Incredible coffee shop where the food is great and the company is even better! I brought my dog to the dog friendly area and it was just a $5 fee. Must have vaccines and it is such a cozy vibe to do work or hang out! Must come for all dog lovers!!!
Amazing coffee shop! Carol and team have the best customer service and coffee. They serve Devocion! They go the extra mile: I cut myself and needed a bandaid, and they found me one. Plus the dogs are super cute and brighten any day!
Heaven on earth! Devocion coffee, extensive food menu, and pups all around. It’s a $5 experience fee for “groups” - so solo, pair, party of 6 will all pay the same. Service is slightly slow, but the dogs make up for it. Coffee was a bit watery (needed less milk, more coffee), but the dogs make up for it. Wifi was good. Plenty of seating. Great place to work!! Will say, the food was pretty greesy / oily. Makes me nervous to fully explore the food menu… (we ordered chicken farro bowl)
Great service. Went to a Lady & the tramp event and was well taken care of with my pup. The setup was lovely. Along with the pup menu, dog menu and table setups. My pup loved the squash and meatballs. Tiramisu was great as well. Loved the photo op. Always liked coming here. They've always been good to my pup and very accommodating.
Genuinely heaven on earth. I love love love dogs even though I’m not able to have one (yet) so coming here and playing with random dogs is so fun and awesome. It’s such a nice idea
Recently under a new ownership and have a lot of new offerings. Got a small dog and it's fun to bring him over and hangout here to get some drinks and early cocktails. They also get the new yappy hours with 2 dollars off cocktail and brunch specials like croissant french toast.
Love this place! I don’t even have a dog, but love it here. The food is delish, iced coffee amazing, and the pups are the cutest to watch. Will be back here often.
They have great hospitality and my almondmilk cappuccino was great. It's a good working environment if you don't mind some music (on low volume). I also loved watching the dogs in the other room.
Best dog friendly spot in the city! As a dog "uncle" i love being able to pop in for a little doggie time, stay cool or warm up, and have some tasty treats. Service and staff is friendly, efficient, and easy. Dogs can be off leash in half the area, and there's lots of regulars. I really liked the iced teas, cocktail options, and the pesto mozzarella was delicious! Looking forward to my next visit!
This place is heaven on earth. Finally a place where my fur baby and I can go and enjoy a beer or coffee. Staff was overly accommodating and location was clean. Only wished they had a location in Park Slope !!
Devociõn coffee is incredible. Breakfast burrito is mouth-watering with a subtle kick. Service is super friendly and accommodating. And what's better than dining with well-behaved pups??? Boris & Horton is an uplifting way to start the day!
What an amazing place to eat and drink while playing with doggies. Great selection of coffee, food, beer and doggie treats. B&H also hosts events to adopt rescue dogs. This is such an amazing place for coffee and dog lovers.
This cafe is suuuuper cute! The owner is so nice! She has great energy and says hi to every guest! I like that there is a dog only area where dogs can roam freely and you can hang out with them just for $5 extra! But if you just want to be on your own, there’s a nice quiet spot for that as well. I love the music is subtle in the background, not too loud but enough for the vibe while you can still read or get in your zone.
What an absolutely incredible place to hang out if you love dogs. I brought my well behaved pup and my computer and spent the afternoon working from here. They were so welcoming and everyone hanging there was very nice. I started the morning with a coffee and then in the afternoon, I had the gluten-free toast with hummus and roasted tomatoes. Incredibly fresh and flavorful! Looking forward to bringing my dog back!
I’m so glad that Boris & Horton reopened. I stopped by with my dogs, and I gotta say… it was SO GOOD. The food and pastries are AMAZING. I got a cheese chocolate croissant, which I finished in seconds. I didn’t even know that I had chocolate on the sides of my mouth until my partner pointed them out. Also, their farro bowl is a must get. It came out very quickly after ordering. I got it for myself, but my partner asked if he could have some after seeing/smelling it. The dogs at the cafe were all well-mannered, and the owners were definitely very attentive to their dog, making sure that they’re not creating chaos. There is a small add on fee now, which is $5 service fee on the order. Honestly, I don’t mind as I find it reasonable. Don’t forget to tip! Go Boris & Horton 👏🎊
This café is pet-friendly with reliable WiFi, so you can get work done while petting the dogs with their silky fur. The coffee is delicious. The overall environment is clean, despite being pet-friendly, making it one of my favorite cafes in New York. The only thing to watch out for is that the dog clothes and toys they sell are just too cute, which might lead to accidentally overspending.

