My husband's favorite burger place, besides Fuddruckers. They are made fresh and the meat actually tastes good. They sometimes go heavy on the mustard, so he just adds his own. He & our sons like the spicy ketchup with their fries. I get the jr. Burger and it is just the right size for me. Seniors get a small drink for free, but you have to ask for it.
Have not been to a Whataburger in years. I'm in Texas for the week so I had to stop in. I'm glad I did. I got a Double Whataburger with jalapenos... and they had just pulled the onion rings from the fryer so they were hot and delicious. There are no Whataburger's in Utah so this was a nice treat for me. The restaurant was clean and the staff was both helpful and friendly.
I've been using the Whataburger app for about a month now. I can never go back to ordering with drive-thru or in the restaurant again. It's so easy, and the rewards are awesome. This will always be my favorite burger spot.
I have been to every Whataburger in Beaumont and this is the only one I’ve been to where they have FRESH hamburgers! The hamburgers actually come out HOT, like they’re supposed to! Other Whataburgers need to step up their game and follow in their lead! Great service and great food!
Enough said, the rest of the restaurants are not half as good as the other one. Props to the Lucas Whataburger Crew! You all ROCK!!!
Definitely worth the drive from west end (Phelan and Dowlen). These people know how to operate a Whataburger even at 2am. Get the orders right and keep the line moving. Hats off to you guys! Keep up the good work!

Every time we go there we are always treated so kindly and never do they have an attitude. That's a plus in my book.
I go to this Whataburger often. I think its the best in my area. They're fast and friendly with orders. They've never gotten my order wrong if they ever did then it didn't make an impact because I don't recall. I've used them for breakfast and lunch time even with a long line, service does move pretty quickly.
Classic Whataburger experience. The staff was helpful, patient, funny, and great with the kids. They were very accommodating to some special requests. Thank you so much! Keep up the good work 💪
Even problems with no electricity didn't stop the Dowlen crew. They joined the Lucas crew to handle the busy morning rush. We all appreciated hot food after a long night without electricity. Thanks for getting the job done!
Christmas shoppers were out so the place was busy. Still, the employees were courteous and got their orders out as quickly as possible. One problem, one of my favorites, onion rings, is no longer offered.
Our work team came in a few days in a row to use the restroom and grab a snack. The restrooms were always clean and Billy was the single most friendly human being I have ever met in my life.

Kim was extremely helpful and hospitable at the front counter. The food was phenomenal and definitely the best whataburger I've ever had! And I've been around to a few of them over the years. Their customer service is above anything I expected and I really just can't get over my experience. My husband and I are new to the area and will definitely be returning. Oh, and the bathrooms were very clean! Tip: Try the cinnamon rolls! They're amazing!
First slow Whataburger we have ever experienced. It took 29 minutes to get our food. Then it was RONG (so badly done, that you can't spell it correctly!) My wife ordered a spicy chicken sandwich and received a burger. It only took another 5 minutes... what the heck? Maybe they had to chase down the cow to make the burgers...
We went to whataburger on 6/22 at 1:50am, and the younger man with the braids in a ponytail at the window did a great job at keeping a great attitude while doing literally 500 things at once. Taking orders inside and on the drive through, bagging food, scooping fries, and on top of that some other guy was inside yelling about his food. And he still kept the same high energy, positive, respectfulness, and customer service. Wish I caught his name to put in the review and i really wish I would’ve had cash in my car to give him.
This is one of my favorite Whataburger locations from here to Dallas. 2nd only to Mr Kalvin Korner in Baytown Tx. Food and service always excellent!!!
The lady taking care of my order went out off her way to get my order right and also gave me extra mustard for my fries. Yes I said mustard for my fries you should try it.

