My fiancé and I have enjoyed very much the wonderful food. I love Taquitos and these that are made here are the best I have ever eaten. The owners are so nice and make sure that we had a pleasant experience. The outdoor patio is so pleasant and with a gentle breeze. El Mexicano Restaurant in Oak Glen really is fantastic!!!!

Love their albóndiga soup. Their fried tacos. Services is always welcoming & love their LIVE music. Miss Fanny is an excellent chef& host.

Cool little spot in the hills above Yucaipa. I always judge Mexican food by their ability to make good beans and rice. Theirs was delicious I had a flauta but it was as big as a chimichanga . My wife had a taco salad. Portion sizes are large enough that we could have shared a meal.

We ate here our first night in Oak Glen. It's a Thursday so not busy at all. Our food was quick and delicious. Chili Colorado, Chile relleno, chicken tacos, quesadillas for the kids, large ice cold Modelo and Margherita. Amber was very friendly and an excellent server. Will be back this weekend.

Food was great. Chiles Rellenos were really good. Home made style. Big enough for me. Flavorful, not hot. Super nice service. Worth the 2 hour drive.

This place is usually packed on the weekends so we went up during the week to try it out. We got the carnitas, beef taquitos and the chile relleno / taco plate. Each dish was fresh, hot and delicious. The carnitas were sliced pork and deep fried perfectly. The service was also great and friendly. We'll definitely be back.

A definite hidden Gem located right on the curve of the road across the street from apple Annie’s next to the oak glen retreat ,Homemade Authentic Mexican food ,cozy inside with a fireplace and outside seating if you want to enjoy the scenery the owner Leo and his wife were friendly and inviting and the food was absolutely amazing! From the birria ramen to the chile verde we even sample their mole and enchiladas,Taquitos and nachos all the food was amazing it’s definitely my go to spot whenever I’m in the area ,I highly recommend you check them out and on Fridays they may fish tacos! Plenty of choices even for the kids

This restaurant is located in a perfect setting of Beautiful Oak Glen. It is a nice drive & there are shops you can visit.

Good food, very small, so food will take a while. Don't come super hungry, I didn't mind the wait, enjoy family conversation. Will come again.

stopped here on the way to joshua tree to have an excuse to drive through the mountains. it was a very nice treat and put waitress was lovely, i had a gordita for the first time with shrimp, would recommend! great mountain view’s. we were able to walk across the street and see a free petting zoo where we watched a big pig pee on a tiny pig

Great customer service from Mario we also had a chance to talk with the owner very nice Lady!!! Son had the green chicken enchiladas, Husband got the shredded beef burrito. I had the gordita dinner plate!!😋 Everything had flavor right down to the warm chips and homemade salsa!! Definitely will be back.. Thank you

Cute little place! We ate outside in the patio and service was great. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was authentic and so good! Wish I lived closer; I would come back for sure! We were in Oak Glen for a day trip so we stopped in for a quick bite. I'm so glad we did! If you're in the area, I would recommend that you check it out! You won't be sorry.

We’ve enjoyed food several times before. Nice outdoor atmosphere and good service. Today, the mole on the red enchiladas tasted sweet not the usual savory. I don’t understand the change. Their savory sauce was perfect! Also, we sat at a table in the front that wobbled and made us feel like we were sliding downwards. Will still go back but sit in the back and not order anything with red sauce.

Good good, friendly staff, fair prices and short waits. Food selections are limited to tacos, enchiladas, tamales and such. I tried the Chile verde plate. It came out quickly and piping hot with a side of beans, rice and tortillas. It was not as authentic as I'm accustomed too, but enjoyable nonetheless. This was my first time here and won't be the last.

Great outdoor dining with some live music to set the mood. The food was tasty and the beer was cold. You can't really go wrong. It is my favorite place to stop when visiting Oak Glen.

Great environment, live music, the back patio is beautiful and the staff were all really friendly. My only critique is that they were super busy and the food took a very long time to come out.

They weren't super busy and it took a while to get our food, but everything actually tasted good and fresh. Must have been short staffed so we'll try them again next trip. All around fair priced and good.

Authentic Mexican food. Guitar player was entertaining. Unfortunately not enough seating but staff made sure to make room for new guest. Service was fast and friendly. This is an outdoor restaurant that could use a little upgrade.

