The chicken is flavorful and juicy and the seasoning takes it to another level. I love that their wings and legs are nice size. I visit at least twice a week. Great customer service as well!

The chicken pieces are smaller, and the chicken has seemed to lose some of the flavor, and the fish is smaller in size as well for the price we paid.

The rolls are amazing and the gravy is good. I really like the sweet tea too. The drive through is sometimes slow but friendly.

Best chicken wings anywhere. Service is slow and there was a small language barrier but clearly they wanted to do it right. I got what I ordered which is often a problem at a drive through.

I'm originally from New York and I've never heard of golden chick before. I am in shock and awe about how good it is! We got the 16 piece family tender meal and service staff was extremely nice and even threw in an extra family side of fries! The chicken is amazing! Better than the competitors. I'll be back here a few times a week 🤤

The woman who took care of me at the drive-through window was incredible. She was outstanding. She was attentive. She was courteous. She was sweet I mean, the whole thing went down great. This is a time when everyone’s busy being offended or they’re too distracted to even do their job. This woman needs a raise or a promotion. Because I think she will bring more of her own to the table. Kudos to whoever hired her.

Love this location. The weekday morning shift is the best. I just love the young lady on the speaker each time I go. Her presence and personality is everything!!! She goes above and beyond and if there is a mishap she takes accountability and makes it right.

Thank you for being apparently the only fast food chain that doesn’t sell gross chicken. I was literally scared placing an order because of my experience with other fast food places with chicken that tasted and smelled rotten but golden chick did not disappoint and gave me every item i ordered which is also rare these days. Was kind of bad timing when my mom and I went because they were updating the system on the front register and there was only 2 people, that I saw, working. Got the tender sandwich. The sandwich was good and tender. The only complaint for me was they never asked what sauce I wanted on it but I was fine with what they put on it. My mom got the 2 piece roasted chicken meal and requested all dark meat but they gave her white meat without any explanation as to why they gave her white meat.

This was my very first time visiting this location. WOW😮😀😃☺️! I didn't even know it was there. I look forward to my very next visit. The food was delicious, the service was fast, friendly and professional. I use the drive thru so as for the atmosphere the employees look unified through the window to be their most efficient to serve their customers. I was very satisfied 😋😋😋! Drop by for some delicious Chicken tenders and don't forget to get some Corn nuggets 😋.

I didn't go inside so I can't comment on atmosphere but the exterior was clean. The food was delicious. The service started a little slow but they all definitely made up for it by being genuine and gracious. Great staff!!

I've been coming to this location for many many years. I distinctly remember my mom taking me to this location when I was a kid. The food is always hot and fresh and there's definitely a good-sized portion for the price. Tonight I got the loaded mashed potato bowl without bacon. It is very flavorful and nice and hot. I will say whoever put The zing sauce on top put a little too much. And my roll was a little too much on the crusty side rather than the chewy side, and it went cold fast. One mashed potato bowl and a medium drink was a little over $8. That is very affordable compared to other fast food places around here. I ordered the half & half tea and it has a decent amount of sweetness without being overly so. But the water that they use does not taste fresh, and has a strange aftertaste. Overall I still would come back because I have been for quite a few years now.

Dined in with my husband a few days ago and we ordered a kids meal and a strip combo with a couple of extra sides. The cashier was nice while taking our order and our food came out quickly. However my fried okra was cold once I received it. My husband told the cashier and she remade it no problem. While the okra was cooking we decided the eat our chicken. The chicken was cold to the touch. I was a tad frustrated but things happen so then I politely let the cashier know and she apologized. She then made us some fresh strips and even brought it to our table. She never gave us attitude and even offered to let us keep the cold food. We did not. All this being said I would definitely return but would request the food made fresh when placing my order.

Food excellent.. Wait time was too long, had to wait for legs to cook. I will return in the future for another chicken fix.. The food is tastier than their nearest physical competator (Church's Chicken) and I don't need to check my order to see if it is all there either.

Food is always Hot and Fresh. Some of the Staff are unprofessional when customers are there waiting. I was uncomfortable, along with new customers walking in with the Loud Cursing and Horseplay between employees. This establishment is on the smaller side so it felt as though you are right in the middle of it all. I would rate this establishment 5 stars but SOME of the staff are very unprofessional.

