Gabe and Dessie were phenomenal! From the greeting by Gabe upon entering the inviting bar area, to the blankets offered to us on a chilly evening, the food and service was top notch all around! The combination of heaters and personal blankets cut the chill for a perfect evening ambiance. The freshly baked cookies were second to none! Our salads - I mean divine! The drinks tasted as good as the aesthetics. All around we were very impressed and loved this welcoming restaurant - would recommend to everyone!
Wow, what a great evening! This place is definitely my new favorite spot in Palm Springs. The atmosphere is wonderfully rustic-chic with a homey farm vibe, and the service is start to finish exceptional. Everyone there is "Welcome" "It's great to have you" "I hope everything is amazing" and "Thank you so much for joining us this evening." I haven't had service like that in a long time. Of course, the food is the spotlight here, and everything is blow-your-hair-back quality. I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience this was. Make a reservation, because it's small and it's pretty packed
This place is so serene that I did not notice the busy street right outside. Once in the lobby the ambiance changes and the relaxing begins. The restaurant is located in the center and the food is mouth watering, that I wanted to try everything listed. The inside is quaint and amusing to say. This is something to see for yourself and enjoy.
Absolute hidden gem in Palm Springs. Almost don’t want to let anyone know about it but it’s just too good not to share. The outside seating is simply beautiful, you are surrounded by beautiful citrus trees, we really felt like we were transported into a European village, maybe Greece (and I’m European so that’s saying something) as for the food….my god!!! The menu is so imaginative, delicate, fresh and just delicious. I tried things I had never tasted before and I LOVE that about a menu. We all ate something different (Fuyu Persimons, Market Greens, Spiced Cauliflower pita and The Barn Burger) and all four of us were blown away. The service…darn I didn’t catch her name, well she was fantastic, she even brought us fresh baked cookies as a treat, which were absolutely melt in your mouth! I can’t wait to go back and try everything on the menu. My new favorite restaurant in Palm Springs maybe even the whole valley!!!
The photos do not do this justice but it was so good that we went back the next night for dinner again. The carrot pasta and mole were SO delicious that we will be thinking about them and craving them for months to come. The drinks were delicious and the atmosphere is tranquil and beautiful. The staff (especially Gabe & Wendy) were so kind, attentive, and went out of their way to make sure that our meals were perfect and that everything was to our liking. The dessert (warm chocolate cookies served with ice cream and the pot de creme) were delightful and such a good way to end an amazing dinner. We are already planning our next flight to come eat at The Barn Kitchen.
If you want to dine alfresco, this restaurant's outstanding ambiance is a fabulous choice. The staff warmly welcomed us. It was a delightful experience for they made sure we were never rushed. I sooo enjoyed my bass and we marveled how the presentation of every course was Instagram worthy. The passion fruit, chocolate dessert was one of the best I ever have...original and burst with flavor.
Absolutely perfect for date night!!! A beautiful, artsy space and the 5 course tasting menu really blew us away! Best mocktails in Palm Springs, good bourbon selection, and top notch service. We had oyster n herb soup, bone marrow, lobster raviolis, lamb, and chocolate mousse- all excellent! I highly recommend reservations for any special occasion, their outdoor seating was so romantic!
Seriously the best experience in Palm Springs to date! Amazing food, Instagram worthy atmosphere and our server Desie made our experience perfect. We will be back!!!!
We dined at the Barn Kitchen for dinner on Monday, lunch on Tuesday, desert on Tuesday night, and lunch on Wednesday while we were staying at the Sparrows Lodge in Palm Springs. We only ate elsewhere once with our friends who live locally and we took them back to the Barn for a scrumptious dessert of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, literally baked when we ordered them served with a sweet and rich vanilla ice cream. Service was exceptional at all times provided by a rotating staff who were all a delight. The food looked and tasted like it was organic and locally sourced. The Barn Burger with served with crisp lettuce and sweet tomatoes and crispy bacon was delicious and rated in my top 5, probably tied for first place with one other burger. The salads were fresh and delicious and made a great meal with the tasty, grilled chicken. The hummus and locally sourced pitas was delicious along with black olives, pickled red onions, and cucumber slices. The chicken salad sando was enjoyed by our friend who truly liked it and the tasty house made salt and vinegar chips that accompanied it. My absolute favorite dish was the Burrata! Now I was first disappointed and then oh so happy with this dish! Let me explain. I am used to the more traditional burrata that is usually served on large, thick slices of heirloom tomatoes drizzled with virgin olive oil and aged balsamic vinegar and basil leaves. But, the Barn has a cool dude of a Chef that thinks out side the box! This dish came with a healthy serving of fruit and a large portion of so fresh and creamy burrata all drizzled with an incredibly sweet tasty honey (addicting!) and the most incredible crispy tasty toast I have ever eaten! You could eat the Burrata for breakfast with a couple of poached eggs! I could go on, but I think you get the point. We will be back! Can’t wait to see the what the creative chef and his crew comes up with next!
