Hey guys, don’t review very often but felt like I owed it to this place. Really really enjoyed my first food order. Had Jalapeño Chicken Lo Mein, Mongolian Beef Lo Mein, and Kung Pao Chicken with fried rice. They also included a free egg drop soup. I eat alot of Chinese food and travel around the country and this is some serious high quality food, especially for the reasonable price for the large portions. Each of 4 items was 9+ out of 10. Highly Recommended.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fan Chinese Restaurant is hands-down the best Chinese food we’ve had in the DFW area since moving here from Austin. We’ve tried quite a few places while searching for something that truly compares, and Fan absolutely nailed it. The flavors are authentic, bold, and consistently delicious—everything tastes fresh and perfectly prepared. You can tell care goes into each dish, not just mass-produced takeout. The portions are generous, the quality is excellent, and every bite reminds us why we keep coming back. If you’re looking for top-tier Chinese food in DFW that actually delivers on taste and quality, Fan Chinese Restaurant is it. This place has officially become our go-to. Highly recommend! Also it was extremely sweet they gave us some free donuts with our order! Thank you!!
This is the first time I've come to Fan Chinese Restaurant, and the food is super tasty and, in my opinion, is really authentic. The spice levels and flavors work together in harmony. The prices are what you'd expect. Nothing expensive but it's not cheap either. I'll definitely be back time and time again. Especially in these colder months, nothing is better than a hit cup of egg drop soup and some spicy Tso's chicken to get you feeling cozy.
I got the general tsos chicken, chicken fried rice, and hot and sour soup. Service was great, resteraunt was clean, food was all tasty. A few things to note: While the general tsos chicken was delicious, it's not your standard general tsos. The sauce is bright red and served with pineapple. More like sweet and sour chicken. The hot and sour soup has a smoky flavor (not standard) The fried rice was perfect tho. I will be back to try some more! Updated: Ive returned after quite some time and I will say i have seen improvements and top quality service. I came in for lunch and they were fast, freindly, and the food was on point. The hot and sour soup was easily the best I've had in the DFW area (no more smoky flavor) 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 and the fried rice was even better than last time with plenty of seafood and great flavor. The service was fantastic and the place was clean and very well maintained. Great job to the staff and great job hearing people and improving!
Excellent atmosphere, food, prices, and service. We had Lunch specials G. Tso Chicken and Garlic chicken. It was not overly salty or seasoned it was just right, the calamari was not greasy everything tasted fresh nothing was overcast or overly coated with saw. Excellent and enjoy the friendly staff
We have been eating here since they opened and can’t recommend it enough. Everything we’ve tried has been fantastic. The won ton soup, cashew chicken, general tso, orange chicken, honey chicken all amazing…the service is quick and friendly, regardless if you’re eating in or ordering to go!
This place was pretty delicious. Like everyone said, the portion sizes are huge. We went a few weeks ago so I don't remember what we ordered exactly. They were both really good, but I definitely thought my husband's was much more flavorful, but that's not really helpful since I don't remember the dishes. I think his was a spicy orange chicken...anyway clean and friendly atmosphere. Excited to go back and try more dishes. The only thing I would say is the Mochi is not worth the price. I'd just go to Kroger and buy a box next time!
Came for dinner w/ mom. Everyone was friendly, super clean quaint space and our dishes left us feeling full. Mom had the sweet & sour pork rib and I had Szechuan shrimp chkn egg rolls and wonton soup! Portions were monstrous and food came quick! Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!!
We tried this place for dinner and were super impressed! The restaurant is really clean, and even though it’s on the smaller side, the seating is set up in a way that works well for families or even small groups. We ordered around six different dishes for our family of six (mostly teens and one toddler), and everything came out fast, fresh, and super tasty. They have a really nice variety of options on the menu, and honestly, the portion sizes are huge—one plate could easily feed two people. We had plenty of leftovers to take home. Overall, great food, great service, and a relaxed vibe. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the mood for good Chinese food! Ps… The frames look beautiful!!!!
Amazing food and very authentic, perfect portions, decent pricing, and great service. I cannot say enough the food was very good, I got the general tso's chicken which was very good and had a very good spicy flavor too it. we also got the orange chicken which was also very delicious and had a great orange flavor, not to mention the fried rice was perfect! highly recommend. and bathrooms were clean and nicely decorated.
