The Ribs and Chicken Combo Dinner was delicious. Took all my will power not to order one of their decant, sinfully and utterly amazing looking desserts. I think I gain a pound or two just kooking.
Love the Blue Ribbon where breakfast is always good. tasty sandwiches, and a real hamburger plate that is fresh and costs the same if not less than a trip to McDonalds. Great friendly fun servers too. Be aware this place is cash only, but they now have a MAC machine onsite.
Okay.....sooo....went to the Blue Ribbon just before closing time and everyone was STILL super nice! And we had great service! I ordered the Mid-Western Melt and it was AWESOME!!! The sour dough bread was spot on with the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese, onion and tomatoe! And the burger juicy....cooked to perfection! Thank you Blue Ribbon! We'll be back soon!
Number one: such friendly, competent service. Number two: coleslaw at a whole new level. We were there on a Friday evening so we opted for the seafood dishes; much husband was eager for New England fish n chips, and he was NOT disappointed! I had broiled scallops and was w pleased as well. Don't know if we'll get the chance to pass this way again, but we'll stopp here if we do.
Favorite restaurant! Went into celebrate my husband's birthday with his favorite fish dinner. Restaurant was crazy busy. But waitresses were always pleasant and on top of things. These ladies are amazing!
Stopped as we were driving across the state. Worth the 5 miles off the Thruway! Awesome friendly service. Fish fry (fresh caught wild haddock) was one of the top 3 ever! Chicken and biscuits were delicious and the homemade lemon mascarpone cake....yum!!!!
Friendly waitresses, good diner food, interesting specials. Desserts are yummy. We would be considered regulars...Have been coming here for years and keep coming back. If I were traveling, I would be happy to find this place. It is clean & kid-friendly! (They have books for kids to read. We know where they are, but if you don't just ask!)
Excellent quality, Reuben was well balanced between the meat sauerkraut and bread. Fried chicken was delicious, kids enjoyed chicken quesadillas. Not a fancy place but good salt of the earth type foods
Best waitress I’ve had in years. Excellent service and cheerful attitude.
Arrived at 11:30, they were still serving breakfast which was great since that was what half of our table wanted. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, my granddaughter says it's the best chicken fingers she's ever had.
Nice place to visit for lunch.
Will always be one of my favorite places. There's nothing like a down home mom and pop diner. Whether I'm sitting at a table or grabbing take out for a coworker and I, everything is always tasty and ready to go.
Visiting family in Lyons NY and they took us here for breakfast and wowwwzers soon delish I had COUNTRY eggs Benedict !!!!!!! Love it and the Manager was amazing and she loves her job so much you can tell by how smooth this place runs ...it was packed and everyone was happy !!♥️♥️♥️ Thanks be back soon !!!🐸🐸
It's more of a diner than a smokehouse (though the smoke shed is visible from the lot), but the pork and (not brisket) beef are unique on their own, sliced thin (almost deli style) with a homemade sauce that with BBQ flavor. Homemade beans are soft, with fat mixed in for flavor. All of the aforementioned is gluten free. Beyond that the reuben sandwich, fries, and huge kids chocolate chip pancakes all got compliments and the cakes look decadent!
Blue Ribbon Smoke House is the Phelps Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month for September 2012, and it's my job to do transport the sign and do an interview to write the article/press release. I really enjoyed this one, because I arrived early for our interview and ordered the Eggs Benedict, a favorite breakfast of mine that the kids won't eat so I I never get to make it at home. Surprisingly, the Eggs Benedict were very affordable AND delicious. So I went back with the kids and ordered some of the famous smoked meat for lunch a few days later, the kids went for the chocolate chip pancakes. Everything was delicious (yes, I tried the kids' pancakes too!) and it all feels home made. The atmosphere feels like a diner, full of locals and regulars who make this place their second home and I can see why. They are cash only, but the prices are affordable and the food is amazing... must try!
There are many things I sorely miss about upstate New York, not the least of which is the warm friendship, the joyful service, and the so-good-you-dream-about-it food from the folks at the Blue Ribbon. I'd like to point out, as glaringly mentioned by other reviewers, that this is the Blue Ribbon Smokehouse, not the Cheesecake Factory or an upscale bistro manned by culinary arts graduates. Don't expect 'inspired', don't expect fast-food prices. That's apples and oranges. Expect a heaping plate of some real comfort food! This is simple, satisfying, and delicious food made by some great people who are a pleasure to know, even if only for the duration of a meal. You will notice many photos of the owners' family throughout the dining area. Why have that in a restaurant? Because, and I have no qualms about sounding tacky, the Blue Ribbon family includes you from the moment you walk in the door. Oh, and the meat from the smokehouse section of the menu is actually smoked, contrary to another reviewer's claims, and it's the best you'll get in the region. Now I'm hungry!