Great experience as it is mostly open only to the hotel guests. Service is great, food options are minimum but cover almost every taste and the quality is amazing. Everything we tried was delicious. Hummus, charcuterie board, sandwich, pork chop and mole.
The best bacon wrapped dates I’ve had in SoCal! The Sea Bass was cooked perfectly and the Sausage pasta dish was done well. The sour bread was outstanding, must try.
My husband and I were so happy to have stumbled on this place on our recent trip to PS! Both the food and service were fantastic. And we loved how cozy the atmosphere was, it felt tucked away and intimate; like we were dining inside of someone’s immaculately-cared-for home!
Lovely patio with excellent food. I will be back for the hummus and the market salad. Felt safe eating gluten free here.
This is my Go to Spot once a Month, it's Beautiful, it's Relaxing, Employers are very Friendly.
Wonderful atmosphere and staff. Food was inventive and well priced and delicious.
Lovely place my gf and I went to celebrate her completing grad school. Fantastic service, well curated atmosphere, and delicious food. Definitely want to come back for a longer day to relax with some drinks by the pool. 11/10 will come back again.
Found this boutique restaurant on Google, not realizing it was rather exclusive, catering to the well-heeled guest of the surrounding boutique hotel. Although all the tables were booked (for the entire night!), we were invited to sit at the bar and enjoyed drinks and an appetizer. Next trip to PSP we'll look into booking a room here!
I spent the afternoon of my 70th birthday here, just to relax and enjoy the ambiance, in the company of my husband. Lovely place, good food and the servers are awesome! Jessica helped me when I spilled my entire glass of wine all over the table. She was very gracious. Really nice place, which I highly recommend as a place to eat, drink and be merry any day!!
Extraordinary meal, extraordinary setting, extraordinary service. Beautiful location in a garden inside the hotel. Attentive service from the moment we came; food was amazing and they were willing to accommodate our dietary constraints. The cooked carrots were so well flavored and the crumble on top reminded me of a cinnamon crumble (without the sugar) - never seen anything like it. The hamachi crude was delicious as was the salmon and the raw tuna salad. And then came the warm chocolate chip cookies which they started to make 25 minutes before they served them - oh my God were they good. Offered my wife a glass of milk but she is lactose intolerant so they went and got her oat milk - just thought of everything. After dinner, there was a large fire pit to continue having a drink or to make smores (they just leave the component parts right near by) and to hang out talking - it was romantic, relaxing, delicious and just peaceful - what a great treat - highlight of our stay in Palm Springs. Thank you for such a delicious meal.
What an absolute jewel of a restaurant this is. We were staying in downtown Palm Springs and decided to have dinner here recently and it was the best night of our trip by far. You enter this oasis of a property through the cozy lobby, then around the serene pool courtyard, into the most magical barn. We were quickly welcomed with a huge smile by Alex and Gabe who made us feel like the only guests there. They clearly are professionals that make you remember what true authentic hospitality looks and feels like. Our party shared multiple dishes and each one was excellent. Every dish was creative and comforting at the same time. Conversations would actually stop every few moments to just enjoy the food - not an easy task with a group of women. Thank you again to Alex, Gabe, and all the staff that made what could have been just another dinner among old friends into the best night of our trip.
Beautiful scenery, atmosphere, and delicious food, especially the sage butter pasta 👌
Loved our dinner here! Beautiful grounds, cozy and magical with outdoor lights and heaters. Wait staff was so friendly and accommodating. Food and wine options was incredible. Left full and happy, would love to come back here again next time we’re in town!
Great experience! I always come here for lunch when I visit Palm Springs. The ambience is perfect, so chill and so pleasant! Their food is well curated, their servers are super nice and attentive and the place is sooo beautiful: perfect oasis-desert-arty design that instantly takes you into the Palm Springs state of mind. It's a bit on the pricey edge, but the experience is still worth it.
This is a magical place! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon it honestly because of their EV chargers. We walked in, which I understand is not recommended, but we were accommodated right away. The setting was shockingly serene, the service was on point, and the food was wonderful. Overall, it was an amazing experience.
Wonderful food in a beautiful setting. Simple dishes that are full of flavor. Service was also top notch. The carrot cavatelli pasta, guacamole, the chicken salad sandwich, mussels, Mediterranean salad and desserts were all stand out dishes. Can’t wait to come back.
Great gem in the desert. Fantastic food and ambiance.