We’ve eaten Fan 4 times now, once being carry out, 3 times dine in. The restaurant has very nice atmosphere and the food has always been so delicious! Highly recommend for local Chinese food! (Pictured is our carry out meal of: Moo Goo Gai Pan Chicken, and General Tso’s Chicken) Family of 6 and our go to order is: Large egg drop soup Honey chicken General Tso’s Chicken (I like spicy) Moo Goo Gai Pan Chicken Fried and Steamed rice Portions are also a good size!
Was looking for a good Chinese restaurant and goggled places near me. This place popped up just 2.5 miles away and had great reviews. Hopped up and headed out. I ordered the chicken corn soup that reminded me of a place I frequented in Las Colinas 20 yrs ago, curry chicken fried rice and shredded pork with spicy garlic salt. I probably won’t order the pork again because it was mostly veggies. It tasted fine but was low on protein. There’s so many menu items to try so I’ll definitely be back soon. And it’s a very stylish restaurant so you can dine-in too. 4/5
The food tasted fresh and wasn’t overpowering with salt at all. I had gotten the butterfly chicken (combination of orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken). I wish there was just a bit more potency to the flavor of the sauce though. But the portion size was good for the price and the service was good too. Very clean inside. Thanks so much!
Last night we went to Fan for takeout. We ordered Happy Family and Moo Goo Gai Pan. Happy Family was fantastic! However the Moo Goo was not traditional. It was served in a brown sauce with little to no mushrooms. The definition of the dish is "stir fry dish of mushroom ("Moo goo" in Cantonese) and chicken ("gai"). "Pan" means slices, so the name translates as "sliced chicken with mushrooms." Didn't get that. It also had red peppers and zucchini, vs the traditional carrots, snow peas and water chestnuts in a white sauce. The moo goo dinner tasted good just not what was expected. See photos (left - Fan, Right - traditional)
My wife and I felt like Chinese tonight and tried this place. Service was good. The atmosphere was nice and perhaps what we liked best. The food overall was okay. It was edible and not totally disgusting but unusual and not exceptional save for the po po platter. The chicken on a stick was good and the crab rangoon WAS exceptional. As far as the main entree, my wife had sweet and sour chicken. She stated her chicken seemed overcooked. I had the sesame chicken. The fried rice was the biggest disappointment in mine. It just tasted very odd. Portions were more generous than expected but wasn't that great in the first place. We've experienced far worse but we can't see ourselves returning for more.
This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I was very disappointed. One of the dishes was supposed to be minced meat eggplant, but it contained meat strips instead of minced meat, which completely changed the dish and was not what was described. The preparation and flavor were off, and the overall quality did not meet expectations.
Authentic Chinese food is the complete opposite than what we ate here. Cute atmosphere but guy at the front taking our order couldn’t even tell me what’s good and had a terrible attitude. Chicken fried rice tasted like the frozen bag you get a dollar general. Not good at all. Not authentic.
Service was quick and friendly. Was disappointed with their orange chicken and white rice. Chicken had no flavor as the only flavor you tasted was the orange sauce on their. Rice was clumpy and not fully done. Was a nice place to try for the first time but would not return sadly. Portion size also felt small for the price but would be understandable for a local small place with good food, which sadly was not it for me. Solid 2 stars with the food a 3/10. Could not finish the meal sadly.
First time, I ordered the sweet & sour pork rib, meat was dry and hard to chew, like rubber. Today, I ordered the general Tso’s chicken, and what a disappointment, again, chicken was dry & hard. It’s like their meat is either old or overcooked.
Worest Chinese food I've ever had. The moo goo gai pan had a brown sauce, peppers, and zucchini which is not the vegetables or sauce that goes in it. The crab ragoons tasted very sweet with no crab with weird sweet cream sauce inside which was so gross, and the orange chicken was very sweet and pink on the inside. We will never eat here again. Disgusting.
This was my first time at this restaurant and after reading the reviews I had high expectations. I ordered Shrimp Fried Rice for myself and Beef Lo Mein for my husband. It was very, very oily and the taste was not all that great. I couldn’t even eat it. I will not be returning to this location. The service and atmosphere was nice: I spent $30 for these 2 items and I expected it to be better.
