Great family style dinner with a large group. Good selection of wines. Not really busy for a weekday dinner. Definitely recommended for a local LIC flavor

The BEST Italian restaurant in Queens. Historical, authentic, family-run, price friendly. Would not go anywhere else for chicken parmesan and capellini. You shouldn’t either.

Great authentic Italian food. I have been going to this restaurant over the last 5 years and it never disappoints. When visiting Ling Island City, make it a point to eat at this amazing family-owned restaurant - you won’t be disappointed either.

We had a party of 18 for my son's 40th birthday. They served us family style with wonderful food. We had asked for quick service because we had five young children with us who weren't going to last long and they were incredible

I was looking forward for so long to try this place, I heard so many great things And I can't wait to come back, Close knit family make you feel right at home, nothing fancy from the outside, But everything we ordered was excellent, Loved the linguini with white clam sauce, And the bolognese is exceptional.

Amazing restaurant. Been there a few times and am always impressed. Food is made to order though so don't expect it to be a short dinner, but completely worth it.

Great staff, makes you feel like family, and like you’re dining at home with them. Wine list is very long but the staff is very knowledgeable so don’t be afraid to ask. Chicken parm is to die for.

Best restaurant in the neighborhood! Great homemade pasta and Italian dishes, cozy but spacious environment and warm staff. Everything you want in a neighborhood favorite.

This is old school American Italian cooking at its finest. We had the baked clams, gnocchi in tomato sauce, and seafood special in white sauce over linguini. If you were raised on Italian food in Queens and miss the restaurants of yore this is the place to come.

When a restaurant makes me feel like I’ve been transported to somewhere else, I immediately fall in love. Not only was the atmosphere at Manducatis phenomenally old-school, the food and service is impeccable. Best Spaghetti Carbonara I’ve ever had. Don’t walk, run here and enjoy!!

We came last night with a party of 15 and had the entire back room of the restaurant. First time at Manducatis and discovered how massive this place is. Very authentic, traditional Italian feel. Everyone was genuinely kind from making reservations to having them staying late for us to finish our meal. The service was warm, hospitable and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. Portions are generous and the flavors are so rich and full made with fresh ingredients and aromatic olive oil. Desserts were also superb. Everyone was so pleased with their food. I will definitely come back. What a wonderful piece of true LIC history dining at Manducatis on Jackson Ave.

5 stars definitely does not give this place justice! It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere. I am in Long Island city for work and by far this restaurant was the best hands down. The owner was so friendly and was talking to us through out our meal and made us feel like we were at home. I only wish I could give more gratitude for a place like this. Will most definitely be going back! I fully recommend this place to anyone! Oh and the food was fantastic including the coconut custard pie!!!!

Manducatis is a lovely hidden gem in Long Island City, this is a great spot for family-run homemade Italian food! The service is excellent, the atmosphere is really cozy, and the food is amazing! From the antipasti (try the Baked Clams) to the pasta mains (our group tried & loved the Eggplant Parmigiana, Linguine with Clam Sauce, Shrimp & Peas over Capellini, Shrimp Scampi, and Stuffed Shells), you cannot go wrong. I highly recommend this spot, Manducatis does not disappoint!

Been honestly going to this wonderful family establishment for over 40 years. How it keeps getting better is remarkable. Chef Ida is a once in a lifetime treasure who doesn't receive the admiration she so richly deserves. I too have own restaurants my entire life and I know the dedication that is necessary to sustain this great of a restaurant for all these years. Congrats to the entire Manducatis staff!

I've been coming to Manducatis for over 12 years, and its always been a fantastic experience! It's a gem of Long Island City. Parking can be slightly challenging, but it's worth the trouble. I drive from the middle of Long Island to only have dinner here, it's worth the effort! Highly recommend. Favorite dish is Shrimp Marinara over linguini. Favorite appetizer is Octopus & calamari.

