The place is very clean, and the serve is fast and courteous. The food is not over-priced, and the portions are fairly generous. Other than that, JB Burgers is like most other "greasy spoons" - a great place for a quick bite to eat.

You can dine in, dine outside, or take out. Quick friendly service. Great food for the right price. Large portions and large menu.

This place has really good food. If you just want a good charbroiled burger or even a good steak sandwhich this is the place to go. This place has one of the best charbroiled chicken sandwiches in Monrovia. Also a popular place for breakfast—most folks have the pancakes or breakfast burritos. Since they serve breakfast all day, I got a side of hash browns with my sandwich instead of the fries. Fast, friendly service and easy parking. Also, they accept credit card.

I can't believe this place, they specialize in everything from breakfast to dinner. And it's all great. Do yourself a favor and swing by, especially if you can figure out what you want to eat. The pastrami sandwich is out of this world and they even have old fashion fried tacos.

I come here if I don't feel like cooking for 3 years now. They have chicken or beef lunch burritos. Breakfast burritos are ham, sausage, bacon, or everything that they call "The Mixed" burrito. They also have bean and cheese burritos. As you can see, burritos are my go to. I have no complaints about all of them here at JB Burgers. All of their burritos pass my test, I order them all and liked them all. I have to decide which one to get when I visit again haha. I usually stick to the Mixed breakfast burrito or the chicken or beef lunch burritos. Staff is always friendly. They have gotten my order wrong only 2 times after all these years. Thats a very low mistake rate and that was from a phone order. I think my accent can confuse many people so I don't blame them on it. 5 of 5 stars.

Good community everything food. I always get the veggie breakfast burrito with no egg or cheese and add avocado and I love it! Especially with their green salsa. The fries are also yummy and good size. My daughter loves the burgers here also. My mom has had the breakfast burritos multiple tines and says they are good too. I'd recommend this spot to eat when you need a lot of variety for different people.

This place is a fixture in Old Town Monrovia. The food is fantastic and prices are very reasonable. Some of my favorites are the breakfast burrito, the french toast, the hamburgers, french fries, onion rings, and the chilli cheese fries. The staff is friendly and prepares your food to order very quickly. They can get very busy for breakfast but still manage to get the orders out in reasonable time. Their home-made green salsa is outstanding!

Came here for breakfast and got the French toast combo. The food was prepared fresh. Had to wait about 10 min. When it's busy it's the best time to come. Won't disappoint. Also, came here for dinner and had me a double cheese burger with fries. Burger was juicy and fries were fresh. Everything was really really good. Flavor was on point. We had breakfast there last Saturday, and we had a good experience. The people are friendly and you'll be served pretty fast. There are a few tables inside and two outside (perfect spot for a sunny day). The food is good and generous, best part of it being the price, it's very affordable especially considering the good quality of this little family friendly place. It's cash only though, so make sure to have some when you go there :)

You order outside, and when it's ready, they call you to an inside window. I tend to order the chicken sandwich combo all the time. It's plenty to eat, and the fries are tasty. It's clean but not elaborate. I have been going here for years and never had to order outside in the rain.

This place is very packed almost everyday especially lunchtime. I remember the first time I went here the staff provided me best food recommendations and since then me and my husband both love this place. My husband like to order the hard shell tacos and these are my favorites: porkchops plate (breakfast and lunch), turkey club sandwich and cheeseburger special. I also see that they have lots of regular customers here as the staffs are calling them by their firstnames. This is the kind of place where families dine in and get together.

Almost every day I come in early with my wife because we both work down the street at a Midas off of Myrtle just before the 210 freeway. The two guys we normally see I don’t remember their names (sorry guys) but they’re always nice and always make sure our orders are correct. Now recently my wife and I did have a big loss due to a house we used to live in caught fire, and basically lost everything. This happened on December 2, 2024. I told the guys our story and they have been asking how we’re doing, and is there any progress? All I’m going to say is, thank you for caring and asking, it means a lot to us. Thank you so much! Always have great tasting breakfast burritos and your coffee is better than Starbucks most of the time, unless the wife wants coffee from Starbucks then we go there (sorry lol)! Probably the best burger on the block, and there is a lot of competition. It's delicious and affordable. Fries are great, too. Fun place to sit inside and eat as it feels like an old timey burger joint. If you're looking for one of the most American burger joints around, look no further. The buns and the cheese melt together around the burger to warm your heart and soul on a dreary night. Give it a try. Also, be careful, the fries are usually very hot when they are first served. Take your time.