Food was great but it took forever! Twenty five min after we ordered I had to go ask for our drinks, about thirty more minutes later I went to cancel our order and just pay for the drinks but our order was finally done so we stayed. Only had about ten min to eat so ended up taking it home . If you have time to wait then I highly recommend this place.. the food is very good ...

Food was definitely sitting once cooked. Plates were incredibly hot from probably sitting in an oven or under a heat lamp. Waited over an hour after ordering, there was only 4 of us eating. Not worth it for the price, service, or food quality. Beer was good though at least.

The wait staff was very nice, but EXTREMELY slow. We ordered at the front counter, which the waitress insisted was faster, then it was over 30 minutes before we got our food, and it wasn't even busy. We seriously considered just leaving. The food was decent, but not worth the wait.

Chips and salsa were great. But, it took an hour for our food to come, and they were apparently slow. We asked 3 times for a high chair for our baby and after it was promised, it never came.

When we arrived, there were only two servers for the whole place for a busy weekend lunch rush. It took a long time to get menus, then longer still to order lunch. After another long wait the mediocre food finally came. Long after we were done eating I got the check and then had to take it up to the hostess stand to try to pay. They took my card and told me that they'd bring it back to the table. Then they gave my credit card TO THE MAN SITTING AT ANOTHER TABLE!!! Luckily he was honest and got it back to me.

Food was not the best but the service was awful. We had a large group so we were going to split the check. The man who greeted us originally said we could do that. Another man came out who apparently would be our server and said that he spoke to the owner and since our group was over 10 people they couldn't split the check. I think math scared them or something. So we decided we would figure out amongst us how to handle it. No big deal. Then when he took our orders he didn't even seem to know the menu. He seemed to have more questions than us. After the orders were finally taken and the food was ready he brought out food that wasn't ours and was unsure of what most of us had even ordered. Brought the wrong tacos to us but we were fine to eat it either way. Once the food was dealt he never returned for refills or to check how things were going or tasting (not very good but bearable). When the check was ready he literally tossed it on our table and walked away. I work in the service industry and I understand how crucial tips are but I believe you should earn your tip. We collectively decided not to tip and paid our bill and left. As we were outside leaving I was tracked down by the server who was complaining to me that we didn't leave a tip and that he took good care of us and he didn't understand how a large group could not tip. So I told him that he was not there for us and the service was not good so we decided not to tip. He then walked off clearly upset. So I decided to call and let the owner know how we were treated by his server. The "owner" gets on the phone and wouldn't you know it, the server is the owner. When earlier that same server said he spoke to the owner about not being able to spit the check. Not sure what is going on over there but they need to get a handle on it. He proceeded to tell me that he doesn't need business from people like us so I reassured him that he never would.

You got me for a couple extra bucks today and it cost you a customer. $22.95 for a carne asada burrito. $15.90 for a kids burger fries and a lemonade. $3.00 for a handful of chips. Had to ask three times for one extra bowl, not two as charged. $8.00 for a bottle of beer. $7.61 for 5% credit card fee. Who does that! $27.39 large party 18% tip. I always tip well but 18% on these prices…. Cost of everything is going up, blah blah blah, I know. I chose to eat here, blah blah blah, not anymore.

Went there on Friday , arrived at 4:20, waitress told me and the wife that the cook refused to cook anything because it was too late and we’re about to close, no problem but when you’re 40 minutes from closing they should just close at 4 pm, never again.

Waited an hour for a plate of the blandest nachos I ever ate. Waitress never once check on us, brought 1 water for a table of 4 (we asked for waters for everyone), took 20 minutes to bring out a pitcher of beer, and never once refilled our chips. Mediocre food, mediocre service... at best.

Poor service and unfriendly. We were unhappy with the food, told our server who then walked away no help! The food was just as horrible. Chips n salsa were the only thing decent.. these are the nachos... never have we seen this. 12.88 for this mess!

We loved going to El Mexicano which is dog friendly place, but we had a situation arise within five seconds of walking on the patio where a pitbull came running out of the restaurant and attacked our dog. I called the owner Leo to discuss the situation, but Leo was defensive, blamed it on a customer, refused to rectify the situation and showed a lack of accountability. This is a public warning to anyone with small children or a dog to be careful. Unfortunately there seems to be little accountability from Leo. However, the food is decent and the atmosphere is great.