Old school charm hidden gem. Incredibly good food with great service that caters to your needs. Even were able to make delicious corn pasta for someone with Celiac's. Homey and intimate but also spacious and inviting. Will definitely be a regular.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant, the bread is freshly baked served with real butter. I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and for the main course, scallops in pasta paired with Pinot Nior and I ate in slow motion to savor every bite. The tiramisu is the best I’ve ever had, served with a few strawberries and a smidge of whipped cream... normally I detest whipped cream but this cream was positively delicious I should have asked if it was homemade. The ambiance is so cozy. There’s a fireplace a real one not gas or imitation and the lights are dim and warm. Music is the perfect volume, just loud enough to hear but not deafening as many modern places do these days. Service is outstanding, very attentive and sharp. This restaurant is suitable for any occasion really, it’s stylish yet still casual. Could meet family or an old friend or treat a hot date. Will recommend to all my friends and come back. Update: the fettuccini Bolognese is to DIE FOR! The kitchen makes the noodles fresh...if you’ve never had fresh middles you should e no idea what you’re missing, you’ll never go back to the boxed kind. My other friend adored it as well, he had veal with mushrooms and enjoyed every bite.

We had our first dinner here in a number of years- and realised what we were missing! The veal chop and the grilled octopus appetiser were particularly amazing. Fantastic food and great service. Definitely won't wait too long for the next visit!

Got take out first weekend they were open this year. It was amazing! I can't believe I didn't find this place until now..we got the cold seafood platter, manicotti, spaghetti with meatballs, fettuccine Bolognese, pasta with garlic/anchovies. And biscotti. It was a feast! The pastas were cooked perfectly...the meatballs were tender. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Planning our next trip there already.

This place is almost a hidden gem even though it's been in this area for so long. Something so classic has gotten lost in the ever growing jungle of glass buildings and hip restaurants. I don't know if people forgot about this place but the internet is not giving it enough credit. Maybe they need to spruce up their decor and make it more inviting, maybe they need to create more of an online presence, whatever the case might be. Amazing, classic Italian food with fast service. Don't expect the staff to treat you like your local hipster bartender, but they'll treat you like one of the family.

Vintage , Classic, And just real Italian. Always greeted at the door by the dad. Then walked right into the back into this lovely scenery. The drapes over the windows who you can't really focus on the outside. The service is on believeable. Tony is great and He knows his wines very well. The specials are still a bit the same but they are so good that a good recipe never needs to change. Service is at a good pace for you to enjoy your meal, Enjoy the wine, Enjoy just about Everything. this is a must go to place

Years ago when Anthony’s father was still alive I used to come here Anthony now runs it Thank god Anyhony is back after a long illness and is running the place Between himself and his son they run one of the best Italian Resteraunts in Queens! Manducatis was founded Christmas Day in 1977 by Vincenzo and Ida Cerbone. This is old world Italian. Smells like my Gradma Mary's apartment in Rego Park. Awesome. Anthony has an amazing wine cellar. Note photo of Ida below. Daughter has a restaurant a couple of blocks away.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years, I must say the food is excellent. It's not your trendy Italian restaurant du jour, it's more than that. The staff makes you feel you are part of the family. They have an extraordinary well curated wine list. Their pastas are always fresh and well executed. I personally like the calamari salad, it's my favorite, it's always fresh and tasty. Their eggplant rolletini is to die for, and their Veil radicchio (for those in the known) is also exquisite.

Excellent food, kind and friendly service, family owned and run. They are very accommodating, clean, great for business lunch, romantic dinner or the back room for private parties. Bar is stocked. Known them for years and they never disappoint. The lasagna is amazing.

Best chicken parmigiana hands down. Authentic Italian food from the old country. Real red sauce. This is worth a trip. Or if you live in the area don't miss out. Update: Still the best chicken parmigiana and love the chicken marsala too!! The restaurant is cozy in the winter with the big fireplace. It’s authentic Italian.

This is in effect our go-to family occasion/make a reason to go restaurant. Thank you Anthony and family for always providing a warm welcome, great service, and arguably the best Italian food in NYC. (And 5 star wine list!) Bless mama Ida and her culinary prowess and staying power. The atmosphere is a warm 1960’s time capsule and I hope it never changes!

