Tried this on a whim and I was pleasantly delighted by the tastes that I got to enjoy. This restaurant has an elegant atmosphere. Great for a romantic dinner or a warm get together with family. In fact I would recommend this place for a rehearsal dinner. Elegant and welcoming. Now onto the food... Delicious! If it's your first time, I'd suggest trying one of the specials. But the bread and hummus that comes while you wait was so delicious I could not wait to see what other delectable delights awaited me. I had a porthouse steak and my date duck. Both melted in our mouths. The sides complemented the feast. I was so impressed, I will be returning in the future and this will be my go to date place! The hostess and the server were also very sweet and helpful. I'd love to everyone that worked tonight, THANK YOU!

Great food. Fun relaxed atmosphere. Nice outdoor space as well. Everything on the menu is delicious! Very good selection of wine. Ask for some of the Old Soul reds they carry. John the owner is a great guy. A good place for families. Every 3rd Thursday of the month they do a wine tasting. Taste 5 wines for a nominal fee. Includes a selection of cheeses.

This was my first time here, and when I saw they had Monte Christo's on the menu, I was excited... but cautious. The Monte Christo was fantastic! I was pleased to taste the cacophony of flavors that make up a great Monte Christo. I was very pleasantly surprised to enjoy it with Fig jam, as well. It was a unique and tasty variation!

Brian the bartender has a signature old-fashioned that's to die for! Best I've ever had - definitely our go-to cocktail place now. Plus the food is great and the atmosphere is chill.

Sunday night we had a great meal . Portions were substantial. We had fish,pasta and meat all prepared perfectly. Atmosphere allowed for conversation. Service was excellent as usual It was a meal like we got before covid and inflation. Reasonable prices for really good food and service. Of course we will be back

The staff is welcoming, the service is top-notch, and the food is consistently delicious. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, it's truly a go-to place for both special events and everyday meals. Save room for dessert because their chocolate souffle is out of this world. They make it from scratch so it takes about 20 minutes. So worth the wait!!

We had a lovely lunch. They made my favorite for even though it is on the dinner menu. Roasted red pepper ravioli in cilantro cream sauce. You must try it! The Hawaiian salad was yummy too. I highly recommend supporting this wonderful locally owned business.

We had a lovely dinner tonight. The green bean tempura is a wonderful, light appetizer, while the Argentinian eggrolls are simply spectacular. One guest had the spare ribs, which were incredibly tender. My grandson and I shared a pizza, and it was so wonderfully delicious. Our waitress brought my grandson, who is 4 1/2 years old, a dish of chocolate gelato, topped with whip cream. The dessert was courtesy of the house. Wonderful food and wonderful service! This is a place not to be missed.

I have loved this restaurant right after it first opened, with the original owner. Since then it has changed hands and the new owner has kept up its quality remarkably. Great menu and not bad pricing. It’s a cute space in Old Town Monrovia.

Excellent food! My mom recommended that I try Cafe Mundial for my anniversary dinner with my boyfriend. I made a reservation, and we were given a cozy little booth. We ordered the calamari, the pork chop (a special), and the bolognese. Everything was good! There was a bit of a wait for the entrees as there was a party going on at the same time at the restaurant, but our waiter communicated that to us, so we were okay waiting for the main dishes. The prices were all very reasonable as well! I believe my bolognese was around $18, and I got a pretty good amount. Our bill for all the items was less than $75 (before tip), which is pretty good to me. I did feel like the place was a bit understaffed, though, because it only seemed like one person was waiting on all the tables, so we had to wait a bit for refills and the like. She was very friendly, though! The decor is also really pretty, and the overall atmosphere is great. I don’t know how to describe it, but it feels cozy. Cafe Mundial is definitely a great choice to visit for dinner. I feel like this was a great place for our anniversary dinner! I heard good things about their weekend brunch, too, so I’m keen on trying that sometime soon.
