Great pre-theater restaurant. Attentive staff didn't rush us while also serving us in a timely way to get to the play on time. Two of us had the restaurant week specials, and one had a regular meal. The shrimp scampi was fabulous, as was the eggplant rollotini appetizer. (I would've been happy just sopping up the vodka sauce!) Loved the mini olive oil can for the bread. And the desserts were delicious! The minestrone in a bread bowl was the only disappointment: it had zucchini, onions, and carrots....no beans or pasta so I'm not sure how minestrone was defined.
The service and food were amazing! We went for my mom’s birthday and they sung her happy birthday. The atmosphere felt really nice, our waiters were great and everything we ordered came out in a flash. Would recommend and can’t wait to go again!
The whole staff is very welcoming and are lovely people. The food here is amazing, including the drinks. Time passes when you’re here, specially when having casual drinks with friends. David is passionate about his job and does an amazing job at the bar. My whole experience was unique and amazing. I recommend bringing all loved ones here.
Excellent Italian restaurant. Easy walk from a Broadway show. The food is wonderful and the service is impeccable. It was amazing how quickly the food came out to the table. This is a definitely one we will return to next time in NYC.
Great atmosphere with authentic Italian eats and refreshing drinks. Their outside sitting area is incredibly delightful and quiet during the outdoor season!
We sat on the patio for dinner. Roberto was wonderful. He even lit up when I responded to him in Italian! I ordered a Ginger Smash and by golly the pineapple complements the bourbon so well. I also ordered the Spagetti Carbonara and the homemade pasta was expertly al dente and the guanciale added the perfect amount of saltiness. Would highly recommend.
We stopped in for dinner before our show, and they’re clearly well-prepared for pre-theater crowds. Most guests were also heading to performances, and our server made sure we stayed perfectly on schedule. We went with the $45 Restaurant Week menu. The tuna carpaccio was quite bland and lacked flavor, but the meatballs were solid. The short ribs were missing some juiciness and seasoning, while the lasagna was enjoyable. Desserts were excellent, and the $25 bottle specials for Restaurant Week were a nice touch. Overall, it worked well as a pre-show spot.
I consider this restaurant to be the perfect spot for Italian food if you’re near Times Square or heading to a Broadway show. From the moment we arrived, the experience was excellent. The host was extremely friendly, and we really appreciated hearing the backstory about the restaurant, its origins, and the family that owns it, it added such a personal touch. All of the staff was absolutely fantastic and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our server made excellent recommendations, and everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed both the food and drinks. One staff member even offered us complimentary shots at the end of the meal, which was such a fun and unexpected gesture. The complimentary bread service was incredible, easily some of the best bread I’ve had in New York. You can truly tell that the pasta is freshly made and that high-quality ingredients are used throughout the menu. Another big plus was how quickly the food came out, which is especially important if you’re trying to make it to a Broadway show on time. The atmosphere was intimate and welcoming, making you feel right at home. We really enjoyed our time here and would absolutely come back to try more dishes. Highly recommend.
We absolutely loved our meal at Sicily Osteria! We are politely and professionally greeted the minute we walked into the door. We were seated very promptly as per our reservation time. Our server Roberto was the best! He answered all our questions about the menu respectfully and with a smile. He was very professional and personable. The food was absolutely delicious. We were in awe over the meatball appetizer. The sword fish special was out of this word. We also tremendously enjoyed the chicken parm entree. The fish and chicken were both extremely soft and fresh. Probably the best dinner we ever had in New York City. We ordered the pistachio cheesecake and cappuccino for desert - we were very glad we did because it was a great way to end our meal. The ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect. Very quant and beautiful. There are a lot of dining options in NYC, but this place is not to be missed.
10 out of 10 for the food and the charm. Don’t miss the signature lemon dessert. Get the cesarecce: fluffy pork sausage is incredibly aromatic and the pasta with red sauce cooked to perfection. A citrusy Caesar salad to start. Tiger prawns like I’ve never seen before. I can’t wait to go back. Shout out to our girl Patty.
