Wow. It's a good place if you want to find REAL fried chicken. The fried chicken is sooooooo crunchy outside and juicy inside. The sauce with a little bit of curry taste matches perfectly with the fried chicken. The homemade lemonade is good but they add a full cup of ice cubes so......I would try something else or they have free water. The sandwich is very huge and a little bit spicy. We love this place and will come back often. For the service, well, it would be better if they can be more friendly and explain more of the menu. There are only 3 types of sandwich on their screen. However, if you go to Yelp, you will find more options.
Holy Moly why did we wait so long to finally try Chicken G's. The portions are huge at a great price too. The chicken was moist and perfectly crispy. The fillings, slaw, sauce etc paired really well with the sandwich! I was full after eating half but had to keep going bc it was so good! We also ordered some tendersnon the side. They were also really good but we definitely over ordered. They still tasted amazing heated up in the air fryer the next day. Cant wait ro come back for more! This place is definitely my new number one spot for a fried chicken sandwich!
Have been at both the SF and the Mountain View location now, and it seems that the chicken is amazing at both. The service was not great as they gave us fries instead of the coleslaw we ordered, and the tables were not properly cleaned up. You're here for the juicy, crispy chicken though--and that's what you'll get, whether it's as an enormous patty in the big G sando or on its own as the G Meal. They also have a bathroom in the back!
I ordered fried chicken wings, French fries and coleslaw from this legendary restaurant. Honestly, the taste and seasoning of the crunch of the chicken was amazing and truly fantastic. It is literally better than all of America and I am sure of that. The taste is amazing and crunch and it comes exactly as in the picture and the sauces are really eaten with the box because of the richness of the taste. A small note to the owner. A piece of advice, please just change the food boxes because they come to the customer wet. Finally I would like to say that the chef’s hands should be wrapped in silk.♥️🌹🌹♥️🌹
Chicken sandwiches are amazing and all of the sides and sauces are really good too. The service is great also! Very friendly and they gave a free small cup of chai too while waiting for our food.
I come to Palo Alto a couple times a month for work. I found Chicken G's and they have the best chicken sandwiches I have ever had. A large piece of crispy chicken with all the fixings and their sauce is the best. Friendly quick service and very satisfying. I definitely recommend and I will be back next time I'm here.
This spot right here became my new local chicken spot. Got some thighs and drumsticks for take out and even after the drive home it was still crunchy and juicy. We got to try the regular and spicy chicken. It was flavorful all the way to the bone. The spicy was a low key spice that tickled your tastebuds at the end (I love it). I usually like to support the local business on principle, but I will support this one because the chicken is great and the people that work there are super friendly.
Perfectly crisp chicken with great fries and sauce! I went prior to grand opening so it took a while to get my food…plus the place was popping with customers on a Friday night, but nobody was complaining! The food was amazing and clearly all the patrons understood that and didn’t mind waiting for such a delicious meal.
The ABSOLUTE best fried chicken place. It is my go to place whenever I want to get chicken wings. That’s my favorite. Sandwiches are good too. Oh, don’t forget their special white sauce. Yummy!
Chicken sandwiches are absolutely delicious and the owners are very friendly. Offered me some free chai while waiting. Definitely a hidden gem!
One of the best chicken sandwich around. Its also one of the biggest and crispiest chicken sandwiches as all the sandwiches are made after you order. Opted for the naughty chick which has peppers to give it a bit of a kick but not too spicy. Comes with coleslaw or fries. The sandwiches are quite large so probably double the size of the chain store chicken sandwich places.
This is the biggest chicken sandwich by far. The pineapple refresher was indeed a refreshing drink. They have a nice g sauce that i enjoyed dipping my french fries in too. If you're extra hungry then this is the sandwich for you. Personally I'll probably head to starbird for the slightly more interesting bun-veggie-sauce.
One of my favourite go-to places for fried chicken. Convenient with a small prayer room. Parking spots for 3-4 cars at the back. Otherwise, public parking available at nearby estate.
