Delicious chicken burrito! Probably the best I've ever had!
Best Mexican food in Ventura County hands down if you in 805 you gotta eat here
Just left TDM. Food is always delish. Wish we had one in AZ. Miss this place that's why I always stop when in town.
The chicken here is the best. Breakfast burritos are the best. For a vegetarian option get nopales and egg burrito or a chilli relleno burrito. I'm craving it now!
The chicken chimichanga is so good its the best ive ever had in my life
My number #1 spot for authentic Mexican food. Whenever I'm abroad for long periods and I crave some food from home, my mind always turns to this specific El Taco.
Such a yummy place for breakfast or lunch! Huge burritos! I always get the Esada and I rarely finish it.
Taco places in Oxnard. A true gem, and a literal hole in the wall. I highly recommend their carnitas. And their habanero salsa is amazing.
One of the BEST mexican restaurants in the 805!!! Amazing food, great prices and wonderful service!!!
Good horchata and one of few places I know of with tacos de papa. I tried cochinita pibil and it was also good!
Nice places to eat!! Been coming here for 30 years!!!! The food is delicious!!! Would highly recommend!!!
So good. This was my first spot for Mexican food in SoCal when I was visiting many years ago, so glad it's still great, with totally reasonable prices. My favorite in Ventura county.
Don't ever drive thru Oxnard without pickin up tacos or burritos from TDM. Personal fave is the burrito al pastor or desebrada. Asada tacos are tops too!
This place is open till 3am, so you can go and get your favorite food there, it brings a lot of memories
Owner is the sweetest and generous good food non judgmental amazing work
Best damn tacos in Oxnard. Haven't had a better lengua or cabeza taco yet. Its a pretty non-descript building and can seen a little shady but man is it worth it; especially after a night of drinking. Did I mention they're open until like 3 am too satisfy your drunk and/or sober needs. Oh and if you like spicy the habenaro salsa is absolutely worth it.
Been coming for years! Great service, great owners! Great food! Love supporting there business!
This Oxnard location is quaint and a "hole-in-wall" jewel! Restaurant space is similar to café. The interior is not appealing and needs updating makeover! Its been like that for years, but the COMIDA & 🔥Menu variety is So WORTH the outdated decoration and dining furniture!! Great for Late Night munchies😂🍴🐮🐷🐔🍅🌽
Felipe's customer service along with great food makes this place one of my favorites for sure.
Bomb burritos I like asada and my wife likes chicken chimichanga bomb food my wife got me hooked
Ordered the chicken flautas the plate came with 3 flautas rice and beans on a plate. The flautas had a guacamole sour cream and lettuce. My boyfriend ordered a carne asada burrito and we got an horchata which is rice water with a bit of cinnamon. We paid under 20 dollars for the whole lunch.
This small Taco joint is a little hidden treasure. They have the best homemade hardshell tacos" Darado ". It's a must try 3 tacos and you are full. Fast quick and cheap also.
One of my absolute favorite Mexican restaurants! Always very quick service and incredible food. Kinda staff and a pleasant experience overall
One of the top best Mexican food places around town. You could never go wrong with a burrito from here. One exception the chile relleno is not one of my favorites but this is only my opinion.
Second time eating here. The food is so tasty. The building isn't trendy or new. The focus here is clearly on making delicious tacos.
I love the place I've been going there since I was 5 years old and I would honestly give it a five-star Place very quick very friendly great customer service they get you in and out TDM is the place to be if you want real Mexican food Viva La Asada!!!
Best burritos in town. Actually best Everything. I love the tacos here too! And you gotta get some horchata people! Not to mention, the girl at the register is fully bilingual and ready to help anyone who wanders in after a drunken night. They are open well past midnight, and accept credit cards too. It looks shady, but trust me, you will love it once you try it!
2 hour delay at Oxnard station from Goleta. The al pastor burrito was cheap and insanely good. Put me in a better mood than before. Would definitely go back if I’m ever here again.
