Fantastic food fantastic crew I'd eat here every week if I lived in the neighborhood Sauces Devine Lots of care in the food Standouts id come back for: Olive oil cake.... Ceviche ... Fatoush salad ... Griilled cucumber..
The lemon pasta was the best pasta I’ve ever had and the tomato garlic hummus was actually to die for. I ate so fast I didn’t remember to take pictures.
I always love the food at 19 Cleveland, but tonight was extra special thanks to Lillian. She was super nice, friendly, and really made the night great. Everything was perfect — can’t wait to come back!
Great food and atmosphere. All the dishes were well made and tasty.
From the moment you step in, the decor and the vibe takes you to another place. Whether that's Miami, Tel Aviv, or whatever, it's a good place. Servers are full of life, scantily clad, and ours was dancing for most of the night. Considering the fact that the kitchen was feeding the entire outdoor seating area, service was incredibly fast. The head chef (Israeli I think) was incredibly serious and knew what he was doing. I saw a lot of roasted cauliflowers, and a bunch of shnitzel (fried chicken) sandwiches. The Fatush salad was excellent, and the menu didn't leave out lebneh (sour cream cheese), zaatar, tahini, or anything else from the middle east. Everything had a certain element of spice to it. The falafel burger was able to be split in half with a giant knife and included a jalapeno aoli. We also got the spicy tahini. For starters, the beet salad was also excellent. The branzino was fantastic. It came perfectly fillet'd with a crispy skin and was served on top a bed of chewy, meaty chantrelle mushrooms. Yes, get it. All in all, nothing not to love about this place. We were eyeing it for a year or more, and were glad we got a chance to go.
Beautifully designed Israeli restaurant. Great atmosphere, big windows so the place is very nicely light. We made reservations so we only waited about 5 minutes for a table (because there was a line of people at the reception). We ordered the Jachnun which was good (but you can find a better one at 12 Chairs), the spicy hummus (great), schnitzel, salad and falafel (also recommended). Everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere. A little bit expensive but highly recommended.
The burger was delicious and Chris is a delightful server. He has a wonderful attitude, very welcoming and ever offered us Ouzo 😋 Will definitely come back!
Loved it! Otman (the host) is extremely hospitable. We came without a reservation and they found space for us right away. I would recommend a res though because it’s a small space. 10/10 vibes, 10/10 food. My new favorite place and I’m bringing back all my friends. Food was like Saba & Safta’s, vibe like Tel Aviv
This is the best Israeli restaurant in NYC - hands down. The staff is amazing, attentive, and warm. Drinks and food are A++++. Othman and Lillian are fantastic!! I would recommend coming to 19 Cleveland for any occasion. Highly recommend the Branzino Schwarma and classic hummus. The absolute best.
My family and I had a stellar experience. The food and drinks were great, but our service from Ernest truly made it amazing. Rarely have I seen such a hospitable server. Thank you Ernest!
Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Ended up sitting at the bar on my own, chatting to the staff and the other punters. Fantastic spot, incredible food, sexy atmosphere, I had a blast, highly recommend.
Love this place! The staff is amazing and the food is so good! I love coming here for the vibe, everybody’s always so happy and welcoming
Great experience and food! Chris has been an amazing host and it was such a joy! Starters have been my absolute favorite!
This place is a gem! The energy is vibrant and welcoming, making it such a fun spot to enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. On top of that, the service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Can’t wait to come back!
Food was amazing. The staff is super fun and makes you have a great time.
I came for brunch and it was excellent. The spot is trendy, so expect a crowd and a noisy atmosphere. The menu is full of fresh options, some traditional and some unique. It didn’t seem like there was one popular item, indicating to me that you really can’t go wrong. We had the Tel Avivian avocado toast and Shakshuka and both were great. I highly recommend the espresso martini, made with fresh espresso.
Woowza. A must visit for the best telavivian cuisine in New York City. Service on point. Atmosphere and design to transport you away from quarantine life. Start with the hummus, daily specials were mouth watering, and that thing they call a falafel burger is like wow. The grilled Mahi mahi skewer is like fresh from the sea to the table. For a limited time, they are also doing a Pop UP taverna at Casa Bocado a few blocks away at Sohotel at 341 Broome Street. I can’t wait to return. Or maybe just order from Caviar once a week 😘
Food was fabulous and Chris was even more fabulous ! We had an amazing time and the hummus and mocktails were fabulous !!!
Food is amazing. Servers are very friendly. Decor very nice but very comfortable l. Music on the loud side for me, so keep that in mind if you have auditory processing disorder, but definitely worth the discomfort.
Everything on the menu is delicious! I highly recommend any of their hummus dishes and sides to share. Only thing kind of annoying was music was too loud so you couldn’t really have conversations so it’s a good spot to go to with a group you don’t want to talk to, just eat with.
Great venue, but Chris is what makes this place truly special. The amount of care and attention he gives customers is amazing. I can’t in with my so. Who wasn’t feeling well and by the time we left he forgot he was sick. Chris is a true gem.