Well I'm not to fond of fried foods especially chicken but I did try this locale. Right now they have a special with what's called wicked chicken, that would be a no go. It may be fried but that's just to crispy for my liking, however the regular fried chicken was rather tasty. But best of all is the servers. Been there twice in the last couple of days and both times 4 different servers were very hospitable & accommodating. I took 1 look at that fresh hard & crispy chicken & said I cannot eat this they didn't ask any questions accept what would I like for a replacement and without additional charges & told me to keep the wicked wings (not that I'm going to eat that they just can't take it back is the policy). I appreciate restaurants that treat customers with value & respect!

Very disappointed with our order today. Fry’s were cold, wings were not spicy as ordered and the Nashville hot sandwiches were cold too. I am giving them 3 stars just because the service from their staff was really good, otherwise it would have been a 1 Star rating !

People working were super friendly and service was fast. Downfall they got my order wrong and the chicken had no flavor. Got the 8 pc fried mixed, with two family sides and a 8 pc corn nugget. My family sides were supposed to be fries and okra. There was no okra but a lot of corn nuggets. The staff was super nice though but the food was not good. Absolutely no taste to the chicken.

It's amazing how service and taste differs between different locations of the same restaurant. I've loved the Golden Chick locations in Plano and North Dallas, and since I recently moved to McKinney, I thought I'd try it out here. Disappointingly, on each of the 4 times I came here, the chicken was dry and chewy and the pieces themselves were far smaller than what the other locations give you. Honestly, skip this one and drive slightly further for much better Golden Chick.

The location was not very clean. Drive through window was covered in handprints and food. The cashier was eating while taking another person's order with her mask was off. The manger was apologetic. Just keep an eye on how they handle your food.

40 min wait. The food was fresh. Would have been a little better if the rolls were in there own box instead of soaking grease from the chicken.

I ordered the spicy chicken wings from the drive-through. It took quite a while for my order, but I was thinking they would be freshly cooked, so no problem. The "spice" was sprinkled unevenly on the top of the cooked wings. It was disappointing, and I can now see why they were not busy. It was not cheap, yet it did not have much flavor. You might want to skip this place gang.

The woman working the register with the colorful dreads was the worst customer service I ever got. She was rude and staring at me when I ask for my order she never ask or anything regards to sides drinks and whatnot. I get the vibe she doesn’t want to be there. I’ll be going to a different location going forward

For lunch, I ordered the Big & Golden combo meal via the drive through at the University/Mckinney location. The employees were nice. However, received a not so fresh sandwich( bread was cold and stale, chicken had a weird texture), the sweet tea was old tasting too. Y'all please do better.

Went there today as we saw it was open again after remodeling. We were very disappointed with the long wait in the drive thru and the meals. We did not get 2 sides we ordered with our meals. The fries tasted old, like they were reheated, and the portion size was a lot smaller than they used to be.. The tender dinner had very small tenders, not like we remembered, and were on the dry side. Everyone said we wouldn't be going back. I do hope they can fix these problems.

This location has really gone downhill. I ordered a Lucky 13 which for the last 8 years has been 13 strips, fries and 4 rolls. Got home and I had no fries and the chicken was not fresh and really salty. Tried calling about my fries, mailbox full. Go back up, there the guy takes some old fries from one box, puts them in another box and hands it to me, after arguing that no fries came with my meal. I taste the fries and informed the guy they weren't fresh to which he replied affirmatively that they were not...I hand them back and ask for fresh fries. Ten minutes later I get a box of fries that were more bruised than battered. The wicked wings were tiny. And they gave us 3 sauces for 13 tenders. Hopefully they make some changes but I won't be back anytime soon.

They did an upgrade and it looks really good. The chicken is always overcooked and dry. They are short staffed all the time and when they are not they are not paying attention and don’t give you everything you ordered. I would recommend checking your order before leaving the line.

When there last Monday, at first they forgot to give us our second drink we asked for it and he was like oh sorry it was fine till we got home and they forgot to give us our tenders we wanted to go back but they would be closed by the time we got there I contacted them but never heard back from them very disappointing.