I was here photographing a Met Through Friends dating event and the staff was so kind! Their space is great and set up perfectly. So glad they were able to stay in business!
This place is the best — one of the few spots in the city where you can truly unwind indoors with your pup. Relieved that it stayed open under new management. I would miss it dearly if it closed for good.

The most fun place ever! Coffee was great and the atmosphere is so fun! If you love dogs, this is the place to come! It was so incredible to sit and enjoy our coffees while pups are running about. Feels like heaven!
Boris & Horton – A Dog-Friendly Café Experience in NYC I recently visited Boris & Horton in the East Village with my daughter and our Yorkiepoo, Missy. I love the idea of a café where you can bring your dog and enjoy a meal in a fun, pet-friendly atmosphere—it’s such a unique experience in the city. I had the chicken patty with black rice and lamb with vegetables, along with a refreshing apple juice. My daughter ordered a bowl with chicken, and she really liked it. We also treated Missy to a dog-friendly cupcake, which was a sweet touch. The space was clean and had a relaxed, community feel. You can tell it's a place made for dog lovers. Now, while I appreciated the freedom for dogs to roam, that part came with some challenges. A few larger dogs walked up to our table while we were eating and tried to get at our food. Unfortunately, not all owners were mindful of their pets, which made things a bit uncomfortable. Missy, who isn’t used to being around a lot of dogs, stayed quietly in her bag next to me the whole time. Overall, I’d definitely visit again—just maybe during a quieter time of day. If you have a social dog and want a chill place to grab a bite, Boris & Horton is a great option. I just wish more dog owners would keep an eye on their pups so everyone can enjoy their meals in peace.
We finally checked out the reopening of Boris & Horton. There’s two separate rooms and entrances, one for humans and one for dogs. I liked how they have a controlled door where you can enter one at a time for the safety of dogs. When we entered, tbh, it was a bit chaotic. It was filled with both people and dogs, but more people than dogs. It was super loud in there and not a lot of space for dogs to roam around. There were a couple of people without dogs dining and felt a bit uncomfortable because my pup likes to jump up on the table and smell/eat the food, so I felt a bit uneasy because I didn’t want my pup to disturb them. There was also a big group that was celebrating a birthday, which was not the dog’s birthday but the owner’s (I just don’t think it’s the right place to have one, tbh). However, I did really enjoy the cold brew and cheese danish, but dogs aren’t allowed in the other room where you have to pick up the order. I felt uncomfortable leaving my pup alone in the other room, so you’ll want to have someone else with you at the time to watch your dog. My pup loved eating the pup cake, which they had a variety of along with pupper cups. On the other hand, it was cool to see my pup’s picture being selected to be hung on the bathroom wall. We’ll definitely be back, but at a time when it’s not too busy.

A dog-lover’s heaven where there are puppers all over the place! Great for both dog owners to socialize their pups and non-dog-owners to be surrounded by adorable vibes! Though I recommend if coming here to do work on your laptop, either wear headphones or not do serious, concentration-needed work since it is VERY easily to get distracted by the dogs and noise. (When new dogs enter, it easily gets loud from the dogs barking until they do their butt-sniffs with each other.) If you’re used to the noise/chaos, or simply want to chat with friends and dog-watch/pet, this is the place to be! Otherwise, very delicious and filling food options, along with great drinks!
Really fun experience! Only strange thing was how the dogs do their needs just about anywhere and the workers had to warn us about our bags on the floor. Workers are pretty attentive and try to tidy up. Overall nice for a cup of coffee and a fuzzy friend to pet.
Unfortunately I've been there twice and both times the staff have been rude and have a really off-putting vibe. It seems like they only are nice to you if you bring a dog. As a dog lover and someone who misses their passed dog and wants to be around dogs, this is extremely disappointing. The first time I was there, a staff member came up to me and said "We're having an [Insert Event here] in this area." That's it. Not an "I'm sorry miss, can I please ask you to move your seat, we're having an event. Thanks so much." Just "we're having an event" which felt like I was being kicked out of the entire place. The next time, I purchased food (not good, btw) and the extra $5 to sit in the dog area and sat down to do some work. A staff member came up to me and said they were going to "crack down on the laptops''...okay. I thought this was a cafe and I don't appreciate paying an exorbitant amount of money just to be told how I can and can't spend my time in the cafe. Implement a clear no-laptop policy if that's going to be a rule, don't just enforce it on the fly. It seems that rude staff is a pretty common experience based on other reviews. I understand it's a new business and it's probably stressful to work around barking dogs all day, but based on my past two experiences it seems like they prioritize dog owners and are sneering and looking at you weird if you don't bring a dog there and just want to hang out. Kind of like "a what are you doing here" vibe. Sad to say I won't be back because I love the dogs.