The food is great! Got the Big G sandwich and it was really tasty (note: i asked for extra sauce on the side). Also got fries and a side of mac and cheese, both very good! The place is cute and cozy on the inside, but seats maybe 20-25 max. I definitely recommend this place! Will be coming back a lot iA :)
This was a great find! The location is unfortunately far from downtown but parking on El Camino is easy. This is close to the neighborhoods in walking distance for a lot of fortunate people that like fried chicken. I didn’t know this was a soft opening but they have obviously perfected the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken came out super crunchy and moist and tender inside; I found myself eating around the outside just to eat the crust of the chicken. I had the naughty chick sandwich and it was nice and spicy. They added little slices of jalapeños or some kind of pepper on top of the shredded lettuce topped with the fried chicken. It was absolutely delicious. I asked them if they will be bringing out a bucket of chicken similar to KFC and they said that it would come later. I would definitely go back here for the fried chicken sandwich.
I love this place, my favorite is chick-licious chicken sandwich. The taste is similar to the KFC I ate in China(If you've tried KFC in China, you should know what I'm I say) sandwiches are freshly made and huge. Perfectly crisp chicken with great fries . The shop can sit indoors and outdoors. Parking is convenient recommended
The best Zinger-style halal chicken sandwiches I have had in America! I am from Lahore, Pakistan and this place basically takes me back to the awesome KFC Zingers I grew up loving. The taste is amazing, portion sizes are MASSIVE (not even kidding). Prices are reasonable and the rewards program is worth signing up for. Plus I love how its open late and there is even a small area for prayer.
It's not just fried chicken, It's Chicken G's best! I've been passing by El Camino in Mountain View for about 1 year and today I decided togive It a go. The customer service is great and the working environment is well coordinated. They have the famous "My Veg G" burger house made potato and chickpies patty. I asked for combo #1 and you get to choose 1 serving from fries, colesaw, mac and cheese or seasoned fries. It's a great place to c9me and enjoy a delicious chicken fried sandwich or burger. Great taste!
Chicken G’s is a hidden gem for fried chicken lovers! They serve hand-slaughtered, hand-battered chicken, and you can really taste the quality — crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned. Their chicken sandwiches are a must-try, especially The Big G and the spicy Naughty-Chick. The fried chicken combos and tenders are super satisfying, and the Loaded G-Fries and mac & cheese make great sides. Don’t skip the house sauces or their refreshing lemonades! ⭐ Highly recommended — 9.5/10!
Cashier recommend tender combo over bone in and it didn't disappoint. Curry dipping sauce really hit the spot! Food was delicious! So glad they were open late. Service was fast and friendly. There's a small parking lot in back. Dinning room inside was closed but they had a handful of tables outside. I like that they had a prayer room.
I recently visited this burger spot and had an amazing experience! I tried the Naughty Chicken Sandwich, and let me tell you—it was absolutely delicious! The spicy kick from the jalapeños paired perfectly with the crispy, perfectly-breaded chicken. Everything about it was spot on. For $15, including a side, the sandwich was HUGE—definitely too much for me to finish, which is saying a lot! I opted for coleslaw as my side, while my husband had the seasoned fries. Both were fantastic, though I was bummed they were out of mac and cheese. The fact that the restaurant is halal is a huge plus for me, and the staff was really friendly, making the experience even better. This place is definitely one I’ll recommend to others and would love to revisit! If you're in the area, don’t miss it!
the best chicken sandwich in the bay area, amazing customer service, these guys know how to it! ❤️🙏🏻
Amazingly friendly and generous employees with huge portions of well seasoned food. Definitely recommend!

BEST friend chicken in the bay area! Recommend to pair it with G Sauce and Jalapeño!
Their crispy chicken sandwiches are absolutely AMAZING!! We tried almost all of them, and honestly, every single one was packed with flavor! The Naughty Chicken Sandwich — hands down the winner! Crispy, juicy, and just the right kick.
