Everything from start to finish was delicious. The bread was light and fluffy on the inside with a nice crispy outer shell. The Ahi tuna stack was full of vibrant citrus that melded perfectly with the avocado and fish. My steak was cooked perfectly, and the crab cake was impeccable and topping it all off with the banana's foster was one of the best choices I've made at a restaurant in a long time. The entire experience was wonderful except for one thing; this place is LOUD. We were told we were lucky to be seated in the "quiet" part of the dining room, but it was far from quiet and did bring down the experience. It won't stop us from coming back but don't expect to be able to have a conversation without raised voices while your visiting.

We went for Valentine’s Day dinner and had the filet and shrimp with the salad bar and bananas foster for desert. The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The shrimp were big, juicy and just perfect. I loved the salad bar, and they prepared the desert table side, and it was AWESOME! We will definitely be back.

Reservations were easy. The entire experience was an absolute pleasure. The food was EXCELLENT. Our waiter was kind, patient and courteous. Due to our seating area, we couldn't help but notice how well the staff coordinated with each other and several of them stopped by to see if we needed anything. The ambience was fantastic.

We came to Sperry’s the night before we got engaged and had such a beautiful memorable meal! Our server was so welcoming and attentive. The food was beautiful and we loved the salad! The restaurant was super busy and bustling - a local favourite, which was nice to come across as a tourist! This review was made in connection with a toast promotion.

We went specifically for the king crab legs, and they did not disappoint. Usually King Crab is either small or just feels "old". This was neither. Some of the best king crab I've had outside of Alaska. The crab cakes were also great. Great texture (lump crab) and great flavor. The salad bar was nice with a decent amount of options. Everything else was just good, not amazing. The restaurant itself was an older style, and it felt a little cramped inside. I especially noticed when going to and from said salad bar.

Everything was outstanding from the warm welcoming as we entered to the sincerely delivered “thank you for coming” as we left, could not have been better. It was a fantastic dining experience, our server “Uncle Joe” was a true professional who, along with the entire server team proved to be well trained in guest satisfaction. Obviously, those attributes only enhanced the meticulously prepared food which tasted amazing (compliments to the Chef/kitchen crew). We live in Florida but will certainly make another dining experience here on our next trip to Nashville. Thank you to the entire staff for exceeding our expectations and providing a memorable evening for my wife and me!

Great for special occasions. Salad bar is super basic but good. Service is great and plenty of parking.

Amazing service! Food was great. Atmosphere is lovey. Pricey but classy.

We had an amazing dinner for my birthday, food and service were phenomenal. I don’t typically drink California wine but the Sperry’s Cabernet was very good and a good price for a bottle as well. Can’t wait to return and found a new spot to purchase gift cards for gifts.

Valentine's dinner was great. First time there and will definitely be back.

Wonderful dinner. Close to, if not the best prime rib I've ever had. Their bananas foster is now my favorite dessert. John was the perfect server for us. My only complaint is that the atmosphere was a little loud for what I was expecting, but it did not ruin the dining experience. Worth every penny spent. Highly recommend

Good service, delicous food, and nice waiter! My favorite part was the dessert the toffee thingy loveeed that it was so soft and just absolutely delicious. Photos don’t do justice but the prices are way cheaper in person, loved it!

Went for the quintessential Sperrys experience and we got it. You know what you are getting before you go. It’s old school luxury and excellent service. We went on Valentines and enjoyed the prime rib, wedge, snow crab and crab cakes. Everything was great and Bryan (I think) was wonderful.

After hearing about Sperry’s daily on 102.5 ads since moving to Nashville 13 years ago, we finally made the visit for a birthday celebration. Why did we wait so long?! Everything was just as we hoped from the excellent service, delicious salad bar, quality steaks, and mouthwatering desserts. You will need a reservation and be mindful of the dress code. We will definitely be back soon!

Amazing birthday experience! Food was excellent (I had the 8oz filet mignon), everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The desserts were of the best we’ve had while dining out (our table ordered the carrot cake and the espresso brownie). Scott, our sever, was phenomenal. He was very attentive, explained everything on the menu well, and gave great recommendations. The host even came by and took our picture and printed it there. This was our first dining experience here with many more to come!