Authentic Mexican restaurant with great food and fast service. I ordered four tacos. They came very quickly and tasted it awesome
Yum yum yum yum. Authentic... Yum yum... Did I say yum and yummy? Bomb place. Hidden and usually only for the local peeps, you just gotta sneak in there and try their amazing burritos and my favorite hardshell machaca three taco plate. Yum. Only problem they have is they don't have Dr. Pepper or BARQS root beer. It would be heaven if they did... But it's pretty close. Not a fancy restaurant by any means... But the food can outrock any fancy place any day. Staff is variable... Almost family like. Go here... Seriously. Do not miss this place
This place is in a shady part of downtown and looks like a family-owned hole in the wall, but the Mexican food is delicious. It is always worth my time to grab a bite to eat at this restaurant whenever I am visiting my hometown of Oxnard. I can only wish for good Mexican food in the part of the country where I currently live.
Best Burritos in Ventura County, possibly California. Been going there for years. Never had a bad meal and their Horchata is the absolute best!
I highly recommend this place, really gooooooooood food. And really friendly customer service, this kind of place makes u feel like ir eating grandma food with good music 🎶
Small place with a huge flavor. Doesn't look like much from the outside but once you walk in and taste pretty much anything on the menu you'll love it. One of life's perfect comfort foods. And don't forget the homemade horchata! Mmm
Best bang for the buck in terms of quality and quantity. Their asada and pastor can be hit or miss but otherwise everything else is always good. My favorites are their ham and egg breakfast burrito, carnitas burrito, and horchata.
Burritos were delicious. Nice big menu and great service. Have been back and will continue. Good prices too compared to other places.
I've been coming to this spot since I was 3. I'm 30 now and have seen it's changed hands quite a bit. Although it has it's downfalls and things they could improve on, this place is reallg the classic here in Oxnard or anywhere for that matter. Some occassions are better than others but I think it's really important to note that they have been trying to make the changes to get it right. One big thing to note is the classic taste!! You can't get rhe taste from this place anywhere else! There's just something about it. Sure you might get more condiments, bigger servings elsewhere but the taste man, you just can't get this anywhere else! And things are very clear and easy to see that they have been doing their best to improve and continue to do so. It's easy to see because they change cashiers, or cooks all within their same workers that already work there and kind of go feom there in figuring out what works and what doesn't for the customer, so in short yea it's cool to see that growth from any business!
One of my faves for authentic Mexican food! Love the burritos and the chicken flautas. It's a little shabby looking but the food can't be beat and they are open really late, too.
El Taco de Mexixo has been in business for years and is very well known. They are open late for all the late night party people. Prices are fair and tastes way better than fast food. Nice service and they have a fairly large menu. So drop by for a satisfying meal and a safe place to dine before you go home.
Great burritos! Not much more needs to be said. The restaurant is in a.. not-so-good part of town, but if you're just there to takeout then you can't go wrong. Always cavesa no on onion, mild salsa and yes, cilantro!
I love this place my whole family grew up eating here. I now live in TX i came to visit and I've eating here 3 times in one week!! The employees are nice, friendly, The place is clean. AND THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!
I used to come here regularly for lunch about 10 years ago because there isn’t a more consistently awesome carne asada burrito. I just came back through town to visit friends and had to stop in and sure enough, 10+ years later, they remain the greatest. The benchmark carne asada burrito that embarrasses all challengers. Say yes to cilantro and onions. Long live TDM.
I come here all the time. This place been here forever. Good food. Good prices
Authentic Mexican food. Awesome! Great job!
Always enjoy the food here 👍🏼
Ordered 20 breakfast burritos for work. They were ready on time and the best tasting burritos around. Will be back
Coworker recommended recommended it and was very impressed. Great food, nice people, great prices. Definitely would highly recommend this place to many people.
Good food. I had not been here since I was a kid (since before taco trucks on every corner was a thing)and decided to give it a try. I got the asada burrito and my mom got the Buche burrito. They give you two salsa cups per burrito and two burritos was about 20 bucks. My asada burrito was good my mom mentioned the buche wwas a bit greasy and made her tortilla soggy. Very busy so the meat moves quickly so it's not sitting for too long. They get through the orders quick.
Food is always been amazing at this particular place, food is always made to order, is hot and fresh, the flavor is great and it never disappoints! Although We always get the same menu items, which include, Lengua burrito and salsa verde nachos, I'm in no doubt the other menu items are amazing as well! The place is always clean, however the tables make the place look dirty since they are in poor condition, one has the seats broken, and most of them have the paint vanished, some even have carved graffiti in them, also they never replaced the broken window, which makes it darker inside. Just a few flaws, but I really go there for the food not the looks !!
