It was my first time trying this restaurant and I am so impressed! I'm not sure if they're a new restaurant in town but it was fairly quiet when we first showed up. However, their staff were very kind and the atmosphere is so nice as well! Today they offered a buffet style and we got to try so many different dishes, and I loved each plate I got to try! I truly recommend this restaurant to anybody wanting to try Mediterranean cuisine because they are fairly affordable and their food is delicious! 10/10 would recommend and come again.

This place was fantastic! Excellent Middle Eastern food. All the appetizers are delicious. I had the maqluba and it was delicious, not to mention enough for two meals. Our waitress was Mikaela. We had a big table, 11 people for a birthday dinner, and people kept her running. She was incredible. Everyone got everything they ordered, waters refilled, to go boxes, anything we asked. Wish I lived closer. Will definitely be back.

Never had Jordanian food before but this was a great experience. We stopped her for work between sites and grabbed lunch. We tried Amasi's chicken which came with rice and a side salad. I'm happy this place gives you an actual salad instead of just lettuce and dressing. I will say this for sure... SOME OF THE BEST BAKLAVA I HAVE EVER HAD. I should've ordered a 2nd one. I've had some good baklava before but this was top tier in my opinion.

Very good food and atmosphere. Wonderfully decoratedx with nice attention to detail. Portions were huge--packed enough for a whole nother meal. As a vegetarian, I really enjoyed the fresh falafel and loads of greens in both the salad and taboule. Recommend stopping by!

First time trying out Mediterranean meal that I didn't try to cook myself and having my expectations wow, was my experience this evening with Amasi Restaurant. And a big thank you to Huma for her excellent service. It was nice to have cultures connect. We have definitely found us a nice place to stop by every once in a while.

Amasi is an amazing spot with great food and excellent service. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the dishes are always fresh and full of flavor. I also love that they have a separate lounge area for anyone who wants to enjoy hookah after dinner, it’s a perfect way to relax and unwind. Definitely recommend! My new weekly spot.

Pleasantly surprised about the quality and cleanliness of this place. Excellent atmosphere and great quality food. My partner and I are quite harsh food critics and this place not only was authentic, but high quality and affordable. Will be returning with family and friends in the future.

We were in the area so made a stop to try out this restaurant. It was just amazing. The food was so fresh, delicious, juicy chicken and meat. The lemon mint drink was amazing. The bread they gave was super soft and delicious. HALAL Meat is served here. They were very accommodating and super nice. Clean restrooms with diaper changing stations. They do have hookah lounge which looked clean (I didn’t use it). Will come back again!!

We had a lovely early dinner Friday evening. Just when we almost couldn't pick a place for dinner after a quick errand trip. They had a great, spacious, and well decorated dining room. We tried the grape leaves and hummus for appetizer and each had a kebab entree for dinner. The filet was great but the chicken was a surprise winner! Tender and flavorful. Portions were great too. Be ware, the charred pepper is spicy!! Staff was warm and welcoming and made for a comfortable dinner out with a toddler. Thank you Amasi's!

Ate the beef shawarma here with my two littles (they had chicken & fries). Was greeted with warmth and kindness. Loved the atmosphere - definitely enjoyed being surrounded by authentic middle eastern culture again. And, of course, the food was delicious! Thank you!

What a hidden gem! We ordered 4 appetizers and split an entree and we left stuffed and with leftovers. The Bronzino fish was seasoned well and the rice that cones with it was excellent. Although it took a while for the entree to come out it was well worth the wait.

The inside of the restaurant was very nice and well decorated. The lobby has a fountain and pictures which add to the authentic feel. There is a large dining room that has several tables but doesn't feel cramped because of the way the tables are arranged. The food was excellent. I had the kuftah platter. The beef and lamb was well seasoned, the sauce complimented the flavor very well. My son had the falafel and loved it. The amazing maza appetizer offered a little taste of everything so we got try the rich pallet of flavors the restaurant offers. The fried cauliflower was great. Very friendly and courteous staff. Definitely going to come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

My husband and I ate here today and it was super delicious. We had kibbe, Amado chicken pasta (they were out of lamb) but was still yummy, lentil soup, magluba, hummus, coffee and kunafa for dessert. It was empty for a Thursday but it did not disappoint.

