American Cut Steakhouse in Tribeca was an outstanding experience! The ambiance is fantastic — elegant yet comfortable, perfect for a night out. The steak was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. We started with the lobster appetizer, which was unforgettable, and the potato side was equally incredible. A special shoutout to our server, John, who was attentive, friendly, and made the evening even better. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a top-notch steakhouse experience!
Food was delicious and the cellar dinning room was very intimate for Vday dinner. The server (it was a woman), was incredible, she made the experience all the more enjoyable with her wonderful personality and recommendations. Can't wait to be back soon
Celebrated my 50th had an amazing time. The service, food, and ambience were all perfect, and my family really enjoyed the night. Great spot for a special occasion!
I enjoyed dining here so much! My wife and I visited three years ago for my birthday and we wanted to come back so bad. I booked Valentine’s Day dinner and it didn’t disappoint. I’m amazed by the chili lobster and it tasted so yummy and flavorful. The sauce was well done with a hint of spice (Thai spice I guess?) and the cream mixed with the lobster. Another favorite is the dry aged potato. It’s so good! Porterhouse tasted great too and I appreciate the fire show. It smelled really nice. I look forward to coming back again.
American Cut Steakhouse is easily one of my favorite spots in the city. Our waiter John was incredible; genuinely one of the best servers I’ve had anywhere. He made the whole experience feel warm and inviting, and you can tell he really cares about making sure everything is perfect. I’ve been here multiple times and always get the filet mignon. It’s unbelievably consistent every time, cooked perfectly to temp and packed with flavor. The maître d’ butter is unreal. I also had a Moscow Mule that was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything about this place hits, the food, the drinks, and the service. Ask for John if you can. He really makes the night.
We ordered the skirt steak that was cooked to perfection. Jalapeno mashed potatoes look weird, but I assure you that they are good! The cauliflower and asparagus did not disappoint. Edgar, one of the waiters, was very pleasant and happy. This is our second time at American Cut and it didn't disappoint. The fresh, hot biscuits that they serve pair really well with the silky, smooth butter. Super delicious!
Such a fabulous dinner. My mom and daughter and I were visiting NYC and truly enjoyed our dinner on Thursday. The food was outstanding. The service was top notch. The ambiance was warm and cozy. I wished I would have tried one of the seafood entrees. I am certain everything on your menu is delicious and prepared perfectly. What a treat it was coming to your restaurant for dinner. We all loved it. My next trip to the city I will def make a reservation. And anyone I know heading to the city I will highly recommend.
Team dinner with a high performing and consistently reliable partner. Grateful! There is a lot to be grateful f.
If you're looking for a viral dining experience, don’t miss the Adult Happy Meal; a perfectly curated combo of a Caesar salad, fries, and a martini. But be sure to arrive between opening and 7 PM to snag that deal! Beyond the buzz, what stood out most was the service. There was a small hiccup, but it was resolved swiftly and professionally. The atmosphere inside is warm, lively, and incredibly cozy, making it the perfect spot for a night out. Now, let’s talk food. The star of the show: The NY Strip Steak; absolutely phenomenal. On the flip side, the Speyside Affair wasn’t my favorite. But if you’re looking for a reason to drop in, let it be the Cracker Jack Sundae, a sweet and nostalgic treat that’s worth the trip on its own. Overall, it was a fantastic experience with great food, a welcoming staff, and an ambiance that makes you want to stay awhile (as i did). I highly recommend!
American Cut is excellent! The steaks are cooked perfectly and taste amazing. The fries and mashed potatoes are delicious, and the service is friendly and professional.
We had a huge dinner party and the service was absolutely great. I had order the steak medium rare and it came out to perfection. The sea food platters were really fresh as well. I will recommend this place for special occasions.
What an experience! Most friendly waiter, excellent service, exciting drinks and most delicious food.