This place is fantastic (Insert appropriate expletive inside fantastic). The moment you walk in from its corner entrance, you instantly feel you might have traveled back in time several decades, AND, if you let them, you actually will. Handwritten reservations? ✅ Years-long regulars arriving as you are? ✅ The first surprise is when they lead you from that front room to your table, through a series of well compartmentalized dining rooms, each with the same charm but own aesthetic. And the host is the owner, and probably your server, and will almost certainly give you the liberty to pick the best table for you. This does not happen (proactively) in NYC restaurants anymore. Nowhere. I regret not checking out the next room where a large group was clearly celebrating a birthday. As one of my dinner guests said (we were all first timers, late to the game apparently), "every minute I'm falling in love with this place more and more." Don't hesitate to follow the standard Italian structure here: get some antipasti, then get some pasta, then go for the meat and fish after that. The menu doesn't try too hard and excels at execution. Get the clams (use the lemon). Get some vegetables. Don't skip the Carbonara. One of our party was Tomato averse, but I will focus on those pastas next time. The veal chop, perfectly cooked. We also passed on some classics: Parm, Francese. Marsala, but I will not pass on those in the future. Place has been around since the 70s. So has some of the wine. The main list is all red, but there are some whites if you ask (white we brought, and corkage is beyond reasonable). The sommelier is well versed (as is the owner) and will almost certainly point out something you overlooked, even after choosing a real gem at an exceptional price point. Do not skip dessert, and don't be bothered that all are presented nearly identically with chocolate drizzle and puffs of almost gratuitous whipped cream. Cannolo unreal. Cheesecake 🔥. Coconut sorbet delicious and, unsuspectingly, with shreds of coconut inside. Don't walk. Run.

An old school traditional Italian restaurant where you can tell every piece of gnocchi was made by hand. Incredible find in the hood. Very hospitable staff (especially when we showed up with a baby in a bassinet and had to take up extra space). Would recommend the octopus starter, chicken marsala (so flavourful!) and gnocchi.

We had a wonderful dinner experience here for my boyfriend’s company dinner. This place has a cozy, authentic Italian feel. The octopus and asparagus appetizer was tasty, and so were both the calamari and antipasto. We ordered a few homemade pasta dishes + the veal milanese — cooked to perfection. My favorite part: dessert. That Tartufo was incredible and the lemon sorbet served in a real lemon like they do in Capri — also tasted just as good. The food was all around delicious, fresh and we didn’t feel heavy or crappy afterwards. Everyone was also very pleased with the wine selection. I am very picky with my wine, and I dislike most, but their Pinot Grigio was one of my favorites ever. Also very fairly priced! Aside from the wonderful atmosphere, this is a family-owned business that’s been around for generations. Our waiter, Vincent, was terrific — sweet, attentive and personable. His dad, Anthony, is the sweetest, and Nonna’s in the back cooking the dishes — you can’t get a better vibe than this place. It felt like home. I cannot wait to go back.

Have been living in LIC for 5 years now and just went here for the first time and I regret not ever going in the past. An old school Italian hidden gem with good food, nice atmosphere, and wonderful service. Ask to be sat in Brendan’s section! I Haven’t had a wonderful server in quite some time in other restaurants, and I do feel that really enhances the experience at a restaurant.

Had dinner here for the first time, and I was blown away! Such a classic, romantic vibe with delicious food and exceptional service. The veal parm came with a side with pasta with an incredible pomodoro sauce, and the linguine was among the best I’ve ever had. Our waiters were super friendly and gave great recommendations for wine and entrees. Can’t wait to come back!

