food was great and their HH menu offers small delicious food.
My second visit to Roe Restaurant for breakfast/brunch was nothing short of exceptional, solidifying it as a standout dining destination in Long Beach. Initially discovering Roe after another restaurant turned us away for having our dog, we were delighted to find their pet-friendly outdoor patio, which welcomes furry companions with open arms. The interior is equally impressive, adorned with charming trees and ambient lighting that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless. We were promptly seated, and our server, Justin, provided impeccable service that elevated our meal. His friendly demeanor, attentiveness, and knowledge of the menu made every interaction a pleasure. Starting with the house Bloody Mary, garnished with a shrimp, bacon, and green olive, I was immediately impressed by its bold flavors—a must-try for any cocktail enthusiast. The small seafood tower was a delightful surprise, featuring fresh raw scallops that were a first for me and absolutely delectable. For my main course, I ventured out of my comfort zone with the Migas seafood scramble. The concept of seafood and eggs initially seemed unconventional, but this dish was a revelation. Perfectly executed, it ranks among the most memorable breakfast dishes I’ve ever had. The accompanying green salsa was a highlight—vibrant, perfectly spiced, and bursting with flavor, it’s easily one of the best salsas I’ve tasted. The kids enjoyed the French toast, which was equally outstanding and a hit with the whole family. Roe Restaurant consistently delivers an exceptional dining experience, from its pet-friendly accommodations and stunning ambiance to its innovative menu and top-notch service. Justin’s stellar service during both of our visits deserves special recognition. I wholeheartedly recommend Roe to anyone seeking a remarkable brunch spot in Long Beach—it’s a true gem!
Our monthly date night turned into a spontaneous food binge. After biking off the beach to the main street to find some food, we conveniently stopped right in front of Roe. We opted for their more casual takeout service, their market side. Shared their Blackened Mahi Sandwich, which came with kennebec fries with their Roe Sauce ($20) - such an amazing sandwich! Fish was cooked perfectly, the ciabatta soaked up as much of the sauces as it could, fries were out of this world with the additional sauce on the side to make all your taste buds work. The food was superb, and I can’t wait to try more! Service, on the other hand, was cold, hoping for a warmer welcome on the other side of this eatery.
The food here is outstanding, with amazing attention to detail in every plate, making each dish both beautiful and delicious. Their wine selection is excellent, and I highly recommend the tasting combo, which includes five well-curated pours that pair perfectly with the food. Whether dining solo or as a couple, I’ve had a great experience every time I visit Long Beach. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, making it a fantastic spot for a memorable meal. Definitely a go-to for seafood lovers!
Ate at the fish market! Unbelievable taste and freshness. Calamari were soft and tender on the inside, shrimps were great and the best fish n chips I've had in the US
Roe Seafood on 2nd St must be one of the most underrated restaurants in Long Beach. We enjoyed the high-quality offerings at this place. Enjoyed the lively vibes, and atmosphere. The servers are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was not crowded or loud considering it is 2nd street. The prices are reasonable.
The food was delicious! We had oysters – 10/10, the seafood platter with calamari, fish and chips, and popcorn shrimp – 10/10. Everything was absolutely delicious!
Try the buttermilk biscuits, amazing. Food is absolutely fire.
We just spent a week in Long Beach and we had the opportunity to dine here with our Son who lives there. We went to brunch because of recommendations from family and the availability of outdoor dining. (My wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment, so outdoor dining or delivery are our only options). We were blessed with beautiful weather. Our wait staff Mary took excellent care of us. Our coffee mugs and water glasses were kept full. All of the staff were very attentive. All four of us ordered something different and every single dish was amazing! We highly recommend this restaurant and we will definitely be back on our next trip to So. Cal.

Excellent seafood. I had the scallops and they were simply divine. Maybe because I haven't had scallops in a while, or perhaps because they paired so well with the mushrooms. The place is a bit pricy, but it's definitely a great spot to bring friends for seafood on 2nd street.
A beautiful place with excellent service and delicious food. The toilets deserve special attention. Clean, spacious and new. If you are a mother, then probably the first thing you look for anywhere is a toilet:)))) The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant and conducive to a good time. The food is wonderful, the beer is delicious. We came to the library nearby, but came for the smell of delicious food, stayed and did not regret it.

54-year-old from Utah. First time to Long Beach. The BEST Fish and Chips my wife and I have ever had. We try fish and chips wherever possible. Perfectly Cooked fish. My wife loved the "Roe" sauce that came with it. Slightly spicy but an amazing taste. Although a little pricy, it was worth it. Ordered a Diet Coke. Came in an 8oz-ish bottle. Surprising, but one of the best Diet Coke we've ever had. Worth the visit.