We love JB Burgers. Why? For one, the food is great. I get a steak sandwich all the time. No mayo, due to a diet constraint. Sometimes I'll get a bowl of chili ... or if I'm in the mood, I'll get a stack of french toast with my steak sandwich. Yes, that's a lot of food! Steak sandwich - The french roll is good. The steak is a nice piece of meat and it has great flavor. They put tomatoes and lettuce. The tomatoes are good. The lettuce adds a crisp crunch, but there's a lot of white lettuce. The steak sandwich is a must! My better half gets a guacamole burger. Tasty and the guac adds some healthiness AND the creamy texture replaces mayo, 1000 Island or any other sauce that's not healthy. The chili is good! When it's chilly or on a rainy day, it's good comfort food! French Toast - this is good stuff. They give you a lot and it's made well. Taste is really good and they use a thicker bread - yummm! Now to the wonderful staff! 95% of the time we've had good to exceptional service. I order inside the restaurant - makes sense since we're eating inside. One time, this gal told me I could not order inside and she made me go outside to order. I told her I order inside all the time, but she didn't want to listen. I almost left, but I saw the familiar faces there, so I ordered outside. The next time I saw her there, she let me order inside. I try to get to JB's at least once a week. They're my go to! I highly recommend JB Burgers! 10/25 update: We still come here and we truly enjoy the place. The staff is fantastic! Food is great and prices are very reasonable. We live in Pasadena, but we go out of our way to eat here. Highly recommended!

Fantastic service, great menu with lots of variety and affordable prices. I'm not a fan of char grilled burgers, so i probably won't order a burger here again; but i know most other people like char grilled burgers. Since their menu has lots of variety though, I'll just try something different next time - which is easy with all the different menu items available to choose from. Great value for your money. If you grew up going to what we used to call "diners" -- simple places that have been around "forever", with a simple atmosphere -- just tables and chairs, nothing fancy, but a place with excellent food -- "real" food and big portions -- then JB Burgers is The Place for you. With so many of the old, great standbys sadly going out in our little downtown of Monrovia, CA, it is reassuring to see JB's still with us, serving up great food since 1974. The food is what I call "comfort food" but if you insist on getting a salad you can -- ha-ha. But what you will want is the delicious char-broiled hamburger and crispy fries or maybe a Reuben or patty-melt. One thing I love is that your sandwich comes wrapped in a wax paper "folder" which gives it old-fashioned charm and keeps it hot while you slowly devour it. And they serve a very reasonable breakfast with eggs and bacon and hash browns done to perfection. And lest you forget you are in California, you can get a great breakfast burrito or carne asado taco. A Monrovia institution which have visited at least once a month since I moved to this town 4 years ago. With a pretty extensive menu, their staples (burger, fries, zucchini sticks) are on par with any Tops or Connal's out there. JB's fried chicken dinner is also unexpectedly tasty for a place that isn't necessarily a chicken joint. They even make a good burrito!

Amazing brunch deals!!! Parking can be found either around the corner in a public lot or on the street. They have great brunch options for super reasonable prices! $6 for the egg special and it was very filling (a huge amount of hashed browns, three eggs, and two slices of bread)!! You order outside and can eat inside or outside. The indoor seating is very loud and echo-y. But it is clean and has a good amount of seating. The cashier was not friendly (reminded my friend or the Seinfeld soup guy that would say “no soup for you!” If you displeased him in any way.) but she did get our orders down correctly. The strange thing was when my friend ordered tea, they charge you for cup size (mind you, it is styrofoam) and it’s literally tea from a bag. Aside from that, the food was good and honestly, the price leaves you full and happy you didn’t have to pay a whole lot!! I would definitely return!

It had been a very long time since I had been back in Monrovia. JB's is an icon in Monrovia and I have many fond childhood memories of going there. My favorite item has always been the Pastrami so when visiting, this was a bucket list item for my trip, and as you can see from the photo, I was not disappointed. For some reason, I was not able to have diner that evening. ; )

This place has been here ever since I can remember! It has always been good it's always been a place that's packed bcuz they have good food from burgers to tacos to pork chop dinner plates. If your a Monrovia native more than likely your going to run into someone you know here. Its especially busy on fridays when the Monrovia street fair is going on. You see all age groups and families in there. It's a cash place but they also have an atm there on the inside. There's 2 entrances one on Myrtle ave and the other one is on Olive which is the back entrance.

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo from here and it tasted delicious!!! When I arrived, the cook was already cooking up some bacon and it made the visit even better. Friendly staff, but be ready to pay with cash! That's the only reason I gave this place a 4-Star rating due to not being able to pay with my debit card. Luckily they have an ATM inside their store... What a coincidence. Nevertheless this place is worth visiting because the food alone makes up for the inconvenience of not being able to pay with your debit card.

As far as a non chain burger/coffee shop goes. This place is great. We have gone there for breakfast and lunch and the food and service is good and what I would expect from such a place. If you are looking for gourmet, this is not for you. If you want a tasty grease pit, head on over.

Stopped in for breakfast, I had huevos rancheros. It was just okay, juevos were way overcooked, and the ranchero sauce was pretty bland. Service was lacking a smile. The restaurant was clean. It was just okay overall.