I loveee the vibes here❤️ so classy and homey and traditional. Such wonderful and attentive service from staff!! I love all the decor and friendly people made it feel cozy . The food was overall yummy, I especially enjoyed the octopus, baked clam, and the lemon sorbet. My Shirley temple was sooo cute with three cherries 🍒🥰 I ordered the gnocchi and I feel like the sauce was missing something like garlic or salt or idk . It was like runny and kinda sweet which surprised me . lol I still ate it tho ❤️ also the cheesecake was on the fluffier and sweeter side, less cheese more cake I felt like but still so good with a cappuccino. everything was pretty good overall 8/10 🌸🌈

Felt like I was at a family members house for dinner. This place is deceptively spacious. There are three dining rooms and a front bar area. We were seated in the 2nd dining room and greeted with menus which were single page which I like because it usually means everything on there will be good. Def get the calamari. The red sauce it comes w is poppin. I could live w/o the stuffed mushrooms next time. The veal parm was quality. The manicotti was better than the lasagna. Stay for the desert. I’m getting tiramisu for take out on the regular now and it was like $8. Thanks manducatis. I’ll be back for sure

We had the pleasure of dining at this family-run Italian restaurant in LIC, and let me tell you, it’s definitely worth the visit! We had the Eggplant Rolletini to start with, then for our main dishes, I had the spaghetti carbonara, and my boyfriend had the chicken alla parmigiana (not pictured: a side of penne pasta that comes with the chicken). For dessert, we had the vanilla and chocolate tartufo. Everything was delicious, authentic cuisine. After chatting with Anthony, the owner and our waiter that night, we found out that his 81-year-old mother is the chef! How amazing is that! Can’t wait to go back to the Cerbone Family’s restaurant for another homemade Italian meal.

Ida and Vincenzo, the owners are just adorable. I feel like being around my nonni when i’m with them. Their son Anthony who also runs the business is such a happy, nice and attentive person. I went to Manducatis yesterday to interview the owners for my Blog and YouTube channel and had a chance to try Ida’s amazing food. Melanzane were very delicious and spinach tagliatelle with fresh chopped tomato as well. Their wine list is big, they have a great selection of both white and red (some red wines are dated back to end of 1800) That place is just a gem and one of the best kept secret of LIC, Queens. Can’t wait to visit them again soon!!!

It’s a beautiful restaurant with lots of tables. They are nicely spaced so you don’t feel like you sitting on top of other people. Everything was great from nice man welcoming us when we walked in to great service and delicious food. We had few appetizers and gnocchi, shrimp and peas pasta and few specials. Everything was well prepared and tasted great. We also had wine and delicious dessert. I would definitely go back.

We had the steamed mussels with red and white sauce as an appetizer and everyone loved it. My son had the spaghetti with meatballs, and he really loved it. It can be a little critical. My daughter had the fried Calamari and she was a little critical, but my wife and I loved it. She said it was something you would get at City Island ( known for their seafood). My wife had the homemade spaghetti with Bolognese and I had the special of steak with mushrooms and radichio with home made spaghetti. We both loved it. We also ordered 2- Tiramisu's and a Italian cheesecake. They were absolutely delicious. I washed my Tiramisu with a double expresso with Sambuca, and it perfect. My wife and I also had 2 carafe's of Montepulciano de Abrusso. and it was tasty. You can order bottles of wine or glasses also. Ok, you may think the price is high. But you have to pay for quality. I would recommend this place if you have the money.

Came here for a New Year's Eve celebration (12/31/15). They have one every year, open to the public, and was only $125 per person. Which included open bar, cocktail hour, table seating w/ full dinner, and a DJ from 9-2am. This was my first year going for NYE and I must say I was NOT disappointed. NYE here was recommended by some friends of ours who attended previous years. We arrived promptly at 9, the workers and security were well organized, and we got inside in no time (I was concerned there would be a mob in front and take forever to get in, not the case). The facility itself was great, nicely decorated, well kept, and very clean. The employees were great... everyone from the wait staff to security was polite, very responsive, and respectful. Noone seemed unhappy to be working on NYE. The food was great, dinner included fish, chicken, and a meat (something for everyone). The drinks were made just right (shout out to AJ the bartender, making his specialty drink all night...the "AJ"). Overall I would definitely recommend this place to others, and I will be back celebrating another New Year with them... Happy Yelping :)

I actually haven't eaten a real meal here (yet). They do have a nice bakery area in the front where you can get sweets to go, which might be all I've done here. They weigh it out by the pound or you can do like I did and just get a few pieces to go. They also have gelato, which I want to go back and try.