Chris was the best server in the world. He was so friendly and eccentric and helped us with all our needs. Made us feel very comfortable!! We will be back
I just got back from Israel and I had to come here for my bday dinner to stay in my Israel mode. I felt like I was back in Tel Aviv! Food was yummy and I can’t wait to come back for the spicy watermelon margarita. I had chick schnitzel six times in Israel. This schnitzel was just as good! Service was great, very attentive, and again, food was excellent!
We loved the inventive and delicious dishes here. A fig with fresh mozzerrella app was amazing! It can get noisy during peak times but the atmosphere is lively in a good way as everyone around you is enjoying their food.
I decided to finally give 19 Cleveland a try. Although the restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine, they have one of the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had. The patty is pretty thick and is made with a blend of 3 type of meat, served with vegetables and pretty tasty sauce. I got a side of salad instead of the fries and it was purely delicious and cooked really well. The staff were also amazing! From the moment I walked in I was greeted by a very energetic and enthusiastic server who was more than happy to immediately seat me and make sure I had water. He gave me his recommendations and I was very happy. I will be coming back.
Boys had a good time at the 19. Place was a bit too loud to have a conversation without leaning in. Music should be lowered a few decibels. Lights a bit too dim, should be raising the luminance. Food was great, prices were reasonable. Wait staff treat you with respect, except food took a second. Luckily I was with the boys so time was not an issue.
Came in 12/21 and had a wonderful lunch with my daughter! Maddy was our server, and she was awesome! We had the beets, Israeli salad, schnitzel, shashuka and the braised rib pastry. We also had the bread platter! Everything was phenomenal! What food! What ambiance! Even the music was awesome!
Great find! We were nearby and checked it out. Food was delicious, service was attentive and quick. Fish skewers with a sweet labne (maybe infused pomegranate) and the humus both were delicious. We’ll be back.
My husband and I went on a date and ran into this cute little cozy spot that made us feel right at home! The staff was very nice and friendly. The drinks are great, but the food was amazing! We had the chicken hummus with pita bread, the Yemen duck tacos and the Shwarma cigars and the food was so tasty. There were no left overs. I am saving this place for the next time I need a Mediterranean fix 😊
Absolutely loved my experience at 19 Cleveland! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every staff member we interacted with was so nice, friendly, and made us feel truly taken care of. You can tell they really care about their guests. I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
Fantastic experience! The food was perfect, the drinks were great, and the ambiance was lovely. Layla was very kind and attentive, and Chris was extremely engaging and made our evening even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back!
Chris was awesome! As soon as we walked in, he greeted us with a big smile and kept checking in on us throughout the meal. The food was amazing. We had the chicken hummus (if you can’t handle spicy food, this is not the one — it’s really spicy 🥵) and the red snapper schnitzel, which was my favorite. This will definitely be our go-to restaurant near my work.
Not only the food was the best I've had in NYC so far, but the service was absolutely incredible. Chris was absolutely lovely and gave us the best recommendations possible! I will absolutely come back many times
Yum I am picky and I really enjoyed the avocado toast with the egg. The flavors with the spices and the sourdough bread created a really nice combination which I’m thinking about wanting again! I should have taken more of my husbands fries because they were really good also. The staff were super friendly and nice, and I liked the interesting decor on the walls. I look forward to going back!
Chris, welcome me into the restaurant, and immediately help me sit with an amazing vibe. Also, give me all the information about the menu. I ordered hummus, rotisserie chicken, and a chicken schnitzel. Thank you very much, I definitely recommend it!
I've been here a few times over the years and the food is always consistently good. My favorite is the falafel sandwich. It's a bit messy and a bit spicy but all the components go really well together. Their lemon pasta is also delicious, simple but well executed. Their mint tea is muddled mint with a wedge of lemon, and it is MINT forward, like a fistful of mint goes into the cup. If you don't like mint (like me) you won't even enjoy sitting next to it but if you do like mint and tea it is a nice, refreshing choice that'll warm you up.
A fabulous Mediterranean spot in SoHo that we loved so much we came twice during our four-day trip. Hands down the best brunch/lunch we had in Manhattan. Fresh, flavorful dishes, beautifully prepared, and a warm, welcoming vibe. An absolute must if you’re in the area. My teenage daughter questions how this hidden gem is not TikTok famous!
Amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, every dish hit the mark. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special night out. Chris truly made the experience stand out. Attentive, friendly, and genuinely cared that we were happy the entire time. He anticipated what we needed without hovering and made us feel like valued guests, not just another table. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Chris if you can.
Been enjoying their falafel sandwich — a touch of spice & utterly unique in my experience — on trips back to NYC from my various homes in the Middle East for years. But the greatest thing about this place had always been the infectious energy of its bartender, Chris, who is the closest thing to a restaurant MC I’ve ever encountered! Life of the party, full of positivity, and always ensures I leave feeling not just satisfied with my food & bev, but feeling better about life in general 😂❤️
Loved this entire experience! Our server, Chris, was amazing! Great energy and warm personality and not overbearing. What a pleasure to dine here. The food was fantastic and all the staff were very nice and had great vibes. I loved this restaurant and look forward to returning!! Thanks for the wonderful lunchy!!!