This place is OK, I stopped by for the first time with my GF and we got chili cheese fries, zucchini, a cheese burger, and a colossal burger. The chili cheese fries were a 2/5, the fries are good but the chili taste EXACTLY LIKE WEINERSCHNITZEL! Wouldn't get again. The zucchini were amazing, thick chunks and the ranch was sooooo good. The burgers were good as well..... but, the colossal burger is just a pastrami burger ._. You would think it would be a double pastrami burger, it was pretty small. But all in all, it was okay for the price point. The search for great chili fries continues

The food order was wrong. Even tho the cashier went over the order twice. The price for fried zucchini is high, and we got bits and pieces. Not many whole zucchini at all. Paid for extra ranch for dipping and didn't receive them. Once again, even tho the cashier said, it was in the bag.

I have ordered from here many times and I love the breakfast. But today I was very disappointed in the service. I came in to look at menu I was going to eat inside. I stepped out and and came back standing in front waiting for my order to be called at the appropriate window that says (PICK UPS) only. Two men walked up and started ordering (at the wrong window) so i walked back inside to ask if my order was ready. The lady (may have been in charge) told me pick up order outside at the pick up window. I calmly explained the two men that where still ordering where at the wrong window. She said "oh ok well you can pick up outside. Wow I and my family have been coming here for the past 9 years and never had a issue. I will and my family will not spend another dime at J B Burgers. Good food horrible service.

This place has been a landmark in downtown Monrovia for years. I decided to give them a try a few weeks ago. The egg sandwich was decent but when I had the veggie burrito it was not good. They didn’t put the avocado I asked for, the burrito was just rice and burnt onions which I had to annoyingly remove. The service isn’t the best either. Whoever owns this place needs to give it a makeover so that the community and people visiting can enjoy a cool hamburger joint that’s been around since the 70s

I been a customer of JBs for years and has been one of my fav. spots but today I was shocked and disappointed to see that the restaurant has made a dramatic changes in there portion size. The following items have shrunk? Why? I'm talking about breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. The prices have gone up a bit too, which I understand. But why the cut back on the original size of the items. It just seems like it not worth the bang for the buck anymore and that's a bummer.

I walking by, just bought a soda. I had to use the restroom. The customer restroom closed. So, they let me use the Employee restroom. And to be honest this was the worst restroom. It was so filthy, there was pee everywhere all over the floor, they had no SOAP. I would never eat here knowing that the employees are not even washing their hands with soap. Disgusting! Worse than a bar or gas station restroom. It just ain’t right.

I have eaten at this place for years, usually on Saturday mornings. Last week ordered to go, which included a drink that was given to my in a defective cup. By the time I got home, the drink had leaked completely onto the carpet. Felt, no problem, I will tell them about it and accept the replacement drink I was certain they would offer. Arrived this morning to order and told about the problem when the mgr/owner said they would not replace it because I did tell them about the problem on the day of purchase. She went on to say “you’d be surprised to hear what people try to get away with.” I told her that was insulting, told her I was a retired police officer and current church pastor and that I would never lie about a glass of orange juice. I am quite surprised about the entire ordeal. Worst yet, they have lost a longtime patron.

I am boycotting this place because they want to charge you $1.00 more to change from coleslaw to a salad when you order a dinner. Its THE PRINCIPLE of the matter. Lettuce is Lettuce. I had been going to this restaurant for well over 35-40 years. They never charged to change. One day the owner was there and she is the one who tried to gouge. I said oh no. NOT TODAY. Just cancel my order. So she lost like $8.00 for $1.00 greed. My 77 yr old mother likes the place but until they change that rule I will not order for myself. I use to visit at least 2 -3 times per month. Oh well

im a regular here and im honestly disappointed. my chili cheese fries, the cheese was not melted on top whatsoever and it was a bit cold. i genuinely love it here and i always come here especially for the servers, but tonight i was disappointed. i know everyone makes mistakes and has their bad days, but please dont put that upon your customers.

I came in to enjoy some breakfast and there happened to be a senior citizen who also happened to be a veteran of our country who was in front of me placing her order when the cashiers were harassing her about coming into the restaurant with her tiny chihuahua dog in her dog carrier backpack which she had on her back. The old little lady says to the cashiers "ok, ok, I'll go outside but this is my emotional support animal which can be with me anywhere I go ". To which JB responded, " no" to. "She was clearly emotional over the harassing and to make matters worse they call out her order once it was ready and she comes back inside to collect her food when the manager starts in on her about bringing in her dog and tells her you can't bring in the dog. So the lady goes back outside and they bring her the food. This senior citizen was not a homeless person either and did not deserve this treatment. I went outside and sat with her and she explained to me that this is the way JB treats her everytime! I will never do business with you ever again. Medoicre food to say the least. Limp bacon, rubbery eggs. The only positive thing about this deplorable situation is that I made a new friend in this sweet veteran. Shame on you JB burgers for treating your veteran senior citizens this way, absolutely unbelievable if I hadn't witnessed it!!

I ordered a chili dog with onions and small fry..figuring it couldnt be messed up..ive tried the samething before,and no onions..i asked if the onions were on,which i hate to do,,and they were,,i didnt ask this time noonions again..after a 3 dollar tip..Me personally..i feel the waiters do not care about getting your order correct..i will find another dinner that does