My initial thought was racial division but the staff treated us cordially and welcoming. Our server Caleb was awesome! He was informative and friendly. The food was good and the portions are worth the price. The wine selection is plentiful, the in person menu has more variety than what I saw online. The fish and grits were my favorite. This restaurant puts me in the mind of professionals enjoying dinner and a cocktail after work.

What a meal! Old school food executed impeccably. We came to celebrate two birthdays and everyone left happy. All the food was excellent but please don’t skip the crab cake or the bananas foster; both are special! Do also get a side of steak sauce: a unique, sweet umami bomb. Our waitress, Chrissy, was exactly what you want in a server: thoughtful, knowledgeable, guiding us in our ordering to ensure we all left satisfied. She was personable and fun, genuinely enhancing our celebratory mood. I get that novelty gets you on “must eat” lists, but if I ever come to Nashville again, Sperry is where I’m eating!

Best restaurant in Nashville! Food was excellent, prices are so reasonable, portions are HUGE, salad bar included with entree! Brie, our server was AWESOME! Thx for making my 60th birthday 🎈🎂 awesome!

If you’re looking for top notch service and phenomenal food, look no further. I started off with the Sperry’s wedge salad, which is fantastic followed by the 14oz Ribeye, (blackened) and Pittsburg style. The ribeye was so flavorful and delicious. My sides were garlic whipped mash potatoes and grilled asparagus (highly recommended). Then the desert I ordered the toffee pudding (I am not a toffee fan but this WAS AMAZING). trust me, get it. Also big shout out to Bryan our sever, he provided excellence service. Thank you!

Fantastic. First visit was for a birthday and the service (thank you, John!) and attention to detail was outstanding. Shrimp & grits and steak frites were equally amazing. Make a reservation in advance! Will be back soon to try the Bananas Foster!

The best prime rib I've ever had in my life. The assistant manager was very helpful with stories and history of the restaurant, will definitely recommend it to friends and do it again.

We really enjoyed this. Our server was great, the food was very good, and we really enjoyed to ambiance. I've been told it's essentially a staple in the Belle Meade area, and I can see why. My wife had steak and seafood and was quite happy with both. My burger was great as well, and the salad bar was also good. . That being said, it was really the bananas foster that was amazing. A must do if you're on date night.

Our server Julie was perfect. The food was perfect. This was one of the best meals I've ever had, and I make it a point to try out some of the best restaurants in any city I travel to. I had the Filet Oskar and the Bananas Foster for dessert. Each time you take those first few bites of both meals, your body stops all other functions except for chewing and processing how flavorful and delicious the food is. The rest of my party shared similar sentiments, as well. All three meals and our server were nothing short of perfection. Kudos to the bartender for the well-balanced Vodka and Club Sodas that helped me wash down this meal, as well!

Such a fun experience! Scott was an amazing waiter who made the maiden voyage one worth replicating eagerly. The salad bar and filet tips were amazing. Of course you have to end the night with carrot cake! There is no other way. It is a truth. A fact. An imperative.

Not surprised that this amazing steakhouse has been in business since 1974, just disappointed we didn’t find it sooner! Loved the warm atmosphere. They even had Halloween decorations. Everything on the salad bar was extremely fresh. Chopped steak, one of my personal favorites, was wrapped in bacon and one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Everything was really good. I thought the food would be heavy but it was so light. All of our food came out hot. No complaints other than my daughter ordered smoked salmon and it was served cold, we didn't know. She ended up switching it out for a burger and fries. I only have 1 recommendation please let customers know what is a hot or cold dish because its not noted on the menu. Also try the Carrot Cake is so delicious and rich. I couldn't eat it all there. Overall they still get 5 stars! We will be back..

First time for a Thanksgiving dinner out. Sperry's NAILED IT. Two had traditional turkey dinner, one had the bone-in Ribeye. All were delicious! Our server Kelly was amazing - attentive and friendly. Our bartender was also wonderful. I think Thanksgiving dinner at Sperry's might become a new tradition!

