The Tin Angel was absolutely delicious. One warning! If you want bread for your table... order it as soon as you sit at the table. I do believe they bake it to order as it took a bit after we ordered it to get to the table. Oh, it was TO DIE FOR! One loaf is good for 1 medium piece for 4-5 people. So, if you like bread or have more people than that, order accordingly. The restaurant has a dark, luxurious ambiance. The food is stunning and plated as such. Everyone in my family had a stunning plate. Desserts were amazing as well. There is nothing but YUM that I can say. I wished I lived closer so I could go back. Definitely a high recommend in my book!
Excellent food prepared from scratch. Great drink selection. Great wait staff. Our server was good to offer suggestions. Would highly recommend.
Great food, great service, fantastic cocktails!
Elegant, yet comfortable. Not pretentious attitude, but 5 star food.
A local favorite. Always a great meal with very attentive servers. My favorite seat is at the bar where Keith and Daniel take great care of guests.
I didn't know what to expect coming here but it definitely is a place I would recommend if you need a date night with the significant other. Me and wife came here on our anniversary and the service was 10/10 food was 10/10 and the atmosphere was 10/10.
One of the most consistently delicious restaurants I've tried in Nashville! Love the warm goat cheese salad, seafood risotto, and fall bounty pasta!
Good service, and generally excellent, well-prepared and well presented food. Valet parking in a neighborhood with plenty of on street parking is a little odd and pretentious, however.
Fantastic atmosphere and even better food. Never disappoints. Our go-to spot for a romantic dinner
Great place for dinner when you want the food good and be able to talk and hear at the table. A consistent favorite for over 20 years.
One of my favorite restaurants in Nashville. Great food, comfortable atmosphere and extremely consistent. I love this place!
Wonderful place. Good food. Warm and relaxed atmosphere with kind servers and great wine selection. Enjoy!
This place has wonderful ambiance paired with food that is both unique and balanced. I would easily recommend it for a night out with a loved one, a business meal, or a few relaxing drinks.
This place was truly AMAZING, could not ask for a better dining experience. Friendly staff, amazing food,so worth it,great atmosphere, I could go on and on. I think you should go check it out!
EVERYTHING was Delicious! When your salad is exceptional, you know it's going to be a great meal! Warm Goat Cheese Salad was very good. We also split an order of Calamari- the pepperoncini aioli has just enough of a little bite of spice. I ordered the Fall Bounty Pasta with shrimp. It was AMAZING! Such unique combinations of flavors-very much a summation of Fall. Husband order the Grilled Beef Tenderloin. It was perfectly cooked- a melt-in-your-mouth cut of meat. Wish I had room for dessert! I would've ordered the Mango Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee....Next time!
Tin Angel is a mainstay of quality food at reasonable prices served professionally and cordially by friendly faces. The one thing you can always count on at Tin Angel is that your food will be fresh, innovative and yet simple, without the fru-fru that most modern restaurants attempt to create. That it's served in a pleasant, cozy, especially in winter when the fireplace roars, makes your dining experience even better. Plus, you can actually hear your conversation partners!
Love this place. My girlfriend works on west end and I have to meet her on occasion just to go here and get the bacon wrapped figs and a couple beers. Great environment to relax.
Almost every dish we had was fantastic, in particular the fried camembert with pate. However, the fried green tomatoes were sliced a bit too thick and thus were a bit tough.
What a great restaurant, the atmosphere is great and the food is out of this world. We had a great waitress (wish I got her name) who was very helpful when we asked questions about what to see around Nashville. Will definitely return if We are in the area again.
Celebrated my 81st birthday at Tin Angel last night with my husband and daughter. The service was excellent and the food was delightful. Will certainly recommend to our friends.
the first place i recommend to people in nashville looking for finer dining. comfortable neighborhood place, but best to dress up a bit, no pretentiousness, emphasis on taking care of you without being stuffy, ny attitude in the best sense of the term. menu trends toward bistro favorites (steak frites, seafood pastas, etc) done very well if not spectacular. great bar, interesting wine choices.
