An old school traditional Italian restaurant where you can tell every piece of gnocchi was made by hand. Incredible find in the hood. Very hospitable staff (especially when we showed up with a baby in a bassinet and had to take up extra space). Would recommend the octopus starter, chicken marsala (so flavourful!) and gnocchi.
There’s no other place like it in New York City. Totally authentic. Completely genuine. Exceptional all around.
Came here for Valentine’s Day and it was an all around great experience! The food was fabulous. Highly recommend getting the calamari and the chicken parm (and the tiramisu if you have room). We will most definitely be returning soon!
This place is a must spot for great Italian. Eating here is like eating at an Italian family home. Food is excellent, service is great and ambiance is very NY Italian. I love going here and even travel from Suffolk to grab dinner. Highly recommend!
My family and I have been dining here for decades. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the food is excellent.
This place is one of the best Italian restaurants I've ever been too. The food is excellent. The service is fantastic. They truly treat you like family. I highly recommend this place.
We had a wonderful dinner experience here for my boyfriend’s company dinner. This place has a cozy, authentic Italian feel. The octopus and asparagus appetizer was tasty, and so were both the calamari and antipasto. We ordered a few homemade pasta dishes + the veal milanese — cooked to perfection. My favorite part: dessert. That Tartufo was incredible and the lemon sorbet served in a real lemon like they do in Capri — also tasted just as good. The food was all around delicious, fresh and we didn’t feel heavy or crappy afterwards. Everyone was also very pleased with the wine selection. I am very picky with my wine, and I dislike most, but their Pinot Grigio was one of my favorites ever. Also very fairly priced! Aside from the wonderful atmosphere, this is a family-owned business that’s been around for generations. Our waiter, Vincent, was terrific — sweet, attentive and personable. His dad, Anthony, is the sweetest, and Nonna’s in the back cooking the dishes — you can’t get a better vibe than this place. It felt like home. I cannot wait to go back.
Held our company holiday dinner here. So glad we did. Ive been a resident in the area for 10 years and regret not dining here sooner. True family owned homey nostalgia italian restaurant. Our server Vincent was excellent and we had an amazing experience. If youre in the area make sure to do dinner here.
Have been living in LIC for 5 years now and just went here for the first time and I regret not ever going in the past. An old school Italian hidden gem with good food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful service. Ask to be sat in Brendan’s section! I Haven’t had a wonderful server in quite some time in other restaurants, and I do feel that really enhances the experience at a restaurant.
Had dinner here for the first time, and I was blown away! Such a classic, romantic vibe with delicious food and exceptional service. The veal parm came with a side with pasta with an incredible pomodoro sauce, and the linguine was among the best I’ve ever had. Our waiters were super friendly and gave great recommendations for wine and entrees. Can’t wait to come back!
I loveee the vibes here❤️ so classy and homey and traditional. Such wonderful and attentive service from staff!! I love all the decor and friendly people made it feel cozy . The food was overall yummy, I especially enjoyed the octopus, baked clam, and the lemon sorbet. My Shirley temple was sooo cute with three cherries 🍒🥰 I ordered the gnocchi and I feel like the sauce was missing something like garlic or salt or idk . It was like runny and kinda sweet which surprised me . lol I still ate it tho ❤️ also the cheesecake was on the fluffier and sweeter side, less cheese more cake I felt like but still so good with a cappuccino. everything was pretty good overall 8/10 🌸🌈
Felt like I was at a family members house for dinner. This place is deceptively spacious. There are three dining rooms and a front bar area. We were seated in the 2nd dining room and greeted with menus which were single page which I like because it usually means everything on there will be good. Def get the calamari. The red sauce it comes w is poppin. I could live w/o the stuffed mushrooms next time. The veal parm was quality. The manicotti was better than the lasagna. Stay for the desert. I’m getting tiramisu for take out on the regular now and it was like $8. Thanks manducatis. I’ll be back for sure
We had the pleasure of dining at this family-run Italian restaurant in LIC, and let me tell you, it’s definitely worth the visit! We had the Eggplant Rolletini to start with, then for our main dishes, I had the spaghetti carbonara, and my boyfriend had the chicken alla parmigiana (not pictured: a side of penne pasta that comes with the chicken). For dessert, we had the vanilla and chocolate tartufo. Everything was delicious, authentic cuisine. After chatting with Anthony, the owner and our waiter that night, we found out that his 81-year-old mother is the chef! How amazing is that! Can’t wait to go back to the Cerbone Family’s restaurant for another homemade Italian meal.
Ida and Vincenzo, the owners are just adorable. I feel like being around my nonni when i’m with them. Their son Anthony who also runs the business is such a happy, nice and attentive person. I went to Manducatis yesterday to interview the owners for my Blog and YouTube channel and had a chance to try Ida’s amazing food. Melanzane were very delicious and spinach tagliatelle with fresh chopped tomato as well. Their wine list is big, they have a great selection of both white and red (some red wines are dated back to end of 1800) That place is just a gem and one of the best kept secret of LIC, Queens. Can’t wait to visit them again soon!!!
Wonderful food and people, friendly engaging owner and staff,, We sat and had a carafe of wine while waiting for our meals which we were taking home to share with family. We learned the history of the restaurant, sixty years in business,forty-four in the same site. Homemade pasta and sauces an at attractive prices. We will be back whenever we visit the city!
It’s a beautiful restaurant with lots of tables. They are nicely spaced so you don’t feel like you sitting on top of other people. Everything was great from nice man welcoming us when we walked in to great service and delicious food. We had few appetizers and gnocchi, shrimp and peas pasta and few specials. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. We also had wine and delicious dessert. I would definitely go back.
I recommend the octopus heavily. Get one and then when you're stunned get a second. From the pastas the lasagna has good meatiness and the manicotti balances cheese and pasta and red sauce well. For those and for the tremendous octopus they deserve four stars. To ding them a little bit, because I've made these dishes too, the Bolognese is too thin and not deep in flavor. I think it's missing salt and maybe wine and maybe time. The gnocchi pasta is great but the tomato sauce used does not stick. Still, go. Go go go. Get the octopus and the lasagna.
The place looks and feels like an old fashioned Italian restaurant (which is a great thing). We shared the Baked Clams and the Sauteed Mussels. Both were very good starters. I had the Chicken alla Parmigiana for my entree and I thought it was excellent. For dessert, we shared the Homemade Tiramisù (since they only had one slice left). It was one of the best tiramisu that I've had in a long time. Service was very good. The owner, Ida, walked by and chatted with us for a few minutes. Her son was our waiter and he was very friendly. Everyone in our group agreed that the restaurant was fantastic!
The foods were all very underwhelming, the lasagna noodle was way too soft and sauce watery. Also tried the Spaghetti Carbonara which tastes very porky and the daily special (spaghetti with tomato and asparagus) had no taste at all (we suspect they did not add salt). The linguine with white wine clam sauce was probably the best one but still lacked layers in its flavor.