J

5 star everything! The drinks, salad, crab cakes, filet, dessert, server (Rachel), TOP NOTCH, top to bottom. The only steak (mid rare) and cake that I have ever had served HOT to the table but not overcooked. My husband and I both agreed, maybe the best steak meal we have ever had.

M

The wife and I eat here several times a year and love it. It's like walking through a door and stepping back into the early 80s ambiance wise. From the decorations, the carpet, the vibe itself... seriously, you feel like your in the late 70s to early 80s. ANNNNNNNND they have a dress code posted on the front door BEFORE you walk in. So few restaurants in Nashville do this anymore and we love it. The Shrimp and grits appetizer is our "go to" appetizer. The wife loves the crab cakes. And the Banana's Foster dessert is phenomenal. If you have never had it, I don't wanna spoil it. Just order it. You'll thank me

Awesome all the way around. Food was only surpassed by the service. This was our first time at Sperry's but it will not be our last. My prime rib was wonderful, my wife had lobster and we shared a crap cake, all fantastic. Wonderful fresh salad bar. Service was outstanding . Atmosphere was great, a little nosey but great.

First time visiting this restaurant. It was amazing! We took family out for dinner who were visiting from out of town and they absolutely loved it as well. I had the chicken breast with mushroom sauce, which was perfectly prepared and delicious. My dinner partners had the salmon, filet minion with shrimp, and pork chop, all with rave reviews! I very highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a good idea to have a reservation, unless you arrive at 4:00pm when they open. We were seated quickly and well attended to, making it to the Cheekwood Estate in plenty of time for our 6:00 pm visit.

Best experience we’ve had at Sperry’s. We normally go to the Cool Springs location but tried Belle Meade for Thanksgiving. The excellent customer service from your hostesses when making reservations to checking in at the restaurant was phenomenal!! Haven’t had such great service in many years!! Great attitudes and willingness to help!! The rest of the team did an excellent job especially handling the volume for thanksgiving and worked flawlessly and tirelessly as a team to make sure everyone was taken care of!! Service and food were excellent!!! We will be back!!!

Sperrys was delicious as usual. Our prime rib and filet were fantastic and perfectly cooked. The salad bar was refreshing, the drinks were excellently mixed, and the creme brulet was the best I've ever had. Our service was superb as always and I'm sure we will be back soon.

My mother and I had a great experience and delicious meal for Thanksgiving. We were able to order off the regular menu or eat a Turkey dinner. It’s been years since I’ve been there, and it was worth the visit. That speaks to the many decades that Sperrys has been around. Our waiter, Andrew, was attentive, informative, and pleasant/professional. Look forward to going back.

First time eating here. It was my wife's 40th birthday and we're so happy we chose to dine here based on a ton of recommendations from folks. We're so thankful we did. Service and food were both top notch. We will be back for sure!

We love Sperry's in Belle Meade. The salad bar. The steaks. Everything is perfect everytime. My family have been going there since the early 80's. Still the best!

Ask for Scott, he was a wonderful waiter! He made us feel very welcomed and was super accommodating- although we did not need anything special, but he offered”we can make it happen” which was great! We had the filet, Caesar salad, creamed spinach and loaded grits…. I forgot to take pictures of the entree and sides because we dove in to eat quickly! Then for dessert, we ordered the espresso brownie which came a la mode. We also got the carrot cake for our celebration. All I can say is whoa…. Even if you do NOT eat carrot cake, you would seriously enjoy this one. It was incredible. The hostess was very accommodating as well. Drinks and wine were a bit overpriced, the bottle of wine we chose was $80. Fyi. It was a special occasion so we weren’t really concerned with prices. I would recommend!!!!

Everything was really great. We did have a 7 o’clock reservation. We didn’t get set until 715. I didn’t take them a little while to take our order but besides that everything else was wonderful.