This is an amazing steakhouse! It’s a beautiful space, the bar is hip, the food is excellent and the service is wonderful. We held a work event here and had a terrific time. The steaks and seafood were phenomenal, with every bite being better than the last. The pork belly and seafood platter with shrimp and oysters were a meal in themselves! and the octopus was divine. The mashed potato, creamed spinach and Brussels sprouts with bacon sides were amazing too. And don’t even get me started on the everything biscuits! The desserts were the perfect size after such an extravagant meal. Downstairs they have a private room and bar that is perfect for groups of 25 or so. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
Beautiful, classy, delicious steakhouse on Greenwich St. The perfect ambiance for date night or even night out with the girls. Service is impeccable. We had the porterhouse steak - so much that we had to take some home. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were had a lot of kick and we loved it. Mushrooms also delicious. Ended with a yummy Cracker Jack sundae. It’s pricey so you can always try to go during restaurant week if you want to try it out!
We went for happy hour and sat at the bar. Had the “happy meal” plus a few others other things. Service was excellent. Great vibe and nice space.
I very much enjoyed my night here. The porter house Chefs Cut was cooked to perfection and the little show they put was wonderful for my out of town guest. Honestly after going to many fine steak house I’m definitely adding this one to the rotation. The homemade chocolate chip cookies with sea salt were so delish even though we could barely think about dessert after our fabulous dinner.
Est. 2013 Layout/atmosphere *Wine racks by maitre’d stand; bar area with lounge booths/chairs; artwork of Muhammad Ali behind the bar, TV by the side wall, brick walls; bar itself marble with metal railing, seats 14; past the bar is the Semi-Private Lounge with tables, the Black Room dining area and a second dining area; downstairs is the Morrison Room with its own bar and tables plus the restrooms; candlelight setting Service *Excellent bartender Food/drink *Plank Smoked Old Fashioned (Old Forrester, Maple Wood Smoke, AC Bitters) - really good; get the sweetness of the maple up front *Complimentary “everything” biscuit with “vegetable” butter - really good; biscuit itself was fresh, warm; the ingredients paired well *KC Bone-In Strip 30 Day Dry Aged (18 oz) - really good; meat was cooked perfectly and the sauce (red wine or demi glacé?) along with the accompaniments (cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, chopped bacon) accentuated the meat as well *Mac ‘N Cheese - Good; similar taste to an Alfredo sauce with breadcrumbs; pasta appeared to be cavatelli *Strawberry Cheesecake (blueberry compote) - Good; fresh fruit; the cake form itself held together and had clearly defined layers
Where do I start? This cute, modern steakhouse had an ambiance that said that we were going to have a great night. Bread for the table was this absolutely flaky buttery everything biscuit with the most flavorful herbed butter that i have ever tasted. That first bite, let me know that food at the establishment was going to be amazing. My grilled bacon had the right amount of salty and the BBQ sauce that accompanied it was the right amount of sweet. My NY strip was tender and juicy and my friend's salmon was seared well and flavorful. The pureed potatoes looked like it was going to be gummy but I was wrong. It was soft and silky and was one of the best bites i enjoyed tonight. Dessert didnt disappoint, the mango jam on the cheesecake and the velvety popcorn icecream was the perfect end to this meal. This dining experience exceeded my expectations and this was due to the friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. The hostess who greeted me was so gracious, the bartender who attended to my friend who waited at the bar for me who insisted i too had a drink even if it was just a glass of water, to Gio our waiter who along with his coworkers made the night run smoothly; checking in and following up to ensure our dinner was going well to the floor manager Emma who started us on our food journey when she delivered the biscuit to the table. As the night progressed the restaurant got busier and the service that we received never wavered. I had the opportunity to speak to manager (as he too was present and walking around) and was pleased to share the lovely experience I had at his establishment. I definitely would recommend dining at American Cut Tribeca. Quality is quality and this restaurant measured up.