Sicily is a hidden gem that instantly transports you to a sun-soaked village in southern Italy the moment you walk through the door. The atmosphere feels warm and authentic—rustic décor, soft music, and the kind of charm that makes you forget you’re still in the city. Every dish bursts with flavor and freshness, but the bread and olive oil alone could be a reason to come back; they’re simply phenomenal, rich and perfectly balanced. The service is impeccable—attentive without being intrusive, and delivered with genuine warmth. Sicily isn’t just a restaurant; it’s an experience that captures the heart and soul of southern Italy in every detail.
The pasta dishes are very unique. The potato croce were good but they needed something acidic. The pesto didn't do it. The arancino (note it's not plural as it usually is seen) was tasty enough and big for being 1 bell shaped rice ball. The spaghetti chittara had a decent amount of crab meat and am interesting combination of textures: cream sauce, flaky crab, spaghetti noodle, and crunchy pistachio. The casarecce sauce was delicious and very meaty. The limone sicilia dessert was gorgeous and delicious. It's very tart, which I like in my lemon dishes. The only disappointment was the pana de casa. We paid for the bread because it looked amazing, but everyone around us got a different complimentary basket of bread. The pana was smaller than expected and very dense and very floral with rosemary. I think I would have preferred the rustic ciabatta everyone else had.
First time here and absolutely blown away! We wandered in before seeing Chicago because it looked so cute, and it turned out to be the best Italian restaurant we’ve been to in the city. From the moment we walked in, the maître d’ was warm and welcoming, and every staff member made us feel at home. I had the rigatoni with vodka sauce—hands down incredible. For dessert, the pistachio lava cake was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. What a great experience all around. Such a gem on Restaurant Row—what a find! We’ll definitely be back!!
Came on my own for a "splurge" dinner before a show and it was fabulous. Friendly, attentive waitstaff. Nice atmosphere with bar area, more formal dining room, as well as outdoor patio. Food was superb! Came back 2 nights later with husband after a show for our anniversary dinner. Again, everything was top-notch! Great selection of food. Housemade sauces, pastas, gelato and desserts. Highly recommend!

Excellent, taken care of, food tasty, Roberto took care of us, no rush, home safe feeling good food. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait for next time
Roberto was a fantastic server and the food was delicious. A bustling atmosphere made it all perfect! Our favorite was the lemon dessert.
We had a great time here before going to see a show! The food and atmosphere was excellent. Roberto made our experience memorable and so so lovely! I can’t wait to return
Roberto and company treated us to a lovely post-show dinner! Fabulous service, delicious branzino, and al dente pasta that was cooked to perfection. What a find!
Visited last week around 5:45 pm. Place was a bit loud from the crowd and background music, but cleared out around 6:30 pmish due to theatre crowd leaving. Food amount and quality was just right for us and we had a good time. Bathrooms down stairs with individual rooms and shared wash area outside with towel attendant.
I had a decent experience here. The cocktails were excellent (Mint Condition, A+) and my partner really enjoyed the gnocchi. Unfortunately, my cacio e pepe seemed like it had sat for a while before being served, as it was congealed and had barely any sauce. That was a pretty big bummer for a simple, $28 dish. The service was great, but I wish my meal had been better.
Despite what it says on Google, it’s Best to make a reservation if you’re dining pre-theater. Be aware that the NYC Restaurat Week menu is NOT available from 5-7pm. The food was very good, though not necessarily Italian, let alone Sicilian. My dinner companion started with the crab cakes. There were two decent sized crab cakes with a corn salad — something I’ve never seen in Italy. Just polenta. The crab cakes were excellent. I had the grilled octopus which also was a generous portion. It was grilled and simply dressed with olive oil and lemon juice. It was over a salad of wild rice and dried cranberries, again something I’ve never seen in Italy. For a main course, my companion had the shrimp scampi which was served with broccoli rabe. He had expected linguine or some pasta. The food was delicious and again the portions were generous. I had the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and lemon potatoes. Not at all Italian, but delicious and, again great portions. (Though there could have been more chimichurri sauce.) My companion’s tiramisu was mediocre. It was the pastry chef’s reinvention of tiramisu that included rather crispy ladyfingers on the outside with a paucity of filling. On the other hand, my Torta Setteveli was a very rich chocolate concoction with chocolate mousse, a cocoa frosting and hazelnuts. The service was very attentive. The spaces between the tables were filled with waitstaff. The restaurant was quite noisy. It averaged 79 dB which is considered loud. It was hard to hold a conversation. Most of the noise was from people speaking loudly to be heard. There was some background music you could barely hear.
