Glad I was able to pop in before their 1PM close. That is a tad bit early for those traveling but they were so sweet and accommodating. I got a perfectly done iced decaf americano and suuuuper soft buttery croissant. They kindly obliged to give some jam to spruce it up a little as I was sad to have just missed the last almond croissant. Plenty of seating for throes who like to hang out or need to study.
If your love of coffee has plateaued, visit them and fall in love again ! Literally the best coffee in east bay. 10 times better than Starbucks (coming from a one time fan) I drink their blacks now, but coz my frnd really stressed to try their cappuccino and voila !! What a find ! Now i look for reasons to goto east bay to actually have their coffee.
Service was slow, theyre real busy but coffee was amazing. I got two! Pumpkin Chai latte and the vanilla latte with oatmilk. Got "the brekky", was good. Bread was not as fresh as could be and there was no syrup on the sausage as the recipe said but was still delicious. The sitting area is awesome, the artwork super unique and adds a fantasy vibe. Love this place! Will be back
This simple little coffee shop has surprisingly great breakfast sandwiches. Somehow, their fluffy eggs, accompanied with either sausage or bacon, atop their toasted bun, makes for a scrumptious meal. This, coupled with a latte, is an excellent way to start the day.
What an awesome coffee shop. Their breakfast sandwich is one of the best I have had. Really awesome little shop
We stopped on the way to the Bay Area and they had a great mocha and pastry. The art work on the walls was also very cool, I’d stop here again for sure.
This is always a wonderful place for great coffee and delicious bites.
AMAZING lattes. Perfectly balanced, sweetened. You can tell they take pride in their drinks with the equipment and homemade syrups. We came in for our morning coffee and had to come back for another because we are passing through the area and won’t be back for a while. The caramel latte, vanilla latte, ube latte, AND strawberry matcha lattes did not disappoint and actually exceeded our expectations. Can’t wait to come back!
The cocktail bar after 4 pm is a vibe. Drop in and say "hi" to Mari and Chris!
Such a fun spot for coffee, food or a drink! There’s plenty of seating and the Rosemary Gruyère scones are delicious. Definitely recommend this spot but it is busy so try it out when you’re not in a rush as there is a little bit of a wait.
Wonderful service, delicious drinks and pastries. I go multiple times a week.
Mari was phenomenal! We had wonderful cocktails as usual, particularly her creation of a chocolate espresso martini ( their espresso liquor has a hint of cherry wood so the addition of chocolate complemented this flavor well) should be added to the menu it was that good! We also had a burger & the meatballs both were delicous. From the drinks, the food, and most of all the customer service, Highly recommend 👌 We will be back soon!
We recently placed a pre-order of coffee to cater our wedding and they were super helpful and the coffee was delicious! They let us borrow coffee carafes for the event and return the next day. Would highly recommend their coffee for local events!
Hip coffee shop offering delicious food and great drinks. I recommend the belly up breakfast sandwich or smoked salmon toast. I recently found out that they are open Tuesday thru Saturday for cocktails and small bites. Tuesday is trivia night, so I will be checking this out!
More than your typical neighborhood coffee shop. This place comes alive after dark! I meet up with a group of friends Friday evening and was pleasantly surprised. The establishment is larger than it appears. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The hospitality is superb, the food is high quality and adult beverages are visually appealing and tasty. Special shout out to our hostess, Atineh! She has amazing energy and was very attentive. She totally made our night. Needless to say, this is now one of my town favs!
First time patron having just moved to the area, and we went Saturday (Aug 3) morning. Absolutely jam packed, which tells me good things to begin with. The coffee was amazing. I had an Americano with cream, and my daughter had an iced caramel latte. Nothing was overpriced, the staff was incredibly friendly, and we spoke with an off duty employee who was incredibly helpful, and there on her day off because of the vibe. We're going to be regulars. 💜 Oh! The cinnamon rolls on the weekends are TO DIE FOR!
It was my first time going here, and I LOVED it. I got just a cappuccino and cinnamon roll, but they were each delicious! It's probably one of the best cinnamon rolls I have had recently. A huge plus is that they are dog friendly and allowed me to bring my 2 large German Shephards inside with me to sit at a table out of the heat.
Came by here on a Saturday morning with friends. It was a great experience! Had the avocado toast with a vanilla latte/almond milk. Love the ambiance. All the treats in the window all looked delicious which made it hard to choose just one. I heard they make great Irish coffee's so I will have to come here again. This a great stop while passing through town!
Great little cafe! Visiting and found this cafe prefect for a coffee & lite breakfast. The lavender latte could’ve had one more shot of lavendar syrup. Bkfst sandwich was delish
BEST AVOCADO TOAST IN TOWN!! Do yourself a favor and make the order. It’s full of flavor and great presentation, it is sure to leave you satisfied. I like to have it with a side of hot chocolate which delicious as well. Come to East Bay Coffee and let it brighten your day!
Came here for coffee and breakfast and then again for happy hour around 4:30pm with co-workers. Breakfast service is a bit chaotic because it's rather busy. They got our order wrong but fixed it right away. The Belly Up sandwich is really hearty and good. Highly recommended. The happy hour vibe is much more relaxed with great service. The espresso Martini is excellent, the pisco punch is a bit too sour for my taste. The Onion fries, fried cauliflower and glazed pork belly are all very good, although the portion of the pork belly is small. All in all, best place in Pinole for coffee, breakfast and drinks.
It gets packed in here , but its a nice vibe. Good strong coffee, tasty bites of food and affordable. Good place to bring your laptop and work. Full bar as well for an evening cocktail .
I now have a new favorite coffee shop, this one! The service attitude is second to none. Very attentive. Our server was so kind. My vanilla late was on point, but the biggest surprise was the outstanding flavor of the breakfast sandwich. The fresh bun, real eggs with yoke was fresh, and the sausage was wow, delicious. I recommend you take the time to try this place out.
I was looking for an alternative to the chain coffee shops and decided to try a different route in Pinole. I was not disappointed. The entire menu looked delicious, but the avocado toast was calling my name. From the walk-up counter to the kind wait staff to the sense of community, I enjoyed being in the space's vibe. I got my to-go order, drove back to my destination, and opened the box… I was not expecting this excellent presentation, and the taste was even better. All of the flavors blended seamlessly, and I wished I had ordered more when I finished. Well done. I'll be back to try the other items on the menu.