We were in the area and wanted breakfast so we figured why not. When the parking lot is packed they must be doing something right. We were seated almost immediately but service understandably took a little longer than normal. The food was great, prices were very reasonable and our waitress was pleasant and experienced. (Thanks for the extra plate) I'd recommend this place amd would happily go back to other men items.
Absolutely will be back! The kids thoroughly enjoyed their chicken tenders, fries and Cowboy burger. I had the reuben...by far the best I have had since I moved to NY in 1998! We will definitely be back! Great service too! Very friendly 😊Thank you for a great dining experience in this trying time.
Cash only but they do have an ATM.
We came across this place on the way to see my aunt. We were hungry and hasn't seen anything along the way that we liked. Thought we would try it. We were not disappointed. The food we ordered was great. When we finished we wanted dessert but we had eaten too much. The pastries looked great but we just could not eat another bite. So order wisely to save room for dessert. We had to make another trip to try the desert.
My family and I happened to find this place while traveling in the area and LOVED it. We had very low expectations, but everything that every one of us got was absolutely delicious. I had the best Reuben sandwich of my life there! It was so difficult to pick because so many menu items and specials sounded delicious. Service was fast and friendly, and food was fresh and delicious. What more could you want? If I lived locally I would visit all the time!
Had a great lunch here before getting on I-90. Chicken and biscuits and bistro sandwich were both delicious. Although we didn’t have any the desserts looked amazing, including apple crisp. Nice atmosphere. Parking lot big enough for an RV. Good food , good value, good service.
Blue ribbon is easily one of the best small scale restaurants I’ve ever eaten at. It’s very easy to tell that they work extremely hard to keep a clean and sanitary dining environment. The staff is extremely friendly, my waitress (her name was Elisha) was not only smiling and very helpful in pointing out something that I would enjoy but made sure that my drink never got empty promptly and checked in to make sure everything was to my liking! This is where they shine brightest in my opinion is the service. The food was also above my expectations, I had fish and chips , and just wow ! Homemade batter, tarter sauce, garlic bread and coleslaw. Very good portions for the price as well! If I could give them 6 stars I would. Will DEFINITELY be eating here on a more regular basis !
We happened to be in Phelps on a whim and our family of 6 had to eat dinner. We couldn't have chose a better place. Menu was awesome! The whole place was clean. Wait staff extremely personable and kind. My husband ordered the hungry jack smoke house plater and it was amazing.
Clean, spacious diner like restaurant. Reasonably priced. Large assortment of delicious cakes, pies and cookies!
We've been twice now for breakfast and both times left extremely satisfied with the service, staff and most of all the quality of the food!! Very pleasant atmosphere and that hometown feel where you're recognized and known by name!! Thank you for making our dining experience a very pleasant one!!!!
We had the fish an chips. Never had one as delicious as those at Blue Ribbon Smokehouse!! They were not greasy and the fish was very light an flaky. It was a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant was crowded. And as soon as a table emptied it would quickly fill up again. The waitress were very kind an friendly. They did not seem tired or in a terrible mood. They made me smile!!! Blue Ribbon Smokehouse I will be back again!!! And thank you for making our meal so pleasant!!
I must say that I eat here often and absolutely love it! Great food and attentive servers! One of my favorite dishes is the goulash which I was very disappointed to find out that they had already sold out when I went to order it yesterday!! It's definitely that good though so I guess I'll have to wait ! 😊 I have yet to be disappointed!
Such a great experience! We traveled to Phelps from Rochester NY for the kraut krawl and decided to stop in for a quick bite before heading home. Food was excellent. Service was great. Overall GREAT. Will definitely travel back to Phelps for their sauerkraut 🤤
Loved it! The fish and chips were amazing! I forgot to bring something in to occupy my daughter, when asked our lovely waitress brought out books for us to look at until the food came. I've passed by for months and am so glad I finally stopped!