Had an amazing dinner here over the weekend with some friends. This was my first time at American Cut and I must say, it has easily become one of my top restaurants for a night out. Though it is on the pricier side, I definitely believe the quality of the food makes it worth it. I highly recommend the jim brady oysters and the bacon….so delicious! The lamb and tomahawk for two was also amazing. For sides we ordered the lobster mac, jalapeno mash and the sunchoked spinach. The jalapeno mash was on the spicier end and this wasnt great but the lobster mac is definitely a must order. To end the night we ordered the cracker jack sundae and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
Our reviews had over 36 million views last year. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really loved American Cut. We went pre-theater and it was fantastic she had the chicken and I had the bone in ribeye both were cooked to perfection the chicken was very moist and had a lovely brown sauce on it that was extremely good when I ordered my steak the server recommended that we get all five sauces which I did and all of them were delicious I highly recommend getting the entire flight of sauces it really changes the experience and makes it wonderful. We had the mushrooms which were great with fried onion rings on top and we had the Jalapeno mashed potatoes which we really liked. They were not very spicy but spicy enough to be fun. It was my birthday so we had the famous cracker jack Sunday which was very good and we were treated to a opera quality birthday singer see the video attached to this review she was excellent and really had no business working in a restaurant she should be on stage. The prices were right and the room was lovely they have a gigantic seating area upstairs plus a private seating area down in the basement they have another full bar and a gigantic slew of additional tables which they may use for private events or which they open up on weekends there’s also a very large bar upstairs you can eat and all the bars as well highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Excellent service, food as well. I had the seafood tower, branzino and I tried the scallops. A real gem!
Ok, this was definitely my husband's choice because of the steak!! I'm pescetarian. HOWEVER!! Liz, the waiter, was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I felt sorry for her bacause I was so tired from exploring the streets of NY that day, that my energy level was so low, but I loved that it didn't rub off of her! I mean, give the lady a rise! 💵 It it wasn't for her I wouldn't leave this comment. The atmosphere and her serving and energy levels - well, no one can match that! I love the way she approaches guests, her humor and how she's attentive all the time. It really made the whole dinner worth it ❤️ oh yeah, and I loved their chilli lobster! 🔥
I had an amazing time at American Cut! I came on a solo date for their NYC Happy Meal, and it did not disappoint! The highlight of my night was for sure the bartenders, Emilio and Andreas. They were so sweet and professional, and made sure I had an excellent night! Special shoutout to Carlos, Nestor, and Matthew for making me feel so welcome. 15/10 most definitely recommend!
Best steak I’ve had in my entire life, and I have traveled and eaten all over the world! We split a wedge salad to start. For our entree, we ordered the porterhouse with a la crate sides of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Service was impeccable! Many thanks to our server Russel and his support staff. Wines and cocktails were reasonably priced. Definitely worth the price. I actually spent less than we anticipated. This is a great place for date night. Decor, ambience and crowd were exactly as anticipated. We will definitely return.
Every time I dine at American Cut it is wonderful and tonight was no exception. I went with a friend for restaurant week… The waiter was knowledgeable and always there if we needed anything. The food was brought out perfectly- we didn’t feel like we were waiting or being rushed. I already made a reservation to return next week with my husband.
Fancy & cozy steakhouse! The staff is really attentive. We had our old fashioned made table side with cherry wood. And the best part not pictured are the "everything biscuits" as a starter! The steaks are ah-mazing! One of the best I've had in the city!!
Hosted a birthday dinner for a buddy of mine last night here , they were AMAZING AND VERY ACCOMMODATING. I was in the talks with them a week prior , I set this table up for 25 ppl. They were very professional with the response and the quickness of it. Deposit was paid and everything was set. Last night we all had an amazing time , our waitress LIZ was amazing and cheers to her for dealing with 25 drunk men. Steaks were on point !! Everyone’s order came correct and on time. Ambiance- 10/10 Parking - Good Luck Service - Top Notch Food - 10/10 Large Groups - Yes They Carry Creekstone Steaks (inquire)
Their cooking brings out tastes you won't find at other places. The quality shows in the food. The attention shows in the service. The value shows in the price. Employees here displayed authentic kindness. Their service and dishes consistently please. Another meal here is in my plans.
