Yama Sushi

Wow. I honestly haven't seen a good sushi place to get this packed since we went to Japan! We purchased four fresh rolls for literally $36. Unheard of around here in Los Angeles. This place is absolutely delicious. I love the lemon roll and the salmon sushi. The California rolls are so giant and delicious, there's just so much sushi to choose from! This location gets really busy quickly and since they make the sushi rolls fresh, be prepared to either wait in line or wait in line behind the refrigerators as the sushi comes out. Parking is a little difficult, but it is free. There is a lot but we found parking on the neighborhood street. It's right next to chipotle. Honestly, I don't think we're gonna go back to Sugarfish ever... I think we found our new sushi spot

Incredible quality for the value! I don’t know what took me so long to check out this sushi market but it was so fun! Just enough snack and drink options to satisfy and a few trinkets if you’re looking for some Japanese’s home goods or a gift. The core of this market is their fresh fish. You can purchase by the pound or head to the fridges to pick from an assortment of fresh hand made rolls. There was an entire team in the back making sushi trays, bento boxes, and replenishing the grab and go fridge. Clearly a lot of craft and care goes into the food as each tray was uniform and the fish was very fresh. We grabbed a few rolls, some drinks, and sat at a table out front to enjoy the delicious bites. This is a great option for a grab and good sushi night. If you aren’t headed home right away or have a long drive, you can ask for ice at checkout to keep your food cold. We will definitely be stopping by Yama to feed our sushi cravings in the future.

There’s a reason this is rated one of the top places for sushi in the LA area. The place is very decorative . The sushi was great and the customer service was just as good. They really took pride in making sure that everyone’s leaves happy . If you want a place to grab quality sushi for a price, that is also good I highly recommend trying them out There is so many options to try from at this location Good work Five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

If you love sushi, this place will surely be your Jam! I walked in Yama and nearly lost my top because there were so many options! From Spam musubi, to sashimi, to karage chicken and various types of rollls- there is so many reasons to love this market!! But the true kicker was the prices, Everything was super inexpensive, especially compared to restaurants! I must note that even tho the prices were reasonable, there was no skip on flavor nor freshness! I must also note that even tho Yama has market in their name, this place can not be in no way, shape, or form be compared to Supermarket sushi! It’s seriously better than a lot of sushi that I’ve eaten at restaurants!! Honestly, I was on the fence about writing this review because I kinda wanted to gatekeep this spot for myself lol but what buisness doesn’t appreciate favorable review! They also have large order platters that are insanely excellent in price- especially for the quality! I’ve eaten plenty of sushi from high end, to NEVER AGAIN and I’m telling you Yama can easily hold their own!!

My kids love Yama, and we've visited many times. The fresh ingredients, reasonable prices, and attentive service are definitely highlights for us, we appreciate the convenience of grabbing takeout to enjoy at home. Today, I stopped by for takeout about half an hour before closing and was surprised to see quite a few customers still there.

There no words to describe my love for this place. Best sushi, best prices, freshest fish, kindest people. It’s my go to for sushi on the west side. Sometimes I go for lunch. Often I buy their platters for parties. Love that everything is grab and go. Also love that you can pick your sashimi pieces and have them sliced on the spot.

Yama is the best neighborhood spot for lunch! Sushi is fresh and delicious every day. I love the blue crab California roll but if they run out (which they do because they’re so busy because it’s so good!) then I get the other California roll with imitation crab, which is ALSO good! The vibes are excellent in here. There’s a wide array of sushi, nigiri and some gyoza. They also have a beautiful assortment of imported Japanese goods and fun drinks! I’ve never ordered at the counter, but you can do that too. Right at lunchtime it’s kind of hard to find a seat, but picking up sushi to go is a great idea. My brother and I love Yama!

Great spot for good, fresh, and not expensive sushi. The salmon they use is good, tasted fresh. I also liked California sushi, tasted amazing. I really enjoyed all of the food I got. The store itself is cute, seemed a bit overcrowded during my visit. The staff is friendly. I had a great experience. Overall, it is good sushi shop for a quick lunch.

Excellent local sushi market! My husband found this on TikTok and it did not disappoint. Reasonably priced too. We especially enjoyed the lemon roll and the sashimi was restaurant quality (we got salmon, salmon belly and tuna). The chicken katsu was also perfectly crispy and the sauce was delicious.

Freshest restaurant quality sashimi and sushi at a reasonable price in the U.S. Their sashimi is top notch. Highly recommend the Hamachi/yellowtail toro (so underrated), the scallops, and the squid/ika, but honestly any of the options won’t disappoint. Also a big fan of their tamago and their Takuan roll (which has fresh perilla leaves inside)! If you’re a big sashimi/sushi enjoyer and value quality, this place is perfect!

When I need great sushi, this is my go-to joint. The pieces of sushi are stuff full of ingredients and flavor. Many varieties to choose from, so even if you want a particular kind, it'll probably be there. And the most important part is that the sushi is fresh. It's absolutely delicious too! If you're looking for reasonably priced sushi that your taste buds will craze, this is your joint. Pick up to take home or enjoy it on the patio!

Great spot for fresh sushi and sashimi. Lots of options to choose from. Also has hot foods like fried chicken, cooked salmon, eel bowl, curry bowl, rice, miso soup. Also has cute home goods like chopsticks, saucers, stationary. Also sells Japanese snacks and drinks! Have come here multiple times and always 10/10. The store can get crowded at times. But they always restock the sushi. Parking can be hard to find when busy.

Yama is my favorite hole in the wall foodie spot in West LA. Introduced this haunt to multiple friends and they've all become frequent customers. Fish is fresh and fish market quality. They cut up your order at the counter and offer a rotating display of seafood. Be sure to pick up a salmon or Hamachi collar to pop in the oven later. The only place I get california rolls from, they are enormous and the sushi is the best value and quality for price you will find in LA. My favorite budget meal is getting the pokebowl or california roll and cut up sashimi at the counter.

Yama sushi marketplace is a great place for affordable and tasty sushi! Their chicken karage is also super tasty, especially when fresh! It has a sweet glaze that creates the perfect sweet/salty combo. There is a parking lot but spots are very limited, especially during peak lunch/dinner hours. The staff are very kind and are putting out new items pretty regularly. The fresh sashimi is also good! It's a great place to grab picnic items/takeout. The tables here are also quite limited but usually the turnover is quick. Definitely recommend!

Excellent quality fish at reasonable prices and awesome staff. The quality of the sashimi here is that of a high end sushi restaurant but the price is way way lower--I'm talking half or a quarter of what you'd pay in a restaurant. I usually get sashimi and take it home to eat with some high quality sushi rice. The staff is also really friendly and helpful. I go here at least once a week and it's always something I look forward to.

Great grab and go sushi and more. The Bento boxes look great too. They make the dishes right from their fish market. Great to see the staff properly using fifo when restocking the fridges. Great little market and a nice selection of saki, soju and whiskey.

This place is a gem of West LA. My wife and I eat here pretty much once a week. The fish is great quality and extremely affordable. My personal favorite is to pick out fresh fish and have the chefs cut it sashimi style. One of my favorite places in all of LA and great kind staff

If you enjoy fresh sushi fish that are reasonably priced then you most definitely must check out this gem!!! Also they teach lessons that sell out quickly so you must sign up for their monthly news email that gives you so much information about all that they do!

It was my first time here and I enjoyed it, they had little Japanese Knick knacks you can purchase, a variety of drinks and sakes. It was clean and tidy, small eating area. I must say their chicken Karaage and dip is amazing, their cold noodles is not my jam. The nigiri was fresh. The service was quick and friendly. They have outside seating as well.