Great comfy, homey atmosphere, lots of seating, good parking. A special with Polish sausage and sauerkraut was well worth the recommendation-a generous portion of delicious sauerkraut, a nice chunk of grilled Polish sausage, and potatoes of your choice. Eggs and home fries were perfect. Our meals (breakfast and one of the day's specials) were out in under ten minutes. Leana, our server, was EXCELLENT. A hearty, filling lunch for two ran ~$20, and left us both too full for dessert. Menu was variations on a home-style theme, and included options for kids, seniors, and groups.
We ordered 3 fish fry for take out. The cute fish n chips box actually kept the food crispy. Of the many fish fry I have had, this one was solid. Nicely battered, not too much, not too little with good ratio to fish. Fish was meaty and tender. Thick steak fries were a nice side though I did need to add salt to them. The cole slaw was crunchy w just the right amount of dressing. Will Def put Blue Ribbon on my list for fish fry.
My significant other and I went for the Fish n Chips dinner Friday about 3 pm . Didn’t realize it started at 4pm. That was fine we had some appetizers and waited. The waitress who had served came over to tell us she called the cook, who also happened to be her husband, needed to come early there was some people waiting for the fish dinners. He was nice enough to come in early and make our dinners ! What a great place!!! The dinners were excellent! We will be back !!
Great food, save room for dessert. We didn't lol.
This place is great. I highly recommend it. Just make sure you have cash. They don't accept credit. The roast turkey is roasted on-site, and the corn beef for reubens is made there too. It's so delicious.
Visiting from Arizona and I just had a Reuben sandwich on rye bread that was mouth watering. Best sauerkraut I have ever eaten. The macaroni salad and fries were delicious and crispy. My husband had a Philly Cheese steak that was loaded with sauteed onions and peppers. Yum 😋
We like to go to Sauders on Fridays. We take route 96 because 90 is such a rat race. Passed the place many times and thought we'd give it a try. Be aware it's cash only but there is a ATM. Great service and food. I had fish & chips that were awesome and my daughter really enjoyed her bacon burger. Generous portions but we couldn't skip desert. Raspberry cake was really good. You can tell the locals enjoy this spot as well. We will be back for sure!
Food was delicious, service was very fast and friendly. Pancakes were extra fluffy. Sandwiches were excellent. All food was hot and fresh. Restaurant is very clean as well. A group of 5 had to stop unexpectedly and we were very well taken care of. Thank you, you deserve a Blue Ribbon!
Absolutely sensational experience here a few days back. Unexpectedly, they had ribs and homemade BBQ sauce and they were some of the best I've ever had. I couldn't believe it! Our server, Emily, was easily one of the best overall servers that I have ever had. Her attention to our table and the rest of the tables in the restaurant was immeasurable. Superbly impressed with the entire place from the food to the staff, the decor, and just the whole experience overall. I will absolutely be back.
Solid restaurant, I drive about a half hour to get there. The dessert is particularly good.
My wife wanted to try this restaurant. A featured item is a Reuben sandwich with sauerkraut they make themselves. It's one of the best Reubens I've ever had. Service was fast and friendly. IMPORTANT consideration is that they are CASH ONLY with an ATM available on-site.
Our waitress (worked on a Tuesday night, she had brown hair and glasses)was amazing and so sweet. We would have loved the place even if the food wasn't good....But it was. Great comfort food!
All around a wonderful establishment, found myself with a great server and surrounded by community. I got a tuna fish sandwhich, my son got spaghetti and my fiancé got some sort of meal that looked apatizing in all ways. Greatful for this walk in on my slow days.
The food is delicious. The prices are reasonable. It has a friendly atmosphere. The waitresses and waiters are helpful and friendly. They always have a smile and are very attentive. Coming around several times to make sure everything is okay and to see if we need anything. It is a nice family friendly place to eat.
I stopped by on a whim and was really impressed by their pulled pork sandwich, which was flavorful without being over sauced and had a slight crispiness to the outer edges that really added to the overall experience. The fries were crispy, hot and fresh. Also, the pie selection is worth a stop in itself. I had the grape pie which was tart and jammy, and I took home a slice of their cheesecake which I later enjoyed. It was thick, dense, and creamy, with little in the way of crust. I intend to stop by at my next opportunity for breakfast, partly for the great prices and partly to try their pancakes 😁
We stopped in for lunch, and had a wonderful experience. The food was fabulous, and the service was exceptional. Alisha is the most attentive and positive server. You are enjoying ourselves so much we did not want to leave
Welcome back to a true American Diner! Family owned and operated. Lynsey, our waitress was an absolute gem. Best service I’ve had at a restaurant in years! The food was fresh and homemade, the atmosphere was a delight. My family had everything from pancakes to taco salad, and everyone was thoroughly impressed with the taste and freshness. Great Job Blue Ribbon!