Incredible food and drinks. We got the guac/salsa starter, the pork ragu and the chicken mole as our mains, and the chocolate chip cookies with milk for dessert. Everything was so delicious and the waitstaff very kind and attentive. The setting was gorgeous, too. There’s a nicely lit pergola and fire pit outdoors, and beautiful indoor dining table. It was a bit chilly and breezy when we went but I was offered a blanket which made it perfectly comfortable! The Sparrow Lodge is stunning and we will even consider staying there the next time we return to PS! 10/10 recommend the Barn Kitchen!
Delightful, relaxing afternoon meal we had. Quite, peaceful, and rejuvenating. We could hear birds singing, they were enjoying that atmosphere along with us. Good food! This place is a delightful hide away place we didn't know existed here in Palm Springs.
What an awesome hidden gem! The ambience was nice, and the food was excellent. This was one of my favorite restaurants on our trip to Palm Springs. We stopped in for lunch without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate us, but I recommend getting a reservation if you aren't staying at the hotel.
Loved this place! Great vibe and the food was awesome - we shared a bunch of things including the ribeye which was great! The Agnolotti was incredible and all the sides were awesome! Highly recommend this little hidden gem! Will definitely be back on our next visit!
The atmosphere is very zen, quiet, beautiful outside. Fire places, fire pits, wonderful plants. Food delicious and plentiful. Wait staff and manager friendly, professional, top notch
Such a fun experience! Loved the atmosphere, especially being able to play games. Was disappointed in the chocolate chip cookies sadly as they were hyped up by our server, but were borderline burnt when we received them. Additionally service got a little slow near the end of our stay as there was only 1 server for 7 different parties. Would come back just for the atmosphere.
The menu and wine list are incredible. The chicken molé is to die for. But I think we were there on an off night. We sat at the bar in an empty dining room (everyone seemed to be sitting outside) and there was no bartender working. I’m guessing they may have been short staffed, and they were also out of several items we wanted to try. The service was friendly they just seemed to be a bit backed up. Will be back again and will likely grab a table outside.
Very nice outdoor venue & ambiance. It’s like being in Sonoma instead of Palm Springs. The food was good, a bit on the pricey side but great waitstaff.
Cool spot with a rustic chic feeling. Have the asparagus it's yummy.
Beautiful patio setting. Very good food. Prices seemed a little high for portion size. Friendly service, but a little inattentive because two servers do it all.
Super cute place. Great service. 10/10 for ambiance. I wish there were one or two more vegan options. There's only a veg burger on the menu currently. It's average at best. Palm Springs in general needs more vegan options. The two omnivores freinds loved their dishes. Drink menu was on point.
Amazing burger, peaceful and romantic ambiance by the fire. Updated review: we revisited and while the burger and ambiance were still great, the service felt impersonal and rushed. Also the Mediterranean salad was just iceberg lettuce, pretty uneventful.
Overall the food at the barn was pretty good. The Buratta was 10/10! Entrees (mole chicken and burger) were a little mediocre but still good. Service was a little slow, it took a long time for them to take our drink orders after we sat down. Also it was super hot and we sat outside. I know they can’t control the weather but a lot of Palm Springs restaurants have misters or fans to help with air flow. We will probably try again, but it wasn’t our favorite.
After all the great reviews, this was a disappointing experience. We were seated uncomfortably on a couch where we couldn't reach our food very easily, and spent most of the meal listening to loud conversations at the couch and table right next to us. Despite the charming design, there are unavoidable offensive F word signs that catch your eye. Service was mediocre and then their credit card machine wasn't working to process payment. Would not return, and sorry we went.
I had really high expectations for this restaurant, so I was very disappointed with my experience. My husband and I booked it for dinner during our trip to Palm Springs. The setting was nice but the food was below average. The pasta was undercooked, soaked in oil and had a weird mix of ingredients. I could do better at home. This is not something you’d expect from a high rated restaurant (especially as it’s not cheap). The other dishes were ok, not brilliant either. But the waiter was nice, so I can’t complain about the service.