This is my first time back in Texas in years, and this is the first Whatburger I've eaten at since being back. Fantastic experience! Hope and the other employees were so kind and fun to talk to and be around. Im really glad I got to eat at this one.
The sweetest and most outgoing lady helped me with my order. She was fun and friendly from the order spot to the window where she gave me my food. Normally people are okay, I get it, it's hot and they're working hard to satisfy, but she went beyond and made it fun! Very personable! Not customary for fast food, but I tipped her just because she was awesome!
Time was decent, a little slower compared to other Whataburgers I've been to but I see why I got the honey bbq chicken strip sandwich and it was amazing!! The bread was just right nice golden color. Chicken strips where crunchy on the outside and tender inside. Just the right amount of bbq sauce. Not under but not too much that your staining everything. Cheese was fully melted.
Today Oct 25, 2023, burger and fries perfect. I had a survey receipt and I filled it out. Purchase Medium Fries and Medium Drink, and The Whataburger is free. All just right. I will return No lemon pies only apple Burgers still fun to eat I will be back each week Whataburger was perfect and lemon fried pie super good.....service not perfect....but I will return. Was there this week. Feb 11 all good, food and service
Usually a decent experience overall. Sometimes it's better than others. I had an issue with an item being omitted from my order and contacted them online to detail my experience, but never received any management follow up, which was disappointing. Nevertheless, I'll still return to this location.
Edit: February 2024 Decided to give them another shot and they have improved dramatically. Friendly, much faster, and mostly accurate orders. I don't think this place should have a drive-thru. This is NOT fast food.

Food was good, but drive thru service at this location is always slow. They had me pull up to wait on my order, which still blocked the people behind me from exiting once they received their orders due to the narrow drive.
Okay, things are better, fresher faces and cheerful voices...but, here recently, there's hardly anyone in the drive thru. Sometimes, I'm first in line. It's never been like this as far as I can remember. Really strange...but, the food's better. 9/27/99 New Review. Ok, went again tonight, botched order again...ordered mayo, no mustard. Had them repeat order to me, and it was right. Got the order, and it was slathered with mustard...I'm done with this location, forever. Dowlen is always right. This will be my new whataburger from now on. It's a little farther away, but it's worth it. Lucas sux. My earlier review below still stands. Earlier review.... Hard for me to believe this location has a 4 star rating. I have been coming here since this store opened nearly 40 years ago, and it used to be great, but no longer. Recently my order is wrong 50% of the time, fries are barely warm, limp and greasy. 50% of the time they are out of unsweet tea. 100% of the time I have to repeat my drive thru order because they cannot repeat it back to me as I ordered. I just came from the college and 11th store, and it was flawless. Don't have to repeat my order, and they got it right, fries were just right, and I got what I ordered. I will drive the extra 10 miles round trip from now on, it's that much better.
Decided to go inside and order since the drive-thru has been taking longer than usual. This place needs to be deep cleaned something bad. The drink station was filthy. Sweet and kind manager though trying to rush to get my order out
I like this place but the food has gotten too expensive, I looked at my receipt and they charge for everything it's crazy $2.49 for bacon, 99 cent for cheese. Ima make my own burger for these prices. Im saying $30 bucks for 2 meals is alot. I know the workers need to be paid but geesh.
If your expecting to get a lid for your drink or a straw your in the wrong place. 3 different times I've been here in the last 2 weeks and still have none. Food is good and service is on point but nothing else.
The young man in charge of this store apparently was the only one or the clue about to get everyone's job done. The others at the counter and drive-thru seemed untrained. The food in my bag was not exactly what I ordered, but it was Whataburger delicious. Please management get this young man some help.
Overall the food was good. Staff made a slight mistake on the order but were able to fix it easily and apologized for the mistake.
I went through the drive thru to order a medium fry and dr.pepper. shouldn't have been a problem but when they took my 6.00 (crazy)for this and when he went to get my change I took a bite or cold greasy fry. told him to make me fresh fries he said yes ma'am and cooked me more and didn't take long. If you say your made to order then learn to do that it's your own fault it f you cook took much to "Get ahead " not mine. Food cist is something your manager needs more training on. So everyone check your orders before you leave and make them fix it as many times as you have to. Maybe then that manager will realize what they need to do.
Whataburger is hands-down the best fast-food burger joint in town, & drive-thru service seems to have improved recently. My main complaints are the French fries, which are so small/skinny now, they're basically potato crumbs! Also, staff have become VERY stingy with the condiments, to the point you have to ask for them, then ask for more when they only give you one (ketchup)! Finally, prices seem to be going up regularly, but that's everywhere, I guess?!!
For sure not fast food....the time it takes to get your order...you could spend less money at a sit down restaurant, and be there the same amount of time.