The Reuben sandwich here was absolutely amazing! Home fries I'd have liked crispier but the Reuben was just too good not to give a 5 star. The staff was incredibly friendly and the peanut butter cup cookie I got afterwards was amazing! Highly recommend stopping by to try the Reuben.
I am so excited to come through town and see the Blue Ribbon is open!!! For DINE IN and they even have lovely outdoor seating. What a way to celebrate the sunny day and remnants of summer before it gets too chilly. I bought a bunch of their cookies 🍪 but left a few for the next visitors. Check out the raisin French toast, you will NOT be disappointed 😋
Without a doubt, hands down, the BEST brisket I have EVER had, I had their home made bean soup (to die for). We had the HUNGRY man which was enough for the two of us. The brisket and pork were amazing, the ribs were wonderful, the beans awesome and the "local" slaw just topped it all off perfectly. Our waitress was wonderful and I would have loved her to sit and enjoy the meal with us! It was a down home restaraunt. So, if you want to sit in with the farmers and experience the local color this is for you as it was or us.
Google suggested Blue Ribbon when we searched for BBQ for lunch. We have to say the food was good and arrived hot. I don't know that I'd consider our BBQ dishes BBQ by other standards. If I were to order again I'd ask for sauce on the side and control that level of saucing myself.
The only problem i had with this restaurant is it's cash only. There is an ATM machine outside the front entrance. I don't think most people carry cash when they go out to eat. And paying an ATM fee wasn't a great thing for me. The Food was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. It wasn't really busy and I could tell other people around me were enjoying their meal. I will go back, but ill get cash first.
Good food, but some of the food was somewhat dry. Personally I don't mind well cooked chicken, but I know some people (ie my spouse) are put off by it. Well, I can say I really enjoyed my meal. I feel like the place could stand to have some more interior decorating though, a little more would go a long way on atmosphere. With some work, this could be a great local eatery.
Best BBQ sauce I've ever had- sweet but spicy and delicious!!! If you don't want to eat in the restaurant, get some to go! The BBQ sauce freezes well so take a quart home. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming. Easy to find, right on 96, and plenty of parking. The rest of the menu is pretty standard diner fare but that sauce is the stuff of dreams...
Cozy, friendly restaurant. Brakfast and lunch are excellent (haven't eaten there in the evening). Highly reccomended stop.
After many had suggested it, we finally got a chance to stop. Great little spot. Menu is decent sized, while not overwhelming. There is still something for everyone. Breakfast served all day. Super Melts made on that awesome, big, sour dough bread, that it seems most places have started to go cheap on. Smokehouse portion of menu comes highly recommended, but can't speak to it, as we'll have to try it next time. Great selection of deserts. Not just mass produced garbage. A chocolate cake that must be 15in high, a vanilla-bean cheesecake that was to die for, cream puff that's almost too big to eat and much more. Two dinners, drink and desert was about $30. Can't go wrong with this place. Bring cash though, they don't take cards. There is an ATM just inside the door though.
The food is great the service and waitress very very good the only thing against them is they do not take card that's a shame first time in my life I ever had to use a private ATM get charged 250 plus whatever my bank's charging should always be able to pay with card if you don't have cash
I love the place but then again I live in Phelps. The place only takes cash true enough but then again I am not paying the extra 3% for that stupid credit machine. The prices are very reasonable. Food is good, service is excellent with the rare off day when they are busy. I eat there all the time and enjoy going. Great local place to eat.
Awesome fast and friendly staff. Little pricey for lunch but not terribly ridiculous. Food was good and served quickly.
My bf and I went there today. Please note this is a CASH ONLY RESTAURANT! prices are around 12 dollars and up. They are the pace for sauerkraut. They even have a cake with it. My bf had a Reuben and really enjoyed it the sauerkraut and a wonderful taste. Will I have a hamburger and a half provolone with mushrooms it was a very delightful Burger.
We have had good food here in past visits but this time around I had the breakfast sandwich and it was a greasy mess. No flavor, just dripping in grease!!