American cut is my favorite happy hour in the city. Something about the way the restaurant is laid out is the best relaxing upscale spot. I’ve brought it countless friends here and they all love it. I am a regular and will continue to be thank you American cut!!!!
Great experience, great food. Strongly recommend. Smoke wagyu was incredible and all entrees and sides were top notch. Great atmosphere and service to go with it all.
American Cut delivers a bold, modern take on the classic steakhouse. The steaks are top-notch—perfectly charred on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with flavor. The signature chili lobster and Caesar salad prepared tableside add a fun, personal touch. Sides like the corn soufflé and crispy potatoes are rich and satisfying. The space feels sleek and vibrant, with great energy and a polished but comfortable vibe. Service is attentive and smooth, matching the quality of the food. A great choice for anyone who loves a lively atmosphere and perfectly cooked steak.
I’ve been going to American Cut for a while now and while the food is amazing, the level of service is what puts this restaurant above the rest. During my latest visit, which was planned last minute, my friends and I just hung out at the bar area which is always a fun scene in itself. We were warmly greeted by Chris (the GM) and Lilly (the Hostess) when we arrived. Everything from the Shrimp Cocktail, Happy Hour Sliders, Truffle Fires, Tuna Tartot (yes, tuna tartar over a tater tot), Pastrami Ribeye and Dry Aged Potatoes were amazing. And ofcourse let’s not forget the cocktails which were made to perfection by Andres and Andrew. What made it more special were the unexpected cracker jack sundaes and piece of cake for my birthday. A very special thank you to Andres for looking after of us. American Cut is lucky to have him. Can’t wait to go back!
This is our second time dining here. We had such a great meal and experience last time that we had to come back, and tonight did not disappoint. My husband was looking forward to the lamb chops since we made our reservation. The food and our server Radish, were excellent! Looking forward to our nex5 visit,!
From the moment we entered on a blisteringly cold evening last night to the moment we left , it was a warm, engaging, and professional experience from the greeters, bartenders, waitstaff, and all! The drinks at the bar were delicious and the food was outstanding. Stephon was our waiter, and he was a top notch. I will recommend others go here and I am amazed that I haven't been in sooner.
Best kept secret in Tribeca! Lots to love about the American Cut. My favorite 2 words "Short & Ribs" I've not had better in NY.. it is drop the mic good as is the Lobster soup... and I dont normally eat Lobster. Finally, if your gluten free... the bread will not disappoint! Bravo American Cut, everytime im in NY this is a must stop.
The server Adrian was amazing. He was attentive and catered to our needs. Dining experience rated 10 out of 10. Favorite dish of the night had to be the desert apple sliced crusted pie with ice cream and caramel drizzle on top. (A different male server noted this dessert is the only day that serves on Thanksgiving). Recipe is difficult to make. I would come back again and recommend anyone visit the American cut. It's an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience.
Hands down one of the most delicious steak houses in NY. We had an office holiday party here and the service was spot on. Liz was our server. She was very attentive to what the full party needed, made sure allergies were taken care of, and never let our glasses run low. The tuna tartare was phenomenal. The steak was cooked to perfection. Some of our favorite sides were the bacon, the cauliflower, and the cream spinach. Highly recommend trying this place.
I really don’t like writing this and have to give a fair review here. Everything was terrific, but my steak. The ribeye was just eh and it should have been the star. Let me explain…. Smoked old fashion smelled and tasted great, bread reminded me of biscuits and was so good along with the butter it came with. French fries had the perfect amount of crisp, salt, truffle and overall flavor; Brussels sprouts with the bits of bacon and mini pearl onions were fantastic. The S&W bacon… still dreaming about it. Shrimps in the shrimp cocktail were enormous and refreshing. I just don’t know what happened to the steak, it really lacked flavor and was a bit overcooked. If you are in the area, consider this steakhouse (hopefully everyone else’s steak will be better). The staff were really good and the restaurant is definitely classy.