The Tin Angel has a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The drinks are outstanding and so is the food. Their bar is my favorite in the West End area. I definitely recommend it.
if you want to know where the west end locals go, head over to the tin angel. the dinner menu is selectively delectable - offering the best pork schnitzel this side of the atlantic as well as a lobster & shrimp risotto that will have you licking the bowl clean. the clientele and staff alike are unassuming and friendly against the back drop of tin ceiling tiles and candle light.
My second time @ Tin Angel and they do not disappoint! Lovely laid back atmosphere. We started with the caprese bruchetta. For entrees we had the winter bounty pasta and the filet. Dessert was the Apple blackberry crumble with homemade cinnamon ice cream. Everything was delicious. Reasonably priced. Our server was great! Not sure about weekdays but you probably want to make a reservation on the weekend...just in case!
Down to earth, rock solid food. Great value. Good ambiance. It's one of my go to places. I would buy a meal ticket if they offered one. Rick, the owner knows what he's doing
We have been coming to the Tin Angel ever since they took the spot from 32nd Ave Brasserie (we're dating ourselves!) This restaurant is our perennial favorite. The food is always good and the restaurant has a warm and vibrant atmosphere. We enjoy trying all the new restaurants in town, and love many of them, but Tin Angel is and probably always will be our favorite.
Definitely one of my very favorite Old School Nashville staples. Their original colleagues have closed all around them, but I am so glad they are still here! This was the first place my husband told me he loved me. I was leaving for Bonnaroo and he took me out to a nice dinner before I left. It was nice to visit recently and still get the same amazing cuisine and service. Tin Angel's ladies' room will always be my favorite bathroom in a restaurant (if I ever find blue tiles that small, I'll make my mine look like it). There is a sketch I love looking at in the right hand stall every time I go in. Hahah. Love you TA!!
Thank you Rick for being here for the Nashville Community for 25 wonderful years! Tin Angel is my go-to spot when I'm downtown, the food is always excellent. It feels like home every time I walk through the door
Dear Tin Angel, last night's Valentines dinner with the love of my life was impeccable! I read reviews to determine just about everywhere we go and feel that if the service and food is always as great it was last night with you guys a 5 star rating is always a given, simply fantastic! Very pleased from the moment we sat down, the service, the wait, the ambience (very romantic), dinner and desert was wonderful!
The food was amazing. The goat cheese salad was wonderful, the trout dip was fantastic and the chocolate mousse Kahlua ice cream dessert was to die for. Very cozy and intimate inside. Lots of brick and interesting decor.
Our first time with Tin Angel was the middle of February 2016 on a Wednesday evening. It was absolutely fabulous!! The wine was great, the food was great, and so was the service. We aren't from here, but if we are ever back, we will definitely return to the Tin Angel!! I do recommend reservations if you eat much past 7:00 pm, because even though it was a Wednesday, it was busy. Thank you Tin Angel!!
Very good food, friendly people.... YUM. Just amazing. Went again last night. Nailed it again. Bacon wrapped figs with goat cheese, heirloom tomatoes with arugala and balsamic, I had the Peruvian bouillabaisse(shrimp, scallops, cod, deliciousness), and the Mrs. had the baked salmon. Everything was great as usual.
I was visiting my daughter in Nashville and stayed just down the road from the Tin Angel. We went for brunch and had the best fried green tomatoes and cheese grits I've ever had in my life. I introduced them to my sister who was traveling with me. She had never had them in her life and is now sold on fried green tomatoes and cheese grits. I highly recommend this place. We also had the sweet potato biscuits. Not at all what we were expecting. Instead of the biscuits being made with the sweet potatoes, they made a sweet potato jam to spread between the biscuit pieces. Yummy. I love many places in Nashville, but will be back here my next visit.
We stayed a the Holiday Inn and found the Tin Angel was nearby with decent ratings so we gave it a shot. We had to sit by the door bc it was only table available, so there was a constant draft, but I wouldn’t have traded it. The fireplace and ambiance (and Tennessee Whiskey) kept us warm. Food and service were both great. Delicious comfort food ( amazing pork chop with Mac and cheese) or Scrumptious vegetarian (crazy good meatless meatballs with spaghetti squash.) We has a great meal!
