The food is amazing when I get sick I always get the chicken soup. Its the best soup I ever had in my life. Helped me get better, it is soo good! My recommendations: Pozole verde Flautas of beef Torta of milanesa Enchilas of Mole All of them are very tasty and my favorite are the micheladas. they are the best in New York. I fell in love with the micheladas
The place was a bit small and everyone was sitting on one side when the other was completely empty. Great food-Great service
Great spot! And they actually stay open until 11 :) we loved the tacos and guac
We have had the pleasure of dining here many times over the last several years and have always (always!) had not only a wonderful, authentic, homemade-quality Mexican meal, but have had top-shelf service by Carmen and the rest of her staff. It’s like walking into the home of your favorite aunt and uncle who are from the south of Mexico and make fantastic meals! The quesadillas and tacos are great for lunch and quick bites; the fajitas and birria platters are phenomenal for a more filling meal; we’re big fans of the spicy margaritas, but all of their drinks have been delicious. It’s a cozy spot but with enough room for families, happy hour get-togethers, and outdoor seating for pretty days. If you’re looking for an authentic, non-chain, legit homemade Mexican food experience, look no further!
The service is friendly and the food is delicious, you can accompany your dinner with a margarita or a Mexican beer, you can be or order to take away I tried a dish called pipian and it was excellent! They also have vegan and very fresh options.!! I will definitely return.!
The most authentic and best quality Mexican food I have had in the neighborhood. I am so happy with Sabor A Mexico II. They are not afraid to include traditional dishes like mole and pozole because they actually know how to make them. You can also order cafe de olla (traditional coffee) and delicious desserts like tres leches cakes. The restaurant is cozy and beautiful for dinner alone or with a special someone. They also have a great selection of spirits for coctelitos fyi 👀
Stumbled upon this place a few years ago and enjoyed it so much we had to return during our latest trip to NYC. It's a small spot with cozy vibes. We ordered tacos and margaritas and everything was delicious! A little bit pricey but worth it to us. Service was also great. Will be back again!
The food here is absolutely amazing and so filling. I was blown away by this authentic Mexican cosine. We had the fish tacos and flautas meal. The ambiance is very calm and inviting like having dinner at your best friends home. The service was impeccable our server was very attentive and so polite.
We love the little hidden gem/hole in the wall. We really enjoyed the tostas and tacos, that with a 1/2 pitcher of sangria and 1 margarita but thought $97 was a little expensive being off a main street.
The food was OK. There is no customer service. As a party of one who dined inside (only customer, by the way), I had to request everything (water, water refill, to place an order, alcoholic beverage refill, additional food, and the check)! I ordered rice, beans, Traditional shrimp tacos (not to be confused with street tacos) & two margaritas. I even witnessed a patron who dined outside bring in their used plates. The staff was very concerned with decorating for Day of the Dead. I didn't feel appreciated for supporting their business. I would not recommend this place but rather Chipotle for the taste/service/value.
We went there after hearing about how good the food was. When we got there it was empty which was great and air conditioning was nice. My girlfriend ordered Cozumel nachos without beans and onions, and jalapeño, I had the tomales and a burrito. The nachos showed up and it had sour cream and onions and jalapeño and NO GUACAMOLE!! And the cheese was terrible which was not cheddar cheese. My burrito was large but tasteless but the tomale was good. This restaurant was one and done, and when she told the waiter about the order he said thanks and still charged full price!!!
Well, today we went to eat here. The place is way too small if you come in groups. In our case, we ate in the afternoon, but we didn’t like how the waiter treated us because he didn’t let us sit at other tables. He said that if we sat at another table, he would have to clean more, but we were six people, and the tables only seat two. However, they wanted to seat four at a table when there was no need for that because the restaurant was empty 😒. Also, the food seemed expensive and not of very good quality. The grilled meat was very dry.
Absolutely a scam. 18 bucks for a torta made with a roll that you can get at the supermarket for a quarter
We specifically went to this Mexican restaurant because we work nearby, and another girl who works there often comes to the bar where we work. My boyfriend is Mexican and she’s always very kind — she recommended the place, saying the food was really good. Today, before starting our shift, we went there specifically to have pozole. We didn’t have much time, but unfortunately, the person who served us was quite rude and seemed very unwilling to help. We waited over 20 minutes just for the pozole, and since we were running out of time, we had to ask for it to go. The experience wasn’t pleasant, and sadly, I doubt we’ll go back. It’s disappointing because the place looks really nice.
Beware if you’re a minority. Considering this place is owned by minorities, you’ll face judgement and feel the racism. We were in a group of 3 and we got sat in the corner of the restaurant. One of the seats were all the way by the wall so you had to go over one chair to get to the other. Second, we weren’t even given a menu. They gave us ONE to go menu. A white couple came in after us and they were immediately greeted and given a dine in menu. It was by our facial expressions that they realized they probably should give us a dine in menu :). It only took them 5 minutes to give it to us. Third, my friend ordered nachos with queso. They brought out a plate of chips with some melted Kraft cheese on top. This clearly wasn’t what she asked for and we overheard them talking in Spanish about the order. When they realized we heard them they tried clarifying saying that “In this restaurant we do it differently yadda yadda yadda.” Luckily they didn’t charge my friend for that abomination. Then, when we were going to pay, they failed to mention that there’s a $10-15 minimum on card. When I was paying, I emphasized that I wanted to pay using credit, but it kept asking me for a pin. The woman was rude about it, not being understanding saying “well I don’t know what you want me to do.”, not offering another solution. NEVER will spend my time and money at this horrible racist establishment ever again. Please don’t waste your time.