It is definitely not as they were before being bought into by that Chicago group. Taste like a burger from California to me, no real flavor. The people that work there are fabulous. The restaurant is clean. It's probably a good burger if you are not into old whataburger, style, and taste.
The soda machine was down, no ketchup was given when food brought. The food was ok thats why 2 stars customer support needs work. No soap in womens room.
We love Whataburger! We don't have one in our area so we love being able to get it when we can! From the beginning it was hard to hear the person at the drive thru and she asked up to keep repeating everytime we ordered something. Then we get to the window and waited for awhile its finally our turn and they still got our order wrong. We bring it back to our hotel and realized they gave us a wrong sandwich. Pretty disappointing considering we don't get it very often.
Not impressed. Waited in drive thru for 40 minutes. They majorly screwed up our order. Asked for onion rings over fries. Got the wrong burger. Food tasted “okay”. Wouldn’t come here again.
This was the worst whataburger we have ever been to. Our food was cold when we received it. And we ordered inside and our food was brought out to us, no reason for it to be cold. Then we paid more than we should because we were charged for the wrong meals. Thankfully my kids ate it anyway. But we will not be going back to this location.

Love the food chain but this one is the slowest one I have been to. Drive thru takes about 20 at non peak hours and longer at lunch, I have never been there for dinner hours. Staff is friendly though.
Customer service is terrible and the kids that work in this place don’t have a care in the world. The guys are walking around with their pants hanging off the behind, get a belt. Customer service training is needed at this store BAD !!!!!
Sat in the drive thru waiting to order at the speaker for 15 minutes. Was already an additional 15 minute wait to get to the speaker! Finally took my order. Ran out of onion rings! Left! Not going to give my hard earned money to a place like this!
Explained how I wanted my burger and after the cashier repeated it to me and she started putting it in on the register she had it wrong. Took it back and told her again how I wanted it and it was wrong again. After all the waiting I couldn't afford to wait for another remake (lunch break). I just picked it. To say it was busy the fries weren't fresh either.
This location rarely gets my order correct. Even the manager doesn't know what they're doing even though she assured me it would be correct. Service is typically horrible but the food comes out just like any other location, just don't expect it to be what you ordered.
Instead of giggling and fooling around at work... Maybe y'all should get my order right next time... When I say I want meat, cheese, and bacon only I didn't ask for lettuce, mustard, tomato, and a ton of onions on it...
Always get charged but forget to add in our extra strip and add our large fry that we paid for, happens too many times, yall need to read yalls order before making them.
Those cooking and the apparent manager were hard working and kept things rolling quickly. The ones taking the orders, were taking their own sweet time, not friendly and gave the impression that they would rather be somewhere else other than there working. Won't go again... Too many other lunch options.
Asked for extra regular ketchup got spicy instead asked for a large bun got Texas toast instead I work at Whataburger in my town and I would get a write up so fast with these mistakes management needs to do better will not be coming back.