We stopped in for desert after a show and everything is always good at the Tin angel. I ordered the chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream and she had the carrot cake. My desert was very very good but I was a little jealous of her carrot cake. It was moist, the icing was perfect and the cake was extremely good. I know what I'm getting next time!
Thank you, Tin Angel, for the amazing dinner last night! The ambiance was perfect, the food delightful and the service wonderful. The bacon wrapped mission figs and the warm honey brie dip was just the start of our great meal. We cannot wait to come back!
I love this place. Used to save up to eat here when I first moved to Nashville waay back in the 90s...then I dated a girl who got the employee discount. Just really great food in a really comfy atmosphere. Not sure if Rick still owns it, but still as good as ever!
Not sure how I haven't heard of this place in the past two years I've been in Nashville. I really loved dish I got, it had to be one of the best Snapper fish dishes I've ever had. I also really liked the warm atmosphere of the restaurant.
Great value spot. We had a great date for two; we usually spend 120/per person after tip (we tip generously) here we only spent like 90/per person and had a great 3 course dinner. Little romantic vibe too, I liked it a lot.
Very nice eatery, very good food and service. I just wish people weren't so obnoxious and extremely loud. Doesn't anyone realize their not the only people on the planet?
Excellent, polished table service and very good food. We shared the goat cheese salad and our entrees were beef and fish dishes. Both were well prepared. We did not have dessert. We enjoyed our dinner.
I remember driving past Tin Angel when I first moved to Tennessee when I was 15. I instantly wanted to visit it. Well it took me a good 10 years before I tried it and I wish I hadn't waited so long! The food is interesting and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and intimate. The staff was accommodating and friendly. I have only been for lunch and brunch, but I would assume dinner would be just as great.
The food was delicious. We tried it for the first time and it just so happened to be restaurant week and we got a 3 course meal for $25. They were perfect serving sizes for 3 courses. I would really like to go back and try things straight off their regular menu.
Wine suggestion offered by the bar manager, Keith Overton, was excellent; Appetizers (X 4) were also excellent; main course (tonight's pasta-based special) wasn't the Chef's best, but acceptable.
The atmosphere is amazing. The food was fine but not exciting- with so many restaurants in Nashville I don't know that we'd make an effort to go here again.
The food and drinks were mostly good. The tables are a little low, so get a booth. Personally, I would get a plate of appetizers, that was the best of the food that we ate. Overall good, but not spectacular.
a solid west end local joint with a great bar and fire place. the menu is very well priced but a bit dated and doesn't evolve much. reasonable, but small wine list. service is hit or miss.
I was quite disappointed. Our waitor was not the most in tune with our table and the food was mediocre. I got the chicken chimichuri and my friend got an average pasta dish. We did get a blackberry cobbler dessert which was fantastic. So I probably wouldn't go back unless it was for dessert. But still dont even know if i would do that. The place was sterile feeling. They need warmth.
Unfortunately, i have to give this two stars. I really wanted to like it, but the quality was subpar. Nice restaurant, friendly staff and wonderful location for neighborhood folk. The goat cheese salad was good. However the flatbread was awful, very salty, likely old tomatoes, and had a piece of hair. The lamb sliders were ok, but it had salsa??? And fried onion skin, both unappetizing. Lastly the fries were terrible, soggy and super oily bottom of bucket.
Portion sizes are ridiculous~~meaning beyond TINY!!! My husband and I were so disappointed with our first experience here, and we will not be going back. We are fitness/sports people and don't eat a whole ton of food, but we left this place STARVING! Discovered that we both felt the same way when we got in the car, as we did not have a complaint-fest during our meal...so I called to speak with someone about it since I basically never leave negative reviews. Well, the manager was supposed to return my call and never has. I went to their website and sent an email, and still...NO reply. Bummed at the money spent here.