We got dressed and came here for a romantic dinner, we were turned away saying they don’t allow outsiders to dine after 7:30. That should be clearly posted, that is so disrespectful to people’s plans and now we’re scrambling for a restaurant when everything is closing 👎
I’m really torn writing this review, as I so wanted a different experience, and felt it was possible. When we arrived at 8 pm, it was dark. The parking lot is barely lit, and entrance door has no light, but has I window next to it, and as we looked through- into the lobby I said “I think we are at someone’s home”…. As we saw people around a book or canvas. I thought they were painting. My partner opened the door and the feeling of discovering a secret place washed over me- very charming - but I think unintentional. The property is deep, so we passed through what we now understood was a reception area we then went to a lounge area. The bartender was everything, and charming. She was host, bartender, and Server. She brought us to our table and I have to saw it was the definition of quaint. Two seats- side by side facing the pool. So we were promptly seated, points gained! Semi quickly served drinks- ok, but then the wait began. We ordered our food when the drinks were served to eliminate the server needing to come back and forth unnecessarily. The china they use is Matt finish- so greasy finger print show. Enough said? Points lost. The menu is limited in size and I I always assume that to mean that what they do they will do well… but when we ordered the Rib Eye for 2…. They were out. I understand- things happen, but it didn’t seem busy, and 8 on Saturday night. We placed that order when our drinks were delivered… I had ordered pineapple juice with ginger beer… they didn’t have pineapple juice. So I was offered other non alcohol options. I ordered cranberry juice. The food was alright, but not Wow level. We had the pasta dish, the sea bass dish, and a salad adding chicken. We opened with the meal I and burrata and melon- that’s always a winning combo. Imagine my surprise when I asked for a refill of my cranberry juice, to find out they were out! Of cranberry juice! A basic bar mixer!!!!! Points lost. To sum up my experience- this place is replete with character and charm, the server/bartender was amazing- but overtaxed in responsibilities, which made the server times lag. We were on time, drinks ordered, received drinks at 8:30, food shortly began slowly thereafter, and by 9:45 we’re feelings bit of a polite push toward the door. I think she may have also been managing their room rentals. The food- average. When we left- and opened the door into the poorly lit parking lot… I thought… a trip and fall hazard waiting to happen. Palm Springs is an oasis of magical experiences- this establishment promises, but falls short.
Unnecessarily rude when telling us that reservations are needed and they were full for the night. It is too bad because we would have been back otherwise. It is a beautiful setting.
Quite possibly the worst dinning experience in the last 10 years. Atmosphere is lovely, service was atrocious and food was ho hum. We should have gone to In-and-Out instead. We were pretty much the only diners for lunch. My $20 margarita was poured premixed bottle, My Simple salad took at least an hour to come out, My simple hot sandwich took over 90 minutes. Except it was not hot by the time the server could figure out how to get it to our table. Stay away. It’s just not worth your time to go here. This is my only negative review to a restaurant in probably a decade anywhere.
We had dinner here this past weekend. The food was decent, but the service was horrible. The minute we sat down we were told we needed to “hurry up and order before it gets busy”. We barely had 2 minutes to look at a menu before we were hounded to order drinks and an appetizer if we wanted one. The whole experience was oddly stressful. We were never offered a second drink and they were taking away our food before we even finished. We were in and out in under 45 minutes total. The kicker was we never even saw it “get busy”. Ultimately, it doesn’t seem like they are interested in dinner guests who are not staying at the hotel. This could be easily solved on their part by just closing reservations to non- guests, but here we are. We made these reservations over a month ago and were really looking forward to it. Not sure what the deal was. What a waste of a night.
Was from out of town, came in for my best friend’s birthday. There was 1 person doing everything. Food took over an hour to come out. Waited on check for more than 30 minutes. The 1 person working decided to chat with someone staying there than to get your check. Would not recommend!!!
This place is so cute, but sadly the staff at The Barn was very difficult. They said they would only seat us with a reservation, which I totally understand. So we made a reservation on Resy for a half hour later. This was confirmed by email, but for some reason they still could not seat our party of four. It’s a cute place, but kind of difficult to deal with. I would call before trying to eat here.
well....made a reservation for 1:30- arrived at 1pm- they were NOT crowded (at all) not greeted right away...finally greeted and told there is no way to serve us or even just seat us with a glass of something or other until reservation time (poor training)-honestly not welcoming nor friendly...they explained they are short staffed -michelin starred restaurant short staffed? Really, thats just poor management! Not impressed at all- went to The Parker instead and recieved a warm welcome and great service
The restaurant’s atmosphere is undeniably beautiful, but the space felt uncomfortably warm for the summer evening. Service, however, was where the experience fell short. Our server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, yet we still took her recommendations. While the food itself tasted good, the execution around service and pacing was disappointing. At the server’s suggestion, we placed our full order at once to accommodate the chef’s direction. Unfortunately, the flow of courses was poorly timed: appetizers arrived, one dish with severely burnt bread points, and before the replacement even came we were already halfway through appetizers when the entrées appeared. The new bread only arrived after the entrées had been served, which undercut the intention of enjoying the courses as designed. Adding to this, we brought our own wine with full awareness of the corkage fee, yet once it was opened our glasses were left unattended. We had to refill our own glasses throughout the meal, which is not the level of attention one expects at this caliber of restaurant. The evening ended abruptly when the hostess dropped our check at the table without a word and walked away. While the food itself was enjoyable, the disjointed service, lack of attentiveness, and poorly managed pacing left us disappointed. For a Michelin-recommended restaurant, the standard of hospitality was far below expectations. Unfortunately, despite the good flavors, we will not be returning.