Has to be the special Ed of all whataburgers! 2 cars in the drive thru, im the 2nd car...and took 32 min to get my food....and guess what...it was wrong as well as the car in front of me who's order was also wrong.
My family and I came to this Whataburger today through the drive through and waited at least 10 minutes, they ask us to pull forward and we waited another at least 10 minutes. We got our food and it was so terrible, everything was covered in grease and my son and I have had upset stomachs ever since.
Nothing but a bunch of rude disrespectful kids working here. Waiting 45 minutes with my 1 year old son for my online order to find out it had been ready the whole time and they never checked. Horrible attitudes at this location. Definitely will not be back.
Apparently regular ketchup means load the bag with nothing but spicey and don't give a straw for the drinks. While ordering they kept interrupting me and telling me the total. Had to tell the guy 3 different times I'm not done ordering. When we finally arrived at the window he was standoffish and rude. Will be driving farther to another location before going to the rat hole on lucas.
Dont even deserve one start. No gloves in the back on prep line. I seen the drive threw person get from the bathroom and NOT WASH HER HANDS WHEN REQIRED TO DO SO IN THE REST ROOM AND IN THE BACK SHE JUST RETURNED TO WORK! the fry person was eatting fries from the pan she just salted. There was only one white girl working and the lady in the back was being racists with her and had a horibble attitude while the maniger john stood there and did not say anything!! Before i got my tea from the tea holder i checked to make sure the nosel was clean with a napkin and i got a black chunck of mold told the maniger and he didnt even take it off the floor!! Im turning this in to the health department this location needs to be shut down before someone gets really sick and ends up hurt!! I will never visit whataburger again!!
They think everyone's an informant they will put poison in your food. They have ruined the establishment. Close it down. Nothing but crickets and complaints.
No wait in placing my order, but requested a #5 without cheese, dry with bacon. Waited at the window for seven minutes and noticed the line had backed up past the order location when I finally got my burger. After I dropped my grandson off, he called to inform me that cheese was included on his burger. I was headed to south side of town & didn't want to return to get the order straight. I will not visit that location again.
11/25/17, My wife and I went to the drive thru. We were asked to hold twice. Finally after waiting more than 10 minutes and hadn't for our order taken, we went in side (there was only one customer at the counter). After about 5 minutes of stranding there we have our order (to go). After about 30 minutes we got our order and left. Get home and all the food tasted Blaine. I give them a negative 7, cause the chocolate milk shake was good..
so im wondering what fast food service place hires terrible people ? My cashier was amazing she was nice, sweet, and easily fixed my drink with no problem. The manager that was on duty was rude , inconsiderate, and had the worst attitude. I will not be coming back here again. Thank you
We are visiting the city of Beaumont and I chose to try ordering from Whataburger on East Lucas..total mistake..I hate buying food only to throw it away..poor quality, off tasting Coke, got a burger with just meat, bread, and mayo...instead of what I ordered..spent almost $30...I called the manager who said he strived to give fresh orders and apologized..didn't receive a receipt...and the young lady taking the order was rude and not knowledgeable in taking order request. There needs to be more training and management checking on operations..still hungry..
Management is incompetent is a understatement. I have paid for food time and time again and don’t receive it. So theft is acceptable at this location. The rudeness of the staff is mind boggling… like how has corporate allowed this for so long from a franchise location. Needs resolve asap!
We decided to visit what burger and had a bad experience. The whataburger had no cheese, as requested. Plus it also came with a piece of plastic in it. My wife's 3 piece chicken strip combo did not come with the country gravy requested. This whole experience was a nightmare. They need better workers. Who care and love their job.
Trash place. Bad service, Bad food, and you can tell they don't care. I've never got any food right here any time I've gone. Go to the other one across town. Trust me, it will save you a headache.
Never in my life have I suffered through such terrible customer service at a restaurant. First of all, we were charged double for our order. Then the order came and instead of receiving a burger without mustard like I had asked, I was given a bun, a patty, and mustard. I cannot comprehend how one could ruin an order so badly. On top of all of this, the lady who checked us out must never change her gloves because our drink cups came complete with a crusty film. They were also out of ketchup and forks. We left wholly disgusted and disappointed.
Horrible! Food took forever because workers were just standing around. Order was wrong and served with an attitude. I handed back uncovered fries with my bare hands that had been in my car (at the employees request when I told her they were supposed to be Onion Rings) and was horrified to watch her pour them back into the batch to serve to the next person. Food tasted like it was fried in old grease and then hastily thrown together. Stay away from this Restaruant. $23 in the trash!

