Made a stop to the Skylark Rooftop Bar on a Friday evening and this was a great start the NYC weekend. The food was great. Buffalo chicken sliders and fries were a nice filler. The spicy ketchup was plus too. Of course the views of midtown Manhattan from here are worth the visit. Good cocktails and deejays. I love the vibe of this location. I know some were disappointed with service, but we we were treated great and had no reservation. We actually was told we could have a high top table for a short while due to a later reservation for others, however, we were later told to stay as long as we want and we did! You gotta vibe at this spot when in Midtown. Note that this location is only Monday thru Friday unless you have it reserved for the weekend.
The Skylark Rooftop Bar is an absolute gem. From the moment you arrive, the experience is exceptional—excellent customer service starts right at ground level with the doorman and stays consistent all the way to the top. The rooftop itself is stunning, with breathtaking views that make you want to pause and soak it all in before even taking a sip. The vibe is flawless: stylish, energetic, and effortlessly upscale without feeling pretentious. I had the pleasure of visiting for the first time a few weeks ago with two close friends, and it was one of those nights you immediately know you’ll be talking about later. The food was delicious, the drinks were expertly crafted, and everything felt thoughtfully curated. Every staff member was attentive, warm, and genuinely welcoming, which elevated the entire experience. The Skylark is the perfect blend of ambiance, flavor, and service—and I absolutely can’t wait to go back.
we had soo much fun here!!! i was worried that we’d have to ask for a table with views but literally every single table has a wonderful view. the table setup is immaculate and it was so easy to find the entrance. my parents and i had a wonderful time! the food and drinks were both wonderful! the chicken sliders were actually one of the best i’ve ever had. the sauce was spicy and the chicken was not skimpy. it was crispy and juicy and just big enough for the buns. it was accompanied with a nice tangy pickle and a crunchy lettuce. my favorite drink was the pear drink! it was lovely! it tasted like fruit and cinnamon and probably one of the best mixed drinks i’ve had. the hostess and the guy running the coat closet were SO nice. the bathroom attendant was a little scary tho
I may be skewed in vision because I'm from Jersey. On my Walk with me NYC tour this was my favorite. Out of the three rooftops I visited by far this place won. The music (sound system) and live DJ mix on a Friday night was great. The food was tasty and good portion for tapa style eating. We were celebrating a birthday and they literally said they had the best drink of their life and they have had some life experience. This is a no Brainer, you know the view is great. Enjoy!
Gorgeous spot! We were a group of five and didn’t have a reservation. They offered us a table indoors, but we were really hoping to sit out on the rooftop. We had to wait a bit, but it wasn’t bad at all—we spent the time snapping sunset pics and enjoying the view 😁📸 The cocktails were solid, and we got the mini burgers and fries—both hit the spot. That skyline view? Chef’s kiss. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into chill rooftop vibes with tasty bites and a killer sunset
Great views of the city and Empire State Building. This is a high end bar with bar snacks food menu. Highly recommend for a special occasion or date night. Enjoyed a wonderful time for a friends birthday. Food and cocktails are served quickly, good attentive service. 10/10 stars! One of the top places for cocktails and food in the Times Square area. No huge crowds of tourist which was nice and different for this area. Suggest reservations ahead of time.
We needed to kill some time before the Lady Gaga show at MSG. It was a quick walk. The signage was great… You can’t miss it. The doorman behind the velvet rope was so so warm and welcoming! There is a smart-casual dress code, FYI. Follow the signs, take an elevator ride, climb a couple flights of stairs, and you are enjoying the NY skyline and Empire State Building view from the rooftop bar. Drinks were delicious and the view was spectacular. We didn’t order food. We didn’t feel rushed.
Great rooftop bar with a nice view and great ambiance. The food is limited to small bites, but the cocktails are good. The service is polite, though if you don’t have a table reservation, you’ll likely have to stand by the bar or sit at one of the large high-top tables—where there is no table service, so you’ll need to order at the bar. There is a coat check.
