Everytime I’ve come here weather is to go or stay my belly has left satisfied. Food is amazing with a portion you can’t complain about at such decent price. This is why this place is winning in my eyes. Absolutely love them down. Speaking for myself when i say this place has the best Cuban sandwich and soups. Today I will be trying there to chuLeta and white rice with red beans.
Lovely Dominican diner and the food was incredible. Everything tasted so good and had that true Dominican flavor. Our server was very nice and courteous as well. I ordered the chicarron with rice and beans and tostones. The chicarron had the perfect amount of crunch on the outside and tenderness in the middle.
I’ve tried mofongo at countless places, but this restaurant is simply unmatched! The flavors are rich, authentic, and absolutely unforgettable. The plantains were perfectly mashed, with just the right amount of garlic and seasoning. The portions are generous, and each bite bursts with mouthwatering goodness. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. If you’re craving the best mofongo in the city, look no further—this place is a must-visit! Five stars without a doubt!
Very nice ambient they even sang happy birthday to my husband with a super delicious 4 leches! The waitresses 2 are impressive over 22 tables and they serve them all And treat everyone with kindness and at the same time…
you forgot my beans! my order came out to 36.00 for 1 person. c'mon the best part was my pink beans.. but over all the food was delish. this was recommended by my fellow colleagues..
I had mofongo for breakfast for lack of a place nearby where I could eat Ecuadorian bolon (which is kind of the same but with tons of cheese). The mofongo satisfied my craving of green plantain for breakfast and the coffee was very delicious. The waitresses are super sweet too. I'd gladly be back.
I ordered the chicken soup, the Dominican version of the cubano sandwich and a chicken mofongo. All the food tasted amazing! The waitress was helpful and kind. I brought my own avocado and she got me a better knife. (where I live the avocados do not taste right and are the ones with the bumpy skin) I was feeling homesick and this place cured me.
I have just moved to Chelsea from queens and have been looking for a Dominican spot for some time now.. last week I was sick and was craving a sancocho my tias would make growing up.. ordered from jagua for the best time and my heart and belly was so full! Tasted just like my childhood. Today I ordered the classic tres golpes desayuno. I will have to go the the restaurant in person now because the food is absolutely delicious! 10/10 no notes 💜
Absolutely delicious, so much food I had a food coma right after, easily 5000 calories per dish. Worth it. I had the ox tail and the chicharrón, with a morir soñando and presidente beer. The service is fast, even though the restaurant was packed, they were able to sit us as a party of six. Also great playlist!
This spot has a nostalgic atmosphere to me. The food was great, felt like my grandma made my dish. What’s a Spanish meal without a side salad tho? Iykyk! I would definitely come here again! If you want white rice don’t go at the end of day like I did! White rice was out but that’s all good, food still slapped! If you’re in the LES you should definitely EAT HERE for authentic Spanish food!

Casual dining. Had the lunch special and Cubano. Lunch special portion is generous, juicy chicken on fluffy yellow rice with well cooked beans. Cubano pork was very tasty and the sandwich was properly pressed but was missing yellow mustard. Service was fast and friendly.
The food is authentic, and the staff are very nice. We went on a Friday around 7:30p and it was pretty full which is a good sign. I would have given this place 5 stars across the board, but a few things took away from that: 1. It was my first time eating here. Came with co-workers who frequent this place. They don't have beers listed on the menus, so you just have to know about them. 2. Apparently, they usually serve bread to every table before each meal comes out, but we didn't get that. Even asked for it, but it never arrived. 3. I ordered a roasted chicken sandwich, but was informed that they were out of chicken (which is odd since at least half of their menu items are chicken). 4. After settling for the pork sandwich, but no mayo, and it was very dry (maybe that's why they included the mayo) and while the bread was thoroughly toasted, I could tell it was also a bit stale due to the way it crumbled. 5. It seemed to take a while to get out our food, which was essentially 3 sandwiches, and 2 were the same order. Nice staff, decent prices, gif location, friendly atmosphere, and decent food. I just wouldn't go out of the way, or recommend it as a spot. There are much better places in the neighborhood.
Truly a neighborhood gem. Visited here many times and never disappointed. Great prices and consistently great prices. I usually get the chicken chunks (boneless) but I had the chicken mofongo instead, my friend ordered the cheese monfongo. My mofongo was great, wasn’t expecting to have two nicely fried pieces of chicken as a garnish, I also like that the mofongo portion wasn’t huge and comes with a side of salad (great for such a carb-heavy dish). Great flavors, but would’ve loved to taste a bit more garlic. The consumé that comes with the mofongo adds all the flavor you need. Service was okay, atmosphere is nice and it’s great that they accept card and cash.
Good food for a decent price. Tradional breakfasts here. Very well prepared and the service is excellent. I don't think I ever had corn pancakes before which I find delicious. We weren't the biggest fans of the smashed plantains. Kind of grits but made with green plantains. Overall a good eating experience.
Good food a reasonable price. My colleague ordered traditional Dominican food, which they loved, and I went for the more adventurous side and got a secret Dominican Cuban sandwich. The setup feels more for dining in than ordering out. If you are in a rush, I would recommend ordering in advance as the food takes some time to come out.
Ok so, of course I am a little biased with Dominican food since it's what I was raised with. But, I can tell when the taste is reasonably fair or if it's a fake. This one passed the test and I can at…

I had the chicken soup with white rice on the side, the soup was very good and the rice was perfect. The atmosphere does feel alittle too plain, they tried to spruce it up with holiday decorations but there’s something about it I can’t put my finger on that it’s missing
Ordered adobo wings, def not as advertised. Not golden brown, more like dark brown from not cooking in a clean oil. Place does seem solid just the wings not even coming close to what they advertise…
Be careful with the lunch specials. The server conveniently "forgot" to mention that the oxtail wasn't included in the specials even though I specifically asked for a list of lunch specials and it was on that list. I ended up paying 2x nore for my lunch than I expected and oxtail was nothing special. I won't be eating here again.
Ordered delivery from Castillo de Jagua and honestly it was disappointing. The portions were tiny for the price, and the food showed zero effort—bland, under-seasoned, and felt thrown together. This used to be a dependable spot, but lately the quality just isn’t there. For what they charge, you expect flavor and a decent serving, not this. Definitely not worth it.
