Was staying at the Courtyard Marriott for work and stopped in for dinner. I had a Steak and wedge salad. It came with a delicious zucchini and squash in a tomato based sauce. Steak was unreal, cooked perfectly and seasoned and presented very well. Wedge salad with Bluecheese and balsamic reduction was a nice touch. Excellent meal and very cool feeling like stepping back into the 40's. Used to be a bank. Live music was really good too. Class place.
Cole was an excellent server!!! The food was absolutely perfect. There was a swordfish that had a nice surprise... up under it and the mashed potatoes were pickled carrots that were really great and complimented the entire meal!! And then there was the fried pecan pie!!! So good!!!!
This was my second visit to Gannon’s as my first immediately set the bar incredibly high. I started with the tuna tartare, which was absolutely flawless fresh, beautifully balanced, and thoughtfully plated. Every bite was clean, bright, and intentional. I paired it with the Charlie Chaplin cocktail, which was equally impressive. Smooth, complex, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. You can tell the bar program here is taken seriously. Between the food, the cocktails, and the atmosphere, Gannon’s feels elevated without being pretentious. Everything was executed with care and confidence. I left already planning my next visit which says everything.
My lovely bride brought me here for my birthday and it was spectacular! The prime rib and New York strip were done to perfection! Chef Gannon must only source beef from happy cows!! A MUST try is the Turtle Soup, it is divine! Our server, Brian, was knowledgeable, helpful, and very attentive! Throughout the wonderful meal we were very impressed by the live piano and accompanying bass and drums. We did not feel rushed in the slightest and really enjoyed ourselves! Thank you to Chef Gannon, Brian, and the wonderful staff for making my birthday dinner unforgettable! We will be back!
Gannon’s Nashville is an absolute gem. I started my dinner with the wedge salad, perfectly crisp, creamy, and packed with flavor. The BBQ shrimp linguine was pure comfort food, rich and satisfying without being heavy. The quality of the food is truly superb, and the wine line is extensive. The elegant dining space, elevated by smooth jazz music, creates such a warm, refined atmosphere. On top of it all, the service was excellent... attentive without being intrusive. Can’t wait to return!
This was a welcomed surprise. I don’t usually eat buffets but my husband wanted breakfast and we didn’t want to go out so we ate here for breakfast. The food was soooooo good….especially that potato casserole! It was everything! We didn’t have to put seasonings or hot sauce on anything! The coffee was horrible but I assuming it’s because it wasn’t Community coffee❤️ but tbh they don’t lose points for that because they have a Starbucks on site☕️ Matt was our waiter and he was great the entire time! We also got drinks at the bar the night before and they were GREAT! The black guy made and our drinks made didn’t miss at all! He was very personable, friendly, and down to earth! He gave us ideas of digger places to visit while we were in town so that was nice!
Absolutely incredible experience at Gannon’s Nashville. I had the filet cooked medium rare with mashed potatoes, ratatouille vegetables, and roasted garlic, cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor. The espresso martini was to die for. Add in the live piano music and the whole place gives off major Great Gatsby vibes: classy, intimate, and timeless. Amazing food, atmosphere, and execution. Can’t wait to come back.
This was one of the Absolute BEST Experiences I have had at a restaurant, We were greeted at Stand very friendly and asked how close we wanted to be seated to the live music. We sat in the middle of restaurant and really enjoyed the Ambiance and music but it was not overwhelming at all. All 4 servers who helped us during our time were wonderfully nice to me and my wife. We were recommended all 4 courses of some of the most delicious food I have ever seen and eaten. I live in Nashville area and We Will Go here Everytime possible now. SOOOOOOO GLAD WE FOUND GANNONS. This was our Anniversary dinner and we could not be more grateful 🙏 ❤️
What a wonderful meal! First, Gannons is in a huge room with a very high ceiling, band playing at one end, bar along the side, very spacious. We started with the Eggplant Olivia. Delicious! My wife had the fish of the day, which came with shrimp and a very nice sauce, understated but with excellent flavor. I had the chicken piccata. The chicken was perfectly done, tender, and with bright herbal flavors. Amazing. We ended splitting the fried pecan pie, which was a wonder in itself. Altogether a delightful meal. Our server, Cole, was knowledgeable and helpful, but also did that shimmer in and shimmer out thing where we did not know he was there. Outstanding dinner experience.