waited for 35 mins for our meal. got it wrong the first time and said it was our fault. and we weren't the only ones. idk why they have 4 stars. the workers here make whataburger look bad. we called and the man tried arguing with us on the phone when we called. telling us it was our fault our order was wrong bc we had to add food at the window, even tho what we added was the first thing we said. worst customer service ever.
I have been sitting in the drive thru for 20 minutes and no one has taken our order. We decide to leave and you have to stay in line. Now sitting beside a vehicle the hand them the food and 10 minutes later still sitting here. Do not come to this whataburger if you want to eat. If you just want a place to sit and wait....
The good part was the name. Burger was cold, cheese did not melt on supposedly just cooked meat. Ask for meal to eat in dinning room, was served in to go bags. In my burger I got the heart of the lettuce and the burger was pressed down to a one inch thick burger. I am only talking about this one what abuser not all.
If i could rate this place at 0 stars i would. I had the worst experience... They didn't want to make my order the way i wanted it. Which was simple, i just wanted cheese, avocado, and jalapenos on my eggs. They kept putting different people on the speaker to take my order. I wanted a breakfast platter with no potatoes and instead of a biscuit, i wanted extra eggs. They said that they could not replace my biscuit with extra eggs. So i had to order a "side" of eggs, which is weird because every other whataburger has done it with no hesitation. So after i get to the window and they give me my food. I pay 15.00. I get up the freeway, heading to work, only to find out that i had received potatoes and a biscuit and my side of eggs were in a smaaaaaall styrofoam container. Wouldn't it just have been easier to put extra eggs and sausage all in one plate? 👀 They overcharged me and gave me NOTHING that i asked for... No avocado, no cheese, no jalapenos!!! Never again.
I have literally waited over 30 minutes because they keep bringing out the wrong order. 2 people behind me got there order before me. If I wouldn't have paid already I would have done left.
Cashier got my order wrong, but I’m use to it at this location. Asked for a correction (willing to pay for it), the cashier is questioning me like I made a mistake, and walked away from the window with no confirmation that I’d be able to pay and get what I ordered. I should have started my day at a location that doesn’t treat their customers like trash.
They were shirt handed and the the lady that took order was trying discourage us from ordering. At the beginning of her taking the order she said it would be 10 minutes . We said we'll wait . Soon as she took order she said it would be 20 Minutes and would we want to go forward with the order. And after all the time we waited the fries and burger was cold . And cup was filled more with ice than soda . It was a horrible experience.
We were passing through Beaumont and decided to stop here.. first of all, it took them a minute to answer at the drive thru then once we placed the order, the young lady took my payment then we sat for 15 minutes before we got our order. We checked that everything was in the bag. However once we got on the road and started eating I turned the car light because my chicken strip tasted funny. It was COMPLETELY UNCOOKED inside! I thought maybe 1 strip but no all 3 were that way! My son's burger was not cooked the way we requested either.. it was horrible and the service wasnt great either! Never stopping there again!!
Worst drive-thru service ever at this location. Cashier dropped my money then closed the window with not attempt to resolve or apologize leaving my change that she spilled on the ground. After getting most but not all of it she then handed my order and when I suggested that she should give the loose change first then the bills, she said that they don't train them to give the change that way and that this rarely happens. I told her that's not true because the drive-thru lane has plenty of loose change on it. She then slammed the window in my face rolled her eyes and walked away. We won't be visiting this store again. Obviously management allows this behavior.
Never go here!!!! I've been to this location serveral times get worse each visit. In the morning I've got under cooked cheddar jalapeno biscuits and when I've order extra bacon you would think I had asked them to remove it. The last time tonight I got a salad with no salad dressing utensils or napkins. The employees are right rude lazy and above all unprofessional. I spoke to Alize on my way out of the drive thru who said she was the manager on duty I explained my issues she hung up on me. Can we hirer a staff who wants to do the job they are getting paid for please. With a recession and prices on the rise they should count their self lucky to have a job with their attitudes. While ordinarily good, today was horrible. People who don’t seem to know what’s going on for the most part, and the worst service I’ve ever received from this location. Three people who came in after me, all received their orders before me. The (presumed) manager was telling a customer they had to place their order online to use the coupon. False. I know, because didn’t. Took 20 minutes to get my order, which turned out had been sitting on the shelf for 15 of those minutes. Should have gotten it remade, but didn’t think they would be able to get it done right.
Lady taking orders have a nasty attitude when I was placing my order. She then escalated her tone very high pitch when asking what type of drinks they had, there was no list of drinks in their drive thru menu. Do not recommend. Very ghetto. I called the manager and she also hung the phone up in my face.

I ordered $27 worth of food just to get home and the whole order to be wrong. How hard is it to make a burger right?
The only good thing I have to say is that the manager who had to pull the girl working the window back in the window from attacking us over the food being cold stopped her and remade our order for now the 3rd time because they forgot cheese and refunded us our money...i won't ever go back there and neither will my family

As if the line in drive thru wasn’t long enough, they messed up my order so I just went inside to get them to fix it. There were already 4 other people also inside to get their screwed up orders fixed.
I have been eating at this WAB since moving to Texas. I have never been presented cold food or half an order of anything. I understand due to the corona pandemic the drive-through line is usually a long wait, but I still want my order hot and prepared to size specifications when I receive it at the window.
Worst whataburger ever. Never coming back. Took AGES to get our food (we were the only ones in the drive thru...) and then they couldn't even get the order right. Asked for a medium onion ring, put in correctly by the cashier, but ended up with a large fry. The cashier was clearly new, but even she got it right! Also, got a USED cup from someone who loves lipstick.
