The matcha here is great! Not the most amazing matcha compared to some tea shops in LA, but it’s better than other places in the area
Visited Palm Springs for the holiday and tried the Pistachio Rose Latte as recommended by many. I had the Oat milk instead of Almond just as personal preference. It was nothing short of perfection. It was delicious, warm, milky, rosy, nutty, not too sweet - really 👌🏼. Line was long but moving pretty quickly.
Soy Sugar-Free Vanilla Latte: 5/5 I’m not sure if I was just in a good mood or Palm Springs just wasn’t that hot this day, but the latte hit so good. I have very strong memories of drinking watery soy lattes and this one was creamy and not diluted at all. If we are all very honest, everyone sort of uses the same syrups and milks but I just really enjoyed it all and want to give a small coffee shop its flowers. Ambiance: Small neighborhood cafe, good vibes! Service: Employees were all very nice and answered all of our questions. They are all great baristas so are willing to help you craft your perfect drink! Parking: Street parking, but easy. I have not seen the area too busy.
Ernest Coffee is one of those rare spots that just gets everything right. The staff are always friendly and quick, making the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. Their drinks are consistently delicious, I'm hooked on the vanilla lavender iced coffee (house-made syrups make a big difference). And the pastries? Way too good to pass up.
While my experience of Ernest Coffee is limited to a single visit and drink, based off that alone I can give it a 5-star rating. The interior design is very cool, mixing together the vibes of a library and an old-school wooden building. The staff are down-to-earth and eager to help. I ordered a cortado with oat milk and it was delicious. Only took about 3-4 minutes to receive it as well. The shop had about 5-6 other customers inside, who were mostly working on laptops. It was a pleasant temperature, atmosphere, and the coffee was top-tier.
Ernest Coffee is a unique spots that truly capture the essence of our community and make newcomers feel right at home. During my recent visit, I indulged in their Ceremonial Matcha, and it was nothing short of exceptional, smooth, flavorful, and expertly prepared. The baristas were warm and attentive, making the experience all the more enjoyable. With ample indoor seating and a sun-kissed patio offering stunning mountain views, it’s the perfect spot to relax or catch up on some work. Housed in the historic space that once belonged to Don the Beachcomber’s tiki restaurant, the original tiki torches still stand tall, adding a touch of nostalgic charm to the modern, inviting atmosphere! They have French croissants too (just saying)
I stayed in Palm Springs for two nights and found this adorable coffee shop on Google and Yelp, which had excellent reviews. I decided to try it, and I’m so glad I did! What stood out for me was the fantastic customer service—both girls at the front were super attentive and kind. One took my order while the other made my coffee and their friendly energy added to the great experience. I ordered the vanilla lavender iced coffee, and it was a 10/10—delicious! Parking was easy to find on a side street, and the shop was just a short drive from my hotel. I took my coffee back to the pool and enjoyed every sip. Next time I’m in Palm Springs, I’ll stop by again to try the pistachio rose latte and maybe one of their pastries.
This is a delicious coffee shop that is worth the usual Palm Springs caffeine wait that occurs on the weekends. The line is out the door but goes fast. The offerings here come with a lot of great options. The coffee is solid and of course I’m happy that it comes from the Pacific Northwest. The baked goods are tasty too and the bathroom is clean. The staff is nice and I look forward to coming back here on future trips to Palm Springs.
Strong and delicious espresso. Friendly and quick staff. Credit card accepted. Long line to wait. Not too many places to sit but some people were sat at laptops. Some street parking available. Donut was soft and fresh.
Overall … Arguably, the best coffee in PS. Food … Dessert type items. Recent change. For years, baking has been better with more usual coffee shop items - good scones, croissants, and breakfast muffins. Service… Staff are unfailingly friendly and efficient. Atmosphere …. Most of the time it is a good place to talk/read. But some days the music blasts people out to the patio even in inclement weather, or next time they go to a quieter shop, or worst, they do not stay long enough to order.
Grabbed a nice latte to kick my day off in Palm Springs. A nice variety of coffee-based drinks and loved that they brew Stumptown. Was hoping for a few more options to eat — but you should be able to find a pastry or a muffin in addition to a great cup of coffee!
Stopped by after seeing all the great reviews and tried a regular unsweetened iced latte. It was fine, but not as impressive as I’d hoped. Maybe the shop shines more with their creative specialty drinks, but for a simple espresso-and-milk coffee, it was just okay. Probably just a matter of taste since I don’t go for sweet drinks.
After our not so great matcha experience at Cartel Coffee we decided to try Ernest Coffee which several locals recommended. It turned out to be a great choice. I ordered a vanilla iced latte and my wife went with a vanilla matcha latte. Both drinks were exactly what we were hoping for. The matcha had a nice balance of milk and flavoring without any bitterness and my latte was smooth and just the right amount of sweet. Nothing over the top or wildly unique but both were well made and really satisfying. The shop itself is spacious and inviting with cool decor and plenty of seating for studying hanging out or even playing games. Service was a bit quiet and very quick with more of a straightforward next in line vibe but everyone got their drinks promptly and it did not affect the quality. Overall we were happy to finally find a spot in Palm Springs that serves a solid matcha and a reliable latte. Ernest Coffee is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a well made drink and we are glad we stopped in.
After visiting the Tram Way in Palm Springs on a hot day, we were looking for a place with good drinks and comfortable seating to relax, and we found this little café. Ambiance: A small neighborhood café with a very pleasant and cozy atmosphere. Service: All the staff were friendly and happy to answer our questions, which made the experience more enjoyable. Drinks: The drinks were just okay; most of us couldn’t even finish them, even though we were quite thirsty. Hours: We were surprised that they close early. We had hoped to relax and enjoy the café for a bit, but after ordering our drinks, we had to leave because they close at 3 PM something we didn’t realize beforehand. Parking: Street parking is available and easy to find. The area wasn’t too crowded.
It is not often that I change a review wherein my experience was less than satisfactory, which was my first impression at Ernest Coffee; however, I think we all recognize when an owner's response is, well, unemotional, generic, and akin to lip service. Not so with Ernest Coffee's reply from the owner - who seemed to genuinely admit fault, offered a remedy, and asked that I give their humble abode (oh cliche) a second chance. A witty and well written concession with just the right amount of satire that not only made my day - but has earned a second visit and, of course, a change of heart. And a well taken reminder that... "A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference." —Eeyore [A.A. Milne]
Really wanted to give them 5 stars. My flat white was tasting like milk with a hint of espresso. Was planning on getting a blueberry muffin but only doughnuts were in the pastry case. Nice greeting from the young lady who took my order.
Reviews give it the look of a nice third wave coffee joint. Unfortunately didn’t pass muster :( was served a flat white instead of a cortado. Super sweet staff remade it in the proper glass. Ample seating and fairly clean. Also dopeeee outside patio with heaters (that I suspect they’d turn on if asked!)
I love Stumptown coffee, but the drinks are just not there. The menu looks promising with specialties like pistachio rose latte, but lattes taste watered down. I also tried the lavender lemonade which seemed like an artificial syrup concoction. The space is nice though, with plenty of seating and lots of natural light.