Great experience and delicious food. Honestly, upon arrival we were disappointed to find it was in a hotel. I think everyone in our group of seven said “Oh, it’s in a Marriott?” And as soon as everyone walked into the restaurant there was a collective sigh of relief followed by an “ok! This place is legit.” There was a great bar, a live band, and they had the football and baseball games on. Our server was great. She made sure our glasses were always full and just really took care of us. Most everyone got the prime rib and no one complained. I got the pork chop and it was incredible. One of the best I’ve ever had. The Brussels sprouts were good too, as was the burrata. The Caesar salad and meatballs were also great. Dessert stole the show though. Cheesecake was great but the fried pecan pie was what had us all floored. Give it a shot!
Not sure how to judge atmosphere. Ended up eating here last Sunday and I had been here before and thought I did a review but I did not. The food and drinks are good and the steaks are relatively cheap compared to out west. I gave it four stars because I ordered fish and it came with shrimp(s) on top but the fish was small for my liking and the bartender at my hotel was saying how good the lobster bisque is and it was great but it didn't have much lobster in it. I was in the Navy on a submarine and we had seafood bisque once and it was full of meat, so all bisque are judged by that one and yes, it was good. Submarine food used to be good back in the 90s.
My family and I had the pleasure of celebrating Mother's Day dinner at Gannon's Nashville, and the experience exceeded our expectations. The food was exceptional, and the service was truly outstanding. The manager personally checked in at our table to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, and the owner took the time to introduce himself, adding a warm and personal touch that made us feel genuinely valued. Our server was attentive and professional, and the host was incredibly welcoming and kind. Live music was pleasant. If you haven't yet visited Gannon's, do yourself a favor—make a reservation and experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
We were in Nashville in October and were trying to find last minute reservations. This place happened to be open and was right next to where we were staying, since it is located in the Marriott. We were seated quickly and our food came out fast, which was a huge plus after a long day.. Everything each of us ordered was amazing. I wish I could remember our waiter’s name because he truly stood out. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. I only docked one star for atmosphere because it was a bit chilly inside, but even then, our waiter covered the vents and brought us a lap blanket, which honestly says everything about the level of service. Between the food, the service, and the overall experience, we had a great night and would absolutely go back.
My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary at Gannons. Our reservation was for 6:15. We arrived early and were seated immediately. The table had a Happy Anniversary sign waiting for us. We started with a Wedge salad. I had the filet with potatoes and vegetables. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. My wife had the Prime Rib with vegetables. We finished with the Deep fried Pecan Pie. Everything was delicious. The service was outstanding including serving us 2 glasses of champagne to celebrate. We had an outstanding experience!
Wow! You will find a beautiful space to enjoy a drink and bites. Fantastic use of a former banking hall. Extensive wine list in this whiskey town. Nice jazz music. Great for groups or an intimate dinner for two.
THE RISOTTO WAS SO GOOD. The truffle, the cheese, the mushrooms, everything about it was delish. I recommend asking for less salt as the dishes were a little too salty for my liking but it was still great. Definitely recommend the risotto and creme bulee. Great server and the piano was amazing. Tuna tarture was also great. Love the appetizers so much!!
Wonderful experience, met Chef Gannon walking in to find out we are from same area, the Gulf Coast with ties to New Orleans and you can taste it in the food! We had dinner starting with the amazing Duck Empanadas with the yummy poblano sauce, the ceviche was fresh and tasty. Dinner was swordfish for me and cooked to perfection with shrimp, my husband had the prime rib and was blown away. We were so full we didn’t eat until the next day when we returned before our show at the Ryman for the delicious homemade meatballs layered and baked with yummy cheese and sauce and turtle soup with sherry. Loved this place, great Chef, wonderful and friendly staff with a beautiful Art Deco prohibition vibe and icing on the cake was the talented jazz band. Makes me want to come back to Nashville sooner.
All I can say is this restaurant is awesome! We loved our experience here and we will definitely be back. The food, service and atmosphere were all better than I hoped it would be for my birthday dinner. My husband got the pork chop and it is delicious get it butterflied, the bed of dirty rice is very tasty. I got the Prime Rib which was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. A vegetable medley served with some entrees. We shared Oysters Rockefeller and creamed spinach.
By far my favorite restaurant in Nashville! The waiter was very knowledgeable and very responsive. We asked for soda water because we got a stain on a white dress and he whipped out a tide stick! The owner came by to visit us and was very personable. I highly recommend the Prime Rib and the Boudin!! Also very supportive of our military!