Food was on the pricey side for brunch (not shocking for Nolita), but delicious. All made worth it by my amazing waiter CHRIS. Hilarious server who absolutely lit up the restaurant on a slower Tuesday afternoon. He was very attentive and helpful with menu selections. Come over and cross your fingers that Chris greets you.
This is a gem of a place! The food and vibe were do great! Nearly every dish was great and liked by our group. The starters were very tasty and plentiful, and I especially liked the hummus, the falafel and the beet salad. As for the main dishes, I didn't taste everything but the group liked the schnitzel and the chicken skewers. For me it was actually the non Mediterranean dish that was amazing - the burger! So juicy and exactly the right amount of sauce, cooked to perfection. And the fries could be the highlight by themselves. Highly recommend! As for the atmosphere, it's a great vibe in a non presumptuous setting. It was a little warm until the fans were turned on, and the chairs could be a bit more comfortable, but that's about it. Overall highly recommended and we'll definitely visit again!!
19 Cleveland is a fun, upbeat place for groups. Come here for brunch if you're looking for a fun time and if you love israelian food. One star off because of the noise level. It's actually difficult to have a conversation due to the chaotic ambiance. But if that's your vibe, then you will enjoy this place.
We went there on a Friday evening without a reservation so the probability of finding a place was skim! So we asked the staff if we could at least get a to-go to which they said they were too busy and could only cater to the people. So we finally after waiting got a table outside in the cold, it was in December in NyC! We ordered the falafel burger and fries. Portion size was good and the burger was really good! Service was slow but I guess that's expected on a busy friday evening. I would want to go there again and try other things!
Been wanted to try 19 Cleveland for a bit. I went on a Thursday night at 8.30pm by myself and there was a 45 min wait. Part of the stuff is amazing and would go out of their way, a couple of other people are just careless. The place is loud with a very nice vibe. Pita was delicious as well as the Schnitzel! Would love to go back to try more from their menu
19 Cleveland pretends to be a chef restaurant like in Tel Aviv Israel. The atmosphere and vibe are amazing, the service is excellent and friendly, the food is fine, but still not as good as chef's restaurants in Tel Aviv. The menu tries to encompass too many flavors and it's a bit of a miss. Recommend coming mainly for the atmosphere and cocktails.
The disaronno drink here is so good after I ordered one and raved about it my entire table got a round. Came here for a happy hour after work. Aside from the sour also loved the mezzo plate, duck tacos, shrimp, fattoush salad. Was trying to get some veggies in and got the mushroom cigar not knowing what that is like. It turned out to be one large long breaded mushroom. I would not get that again. Also thought the hummus pairing with that was not very good.
Came for quick lunch at work. Food is fresh and colorful which is perfect for midday pick-me-up. Chris is phenomenal (and has a great singing voice)!!!
Nice dinner. A friend of ours recommended he place and we wanted to give it a try. Food is fresh and delicious, very different than what other middle eastern places offer. The prices are quite high. Entrees were good, but appetizer and dessert prices are not reasonable. Outdoor seating is cozy and cute.
This restaurant really gives the Israeli -Tel Aviv vibe. The atmosphere is a bit too loud to my taste. The food was decent but not so special for NYC. The drink I had was good with a little bit of a sesame touch to it which was unique. The place itself is a bit crowded since it has very little space, add to how noisy it is, it wasn’t a very quiet, chill brunch like I hoped. However, the staff is very nice and if you’re coming with a group of people to have a good time, it could be just the place you’re looking for.
I recently had dinner at 19 Cleveland in Manhattan while traveling for a work trip, and it was a mixed experience. The atmosphere was great—warm and inviting, and the hostess was super friendly and pleasant. The place is pretty small though, and the tables were packed tightly, which made it feel a bit crowded. Since I have dietary restrictions, I asked about the ingredients in the meals. Unfortunately, all the seafood dishes were cooked with butter, which ruled those out for me. I ended up going with the chicken skewers, and they were honestly delicious—perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The downside was the service. My waiter Charlie didn’t seem too thrilled when I asked about the ingredients. He looked annoyed, especially when he brought over the dessert menu. It made me feel like my questions were a hassle, which was off putting when you’re just trying to make sure you can eat safely. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend 19 Cleveland if you have dietary restrictions. The food is good, but the lack of consideration for special dietary needs makes it hard to fully enjoy the experience. If that’s not a concern for you, it might be worth checking out for the atmosphere and tasty skewers.
The food was solid and the atmosphere was enjoyable. However, the moment we signed the check, the hostess rushed us out to turn over our table—despite us being there for less time than the guests around us. We were with friends and barely had time to say our goodbyes. Crappy way to treat paying customers. We won’t be back.
