Sushi Roku

Yoko and Paloma always take the best care of me and friends when we come in. I always come back for the delicious drinks and food and great service!!

I stopped in for some sushi and had an amazing experience. Jiro, the executive sushi chef, was so kind and easy to interact with. He prepares both beautiful and delicious dishes. Management also stopped by and introduced themselves. I was so impressed with everything- I wish I could have gone back the very next day!

Sushi Roku is a hopping restaurant, even on a weeknight. It's next to Boa, a steakhouse, and both have valet parking. Sushi Roku has amazing food and desserts; the sashimi is thickly cut and they included a small restaurant banner with the carrot cake! When you order hot sake or miso soup, they do arrive very hot, as the servers state. That just gives them a longer time to cool down, and that means more time to enjoy them. The staff are kind and quality workers. The two restaurants, Sushi Roku and Boa, share the same restrooms, and when you go through the door that leads to the restrooms, you can see bussers and servers briskly walking to and fro, contributing to the flow of both eateries. Sushi Roku is a vibrant restaurant I am glad to have found.

Having lived in northern Japan for 4 years, our standards for sushi are quite high. If you’re looking for quality sushi, go to Sushi Roku! I will say we Uber it quite often also, and it never disappoints! Absolutely delicious! You can taste, feel, see the quality! Our favorite sushi spot! We won’t go anywhere else!

Food is always great and the service was immaculate. From the front door greater to service staff walking by and willing to bring me a staff. Tried a new item wagyu chimichurri and it was sooo good.

My husband and I were in last night for our anniversary. It was our first time and it was fantastic!! Pierce our waiter was very helpful and had great recommendations. The manager Michelle was extremely attentive and really made our night memorable! I recommend trying the Yumaki roll and the strawberry sundae. We will be back for date night !

Outstanding lunch at Roku in Manhattan Beach. The food was phenomenal, and my lunch date and I ended up ordering two extra portions of food just because it tasted so good. The fish and meat were fresh, there were inventive combinations (truffle salmon!), and my matcha tea was lovely. The service was nothing short of spectacular. Our waiter was lovely, and made us feel incredibly welcome. She even brought out a free dessert! On top of everything, I’m gluten free, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure my meal was safe. They even notified me as to potential cross contamination items on the menu, brought gluten free soy sauce immediately, and made a point to double check and inform me (without prompting) that my dishes were in fact celiac safe each time they came out. I haven’t been able to safely consume spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls for a long time, so that was an unexpected surprise. All in all, what a treat! I would happily return, and would encourage anyone else to give this place a go!

I did not expect to find that many solid vegan options at a sushi spot, but they delivered. The crispy truffle rice topped with avocado was the star. Crunchy, rich, perfectly balanced. I would go back just for that. I also grabbed a veggie roll & a flavorful salad. Heads up, the menu isn't clearly marked what is vegan. That could definitely be better. But our waitress was awesome and walked me through everything with zero attitude. Super helpful, genuinely kind, and patient. The Cadillac margarita was strong in the right way and they have a solid bar lineup overall. It is a great place to sit, sip, and settle in for a while. The vibe hits that sweet spot. Romantic but not stuffy. Lively but not so loud you are yelling across the table. The staff was friendly, fun, and on top of it the whole night. Bottom line, I would absolutely go back. If you are vegan or just want solid plant-based options at a sushi place that also knows how to pour a drink, head to Roku!

We walked over to Sushi Roku and were met by the most kind hostesses. After informing them it was my birthday the whole staff made the entire night feel special. The food was excellent, all the sushi tasted super fresh and I had an amazing time. Our server Paloma was super attentive, knowledgeable, and had great recommendations. If you like sushi/Asian cuisine this is an excellent place to celebrate! I will be returning.

I like the Ebi. For us both, the star is the Wagyu. Market price we still need to have two pieces each. They serve mock tails. I love the yuzu margarita. The crispy rice with Wagyu is our favorite appetizer. Although the lamb chop is good too. Try the sticky toffee or the Lava cake for dessert. The restaurant can be noisy. Service is good and the management is visible and checks in on the diners. Yes we will keep coming back

We loved the baked miso cod, tuna crudo, scallop rolls, and the popcorn shrimp. Rolls were delicious, but we weren't fans of the roll with truffles. Their cocktails were delicious - They didn't have apple martini on the menu, but they made one really delicious - yummy.

I came here for Business meeting. The anbiance is pretty cools. I am not generaly a big fan of chain resturants and avoid them as much as posssible. I have had the food at differnet locations many years ago and the food has always been great. The reason I give them a 4 is beacuase over the years as my taste for Sushi has evolved and aquired more taste for the more traditional sushi whey you can actualy taste the fish. The fish quality over all was great but not the best I have had. The rolls I tried were tasty and the sashimi was prety good as well. I feel when you get the really good fish you do not need much to cover the taste and make things better. Service was pretty good. 4 for Sushi 4 for service 4 for ambiance

Great cocktails with unique flavors, service was great although they did bring one incorrect order it was promptly substituted. I would definitely recommend. The portions are small and tapa size so do be aware of that

I got to try the things I normally order and love from sushi spots and have those same favorites but with different tasty twists from sushi roku. The calamari was surprising and yummy. The meat skewers were the highlight. One of those loud busy places so that's the service you get. The crispy fried rice with Tuna is a great idea but I question the execution but am not complaining about flavors.

This is a beautiful restaurant, and the first thing we noticed was how clean it smelled. For me that is step one when judging the quality of a sushi house. The hostess was warm and welcoming and seated us promptly. Staff checked in early, so we were never left waiting or wondering when service would begin. It felt coordinated and professional, with a clear sense that the team works well together and has each other’s backs. We ordered a couple of appetizers (seafood carpaccio and fried Brussels sprouts), the deluxe sushi plate, and a variety of rolls. The sushi itself was outstanding; carefully prepared, perfectly portioned, and clearly made with quality fish. The appetizers were good but ultimately felt unnecessary; given the price and portions, I found myself wishing we had simply ordered more sushi instead. The rolls were well crafted and balanced, though not quite as inventive as places that lean more heavily into fusion-style offerings. Bonus: they have an amazing Sake list! Go nuts. Bottom line: a very classy atmosphere, excellent service, and truly impeccable sushi. If you go, make the fish the star of your order.

Uhh sushi roku bye bye forever 💩