Great dining experience. This place is very nice and the food is delicious. They let you take your time to finish each course. The food was so good and the service was incredible. Our server did a great job, and there was a lot of support staff as well as management. Everyone was so nice and helpful. They had a lot of great help throughout our visit. This was some of the most delicious food I have ever eaten. There were 5 of us, and we were all taken care of. I would recommend calling ahead and getting a reservation.
Gannon’s is a staple for my husband and I now! The portions are amazing for the price, and this is one of the only restaurants in Nashville where I always leave full. The eggplant Olivia is LIFE CHANGING, and I dream about the lobster bisque. The staff are the nicest and always have good recommendations, but honestly, everything on the menu is fantastic. They have a full bar and can make any drink you’d like! Also, I’m not a huge dessert person, but I tell everyone I know to try the pecan pie. You won’t be disappointed!
Our family came to Gannons and was very impressed! Firstly the staff was very pleasant, informative, suggestive, friendly, and we felt very invited. The atmosphere was beautiful in the structure. The cathedral ceilings and beams, the 1920's art deco design and the touch of having a jazz band just added to the extra Gatsby vibes... who would also play the happy birthday song to their guests. Our food was excellent, the flavor pairing of food of my meal and my husband's was as full bodied and explosive as their wines that went with them. We had the rack of lamb, highly suggested. Our children were greeted with desserts and for my husband and I, the best creme brulee I think I personally have ever had. Would we be back? If this was a speakeasy we would take the time to dig and find it again and again. 👌 We'll be back!
Lovely atmosphere, quiet and calm with jazz music. The food was delicious with a wonderful presentation. Half the cost of newer steakhouses in Nashville with just as good if not better quality steaks. The pork chop is amazing as well!
Outstanding service and delicious food. I arrived an hour before full menu was open and enjoyed my cocktail, oysters, and tuna tartare. Turns out I timed it perfectly. Between the appetizers and the conversations with both patrons and staff, the full menu opened up at 1700 and I ordered the rack of lamb. My initial worries of it being too sweet (due to the pomegranate and the chamomile sauce) the dish balanced the sweet and savory perfectly well. It was all excellently portioned out so I came away from the meal feeling full and satiated, but not uncomfortably so. Highly recommend as a date spot, the ambiance and atmosphere was simultaneously chill and refined, like hanging out in a jazz lounge. The live piano was lovely, but not so loud that I couldn't hear the conversations around me or the bar staff taking my order and recommending drinks. What a wonderful dinner, thank you Gannons!
First thing. This is a wonderful spacious location located within a Marriott hotel. Complete with an art deco style, the ceilings in this rectangular space are at least twenty feet high. Bring a light jacket of you chill easily. Our server, Mark, extended a very warm, professional, table service and shared some insights on menu items we asked about. Our tab came in just under $300 for two appetizers, a cocktail, three glasses of wine, two entrees and a delicious dessert. We were fortunate to have he additional luxury of a pianist offering background music. I must comment on the teamwork we enjoyed. Mark and his fellow staffers were finely tuned into the cadence of our meal. We will be back. *I included a picture of the cocktail list because it is worth sharing. I ordered an Aviation, not one the list, and the bartender nailed it.
Hopefully when you walk in you will catch Tyler at the front desk, what a perfectly wonderful delightful person. Once inside Gannon's you can't help but notice the amazing architecture in this old building. But even more amazing is the food and the service. We ordered the lobster bisque, prime rib and swordfish. All the dishes were cooked to perfection. Nashville has a plethora of top restaurants and Gannon's is one of them.
This is THE hidden gem in Nashville, I now know. Literally everything was perfect. The service, and definitely in context, was absolutely devine. Our waiter built a rapport with us, actually dined us, coursed us out, didn't speed us up, but didn't force a slower pace either. The Piano was such an added touch of class. The food. Wow!!! The special was just that - special. I loved every bite. It was a creamy majestic seafood extravaganza that kinda blew my mind. The Chef nailed it . My wife's steaks temp was perfect too, and the presentation wasn't too much or too little , it was built just right for the occasion. We will return to this restaurant every time we are anywhere within 100 miles I'm sure. Thank you for making our premiere experience in Nashville premiere. Decor = exceptional!
An exceptional experience. Staff was incredibly attentive, drinks were fresh and food was sensational. Fresh raw oysters were perfect and prime rib was even better! Shared lobster bisque and turtle soup with my husband, and that mid bowl swap was absolutely a great decision. Will definitely find any excuse to return for another fabulous evening.
A hidden gem inside the Marriott. Exceptional service and the food did not disappoint. Swordfish with shrimp on a bed of rice was excellent. We were a party of 7 and were seated promptly on arrival. This place is spacious with some wonderful live music. Pay a visit while in Nashville. You will not regret it.