Fantastic food and service! We got the hummus and eggplant as appetizers, and loved both of those. I got the shish kebab and meat was tender and flavorful, and it came with a generous portion of rice. My mom got the kebab and that was very flavorful and also came with the same portion of rice. Waitress was nice and attentive, and the inside was beautiful! A bit pricey but definitely worth it for a nice night out.

Great service! Bread, stuffed grape leaves, kebabs, and desserts were delicious (especially the fried cheese and phyllo dough). Everything is made from scratch. It is BYOB but you can just run across to Bourbon Street next door. Glad to have this addition to Phillipsburg's restaurant scene!

We had a nice visit to Amasi Restaurant. The amasi maza with warm bread was fresh and delicious. The chicken parmigiana could have been hotter and the garlic bread was missed, but the flavors were still good. Mansaf was definitely unique and worth trying, even if it’s an acquired taste. We were hoping for the kabsa but they had run out that day. The restaurant is very clean, the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere overall was welcoming, just a little chilly inside. I’d give it around 3.5 to 4 stars and would be happy to come back and try more dishes.

Nice place, the decor and layout is nice. Although it’s pricey we tried the falafel platter and Kuftah. The Falafel was good, the Kuftah is a large hamburger patty topped with tomato sauce, and tomato and potato slices. It was meh. It’s BYOB with one of the best liquor stores next door so I suggest stopping there first.

Service was decent overall, but the experience had some hiccups. We had checked out the menu online and were told when we arrived that they also had a buffet. I love a good buffet, but I wanted to make sure there’d be something our picky kids would enjoy and that a few of the dishes we came to try were included. The buffet ended up starting about 30 minutes later than what their Facebook flyer listed, and when we asked the waiter what would be served, he had no idea. The drinks were fresh and delicious, and the food was clearly made fresh — but unfortunately, many of the dishes lacked flavor. Having eaten Middle Eastern food in Iraq and Turkey, I found the food here to be quite mild and missing that signature depth of spice and seasoning. The vibe was cool, with a live DJ and plenty of space (not crowded), which I appreciated. However, the service could use some improvement. The female server came off standoffish, and both my husband and I independently felt like we weren’t being “trusted” customers. We live about 30 minutes away up on Mt. Bethel and had lost power earlier that day. It was cold and windy from trick-or-treating, so we were dressed comfortably — not fancy — (“Do not look at the vessel, but at what it contains.”) but still, the energy felt off. The younger gentleman who seated us was by far the nicest and most welcoming person there. Overall, Amasi has potential — the food was fresh, the atmosphere was inviting, and it’s a great place for someone new to Middle Eastern cuisine. But better communication, friendlier service would really elevate the experience.

I would give this place no stars if I could. My husband and I used to frequent Amasi and really enjoyed it in the past. Even though the restaurant was totally empty when we arrived, they did not allow us to have a choice for seating. We are senior citizens and they insisted we sit at a table with very high chairs that we could not even get on and off of safely. When we asked for a table change they were very unaccommodating. It was karaoke night and we wound up sitting at a table with a speaker blasting loudly right into our ears and couldn't even have dinner conversation. The music was terrible. We had the buffet which used to be Middle Eastern foods. It is now very Americanized and you could get that type of buffet food anywhere. For the very first time in our lives, we did not tip the waitress because she was so unaccommodating. We're very sorry that we wasted so much money on a bad meal. Don't waste your time with this place, it has really gone downhill. We will never eat there again due to the horrible service and food. Sad, because it used to be our favorite Middle Eastern spot.

Went there with my husband to break our fast and the service was horrible. We waited so long to get a MENU!! It was so bad that we left and it’s busy for just one server attending all those tables. Very rude when it comes to getting seated and attended. I would advise for those who wish to go to not waste money or time here.