Sat down , got our beverages. 20 minutes later I had to get up go to the counter and ask for a refill of coffee. Food was bland. Service was .... not even 25 customers in whole place. Some things never change in small town diners
Food was good, simple but always good. CASH ONLY! There is an ATM at the location. The baked goods are also delish.
Friendly staff and good food. We stop here about once a year for breakfast after camping. It's always busy, but we've never had to wait to be seated. They also offer baked goods.
Hot Turkey sandwich was tasty, real sliced turkey not processed meat. No choice but white bread, and we were not sure if the gravy didn't come out of a jar. The BBQ pork slices were fork tender and delicious. The BBQ sauce was sweet with a bit of heat. Service was a bit slow at first, as there was only one waitress on duty when we got there. Our server was very friendly and helpful. Cash only, but they have an ATM machine in the entrance way.
The food was good and the place was nice. More of a Diner type, I was surprised, bc it came off to me like a BBQ joint. The taco salad is made with beans, not beef. We didn't read the fine print of stuff, so that was on us and we ate it. The garlic bread was pretty good and the baked beans were maybe too sweet to have as a dish, but perfect how I like them- which is to dip with. 😋 the mot sticks were great. I'd stop again. The menu i posted is not the whole menu.
Our friends love it here so we came for dinner with them. The place combines bbq, bakery and some classics so what's not to like. We had various bbq dishes and where generally happy with the quality , sides where great and out server was friendly and nice, she was stretched a bit thin but that not her fault. They also have homemade baked desserts they are fantastic, if you are looking for a quick and easy bite in the area stop in. Remember CASH ONLY!
While the service is very friendly, I see the prices have dramatically increased, while the quality of products used to make meals has gone down. IE: chicken gravy was a canned product that had a VERY fake chicken flavor...and hint of vinegar (?!) If ya wanna eat here, try it, but don't set the bar too high.
I didn't have any issues with service as others had mentioned and the bakery items are pretty good. However, with the word "Smokehouse" included in the name, I thought they would take their meat products a little more seriously. I'm a burger and steak guy and I was disappointed in the cheeseburger I got. It's like a pre-formed, frozen patty. Tom Wahl's burgers are better. I'll try breakfast at some point, but not going to order burgers any more.
I have ordered take out several times here in the last few months in my attempt to support local businesses through COVID-19 and am disappointed every time. Tonight I got a hot turkey sandwich which had a whopping once slice of turkey on it, asked for fries and got about two tablespoons of mash with it instead. And the gravy tasted like it was warmed with leftover chemicals in the pan. I got a kids grilled cheese which was completely cold and too hard for a toddler to even eat with about 7 French fries with it. I was there for pick up well before my 15 minutes and there should’ve been no reason our meals were so cold. 3 stars because the waitress is always nice and the price is okay for having to waste food, but definitely will not be returning.
It’s one of those diners where the breakfast is truly great but in this small town the waitress knows the customers orders because they’re regulars. I’ve been here a few times and every time I come in I feel like an outsider and all eyes on me. It lacks cultural diversity and overall the rating is for the food and the servers are kind enough
Breakfast was mediocre. Prices were decent. My omelet was great but the pancakes were awful. The waitress was polite when seating us but that's where it ended. She did not return to ask how our meal was nor did she return to give us refills. She was completely preoccupied chatting with regulars. So I guess new patrons are irrelevant. When my husband went to the counter to pay the bill, she stayed in conversation with others and basically looked right past him while she made change from the cash. (btw this restaurant is cash only but there is an ATM)No acknowledgement. Literally not 1 word was spoken to him. No greeting, again did not ask how everything was, and no exit greeting. She did not say have a nice day or anything. Not a word! Rude.
Went there for lunch and surprised it was mostly empty. The prices are steep for diner food. The gravy was from a jar or bag, instant mashed potatoes and cold food. Good service though, hence the 2 stars. Probably won't be back
While the service generally speaking was fine, i'm leaving a 2 star review bc i have no intention of ever returning over hygiene concerns. My unused, supposedly clean fork had dried food on it. When I showed the waitress the dried food, she grabbed another fork from an unoccupied table to give me. This one was even worse and had even more dried food, despite the waitress giving it a once over. A different waitress took the second fork away and promised to return with a third, actually clean fork. We never got a third fork. Dirty silverware aside, the food was good and the service was ultimately fine (not great, but acceptable). My issue is i can't trust the hygiene of their kitchen if they're setting the tables with dirty silverware
We've driven past here so many times in the past few years, and finally decided to try it out. It was so disappointing. Meat tasted old, and was drowning in bbq sauce. Staff is super friendly, but not very attentive. The desserts so far have been good! We should've ordered breakfast instead.