Great atmosphere. Piano bar. Great steak at a good price. Bar tenders are fun. Try the turtle soup.
Wonderful atmosphere! Someone was playing the piano the whole time but it wasn’t so loud you couldn’t hear each other, it was perfect! The food was delicious, we started with meatballs in house made marinara and it was amazing. The lobster bisque was on another level. I got the lamb and it was - perfect blend of seasoned and charred.
This was the highlight of our trip to Nashville. Went here on a recommendation from a friend and it exceeded expectations. Both the manager and chef came and chatted with us. The service was top notch! And you can't beat the atmosphere for an intimate dinner. This used to be a back in the 20's that they renovated into a restaurant but it still has that old feel to it. Plus the 3 piece jazz bands was the cherry on top to the ambiance. The food was next level! I had the filet with sauce Olivia. Wow! Both of the appetizers were excellent. The fried eggplant and the meatballs. And the deserts were amazing. I really can't say enough about how great the food was. All of it. I didn't have the prime rib but apparently they have the best around if that's your thing. This is a must try if your in Nashville. Don't miss out on this dining experience. Shout out to Chef Gannon and Dave. You have an amazing restaurant and staff!
Tonight we dined at Gannons Nashville for the first time to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was the best meal we’ve had since Gannon, the head chef and owner, left Skull’s Rainbow Room to open his own restaurant. The foie gras (an off-menu item), lobster bisque, wedge salad, prime rib, oysters on the half shell, and chocolate torte were our menu picks. Everything we had was DIVINE! We highly enjoyed the speakeasy vibes, beautiful atmosphere, friendly customer service, and delicious food. Can’t wait to go back again soon!
The place is pretty amazing and with the music can be a little ethereal. It enjoyed the hell out of it. I love anything sparkling in a coupe glass instead of a flute, so was pleasantly surpised from the get go. The bartenders were super friendly, and the fried pecan pie was crazy good.
Took my family and some in-laws here before a TPAC show. Really cool, Great Gatsby-type atmosphere--certainly wouldn't know it was attached to a Marriott if we hadn't come through the front door! We got several appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The turtle soup and the lobster bisque were both very flavorful. Duck empanadas were tasty, but could have used a bit more heat/spice (a little more bland than the description sounded). The fried eggplant with the Olivia topping was great! Ceviche was kinda blah-needed salt or maybe a new recipe. All of our entrees definitely upped the experience. The New York steaks, lamb chops, and the shrimp pasta dish were excellent 👌! The steak seasoning was a little more bold than I'm used to, maybe to give it a Louisiana vibe. The desserts were good, but certainly nothing inventive. Enjoyed the chocolate cake, the creme brulee and the raspberry cheesecake! Definitely had an enjoyable meal and pleasant, efficient service! Would definitely recommend, especially as a pre-show meal with a group!
Bennett was amazing! Knowledgeable and very attentive! It made my 60th birthday celebration complete! The food was perfect and delicious! Isabel!
Came here on a Friday night and wow what a good experience! Good: - Got a cool Gatsby vibe, really nice live music - Food comes out so quickly, staff were really friendly - They gave us a birthday creme brulee and also played happy birthday on the live band! - The pasta was amazing! I loved the bbq shrimp and pasta combo - The lobster bisque soup was really good - Beignets were okay too, very flakey - Risotto was amazing! Super good portion size and mushrooms were cooked so well Bad: - The food was very heavy so left feeling super full - turtle soup wasn’t very tasty it has a weird taste Overall this place was amazing and glad we found it! Not many reviews but it was a great bday place
Made reservations for our anniversary and requested a glass of champagne to start with. Everything was set up and ready for us, everyone was extremely attentive and the food was great! Oysters Rockefeller and Prime Rib were amazing and my wife loved the beef Wellington style meal.
What an awesome place! Paul went out of his way to make sure we could get a large group in last min. Luckily for us there was room at in the bar area for us to get the two high top tables. Food was above and beyond. Service was excellent. Prime rib is my recommendation. It had a Smokey crust on it and was huge.
We had the prime rib that was absolutely amazing and delicious. The flavor was incredible. It was cooked perfect!! The bread pudding was probably some of the best we ever had and the cream brûlée was amazing. Zoe our waitress was everything you want in a sever. Friendly, very nice, polite, accommodating and awesome. She was on point in every way. Thank you Zoe for making our dinner experience exceptional.