Literally the best chicken sandwich I’ve tried! The food isn’t expensive, the quality is great and they give you such a huge piece of chicken and so much fries. The people there are very nice as well, highly recommend.
Great service! The gentleman at the front was very nice and got our order to us quickly. Everything is fresh and made to order. The Chai and season fries are 🔥🔥! 10/10 recommend Chicken G to eat in!

Fresh fried chicken with spices on the inside is savory. The chicken was juicy and flavorful, but the skin could have had more spices, but that's okay. The Texas toast and fries were decent. I thought it was a bit overpriced for what it's worth. I enjoyed the atmosphere, they have some games available.
Take out ordered on yelp. Ready in 10 minutes Not. Got there and didnt have my order however they acknowledge asked me what I ordered so it would take about 10 minutes took 20. That’s OK. Got home. It was the wrong order however I was so hungry. I didn’t care. Instead of the Gmeal I got the Big G sandwich which was good but could have been a 10 if they had make some changes. here’s the two things were they failed on the sandwich. 1) too much mayonnaise . 2) the bun was inferior quality cheap and fragmented. but the chicken Wow! It was outstanding: crispy crunchy a little bit spicy and moist. I took the chicken out of the sandwich and ate it… threw the bun swimming in mayo to the side. The portions are huge seriously I think two people with reasonable appetites could share one order with 2 sides There’s a ton of fries and a ton of coleslaw, I would say enough for three people unless you’re super hungry. Then just two. Summary: the chicken, they got that right excellent! The sandwich was not constructed correctly in my opinion. Too much mayo It’s ridiculous. The coleslaw very very tasty however, way way too much mayonnaise. The french fries pretty much standard seasoned fries nothing to write home about. They get soggy by the time you get home for takeout, if you’ll need to throw them in your toaster oven. They are boxed and trap moisture . Probably would be a better experience if you eat in the restaurant, but there aren’t that many tables but you could eat outside. There’s a few outside. I will definitely return but make a few changes. I will order the Gmeal or tenders forget the sandwich , no sides. I’ll take the chicken use my own potato bun and construct my sandwich with less mayo and no cheese when I get home. Next no online pick up orders I definitely will CALL to order or order at the restaurant . If you’re going to pick up your order, I would suggest not to use online ordering platforms, including YELP unfortunately. I did see a DoorDash worker come in so maybe delivery is okay. Oh and make sure to check your order before you walk out the door read some of the other reviews. Cheers. Good job with the chicken. I’m impressed the sandwich not so much. But I’ll be back.
7/23/2024 Chicken G's 1414 W El Camino Real Mountain View, CA 94040 This strip of ECR from this place to Dave's in SV at SSR must be the sweet spot for fried chicken in the area, not necessarily a good thing. This place has a smallish parking lot and lucky on street parking. I got a Chick-licious sandwich with fries for dinner which took a little longer then I expected but they have a lot of take out business. My Chicken was huge with a moist center and crispy, spicy (not really hot) breading. The fries were okay and I saved about half of my meal to take home. It was okay and maybe repeatable but it didn't stand out among the many purveyors in this area.
Honestly I personally prefer Popeyes more. The chicken had an after taste that I personally didn’t like. But I think it’s worth a try because my palate might not be the same as yours!
Son thought the chicken sandwich was good and on the tastier side and maybe better than KFC or Popeyes. However, the service was rather slow. Took 24 minutes after the order to get the food. There isn't a lot of place to sit either. The food prep staff looked new and the space is tiny.
I tried the Naughty Chick and the Big G. They were both pretty decent the chicken was pretty crispy and juicy. The spiciness of the Naughty chick came mostly from jalapeño so it was really spicy unlike the usual sauce which has a lot of flavor coming from spices. A bit disappointed with the spicy sandwich and the fact that there was no Mac cheese and it was only middle of the day.