I recently visited an Italian restaurant and overall, my experience was just okay. The food was decent but nothing exceptional. However, the atmosphere of the restaurant was cozy and intimate, which made for a pleasant dining experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. Although, I did encounter an issue with my bill. It was hand-written and they made a mistake on it, I wondered if it was done on purpose, but I think the staff may not have the digital billing system.

Maducati's was warm and comfortable. wait staff was pleasant and prompt. went with four friends. we were a little noisy and loud. the wait staff went about their business and jumped on our numerous requests. food was delicious, with the feeling of grandma's home cooking. portions were generous. I recommend this restaurant to all

Came here with a big group of coworkers. The dish that I had (a special of the night) was just a bit bland, but everyone else's pasta dish was delicious. Super big portions for the entree and the appetizers are great too! Service can be a bit odd, but didn't seem rude; just an old school Italian spot.

Great food! feeling like it’s more suitable as a place of celebration. The place has a deceiving entry — it’s huge inside. Overall food was great, but the whopping price tag that came with it made it a tougher sell for me. People seems to enjoy the place a lot tho!

We meant to try this place for quite a long time since we moved to LIC and this past weekend we finally had dinner here. We thought it's a small place when peeking thought the windows from the outside. However we were pleasantly surprised when the waiter led us through two rooms into the charming dining room, which has really nice ambiance with the exposed brick and stone wall. The service was absolutely attentive. We had the fried calamari for appetizer, it was lightly breaded and very tasty. We ordered our entrees (seafood pasta, and pork dish) from the special of the day. Big portion and delicious on the pasta, and the pork was tasty, tender and not dry. We really enjoyed the food and will definitely come back again.

Great Southern Italian spot! Everything is great - the only complaint is that the food came out way too fast that made us feel if they had been pre-made, and also the portion was smaller than other Italian restaurants in the area.

I recommend the octopus heavily. Get one and then when you're stunned get a second. From the pastas the lasagna has good meatiness and the manicotti balances cheese and pasta and red sauce well. For those and for the tremendous octopus they deserve four stars. To ding them a little bit, because I've made these dishes too, the Bolognese is too thin and not deep in flavor. I think it's missing salt and maybe wine and maybe time. The gnocchi pasta is great but the tomato sauce used does not stick. Still, go. Go go go. Get the octopus and the lasagna.

The place looks and feels like an old fashioned Italian restaurant (which is a great thing). We shared the Baked Clams and the Sauteed Mussels. Both were very good starters. I had the Chicken alla Parmigiana for my entree and I thought it was excellent. For dessert, we shared the Homemade Tiramisù (since they only had one slice left). It was one of the best tiramisu that I've had in a long time. Service was very good. The owner, Ida, walked by and chatted with us for a few minutes. Her son was our waiter and he was very friendly. Everyone in our group agreed that the restaurant was fantastic!

I wish I would have loved this place. The owner is a lovely man and the servers were very nice and hospitable. The venue itself is retro and I enjoyed the feeling of "old fashioned" Italian restaurant, the kind Billy Joel would have had in mind when he wrote his famous song. However, truth be told, the food was mediocre. The steamed mussels were okay. The baked clams were fine. The lettuce under the shrimp cocktail was not fresh. It was obviously cut a day or two beforehand by the browning around the edges of the lettuce. The lemon they served with it was completed dried out and the cocktail sauce was straight out of a jar and had not oomph of horseradish. Chicken Parmigiana entree was a little skimpy and that not so fresh taste and texture. A freshly fried chicken cutlet tastes freshly fried, its unmistakable. The tomato sauce was delicious. The lasagna was okay...The fish of the day was tile fish. We ordered it Livornese style which is one of my favorite ways to eat it and the Livornese sauce was good. We ate everything except for the few bones they missed from the belly part of the fillet. We enjoyed our time in this cozy restaurant. We spent $160 before tax and tip for the above mentioned items, a tartufo and tiramisu for dessert, 2 glasses of the house pinot grigio, a bottle of Pelligrino and two espresso's. I don't mind spending money on good quality food, not at all. I'll gladly pay and return for quality. The details are everything though.