This is clearly a historical restaurant that makes of tradition its main selling point, and they do a great job at it. From the dress code to the waiter's style, everything feels like you're in the 1930s or 40s. The salad bar is fun, and if you like dressings you're going to have a great time. The Sperry's Secret Sauce is incredible, kind of a play on a thickened au jus. The main reason for downgrading them on food is that they overcooked my steak. I had the steak frites (tenderloin tails) and asked for medium rare. Once they came, only one of the three pieces was even remotely pink, the other two were solid brown. That's just not ok for a steakhouse, where attention to meat should be their number one priority. Moral of the story: if you're going for the aesthetics, it's great; as a steakhouse, there's much better options.

Here's a review you could leave for Sperry’s in Belle Meade: --- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Sperry’s in Belle Meade is the perfect spot for a cozy night out! The ambiance is fantastic, with beautiful fireplaces that create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you're on a date or out with friends, it’s a great setting. The seafood and steak options are top-notch. I especially love the variety of dishes to choose from, and the service is always friendly and attentive. Definitely a go-to for a special evening!

My boyfriend and I dined last night for the first time. We had a lovely experience! Our server Jeffery was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, funny and gave us time to chat and catch up while still pacing the meal out so that we never felt rushed. We will be back for both the banana’s foster and the salad bar!

Nice restaurant atmosphere! The manager was phenomenal ensuring my teen had something she liked since the salmon and cheeseburger had a lot to be desired. My lobster mac and cheese was bland as well but the steak was phenomenal and made up for it. The carrot cake was great and a nice treat I took home for later.

The service at Sperry's is very kind and welcoming. The restaurant was so cozy and vibrant with many happy, loyal customers. However, I have to say, though the flavor of my prime rib was good, I had to really tear at it with my knife as it was not the most tender steak and had a long inedible tendon... The whipped potatoes could have been much creamier and more decadent. The bread was very plain. The ceasar salad was pale and limp with bland dressing, and the croutons could use a little more olive oil and cracked pepper. The broccoli was steamed like unseasoned diet food but still nice and green, and the unusable side sauce had an odd taste. Seasoning was a bit light across the board, but obviously easy on the blood pressure, 😉. On a better note, the crab cakes were lovely, and the greens they were served with had a nice acidic punch; this dish was nearing our expectations yet a bit chewy along the bottom and a little more "cake" would moisten this mostly crab cake. The smoked salmon appetizer was delicate and tender with just the right smoke level and a nice light caper sauce, but the cold, starchy white toast points didn't live up to the dish. The chicken was still moist and fine, and though I like just about any chicken skin, the diner wasn't a fan of the wet, flaccid skin under the sauce. Maybe a ribeye and baked potato next time? Overall, the food was...ok. With such a comfortable space and great staff, we were hoping for a bit more stand-out food to complete the experience. Sperry's was not overpriced, though it is surprising that Darfon's restaurant in our area of Donelson is even less expensive and kind of been knocking it out of the park on similar food comparatively as of late. Thank you for the good vibes and great service! 💕

We went to Sperrys for the first time last night and were disappointed. While the food was decent, there was nothing to write home about. Average steaks and above average bananas foster (table side so that was a bit fun at least). However, the service was suboptimal. Don’t come in expecting quick, friendly service as it is slow all around. The waiter seemed to have too many tasks (refilling water, serving foods, providing bread, doing the table side bananas foster) in addition to usual checking on us and taking orders. We had to ask for bread twice, and when it finally came (30 minutes in), our salads and plates for the bread were already bussed away, so we had no plates left. I almost felt bad ordering the bananas foster knowing it would slow down other peoples service while they waiting for our waiter to serve this. The waiter was also very dry, and the room with the bar so loud I could barely hear our conversation. Definitely not an inviting space. I feel like for the nice restaurant it is, I would expect more people able to help and provide service. With the amount of steakhouses around, I find it hard to imagine I will make it back here.