I always like the food at Golden Chick. Even at this location, the food was good. However, the service here is quite lacking. The young lady that took my order either did not care about this job, or just had no personality, but that isn’t my complaint here. My issue came after I placed my order and asked for sauce. The young lady simply said “It’s 42¢.” Now, I don’t carry cash, so I handed her my debit card. She then proceeded to tell me that there is a minimum charge for debit cards and I’d need to buy 3 BBQ sauces to use my card. “Well, if that’s the case, why didn’t you mention that when I was ordering?”, I said. I’ve never been to a Golden Chick that has charged extra for dipping sauce, so it never crossed my mind. I’m not sure why they aren’t asking this with every order. “Would you like gravy or dipping sauce?” I don’t feel as though that’s unreasonable. They are taking 1000 orders a day. It seems logical. And it’s not really even the 42¢ that bothers me. It’s the attitude behind it and the fact that they could have said “You know, you’re right, sir. We should have asked you when you placed your order. Please, take this BBQ sauce and enjoy your meal.” But instead, you now have one more angry customer, and another bad review on Google.

Ordered a 4 tender meal. I received 4 hard, chewy nuggets. And the scoop of loose gravy is crazy work. That ish is all over the bag, my car, my clothes. I paid $11 to eat fries and bread for lunch and a huge mess to clean up. 1 Star but with a bonus star because the drive thru employees were nice.

I'd give zero stars if I could, we went 15 minutes prior to close.... And yes I get it, they were getting ready to close but according to the website they are open until 10 so we had 15 min. We saw plenty of workers inside so we went ahead and went to the drive thru were we sat for several minutes with no greeting, some girl whom I assume worked there came and pulled her car diagnally in front of ours in the drive thru line was screaming out her window "were closed, we're closed" to where she beagn obnoxiously laughing repeating herself. We literally couldn't do anything but stare at her in shock that someone representing your business would act that way. Definitely won't be trying to come back, what a joke and clowns running the place!!

I will never eat at this golden chicken again. Rude people. They told me my food would be ready in three minutes being sitting in the parking lot for ten minutes and I went in food just sitting there the whole time cold and they give you about four fries in the box the fish was so little i thought i order a kids meal. They should have just left it closed. I had to give a star because it would not me post.

Can't stand poor food handling. Ordered as I normally do with ranch as my dipping sauce, left to eat at home. When I get out the ranch cups there is an extra one stacked on the closed one, I pull it off and it had been used. The cup that was stuck to the one that I had intended to use had residue of ranch and bits of crust from the chicken that was dipped in it by the previous customer. The ranch cups I received (both the filled one and the used one stuck to it) would have had to leave the kitchen for at least the length of a meal, return to the kitchen, and then get served to me at some later time. It could not have been refrigerated and would have had ample opportunity to grow some nasty bacteria and possibly make me ill had I not realized the used cup was there. That is dangerous and unacceptable.

Nice people that work there, but items are always missing. Rolls were as hard as rocks. I stopped going for months and thought I would give them another try....fail.

I ordered a 8 piece chicken and got burnt 5 wings, 2 thighs and a breast. The green beans were beyond cooked...don't have to worry about me eating from this location again

i ordered white meat and i got dark meat the drink was watery and the food was cold and old the fries was not fresh either and i was home before i figured it out..when i went back a few days later the Manager was very Loud and unprofessional.. i know her name but i will not post it on here and my replacement order was just as messed up..Just sad

I come here maybe once every other month. And every single time I’m missing something. I usually just take the L and don’t go back up to the restaurant or call. But today I was in the mood. I ordered two 4pc tenders combos with frys on both. I got home.... no frys . So I call and talk to a manager. She gives some lame excuse that I don’t care about. I tell her I’m on the way 5 minutes out and would appreciate my food being fresh and ready. Her response “well in order to give you everything again I would need the old food back first” Seriously?! Giving the food back is not an issue. They would be throwing it away anyway so I didn’t see the reason in making that statement to an already upset customer. This will be my last time spending money at this location. Words of advice: Slow down, read, pay attention. It’s really a simple job.