Love the food. Got a 1lb burrito with Chile Relleno and Chicharron in tomato sauce with onions and cilantro and to add an extra kick salsa verde and to drink Jamaica. The customer service was great. Cashier was very attentive and answer all of my question and had a great smile. The cook was also great fast friendly. Thanks that was great service and the food was on point.
Good old Taco D to be a great midnight spot now that I'm older I like going in for breakfast burritos the only Taco de Mexico that makes potatoes for the breakfast burritos😋
Staff is super friendly. Food is great and cheap. Restaurant is clean and service is quick. The best place to park is in the back.
The Shrimp tacos were delicious, by the time I ate the other tacos the Tortillas were cold not sure why
I love this burrito joint and I have lived here my whole life, they're few places I enjoy more than here
Old spot in town. Super good though. I get the vegetable burrito. Come with guac and sour cream.
Great tasting authentic Mexican food with good happy service at front counter. Busy during lunch time.
TDM is a Oldie But Goodie. It's tasted the same for 30 years. I recommend.👍
Food was great and has a good price. It's a hole in wall don't expect anything fancy. Service was fast and simple
Tortillas for tacos were a little stale, some of the chairs are busted up pretty bad. Great wet burrito, good size portions. Parking is in a gravel lot and not much light.
I had come out to Port Hueneme and by extension California back in 2004/5 for the first time. And if I'm not mistaken this was where I had my first authentic carne asada. It was good! And shortly thereafter I boarded Cal train to LA
I love the food here. It's a small place but tends to get busy. Hard to spot. Parking sucks. Recommend getting to go cuz the space inside is very limited.
Definitely the place to go if you're lacking cash but can pay with a card. Cooks do a really good job, food comes out both photogenic and delicious. I recommend chicken taquitos. Really good family place although could do with seating upgrades.
I've always loved TDM but it just seems like the burritos are smaller now and plain . You have to use a lot of mild or hot sauce to give it flavor. Not as bomb as it is to be. But it's still good. I'll still eat me a burrito. Lol
Authentic homemade Mexican food. The chicken flautas plate with beans and rice was the best of what we ordered. Rice abs beans are full of flavor. Potatoe tacos took 2nd place, and carne asada tacos took 3rd. Red and green salsas were flavorful. Outdoor parking lot in the back of the restaurant.
TDM always hits the spot. The food is good, some days better than others but it's good. It's served quickly, so you are in and out. Location is a bit old and run down so I don't recommend eating at the restaurant, we always take it to go.
I ordered a carne asada burrito. It was good but it would have been better if they would have put more meat and less beans & rice.
I only eat the Chilli Relleno burrito which is great. The restaurant is dingy and old. The restroom is scary. Beans and rice is also good.
The tacos were decent but tiny.My friend got a breakfast burrito and he enjoyed it.Irs definitely homemade
I have been coming here for about 9 years and things have changed throughout that time, naturally. I have always enjoyed the Asada burritos, I get them with Cheese and red salsa and of course onion and cilantro. They don't do a very good job of listening to special requests or modifications. I have been here 3 times in the last couple of months and each time there was an error with my order. Other than that, the food is always amazing and tastes better than my mom's (sorry)
Less meat in buritto. Cold chicken flautas. Not like it used to be and wont go back. Bummer
Little to no beans in my 3 burritos. That supposed to have beans in them as the main part to make a burrito.
I Haven't had taco de mexico in over ten years when i moved away. Was disappointed in two ways, they weren't cool or friendly at all and the homie guy didn't pack the salsa , cant have tacos with out salsa man. Only plus is they do put alot of meat.
This was the worst visit ever I ordered 2 burritos the burritos were good and I ordered 1 torta and it was disgusting horrible the worst torta I have ever had the meat was not cooked right/old the bread was really burned and black. Costumer service horrible the music was freaking LOUD. It was the worst visit ever!
Food is ok good some time bad some times. Always smells like piss and always dirty. Tables broken chairs broken. But it's one of the only places open till 3 am so it is what it is
Don't be led astray by the reviews that say this place is superb. Obviously you're not going to get a five star meal at a typical restaurant like this but yesterday I was utterly disappointed. The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in hours. I can only imagine what the restrooms might have looked like. I ordered a torta and all I got was soggy bread with horrible quality Al Pastor meat. The prices are cheap but you'll get your meal at a sacrifice; in my opinion it's better to spend an extra $0.50-$1.00 on a worthwhile meal at a different restaurant.