If you want the best zinger you’ve ever gifted your tongue with the opportunity of tasting, come to this place. Amazing Zinger, although oily and a diet-destroyer, I would say it’s worth trying at least once. I love that they have a prayer room. The only downside to this place is that they don’t have a restroom inside the restaurant, you have to go outside to use it. Also the place is a really unattractive shack, and judging from how it looks on the outside, I would never eat there. Nevertheless I go occasionally because of how darn good the zinger is. I also really recommend the pineapple juice (sublime).
An employee recommended the Original G chicken sandwich. The. Chicken was pretty big, juicy, and I felt the batter was just the right amount along with the house garlic sauce. I ordered the coleslaw as a side. The coleslaw was really good with just the right the texture and taste. It might be some of the best slaw I’ve had in a longtime. The service was friendly and helpful. The condition of the restaurant was dated. The parking lot and inside could have used a good sweeping. There were a few nats around the table but it wasn’t overly bothersome or off putting. Come for the chicken! The price was around $15 for the sandwich and the coke was under $3. I would come back and try a different sandwich in the future.

I got a Naughty Chicken (the spicy sandwich). The chicken meat itself was good. Breading was crisp but fell off really easy. The nice thing is they provide a huge piece of chicken, so I didn't feel like it was overly priced for what I got. Mac n cheese was pretty boring. The bread crumbs on top didn't add anything to it. Also, I was there in the middle of the day when there was almost no business. Just one person had basically picked up their food right before I ordered. But it took 20 minutes for my sandwich and mac to be ready. And the weird thing was a couple guys came in and ordered after I'd been waiting 15 minutes already, but got their food within a minute or two of me getting mine. Kind of disappointing but not sure if they fry chicken in batches or what. I'd maybe go back but it's just decent chicken. Nothing crazy special.
Total Score: 5.44 Bathroom: 2.5/5 Lots of puddles but still usable Customer Service: N/A Was a takeout restaurant Ambiance: 3.5/5 “Not fast food, fresh food” sign. Food: 3/5 Chicken was good! However, I feel like all the random vegetables didn’t really fit in. Also Mac and cheese wasn’t great. Also also heard from my coworker that the pineapple juice he got wasn’t very great. Fries were awesome though. Wow: 0/1 Didn’t wow me. Total Score = BR + CS + 2*AM + 5*FOOD + WOW
I stopped by this place late at night after my evening classes to pick up dinner. I had ordered through Uber Eats but chose to pick it up myself. When I arrived, however, it seemed like my order hadn’t been prepared yet, so I ended up waiting quite a while. They did apologize for the delay, but it still pushed everything back. The place itself looked quite busy for a late-night spot — lots of people either dining in or waiting to pick up their orders, so it seems to be a popular late-night option. I ordered wings along with masala fries. The fries were essentially regular French fries with a light sprinkle of spices — good overall, though I felt they could have used a bit more seasoning. The wings were decent as well, but not particularly standout. I found them slightly under-seasoned, which kept them from being truly memorable. Overall, it’s solid late-night comfort food — nothing extraordinary, but still satisfying if you’re craving classic fried bites after a long day.
I really wanted to like this place. I have friends who come here often, and I currently live nearby. But after a few tries, I think Chicken G's isn't right for me. Starting with the pros. The service is typically fast and friendly. You do get a lot of bang for your buck, as the servings are generous. And, when I taste the chicken, I can tell it's well-seasoned, flavorful, and made-to-order. But, I just think the fried chicken is just way too heavy & oily. The breading is excessive, as my mouth dries before I get to the chicken underneath. The sides, like the fries and coleslaw, are also average. While I appreciate Chicken G's and acknowledge some like what's offered, I feel there are better places for fried chicken, even for halal customers.
Fried chicken is excellent! Super crispy batter and the meat just falls apart. I would recommend ordering just the chicken itself. The bun, veggies and cheese don't add much if you order the sandwich. Location feels like it should just be a takeout spot, but I appreciate the seating.