We stopped in on a Wednesday evening for dinner. What a beautiful experience, the architecture and vibe are stunning. Zoe our server was fantastic and the Manager on duty checked in with us as well. We had the ceviche, wedge salads, the best prime rib either of us have ever had, creamed spinach and several cocktails. Everything was top notch. What a lovely experience.
Where do we begin talking about Gannons!? It feels like you stepped into a 40’s fine dining establishment without the tuxedos. Beautiful atmosphere and ambience. It is December so it was beautifully decorated with a pianist playing Christmas songs followed by a three-piece jazz band that was absolutely phenomenal. Our server Mark was the perfect balance of being present and attentive, without hovering. All of his recommendations were spot on. When you go to an upscale restaurant, the expectation is to be waited on, and your server can set the tone for the entire evening. Mark absolutely did just that. Now let’s get to the food We started off with oysters Rockefeller, which were probably the best we’ve ever had. My wife ordered a traditional Caesar salad that was excellent. We had the prime rib with a side of creamed spinach, and some roasted brussels sprouts that were offered that night. We also ordered an eggplant dish off the appetizer menu- they were all incredible. We were pretty full at this point, but Mark brought us the dessert menu. They all looked amazing, but since we were visiting the south so we narrowed it down to beignets or deep fried pecan pie. I asked Mark what he thought and he said “where else are you going to find deep fried pecan pie”? And I gotta tell you he was right. The perfect balance of savory and sweet and we ate every last bite. We spoke with both of the floor managers that night and expressed to them what an excellent dining experience the evening had been. They were very gracious and thanked me for saying so. The next thing I knew one of the managers came over and said she’d like to introduce us to someone. This is when we had the opportunity to meet Gannon personally. Southern charm and Genteel would describe him. We had a very pleasant conversation and I so look forward to our next trip to Nashville to dine at this incredible establishment. Thank you Gannons
We really liked Gannons. The atmosphere was unique and we enjoyed the piano/bass in the background. Our server was very attentive and accommodating. The steaks were great! Chicken Piccata was good. We didn’t care for the Brussel sprouts, too sweet. Cost about the same as most steakhouses.
Matt is a great server 10/10 would come back to have him. The food was amazing and drinks were strong. I recommend this to everyone. We didn’t feel rushed and it was a great spot to have a valentine’s Day dinner.
Gannons is a fantastic dining experience. The service and staff were great. Very classy atmosphere and the food is delicious. The chicken piccata is AMAZING….most flavorful dish I’ve ever had!! Highly recommend Gannons if you are in Nashville.
Dined at the bar on this past Saturday night. Validated parking for $8 at 4th and commerce garage. Drinks were nice. Espresso martini was probably one of the best ones in Nashville. The band was good. Unfortunately my app was just ok. The meatballs definitely lacked flavor even after adding salt and pepper served warm. The meat was gritty texture. The Rockefeller oysters were good; the ham on there was TOO salty. The chicken piccata was great. My friends enjoyed there filets with mushrooms and onions. Each filet came with a whole roasted garlic bulb. I know what to get when I come back.
We got a recommendation from our bar tender at our hotel to go here on a Thursday night. The food was delicious but the music was so loud you could barely talk. Great vibe and music but they could have turned it down a bit more!
Made reservations here for my husband’s birthday and overall, it was a lovely experience! The atmosphere gives very Great Gatsby vibes with live music playing in the background which was a really nice touch. Foodwise, the menu was diverse with many options for apps. We ended up getting multiple sharing dishes and didn’t even get to the mains (next time!). Highly recommend the baked oysters, caesar salad, eggplant and risotto. Service was fantastic- extremely friendly and attentive.
This place was just okay for us. On the positive, when we were there, they had live piano music which was nice. The oysters were fantastic. And the service was pretty good. On the negative, the lighting is very dark, you can barely see your food. And the steak was not good at all. It was chewy and difficult to cut.
What a wonderful venue. The atmosphere is very dark, chill and “speakeasy” ish. We ordered some food on happy hour and the food was decent for the most part. The truffle fries weren’t so much truffle fries. The spinach dip tasted like frozen spinach just heated up. The meatball was absolutely a hit, our group enjoyed it. The oysters were fresh and actually great , coming from people who live by the water and get fresh oysters all the time. The spicy margarita was very tasty and the beers were cold. However, our bartender Kirsten seemed to hate her job or life. She had an attitude when we informed her we weren’t a fan of the spinach dip. And also looked at us condescendingly. I don’t want to say because we are not white, but that is a possibility. Would I come back? No.