Stick to fries at the Blue Ribbon Smokehouse. They're delightfully crunchy and tasty. A star was taken off for the river of syrup my French toast came in. Another for the eggy consistency. The third is for when I saw them putting up the chairs on top of the silverware!!!!! 🤢 Made me uncomfortable because I don't want to think of my own silverware touching the asses of everyone that ate there before me. Also makes me wonder what other sanitation corners are being cut. Our server was delightful though, very nice!
I took my teenage granddaughter here for a good breakfast, we left with bad tastes in our mouth. The scrambled eggs were on the watery side and tasted watered down. The pancakes, not even the fake maple syrup could save them. They tasted like flour and water, then grilled. Really disappointed as the prices were on the high side for what we got
The waitress was rude. They didn't want to serve breakfast even though we arrived at 1030am. The table busser tried to get breakfast menus and was ignored by the waitress. Then the waitress states breakfast only goes until 11 and still wants to argue. It all made sense when I see the regular menu has a more expensive, limited breakfast menu, served all day....starting at 11. There was no reason for the horrible service or attitude received.
Came in on a Wednesday morning at about 10am to meet with a client and have breakfast. I asked the hostess for a corner booth in order to be away from the regular clientele and not bother anyone, and was totally transparent that we would have our meeting and likely not need a lot, but we would tip well. The pretty simple request for a specific booth was greeted with a lot of concern by the hostess. When my clients arrived, all three of us ordered breakfast and had a great conversation over our meal. I had another client I was hoping to meet with in the same location since it was central to us, and I was conducting business on the road. When my second client arrived, a different person whom I had not seen before came over to the table. She was openly hostile and extremely aggressive. Without any preamble, she interrupted a conversation in progress by loudly stating: “YOU CANT JUST CONDUCT BUSINESS HERE” at the top of her lungs. At this point it was about 12 noon, and the breakfast crowd was almost all gone. I looked up and said, “oh I’m sorry, my friends just left after having breakfast, but I was hoping to stay with my other friend and have lunch.” She stated (at the same volume in the same aggressive tone): “BUT YOU JUST ATE!” My client was equally flabbergasted, but she rallied and stated she had not eaten and would love a menu. The woman then said “THAT ISN'T THE POINT. YOU HAVE BEEN HERE FOR HOURS. YOU CANT JUST STAY HERE AND DO MEETINGS. YOU NEED TO GO RENT A BUSINESS SPACE SOMEWHERE.” Then she looked at my credit card on the table with my receipt and yelled that they don’t take them and stormed off. I went to their on-site ATM for cash. When I returned my client let me know that she and another waitperson were loudly abusing me for coming there while I was away from the table. When I paid the bill, I asked where the kind hostess was. She was the one who sat me, took my order with my first clients, brought it to the table and refilled our coffee, then bussed our plates. She was gone after the morning rush and I was informed that the incredibly aggressive woman was my waitress. I paid the bill- with a tip for time I had spent at the table- and left to find another location with my client. A couple of things : 1. I worked in waitressing before graduating into my career field of finance. I was fully prepared to tip on my time at the table as she could not turn the table to another customer while I was there. 2. I have never in all my life seen a person in food service treat a paying customer the way this woman treated me, in front of another person who also wanted to be a paying customer. I fully intended to eat there twice and tip well both times, and rather than allow us to do that and be elated we were bringing in more business, she was aggressively policing my calorie intake in an effort to kick us out. 3. She essentially accused us of squatting in her restaurant, when both I and my clients ordered food, were polite, and tipped well. The only difference between myself and her other customers that morning was that I was not from Phelps, and that I was wearing a suit and had a notebook. Apparently, that is a huge problem at this place. 4.Across the street was a garden center that caught my eye and that of my second client. Her abusive behavior cost not only her business, but the garden center too, since we had to relocate somewhere else. 5. It is in fact quite common practice to conduct business meetings over a meal. During the pandemic many many many restaurants- esp family owned ones- closed due to financial hardship. The way this woman treated us is even more unbelievable in light of that, and in light of the fact that I suspected all along she was the actual OWNER of the place. We are just now seeing restaurants get back to prepandemic business and this woman essentially verbally assaulted us out and ensured we would never come back. IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS PERSON STAY FAR FAR AWAY. All but the brunette hostess were horrible, and the food in no way justifies the treatment.
