My wife and I visited Prohibition for the first time the other day. Hope this review helps other people. TLDR: nice bar, good bartender, strong drinks, great live music. Prohibition is a small-ish bar. It’s long and narrow with the actual bar in the middle of the space. About 16-17 seats around the bar. TIP #1 - if you want a seat when the band plays, get there 1-1.5 hours early. Not a lot of seats and they go quick. Place gets packed during showtimes. Band sets up in the very front. It’s shoulder-to-shoulder in some spots. TIP #2 - they have a back room where you can get away from the crowd and still hear the band if you need some space. Our bartender was Lauren (tall redhead) and she was fantastic. Friendly, quick, poured strong drinks, and had a lot of energy. 100% recommend getting drinks from her. They offer a limited food menu, snacks like pretzels, chicken fingers, mozz sticks, etc… We didn’t have any so can’t comment on if they are good or not. They had 5-6 draft beers and gave you the selection on a menu card. Past that they had cans of most beers and seltzers. Good selection of liquor bottles so likely to have what you are looking for. Our visit was positive and we will definitely return in the future to see live music again.

What a great place to hang out mid-week and hear some great bands! Wayward Wednesdays features original local bands which is great! But really enjoyed listening to Emotional Fallout with their classic Emo covers as well! Friendly, attentive staff and a great vibe!

I hate to garnish Prohibition with twinkling stars bc then YOU will show up, in your dangerous Jimmy Choo stiletto heels, accompanied by your "Friend", wearring his Bergdorf Goodman puffer jacket. Then the "regular" chick, wearing old doc Martins, dancing wildly to the free live music with her "casj" dude in his Identical looking Costco puffer jacket, will step on your toes, and you will nudge the offender away, disgusted, turn heels and head for "Halstons", or whatever is left of the old "Bijou" , so that your attire can be better appreciated... Please come in whatever you found in your parent's closet, last dry cleaned 25 years ago, hanging sadly, after Mom's wake. after all, you loved them when they were alive, and you blushed when they coaxed you onto the dance floor at your cousin's Bat Mitzvah decades ago.... They loved to dance to a live band, and, no coincidence, so do you! Sometimes the winters on the Island get dreary, and you could use a "pick me up" without all the effort of curling your lashes and your hair and selecting the perfect outfit. It is the right time to step into Prohibition, brightly lit across from the Massapequa Park LIRR station, order a Tequila (wish you had Don Julio Blanco) and raise your glass to which ever band is playing that night. Hopefully, it is Spindarella, but any upbeat band leader, that can wiggle her as* and belt it out in tune, will do. And when you bop around to the right song, your parents will smile from above, and you know that you chose wisely.

Woman behind the bar was amazing! We got there as they were opening and she was setting up. I never realized how much work went into getting ready for the night. Outstanding!

Prohibition has changed owners in the last year or so since it was front street. Kevin has really brought the music to Massapequa Park as well as his other venues such as The Warehouse in Amityville. Mulcaheys in Wantagh and Kj Farrells. Great music all the time. Friendly bartenders. Food is on point

Quaint, local pub with variety live musicians several times a week. Drinks on par with price and quality. Liquor is genuine, not watered down. The bar and bathrooms are clean, a definite plus. Bar food menu is variety quick bites plus personal pizza. All priced appropriate and portiona as expected. The pizza is cooked as ordered, tasty with crisp sesame seed crust. Pie is perfect size to share among 2 to 4 people, and is from a local source. Staff is kind and sweet, bartenders attentive and social. Definitely a place to spend several hours without breaking the bank and repeat customers.

This place just opened up and occupies the space of the former “front street” bar. The owners did a nice job with renovating the inside. It’s currently on a “soft opening” and should be up and running very soon. The bar is cool looking with its hip white countertop. They have a nice stage area for live music. It’s always nice to see new places in Massapequa Park open up and of course, ever appreciative of the owners willing to take a chance to do so; it adds a great deal to this cool town. I wish the owners the best of success! Since the doors are open now, stop by and check it out.

I went for the live band and they were awesome. The barmaid was very attentive to the customers. It was a nice vibe with friendly people dancing to the music (including myself) Lol. I would go back.

Went there to see nikki Torres experience and it was a great time. Music was great and I loved how musicians would come in and play a few songs and singers stepped in to perform. Great mix of music.

Busy place with lots of live music. Needs more attentive bartenders for sure! If there was proper bartenders, it would get higher marks. Bar was full of empty drinks and a very chatty and distracted bartender.

The female bartender , the reg with all the tattoos gave me the slip I gave her a hundred for a beer and she gave me back one twenty wrapped up in singles. New singles so it looked legit I can’t see respecting that dark place. Didn’t notice it until the morning when my wallet was filled with singles Please don’t go here if that’s what the regular bartenders does it’s a shame with times being so hard

Went on Wednesday expecting live music as advertised to start at 8 (9pm nothing happened) quite possibly the worst old fashioned I ever had (was not mixed properly and was missing ingredients) Bartender spent 5 minutes making out with her boyfriend/husband. Was not expecting a wild night out. I just wanted a decent made drink that was advertised as a specialty drink, but it wasn't a specialty it was terrible.