Friendly wait staff...no wine/drink menu on the table. Not great portions. Ordered the shrimp scampi. $26 for 5 shrimp is a little expensive, even for LIC. Canoli for desert was really good but my coffee wasn't that hot.

The service was wonderful, the place is well known in the neighborhood. I guess my pasta lacked something. I should have asked for maybe a different sauce or something because it was bland. I hear the chicken Parm is excellent so next time I'll go I'll get that but sorry my pasta was not it.

Came here on a weeknight for dinner. Service was a bit grumpy in the beginning, but got better as the dinner went on. We ordered the baked clams, the pappardelle special, and monkfish. Baked clams was quite tasty, probably my fav of the night. The monkfish was topped with breadcrumbs and mushrooms. Flavour was good, fish was cooked well. The pappardelle was served with clams. There were lots of clams but the dish was very blend and the pasta texture wasn't very good. Would have probably tasted better if it was dried pasta than a housemade pappardelle.

Is the place open? Is it closed? Who knows. No host greets you so you wander the maze of rooms hoping to find someone in a bowtie who can orient you. Stuffed shells were the worst I've ever had - watery-thin sauce with overcooked noodles. We were treated to the sounds of a young girl's iPad because the restaurant doesn't pipe any muzak into the dining room. Disappointing.

I hate writing this review because I like a lot of things about this place but the prices they are asking for the quality they deliver is way off. At $23 to $26 a plate, the shrimp shouldn't be rubbery or have a hair in it and I just don't know where they get off selling a plate of bolognese pasta for that price. Would have made a lot more sense if it had been $17... about the going rate for a bolognese at some of the best places in the city. They should keep their old school charm but bring their prices down, otherwise I wouldn't return.

Food was not good: fried calamari with too much basic panco breadcrumbs, carbonara was spicy (??) and with cooked eggs / omelette style (?????) and mostly pancetta fat. Service was ok, nothing special (we actually had to ask to hear for the specials). Atmosphere is a bit gloomy when entering.

I was at this restaurant last Saturday and was very disappointed. My family arrived at 7 and the waitress disappeared, we had to keep calling her. She didn't take our appetizer order until an hour and a half later. We can an elderly man with us that was hungry when she arrived at our table he told her what appetizers he wanted and she was nasty towards him. Telling him " I DIDN'T EVEN TELL YOU THE SPECIALS", I let that nasty response from her go the first time. He was so polite even though we waited an hour and a half, he sat there and listen to her. Then we had to ask the runner to call the waitress over again since we haven't seen her like in another hour or so for water & round of drinks & to place our food order. She came over with the most nasty attitude again stating " I heard something asked for the server WHATS THE PROBLEM" I told her the problem is that we have been sitting here now for hours and we haven't received proper service and have to keep calling her. She starts giving us some a story about her personal life that I 'm here to celebrate Mother's Day with my family and enjoy my dinner not to have a bad time. She made this dinner the worst dinning experience I have ever had. We didn't even get our full order, we had dishes missing & the server didn't even know the wine list. I work in Hospitality & I was very angry and disappointed. We were there a total of 5 and a half hours.. NOT INTENTIONALLY BUT BECAUSE OF POOR SERVICE. I WOULD USUALLY WALK OUT BUT DIDN'T WANT TO RUIN MOTHER'S DAY MORE THAN WHAT THE WAITRESS HAVE ALREADY DONE.

The service was not much to rave about. We had to send back a dish twice and in the end you weren’t think they would have some kind of an apology, worst, the manager sits down at our table to chat and never said a word about the incident.

The foods were all very underwhelming, the lasagna noodle was way too soft and sauce watery. Also tried the Spaghetti Carbonara which tastes very porky and the daily special (spaghetti with tomato and asparagus) had no taste at all (we suspect they did not add salt). The linguine with white wine clam sauce was probably the best one but still lacked layers in its flavor.