We have been dining at Sperry's for almost 25 years...Birthdays, anniversaries, snow days, happy hours. Did you know that the only day Sperry's is closed is the Super Bowl Sunday? They have always been the go-to staple in Belle Meade for an excellent steak, a great, friendly staff, and a top-notch martini! Tonight, however, when we arrived, we were rudely told we could not enter, even the bar area, because someone in our party was wearing a hat. What? So much for the Christmas "Eve eve" celebration we usually do. I can only presume that Sperry's is under new management, very poor management. Thankfully, the staff at Etc. in Green Hills welcomed us with open arms. I am so saddened. It was a good run Sperry's Belle Meade.

John Cunningham

We headed out to Sperry's based on a recommendation of a friend of a friend.Though we tried making reservations almost a week in advance, the availability was limited even for a Thursday night. We took a 8pm reservation even though we would have preferred it to be earlier. We arrived early hoping maybe we could get a table a little bit sooner than our reservation. We arrived about 20 mins early and we were immediately impressed by the historic vibe of the waiting area. We advised the host of our arrival and advised we were aware we were early but he pleasantly said he would see what he could do. It was now a couple minutes after 8 so we assumed we would be seated quickly thereafter. That didn't happen as once again the waiting area filled with more hungry patrons. Were were getting dismayed as we saw several parties of 4 depart the dining area and leave. About 825 we were starting to grumble as it was evident many parties of 4 who arrived after us and after 8 were being seated. We asked the host why the long wait and he advised they "forgot about us". The host also said he would send the manager over to speak with us. After waiting another short while the manager(I think) came out and only spoke to our wives. He apologized and said he understood there was a mix up and we had a short wait. He advised we would be seated next and he would be offering us a appetizer or dessert for the short delay. We were situated at a small table placed up against a cold stone fireplace. We were sure if it was a fireplace that was operational but it wasn't this evening and the table was butted up against it. The fireplace was very drafty and as stated it was stone. My wife asked to switch seats with me as it was very uncomfortably cold. The manager stated he would start us off wit complementary shrimp cocktail due to our short delay. Not sure how to explain this but the manager almost seemed annoyed and dismissive of our irritation of how we had to wait due to the staff "forgetting about us". Not sure if it was a server or bus boy who brought over the shrimp cocktail but it was just placed on the table. It was a gesture I guess but only 2 of our party actually eat seafood so it was as I said some gesture. We placed our order and upon getting our drinks our food order was placed. The server recommended the prime rib to one of the members of our party who was trying to decide between two steaks. We toasted our birthday celebration but the drinks weren't exactly as ordered. Not wanted to complain further we just drank the drinks as they were presented. When the food arrived we each asked how each other's food was, the recommended Prime Rib arrived cold and we were advised it was very bland. Our other orders of Trout was described as ok, however the center cut filet was very good. The garlic whipped potatoes however was also on the cold side and not whipped very well as they were very lumpy. We ate rather quickly as this was not the experience we thought we would have. No second round of drinks just finished up with dinner. The server then advised that as it was a birthday celebration we could choose one of 4 desserts. She also advised that the manager told her the table could also request 1 complimentary dessert. I advised that as it was my birthday I would have the vanilla ice cream. The table not exactly thrilled chose a pudding dessert. The server brought back the pudding but not the ice cream. When we inquired about that she indicated she didn't hear the ice cream being ordered! We paid the bill and left after picking at the desert. As we were leaving there wasn't another party dining on our entire side of the restaurant. I would like to say that we were given exceptional service being as they restaurant was not longer very busy....but that clearly wasn't the case. Bottom line is we felt out of place and not very welcomed and almost like a burden to the staff. To bad as the place has a wonderful charm to it.

Place is a scam. Way way unjustifiably over priced food for same quality as anywhere else its not high end clean food. It's 50 bucks a person at least for mediocre food. Bunch of hype. Typical restaurant that cons u into thinking ur getting good quality worth the price and it's literally a hormone filled piece of fatty meat with salty fatty gravy on top with fries the size of a tooth pick for 50 bucks. Then their so called featured dessert is literally a few scoops of ice cream with a few pieces of banana and brown sugar. For over 20 bucks. Wat a joke.