Short Take: Pretty standard Italian spot — the food tastes good, just not amazing. Food 🍽️: Solid overall, definitely above average but not mind-blowing. Service 🤝: Super friendly and attentive, just what you’d expect in most NYC places in this price range. Ambience ✨: Classic Italian vibe. Tables and chairs are fine. If you’re sitting near the entrance, just be aware it can get a bit chilly when the door keeps opening — nothing the restaurant can really control. :-) Price–Performance ⚖️: In my opinion, the prices are a bit high for the quality you get — plus the automatic 20% tip added on top. Highlight / Note 📌: Overall, a good Italian spot but not a standout. You’ll enjoy your meal, but it’s probably not one of those places you feel the need to go back to. Wishing them lots of success going forward. :-) Who it’s for: Date, family, friends, business
Two of us got a last-minute reservation for 8:30 PM on a Sunday evening. We were seated within five minutes of arriving and had the beautiful patio table seating. The serving staff were accommodating and helpful and not too overbearing. It did take us a while to get menus and our bill. We ordered the three course dinner special from the weekly menu. It came in good time and had good flavor. I wouldn’t say this is the best Italian I’ve ever had however it was pretty good and presentation and environment really were a nice touch. We did use the ladies restroom inside and downstairs. It was clean. Overall, I think this is a great environment for a quiet evening out for friends or your significant other.
Was not that much of a fan of the food. I had their fettuccine mushroom and it could've been better in taste and their Verde salad was okay. Service was good and I might return to try again but it could be better for sure. Brussels were burnt too even though I was told it was caramelized and, just was not a big fan. For a drink, for sure.

Wouldn't let my daughters sit together, food took 48.42 minutes, terrible service, and I found a hair in my bread! The food is wonderful though. My daughter says that the ambiance wasn't good.

Fast and fresh pasta. You can't go wrong with that. I was a solo diner so I was able to sit at the bar immediately. I was well taken care of and truly enjoyed my meal.

I would say this was a okay (ultimately forgettable) experience for dinner on restaurant row. The food was alright enough but, I think the only item I would recommend or order again is the Casarecce (pasta dish). The desserts were a big let down for me; neither had any flavor balance just one note (sweet or sour depending on what you order) and some crunchy stuff at the bottom of the plate. Unfortunetely, the service was not good either. I had to bother the waiters three times for water, no one checked if we liked our food, and someone near us had a terrible time with their food (they sent it back and left immediately). I didnt feel taken care of.
I wanted to love Sicily Osteria even more — and honestly, I still kind of do. They were out of Woodford (a heartbreak I’m still processing), but the food did its best to console me. The lasagna was OK, the chicken parm was OK — solid, comforting Italian classics that did their job. Once our meal was over, we waited a bit for the bill, but to be fair, everyone had gotten there before the show, so they were clearly in the middle of dinner rush madness. The staff still managed to stay friendly and composed, which earns them big points in my book. All in all, even with a missing bourbon and a busy night, Sicily Osteria has charm — the kind of place you want to root for. Five stars for good vibes, carbs, and perseverance under pressure. 🍝🥖🥃
This is a cute restaurant with very nice outdoor seating. The interior looks good. Service was prompt. Unfortunately it was very difficult to carry on a conversation. The noise level was high and was made worse by a guy two tables away speaking very loudly trying to impress his date. The food was a disappointment. I had the veal which looked good but lacked flavor. A simple salt shaker would have helped. It was a bland meal. My wife ordered the Margarita pizza. When it came with no basil she was told they did not have any but then returned with a plate with basil leaves. My wife is a plain eater and she said the pizza lacked taste. The bread was served with a small tin of olive oil on the table. Pepper would have been nice. Perhaps we just made the wrong meal choices.