I've gone here frequently over the past year because their chicken is good and it's a great Halal option, but my last experience here was extremely disappointing due to the service. I ordered takeout for their naughty chick sandwich, and came home to a sandwich with no chicken. I called the store and the person I spoke to told me that I would be allowed both a refund and a sandwich. I drove back, which took around 25 minutes due to a Castro street event and the traffic around it. When I got there, I talked to my server, Rocky, and showed him my receipt. He insisted multiple times that they couldn't give me a refund, and even began to crumple up my receipt! When managers were finally involved, they took in my card information and told me I would be issued a refund within 24 hours, which I hope will be the case. They then told me that my choice was between a refund or a new sandwich, and the people working there refused to make me a new sandwich despite telling me beforehand that they would. I totally understand mistakes happen, but I would have appreciated some honesty over the phone so I could've been saved the commute. The shady service (was it necessary to lie to me?) and the lack of support for my situation this last time will deter me from frequently coming back.
I ordered a Chicken Sandwich, and they force you to add a side so it came out to be $16, which is crazy expensive compared to most chicken sandwich places. I admit they do give more chicken though than most places. However, the sandwich was essentially only tenders, there was no way you could hold it to eat as an actual sandwich. It was also extremely salty so I was completely dehydrated after eating. Service was slow, and the Mac and cheese were absolutely inedible. Do not recommend this place at all

Not sure why this place has so many high reviews. Just about the only good thing here is the fact that the food is made fresh to order. However, this also means your wait is going to be a LONG one. Especially if you decide to get more than 1 combo. I ordered a 21$ chicken tender "basket" which was 5 pieces of tough, over battered massive hunks of plain unseasoned meat. Why is "basket" in quotations? Well, there was no side, no offered drink, a tiny amount of sauce that was only barely enough for two of the tenders. I got a lemonade that was nearly 6$ and was maybe 10 ounces. It's supposedly house made as well but it tastes like the lemonade made with syrup at Wendy's. The store itself feels dated and unwelcoming; with a padlocked door, 24 hour surveillance warnings everywhere, visibly under-maintained leather seats, yellowed paint, a broken kiosk that has been left out to get coated in dust... need I go on?
Very underwhelmed. Moved to the city of ATL and have been looking for a good fried chicken joint. Reviews made it sound like it would rival the stuff found in the southeast and it just didn't. The chicken itself was cooked decent, but the breading fell right off and did not hold. The mac n cheese was incredibly watery and tasted like someone just threw a bunch of household seasonings into a box of Kraft, it was cold to add insult to injury. The cost for the subpar meal of 2 tenders, mac n cheese, and a piece of "texas" toast (in quotes as it was just bread) was a staggering 15$. Will not return. Marketed as premium fried chicken, however did not match up to even normal fried chicken

First time here. Said it’s not a fast food but it is still a fast food. Don’t be fooled by the scorching hot crispy chickens they served. My fried chicken (thigh) was a bit red inside and when I told the guy about it as a pointer for next time so they cook their chicken right he then said it was a red sauce. Instead of just taking some pointers they instead lied saying it’s a red sauce. How on earth a red sauce got inside your fried chicken. My appetite went away. This is not a place I will ever come back to. I opted to eat here due to someone taking me for a quick lunch and said to try it.
Terrible customer service. We arrived at 11:30 PM — well before the listed closing time of 1:00 AM — but chairs were already stacked on tables, making it clear they didn’t want us to sit. When we tried to sit down, we were treated extremely rudely. There’s a dark-haired young man at the counter who is consistently unfriendly and unpleasant every time we visit. If indoor seating is restricted after a certain time, it should be clearly posted. Management really needs to address this ongoing issue. Dear Manager, the receipt clearly shows the date and time, so you should be able to identify which staff member was working at the counter then.
I got my fried chicken undercooked but they claimed it's their red sauce. How come it can be sauce? It is absolutely blood. After my claim they offered another piece, but still same thing happened. This will be my last visit here