The service was amazing and quick, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, the drinks were good as well. I got the beef braised short ribs which was okay, I feel like it lacked A LOT salt. My husband got steak which was very good along with crème brûlée. The dining area was unbearably cold, I probably won’t be back but it was decent experience.
I really liked the ambiance, and the staff were kind and attentive. The food was good (went for restaurant week). Don’t think it was great. The complimentary biscuit and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies are a really nice touch. Loved the biscuit, haven’t had the cookie yet. Caesar salad was delicious. The filet mignon was a tiny bit salty and didn’t have a ton of flavor. It wasn’t quite as tender as I like but still good, took home leftovers. The asparagus and spinach were fine but also not a ton of flavor. My friend got the burger and a couple of the potato sides and seemed to enjoy all of her food. Neither of us tried the cocktails. The cheesecake was yummy and my friend liked the Cracker Jack ice cream dessert. Overall, a cute, comfortable place and the food hit the spot!
Really interesting/modern take on a traditional steakhouse experience. Great dishes and really nice service. Only minor complaints: some dishes (ex - hen of the woods mushroom) are cooked with way too much better or oil, the fire burst effect when your steak arrives is fun but it makes the restaurant hot and your clothes smell, the sides should be bigger given the price tag. The steak is superbly prepared, a true standout. Also really, really loved the “bagel seasoning” table bread.
It’s a solid steakhouse with a nice atmosphere. I treated my dearest friend here and had a nice dinner. Although everything was good, it was a bit well… salty for our tastebuds. Kind of felt bad when we couldn’t finish our plates, it was more like we had 80% leftover… which we had to take-out. Taste is fine! But yeah too salty and greasy to eat in one sitting😅The price is reasonable. It’s better than Wolfgang for sure. I’m not sure the taste is on par with Peter Luger or Ruth Chris though 🤔 To each their own I guess. Also I was already informed of this beforehand so just letting others know that their Medium = Medium Well. So either order the level one up or one below to get your steak perfectly cooked to your own liking.
It just doesn’t serve steak—it orchestrates an indulgent, high-rolling allure with all the swagger of a classic American steakhouse. Dark wood, low lighting, and plush seating. Service was crisp, polished, and anticipatory, embodying the elegance expected of a top-tier steakhouse. The meal kicked off with an everything-flavored biscuit and vegetable butter—warm, flaky, and borderline addictive. A quiet flex from the kitchen. The tuna tar tot arrived looking like a layered art piece—delicate tuna stacked over a crisp tater tot, brightened with soy citrus and avocado. Next came the grilled bacon—a thick, smoky slab of salty indulgence, kissed by the grill and bathed in steak sauce. It was larger than expected, forcing a moment of self-restraint. Then, the steaks. The new york strip played it straight—quality beef cooked right, no frills, no distractions. Meanwhile, the braised beef short rib was fork-tender, luxuriously rich, swimming in a deep cabernet reduction that coated each bite. The underdog of the night with its fall-apart tenderness. For sides, the organic carrots were fresh and fragrant, and the french fries were golden and addictively seasoned. Dessert arrived in style. The flourless chocolate cake was everything a chocolate cake should be—dense, fudgy, unapologetically rich. The strawberry cheesecake was silky and tangy, playing the perfect counterpoint. Both were a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds. American Cut doesn’t reinvent the steakhouse—it refines it, amplifies it, and executes it with precision. From the kitchen to the floor, it’s a well-oiled machine of hospitality and craftsmanship.
First time dining and were very pleased. Great service and food. They got separate GF bread for my daughter!. We started with drinks at happy hour followed by dinner. Tomahawk steak and sides were excellent.