Went here on memorial day and thought about ordering food and quickly changed my mind. First I dislike chicken restaurant that cook to much chicken to be lazy. That means your going to get a cold overheated chicken. Second there were more flies in the restaurant than customers. And lastly the lack of cleanliness in the restaurant is enough to make you turn back around.

Yall need to change your google hours. We drove 30 minutes to wait in the drive thru for 10 minutes with no answer but employees working inside. It says they’re open until 11 when it is actually 10.

Absolutely ridiculous, I will never come back and I will HIGHLY suggest that no one else goes here. I ordered my food 15 minutes before my Uber picked me up that way I didn’t have to wait. When I arrived the sign on the door said lobby closed, and a worker came out to give another order. I asked the worker how long mine would be and she went and double checked and said 8 minutes. FORTY minutes later after I tried to call I finally got out of my UBER to knock on the door. The manager on duty told me my phone had been ready, and that there is nothing he can do about my situation. He was like I don’t work here, I’m just helping, and tried to say it’s as if I’m getting mad at an Uber driver for a Uber problem! Just absolutely ridiculous! And swore he couldn’t give me my money back or even a credit

September 2 approximately 7:45 PM give Mr. drive through guy. You might get more business by being more polite instead of just saying what do you want it when a person asked you do you have a special you just said no and go to dead silence.

When I went there their ice cream machine for the dining area was on, but when I went to get some one if the employees stopped me and said 'no no no don't eat that" and as put some in a cone,..... it came out GRAY. "Yeah look at it, you would eat that?" The employee followed thier last statement up with. I was disgusted. Follow up... 11/22/23 So ice cream machine is still not fixed.

We spend like thirty five dollars and one of the associates gets mad at my brother for asking for more condiments. I bought a gallon of tea as well and another associate tried to hand me cups for gravy and mashed potatoes and refused to give me actual cups which I would have paid for if need be classy. Then he gives me a number to call upper management and I’m pretty sure it was a false number he gave out.

Employees were not pleased, shorted me on my order of okra. No fork given even tho I had and paid for gravy, no napkins given, no salt or pepper given. Like their products, but will not use this location again. Too many other options.

The gal who was working the drive thru on Sept. 9th 2021 around 1:30 PM, did not acknowledge us when we got to the window. She was not even friendly once she opened the window, she lost my service and told her we didn't want it anymore. I found her to be rude, the other employees there have never done that before.

Horrible customer service at the University Street Golden chick in Mckinney TX. First of all the young white girl & the young white guy working in the front were just gossiping when I walked in. I then stood there & they just ignored me & continued their gossiping. When they finally took my order of the 9 piece dark & a family order of fries (which is a special they are running). The girl counted the dark meat pieces & then told the guy that they only had 7 pieces of dark. I said just give me 2 other pieces as a substitute, & the guy said "no", they cannot do that. They never asked if I would like to wait for them to cook more dark meat. So I just left. No more golden chick for us, ever. Horrible customer service. 1/18/20 at about 8 pm or so.

Mother's day. Over $50 spent. Nothin good except the box it came in. All 8 rolls smashed almost flat, chicken tenders tasteless, gravy like water, mashed potatoes had no taste & gummy texture. Beyond disappointing. Seriously...on Mother's Day.😶🥀 And the wait time was beyond lengthy. 🤯👎

Ordered a door dash order. Ordered gravy didn't get the gravy. Doordasher asked about the drinks and they said they talked to me and said I wanted fries(never talked to them). Got the order no fries and no drink. our doordasher felt bad that he went and got us a Pepsi since you guys insisted there was no drink. The doordasher should never have to do that if you guys just gave him the drink.

After 3 tries we finally got our order. Worst experience at a golden chick. Don't make an online order after 9. They will not have any chicken left and instead of actually making your order, after you have laid for it. You will show up for them to tell you sorry, we have no chicken left. Only explanation we could get was "food cost" and the manger, instead of watching cameras cause that's all she could do being pregnant, was watching a movie in the back. Maybe food costs would not be so high if you had someone there that could actually do their job. Managing a business takes work and you can't do it sitting down. I suggest you find a work from home job if you can't stand, and if you weren't refunding all these dissatisfied customers I guarantee the food cost would go down. Rant over. We will not be back but hopefully this will help other customers have better service.