Atmosphere is awesome. All the staff were extremely friendly and professional. Was their for drinks. Both the margarita and bourbon old fashion were outstanding. They have live jazz on Wednesdays (need to make reservations). Parking is tight (it's Belmont Shore!).
Came here on a short trip, be aware that most menu prices have gone up since the most recent photos. It took a while to get served, although the hostess was kind enough to refill our waters and our orders were perfect. The food is a bit pricey, however tastes great & the sauces are amazing! Particularly the spicy steamer had a delicious sauce, more bread to enjoy it would have been lovely. My fish was perfectly cooked and tasted great, and the cocktails were good but very expensive for something without much presentation. It was strong, which I can't complain about, but nearly $20 for a basic cocktail seems a bit much. The area around was nice and vibrant at night, overall I enjoyed it however would have picked something else if I knew the more recent prices.
Food was ok. I had the ceviche, scallops, and calamari fries. The scallops were amazing, the ceviche was fine but seemed to lack creativity. They slapped on cocktail sauce to the ceviche to give it flavor. The Calamari fries were especially disappointing. I expected thick cut strips of calamari. These were the equivalent of shoe stringfries that were unfortunately overcooked. Might try again in the future.
The food here was pretty good. Had the poke ceviche, clam chowder & mini crab croquettes for starters, then ordered the sea bass & clam pasta for mains & even had ti-roe-misu for dessert. Husband & I enjoyed everything except the clam pasta, however since we didn’t eat it our server was gracious enough to take it off. Definitely will be back & 10/10 recommend.
The food was good but it was not great. I felt the seafood could be more fresh and the food could have had better flavors. But maybe it's because I came during happy hour and got things off the happy hour menu. The service was really good though. I'm going to come back and try some more things. Maybe I'll raise the score.

Went for dinner. The food was good. The kid’s meal portion are huge so a big plus. My son appreciated his fish nuggets. The size between that and the adults was not a big size difference. Service to get the food was slightly slower than I would have liked. Server was nice and great mocktails!
We approached the entrance and were immediately struck by its stylish appearance. The hostess greeted us with a warm smile, and we mentioned that it was our first visit to the restaurant. She then seated us at a table near the entrance of the kitchen. The weather was lovely, and we inquired about sitting on the patio. Unfortunately, she informed us that they were setting up for a private party and couldn't accommodate our request. While the rest of our experience was efficient and the waitress always had a smile, the overall service felt a bit cold. Despite this, I have to talk about the food. I opted for the Seabass, and it was cooked to near perfection with wonderful flavors. If only the service had been friendlier, I would definitely make this dish a regular choice.

I live nearby and actually often do takeout. I may continue to do that after the service we got tonight from our server Danny who did a great job of ignoring us, made multiple trips to other tables after clearing our plates, forcing us to wave him down for the bill after what felt like 15 min. Thur evening was not that busy. Then he had the nerve to point at the phone screen, and tell us to choose one of the (3) tip percentages on Apple pay top row, with a starting amount of 20% and hovered while we did it. Yuck. Please do better.
We came in on Valentine’s Day . We found the restaurant on Google thought it would be nice we didn’t know it was dog friendly until we saw a dog okay the dog was well behaved no problem there . We ordered the seafood tower that was ok . We also ordered the clam chowder which was super thick like a lot of flower or something and we also got an order of fries those were good . They was like homemade fries . We also had 2 lemon drops . So here is the problem Danny R was our waiter he only came to our table to drop the food off couldn’t get his attention for salt . So we get the bill it was $169.66 we check the bill and he charged us $26.00 in gratuity it was only 2 of us dining no signs saying anything about gratuity added automatically. We will never ever ever come back here and if you choose to come here watch out for Danny R the gratuity theif .
Mashed potatoes tasted like it came from a box. Calamari wasnt great, clam chowder was okay but just okay. Nothing here was worth the price or flavorful

Food was good. Athmosphere great. We had a large party but they could not split a check. We had had to add up each person orders and calculated their portion; including tip and taxes The waiter could have split the check for us and make it easy.
⭐ 1 out of 5 – Very Disappointing Experience I rarely leave bad reviews, but our experience at Roe was disappointing enough that I felt compelled to share. We had to send back the braised pork dish—it smelled off and tasted like old meat. Definitely not something you'd expect to be served at a restaurant. The filet was just okay, but the plate was completely overwhelmed with French fries. It would've been nice to have a proper side of vegetables or something more balanced. The "blackened cod" wasn't even blackened—it was bland and underwhelming. Food aside, the service was equally poor. Our waiter took so long to even approach our table that the hostess had to come over to take our order. It also took nearly 10 minutes just to check out, which was frustrating. Overall, this was a letdown from both a food and service standpoint. There are too many great dining options out there to waste your time or money here. Would not recommend.