7/4/2021 at approximately 9:30 am. Two people. Took awhile for waitress to get our coffee order then awhile for it to be brought to table. Breakfast was mediocre at best. No coffee refills. Go to pay and she tell us cash only. Well put up a sign! I walked in and out and there are zero signs. Maybe at one time they had one? Won't be back.
My girl friend ordered a hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and corn. Myself had a blt. Her's came luke warm. The waitress was told and really they did was zap in the micro wave. It really wasn't all the good even after that. My blt had very little bacon on it. I understand the price of bacon has increased. For what I was charged I could bought a pound and half of bacon. When we paid our bill and explained our meal. I felt she only cared about getting money not that we had an terrible experience. I would say we won't be back there for a very long time. It was garbage
Ordered 1/2 smoked chicken dinner the chicken was cold inside and it certainly wasn't smoked that day, no smoke flavor lathered in BBQ sauce.slaw was mixed with broccoli and was not at all tasty. The French fries were good, beans were beans nothing special to them. Service was typical diner service.wont be going back not a fan of left over chicken.
Stopped in because I saw smokehouse. We didn't get any of the sides that were supposed to come with our food, the meat was all fat and the waitress never came back to check to see how our food was or if we needed refills. I had to speak with the nice woman that was cashing people out and she apologized and took money off our bill.
Ordered baby back ribs and sliced beef and sliced pork. Portions are emaciated and extremely pricey for the size. The ribs were hard to chew, very dry and did not look like baby back ribs....more like sad regular ribs if anything. Ordered a desert and it didn't seem to be the freshest and it was expensive for what it was. Spent $60 on some canned beans, sad looking ribs and child size portions of food. The best things we had were the French fries and the onion rings, although those sizes were small and definitely store bought. We left knowing we will never come back. I have no idea how this place got the good reviews. This was a cafeteria lunch at best
We've been here before, food quality is average. Just your basic cheap little diner. Today on 10-4-22 we came in, I had a coffee I got earlier and we decided to stop in and eat. The server said I had to throw out my coffee or she wouldn't serve us so we walked out. We would have ordered two meals, I tip well, and this is one of our usual stops. I won't go again.
I live about 5 house down from this place. I have been in several times with my son and it's always been pretty good. After this evening I will never go back. I walked in at 7:32 and was told the kitchen was closed. The hours they have posted online say the place is open until 8:30. I guess laziness is just the standard there they just leave when they want. The fact that the owners can't even have the respect of there customers to honor the hours that they set is a joke.
Normally I love this Restaurant for quality food and friendly service. Today, however several of the tables had crumbs and left over creamers on them. The waitress did not ask if we needed a refill on pur coffee until 45 minutes later. :( The food was not very good for the price. Hopefully, next time I will have a better review. Very disappointing 😕 😞 this time.
Finally stopped to check this place out with my mom. Was left disappointed in the quality of food we had. I had a bacon cheeseburger, and my mom had the Ruben. Both of which weren't that great. Service was fine, no issues there. However, both of us were hit with mild food poisoning. I'm hoping this was just a bad day, but this was the only place that we had gotten food from. So it was easy to narrow down where we got sick.
The food was expensive and portions small. The waitress was terrible, rude, not very helpful if a problem with your dish arises. They dumped BBQ sauce all over the food and when asked for one with no sauce on the bun they changed the top bun but the bottom bun was soggy with BBQ. Then they only take cash but the only thing that says it is cash only is at the register. So you probably won't know it's cash only until you go to pay for your meal. But they conveniently have an ATM with an extra charge handy which is ridiculous. All in all we won't be returning to this place. My recommendation is to pass on this one.
One of the worst restaurants I've ever been in service-wise, The food is okay for breakfast. If you like paper, thin bacon and heavy pancakes. I went twice and 2 weeks. The wait staff brings you, your food and your check. You never see them in between.(and I said at the bar). Today the waitress was singing so loud and off key that I had to get up and leave the restaurant. I will never return.
When we walled in, the waitress just pointed to 2 tables we could sit at.Asked for med rare - got well done. Waitress dropped a 🍅 off another customer's plate and never picked it up. I should have listened to my guy. Years ago he went there and it was bad. Guess some things never change.