Well, 1st off, the chicken was not cooked throughly for the chicken sandwich. And for the roasted chicken, it was burnt like burnt. There is no ketchup or anything. The service was not that great. They kept messing up the order and not that friendly(just a little). Overall, it was not good. I'm sorry, but there's way better options than here. If I could rate this place a zero I would!!! What a horrible experience! My sister raved about this place and how she gets the chicken salad sandwich, how the buns are soft and sweet. Being being pregnant and starving I ordered the same thing but as a combo. She took one bite and was surprised the bread was stale, she asked me how mine was so I went to pick it up and my thumb went through the bun but not because it was soft but stale also. So we went back threw the drive thru to change out the buns and the guy that took or order said well they will all be old because their truck doesn’t come until tomorrow. My sister asked to refund our money and he asked for the entire meal back with our drink and said “we don’t give out free food”. We never asked for anything free, it wasn’t even eatable, but he could of at least let me keep the drink I already drank out of. I’ve never been treated like this, it’s a shame there was no apology, just cold treatment to customers. I won’t give my money to a company like this, won’t be back, very disappointed!

I usually ask if a fresh order of wings has been prepared before I agree to order the kicken wings combo. The person I spoke to told me the wings were freshly made. This was a lie. Although the food was hot and appeared to be fresh it wasn’t. They literally just re-fried the same wings and served them to me. I would’ve at least appreciated the honesty, so that I could just order something else. And of course I understand it’s fast food so you know the quality may not always be there, I get it and understand. However, lying and choosing to re-fry old food can make someone very sick, and or lead to the worst circumstances.

When I came here with my family, 2 of our chickenol orders were burnt the other 2 chicken sandwiches we're raw. They didn't give me or my sister drinks for whatever reason even though we orders combos. Then they forgot to give me fries(again I ordered a combo WITH fries). The people on the counter completely ignored me whenever I talked to them. Plus whoever chooses the music NEEDS to be fired. The only good thing was that on one of the TV's had funny videos but that's it. Overall it was a horrible experience.

I have been going there for a while, but lately it's been going down in taste and freshness. Today, I had some tenders and my wife had a 2 piece meal, and all of it was cold. I asked when they cooked it, and they could not answer, for me it was too long. So as of today, ill make it my last time going there, ever.

I went to The Golden Chic location on West University and I had a craving for a nine piece wicked wings. My Wife tried to tell me not to go there because the appearance of the building looked sketchy. I go to the drive through and the woman tells me to hold, and about 3 minutes later she finally asks for my order. I ask for a 9 PC wicked wings combo with dirty rice. The woman comes back loud and with a nasty attitude and says, we ain't got no dirty rice. My Wife tells me to just not even order and go somewhere else, but instead, I ask the woman for just the 9 PC wings and she says with the same nasty attitude, with sauce or without sauce, I think to myself, first of all it's seasoning, not sauce, and then I tell her again that I would like just the 9pc wicked wings and she says, well some people wants the sauce on the side and some don't. I said please put the seasoning on the wings. She then tells me to pull around ! I pull up to the window, she takes my card, and about 10 minutes later she opens the window and gives me my wings, didn't apologize for the wait and just closed the window. I make it home, open my box and the wings, they just saturated the top of the wings, didn't even have any seasoning on the bottom side of the wings. I started to eat a couple of the wings and they didn't taste good at all. I had given my Wife 3 wings and She even brought the 2 back to me and said they didn't taste right. I would never go back to that location again because I normally go to the location on Lake Forrest. Lesson learned, " STICK TO WHAT YOU KNOW".

They must have been having an off day. 2-23-22. I mentioned to manager that there were a lot of dangerous spots of ice in parking lot to which he replied flatly, "go the other way". Additionally my salad was old and the chicken had a very weird aftertaste to it. All things combined leaving me not trusting the food or the management's concern for customers. I know times being what they are that restaurant business is kind of tough right now, but it's not an excuse not to care.

Manager, Fermin was the rudest person manager has ever met. He took my food and took my money was very disrespectful at the window. Very racist as well. Did the right way had to come back the next day and request my order and did not want to give me my order. I had a receipt and he recognized me. I’m very disappointed and then they don’t answer the phone. They don’t answer the phone. They just throw your food in the box the food wasn’t cooked all the way don’t care I rate this place a zero.