If you’re looking for an experience and to try delicious cocktails - this bar is the one. I can’t wait to go back! We loved the watermelon cocktail, forgot the name. The view is awesome, they have shoot pool and several photo spots where you can get photos with the view without disturbing other guests
I came to Skylark with a couple of friends to enjoy the atmosphere, and this place did not disappoint! Having a reservation is a smart move but not really needed. Once you are upstairs, you get seated and attended to very promptly. I ended up having a couple of drinks and the fried cauliflower. The cauliflower was a bit oily, but the taste was good. The real plus of this place is the outside deck area. If you want to take pictures it was a nice spot but way too many influencer types. I will definitely be coming back again.
The Skylark offers a sophisticated atmosphere with stunning views of Manhattan's iconic skyline. The ambiance is luxurious yet cozy, making it an ideal spot for both intimate gatherings and lively nights out. The cocktails are expertly crafted, and the small plates are both flavorful and well-presented. However, during our visit, we experienced intermittent connectivity issues with the music, resulting in a choppy audio experience that was somewhat uncomfortable. Despite this minor setback, The Skylark remains a top choice for those seeking an upscale rooftop experience in NYC.
The Skylark offers truly stunning views of the Manhattan skyline — absolutely perfect for a date night, a catch-up with friends, or simply treating yourself. The ambiance is elegant yet relaxed, and the service was consistently attentive and professional. As for pricing, I won’t comment on whether it’s affordable or expensive — that’s always relative. But I will say that some of the appetisers and sides felt noticeably overpriced for the portion and quality delivered. That said, the overall atmosphere and view definitely make it a memorable place to visit. Would recommend for a special evening, especially if you’re after that classic New York City rooftop vibe. Price stated was for 4 drinks and 1 side
Stunning views, but frustrating service The views from The Skylark rooftop are absolutely breathtaking, offering sweeping panoramas of Midtown Manhattan — easily the highlight of the experience. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. Despite having a reservation for a birthday party and specifying the importance of rooftop outside seating, we were initially told that no outdoor reservations were available and were offered lounge seating instead. After much discussion, we were finally seated outside — only to notice reserved tables contradicting what staff had told us. Service at the tables is limited — you must order at the bar, and there is very little privacy as people crowd around to take photos, which can feel intrusive during special occasions. The 2 stars reflect the incredible views, but the service, reservation management, and overall experience were frustrating and poorly handled.
Extremely unprofessional and disappointing experience. Attitude and behaviour: completely unacceptable If it were possible to give a negative rating, I would. Last night, we traveled over one hour to visit this bar, for which we had a confirmed reservation. The experience was disappointing from the very first moment. At the entrance, we were asked to present physical IDs, despite the fact that this requirement was never communicated in advance. During our stay in New York, we have visited multiple higher-end venues, and we were never asked for a physical ID in this way. My partner did have an ID, yet the staff member at the entrance stated that it was “not enough”. When I politely asked whether a photo of my passport could be used as an alternative, the response was a flat and rude refusal. At that point, my partner made a lighthearted comment, clearly meant as a joke, asking whether I looked under 18. Instead of responding professionally, the staff member reacted with unnecessary aggression and almost forced us out of the entrance, telling us to leave in a hostile manner. My advice to management: review your staff’s attitude and skills before it starts seriously affecting your reputation and business.
I was genuinely excited when we arrived. The long, dimly lit hallway leading to the elevator created this mysterious, almost theatrical build-up. Unfortunately, that excitement vanished the moment we were seated at what was basically an end table jammed beside the service entrance. Every time a server pushed through the curtains no more than three inches behind my chair I felt a full gust of air. It didn’t even feel like a space meant to hold a dining table. I went back to the host stand and politely asked if we could be moved. They told me the only other options were high-top tables and that the couch-style seating was reserved for larger parties. That made sense to me at the time—there were only two of us, and we were more than happy to take a high-top just to get out of the service doorway. But then we sat there and watched multiple couples—just two people each—being seated on the couch-style section we were told was strictly for larger groups. Meanwhile, we waited another 30–35 minutes with no update and no attempt to move us. Nothing. At that point, we asked for the check and left. The only bright spot was Helen—she was fantastic, warm, and truly the highlight of an otherwise disappointing experience.