My most recent visit was so disappointing. I had made a 7pm reservation as an early Valentine’s Day dinner with my boyfriend. We got there around 6:50pm and didn’t get seated until another hour later at 7:45pm. We were told they were “running behind” so we just stood and waited until we finally got a table. I ordered the pastrami ribeye, which I had ordered many times before, but it was 50% inedible. I’m aware that it’s a ribeye, and expected marbling, but it was about 40% pure fat (which was inedible) along one side of the bone, and then on another parts it was tough sinew/muscle, which I could not cut through. Altogether, I was able to eat about 25% of my steak. We appreciated that they offered free dessert for us for having us wait, but my experience was just so underwhelming and I felt so dissatisfied. I was excited to bring my partner, who had never been there before, but I’m afraid that this is the last time as the food is just not held to as high standards as it used to be. Additionally, the fact that we had to wait almost a whole HOUR for a scheduled reservation is just wild to me.
Did not meet expectations for an expansive steak house. The service was outstanding, the ambiance was great, but food could be better. We all ordered steak and short ribs, short ribs were great . I ordered new york strip medium and it came well done, they had to change it. While I was looking at our party eating, was waiting for my stake and drooling. When stake came didn't like the taste and it was very salty. Others in our party wasn't pleased with their stake either. It was nothing special and worth 80 $. We also ordered bacon for appetizer ,the bacon was super salty with lots of sauce that we didn't like. Unfortunately we wouldn't come back for dinner and wouldn't recommend it to others. There lots of other great steak houses in the city!
This is a well regarded steak restaurant. The dry aged bone in steak and NY strip are very good. There are also a comprehensive list of wine. Slightly disappointed that we had to wait for more than 45 mins to be seated at the table, considering that we already made an advanced booking
Great looking restaurant and friendly staff. Our server was nice but seemed a bit dull. He was just going about doing his job. The tableside presentation on the tomahawk is nice but the cut of meat we had was overly fatty. We trimmed about a third of fat. The 10oz filet was good and so were the apps and side. Our evening would have been amazing if we had the server at the adjacent table."
1/30/2024 6:30pm party of 4. Arguably one of the worst dining experience I've had in years. I don't frequent this restaurant but have been here a few times in the past and it's sad to say that it come down to this. This place is definitely missing some of the most basic fundamental hospitality. I usually have high tolerance when it comes to dining out because human being do make mistakes but what I despise is a server(B.V) with an attitude. It felt like he was doing us a favor for being our server. The front house staffs should definitely be better trained. Always ask before removing plates from the table, it happened twice that they took the plates away while one of us is still working on it. When it comes to foods both our steaks were overcooked, mac & cheese was hard and dry, burger was under seasoned but the succulent lobster toast, wine by the glass choices and cocktails were highlights of the night. Shortly after our first round of drinks there was a very professional gentleman name Armand presumably one of the managers stop by to greet us but for the next two hour there was not a single staff come by our table to check on us. Everyone basically just drop the foods and leave and we literally have to flag them down for everything else and it wasn’t even a busy night. If you're charging your guests a premium price then you better give them a premium service, simple as that. On the reservation I stated explicitly that I'll pay for the tab and also kindly reminded the hostess upon arrival but the server just drop the check casually on the table at the end of the meal. Clearly lack of communication! For the other two either manager or sommelier, keep your phone in your pocket! It's very unprofessional to check it in the middle of the dining room repeatedly! Totally a front house management failure from the top and an absolutely regrettable dining experience!
We had a very poor experience at American Cut! The service was horrendous. To start, when we arrived and were seated, no one came to our table to give us menus or water or even introduce themselves for at last 20 minutes. Subsequently, no one checked on our table at all throughout the entire meal. We would have liked to order another drink (for example) but we were ignored. We witnessed every table surrounding us have a totally different experience as they were well- tended to. Now in terms of food- We ordered the 40 oz Porterhouse and it was inedible — fatty and you couldn’t even cut through it or chew it. Horrible! And the Valentine’s Day special chocolate mousse was gross! We sent it back and ordered the flourless chocolate cake instead, which we liked. But then the bill comes and we were charged for both desserts. We have dined at numerous steakhouses before, and have never experienced service and quality as poor as this. Very disappointed!