How hard it it to put chicken in a box?

Golden Chick 🐔 is always good but this particular location don't care nothing about quality. Expect your order to always be wrong, expect bad attitude from the hispanic young lady in the front , expect to wait a long time, expect to be pissed ok?. The black lady who works there is very nice and so is the guy who works the window.

Horrible service and very slow food. The restaurant is dead with 0 people yet the food takes 20 minutes. Also refused to give me mobile order through drive through which is wild especially since there are no other customers. Bizarre behavior and most certainly will not be coming back to this location. Save yourself the misery and drive to the one in Melissa instead- they are wonderful there! Fermin in particular was awful to deal with.

This place serves the smallest chicken tenders I've ever seen.... I could get full on your 4 tenders meal at one time, but not now. It's a joke and not enough chicken for a toddler! When I got my order home, I realized no gravy! FIX YOUR STORE PROBLEMS!!

Worst golden chick I’ve ever been to. Got food on the way home from work when I arrived not only was there macaroni instead of mashed potatoes. The chicken was regular not spicy like I asked. They slopped gravy in the container which was all over the bag. Messy as possible. I’ve been to several locations and this is the only one I’ve had this experience with.

the gravy was just loose in a slot and it leaked everywhere - made all my food soggy, got all over the bag, and some even in my car.

We’ve eaten here many times. This time was terrible. I had chicken tenders and okra. Both of these were lukewarm. The okra was dry and hard. The tenders were very chewy. It appears these had been prepared for several hours before serving. My husband’s chicken was also not freshly cooked.

I always get the 24-piece Wicked Wings for $19.99 and have picked up the exact same order at that price from other Golden Chick locations. But here, they tried to charge me $29. I showed the app and explained it, but the manager said, “It’s a different location, we can’t do anything.” Same brand, same order—shouldn’t the price be the same too?

October 28, 2024 ⭐️ Google shows they’re open until 10 PM, but we pulled up at 9 PM, and all the doors were locked 🔒😤. If you’re going to close early, at least update your Google hours 📲 or stay open like advertised. Totally frustrating and a waste of time! 👎

On today June 7th, I came to this place through the drive thru and ordered my food and also had to wait for it for about 15 minutes or so and when I finally received my food, this is what I got for $10.81…that’s a kids meal, fish was hard as hell and the bread was also hard…unbelievable and never again will I come to this location

By far, worst experience I’ve ever had a fast food restaurant, not only did the staff have an attitude the entire time. We arrived at this location at 9:25 PM and did not receive our food until 1024. Not only was our food completely cold and half of the items we asked for weren’t even in the bag and they sincerely didn’t try. Matter fact, mid order a girl in the store stared at our horizon walked away. Not only did they state that they were about to close, which was not true since they didn’t close until 11 they told us that they were completely out of sides, and proceeded to attempt to accommodate for us. Not only did they not give us what we ordered. They then decided to completely forget our side and that they weren’t gonna give it to us and all of our food was extremely cold so we end up having to re-warm it completely when we got home because everything was completely cold as if it had been sitting out not only we receive cold chicken, but we also received old chicken and sides, which makes no sense since we sat there for 45 minutes , if that. Staff, and management need to complete upgrade because this is absolutely unacceptable and horrible. I do appreciate the young man who came to accommodate for the things that we have to deal with. But he also thought it was a joke to not give us half of our food so there’s that too. Btw they gave us old food let me not forget that one

Went there today at the drive-thru and ordered a 2 piece fried chick combo with fries and drink and after receiving my order I noticed my box of food was feeling light and when I made it home and opened the box, I was astonished at the small 2 pieces of chicken and few fries that I could count on my hands with and to say I paid $9 and some change for that. Golden chicken should be ashamed of themselves for that. Now I see why they didn’t have any customers at that place. Bring back the old crew at least you would’ve gotten your money worth

Everything was great until I took a bite out of my combo roll and found a bug. Also ordered 4 rolls for $1.99 but ended up just throwing those away because I was afraid they would have bugs too.