Called to get a price on a tray of tacos. Since I didn't speak Spanish, they hung up on me. Welcome to America!! I had to pick an option for food and decor rating. Really doesn't supply since I didn't go in to the place nor eat their food.
Asada taco for my 2yr old was very dry the rice tasted burned and I asked for green salsa and they put red. Lady ignored me to take two phone orders. Love TDM but man have they let me down lately. Not the first time either.
I'm not a big fan ofg authentic mexican food, so I didn't really care for it - but that's just me - I spent the first 30 years of my life in New Jersey so this is all new to me. Some people love authentic Mexican food so they may enjoy it!
A lot of inedible pieces of fat in the carne asada. I get better food for free. oh wait .. I didn't buy this. And I wouldn't.
Great food. Digesting place. If the dining area and bathrooms are revolting, I dont want to imagine the kitchen where the public can't see. No shame.
The California burrito don't have fries, place looks shade. The are attempting to take the name of taco De mexico because that's a real good taco shop worst $10 spent.
STAY AWAY, honestly I returned the meals we ordered! I don't like to leave bad reviews but this one is necessary!
The tacos here weren't really great or tasteful I paid a really expensive ticket for two people over $50 overpriced definitely and not tasteful at all I wouldn't come here again
I just got my food delivered and I gotta say, that has to be the most disappointing burrito I’ve ever had from a TDM, the meat was chewy and it was extremely soggy, I ordered avocado in it but there was none.
Asked for no onion in my California burrito and they still put onion. The toy machines on the side do not dispense what your putting your quarters in there for. And the guy making the burritos was obnoxious. Very unsatisfied. Rather go to Mariscos Cancun for my California Burritos
They make some good wet burritos which is all I go for basically. Twice they have screwed up my order & given me a different meat when I always order Asada in it. Someone went to buy a burrito & I asked to be brought an horchata. I paid for horchata & received 75% of ice in my cup. I'm not paying for all this ice, why would anyone? I'm paying for horchata, give me what I paid for or nothing at all. Never going back again. Too many mistakes, too stingy, can't keep watching them make the order exactly right each time. Also it's very dirty inside. Cup filled with ice... Freaking ridiculous... P.S. my horchata tastes like water now
🌙 Once a Star of Downtown Oxnard's Late night food spots and the place to get the best Mexican food... has given up. ): I placed my order and received an incorrect dish. Once I fixed my order and returned home there were ingredients missing from inside the burrito... I felt unheard by all three employees and the food was delicious as always! but I felt cheated out of the best parts. Message received don't return to eat with us. 💔
They are always really rude!!! So rude that they make it uncomfortable and they skimp on your food if you are different. Also they will ignore you if you don’t fit in. They do discriminate.
Ordered a burrito and l paid for the extra meat since they are stingy with it. Opened up my burrito and of course they didn’t add the extra meat after paying for it. This place is ridiculous
Ordered on two separate occasions and both times the restaurant failed, miserably! Both times their food and salsa smelled like vinegar! My husband ordered a chimichanga and it was overly stuffed with rice barely had any meat or beans. Their nachos were so soggy they were inedible. Staff is very standoffish. Don’t waste your money or time in this run down taco place. Atmosphere is so disrespectful not even the cockroaches will eat it.
I’ve been coming here for years and I’ve never had an issue with this place. The food is alright. My issue today was with the person running the register. I came in around 10:00 am. It feels like she has an ill temper among those who don’t speak Spanish and it feels like she’s really biased towards the customers. You can feel her negative energy and she does have a negative attitude towards the customers. As a person who values respect it makes you not want to come back. She’s nice to one person and to the next person it’s a completely different attitude. I just thought I’d let everyone know that. I might just go somewhere else next time. So whatever she was trying to do. It worked, I don’t want to go back.
Do not order the "guacamole"! It wasn't guacamole. It was avocado soup. It also had a ton of jalapeños in it. Flautas way overcooked and hard as a rock. They also put jalapeños on them. It was flat out inedible.
We have been coming here for years and it's been great, except the last two visits it's been bad. The meat on my burrito and tacos was hard dry and gross couldn't eat it. Maybe the meat was old or sitting all day. It was gross. I will not come here no more.