Hip place with great service. I was looking for a coffee shop to read and get a pastry or small dessert. It was trivia night and the cafe was in mode, it's one of those new transformers! Atmosphere and staff super pleasant. Not conducive for reading but I did enjoy the drip coffee and a skillet cookie. So good. I kinda thought that may be the case... Consolation prize was awesome. 👍
They started going here because of trivia night and then I had a friend that hosted Open mic night. I enjoyed my espresso martinis and the fun surroundings. I definitely recommend this place for food, drinks and fun. Right now open. My night is stock but I hope they restarted because I enjoy the raw timing or the no talent. It's all fun
Super cute coffee spot in Pinole. Has great coffee & treats, and transitions into a fabulous happy hour and after hours hangout. They have many events like DJs and they offer great cocktails. 10/10 recommend!
Iced Havana is by far my favorite drink here! I always make a stop and grab one. Atmosphere is open and inviting but can get pretty busy with limited tables.

If you want to enjoy a real cup of JOE and not that sugary watered down stuff, this is the place to go. We usually order Matcha and vanilla latte and sometimes just a plain cup of coffee. At East Bay Coffee Co you get the flavorful taste of REAL coffee. My family love the Brekky sandwiches. I tried to take a picture of the Brekky but my husband couldn't wait 🙃 so this is what's left. 🤣
Came here to study after dropping my daughter off at school. It's a nice place but it was really full I waited a little bit before I was able to sit down somewhere. The coffee was good I had a caramel latte. It was really loud so if you want to study or finish some work here if that bothers you this ain't it but if not it's nice and lively.
Super delicious food 😋 place clean and organized. Lots of people on Saturday morning plan accordingly. The tables where full which was fine we came here for to go orders. Highly recommend !! 👌🏻
Coffee is amazing! The vibe is great, people are friendly and service is good! I took one star out because I thought this would be the place where I would find crunchy, soft, buttery croissant in my new neighbourhood but not quite.. I mean they are ok and better than the ones at Safeway but not finger licking good. That being said I would definitely return for their coffee! ☕️

Coffee and food are good, although expensive. Music was so loud we could hardly talk over it and definitely couldn’t hear them calling our names when our food/coffee were ready.
Like the coffee shop, but closing 1-4 means I can't really go there to get any work done. Please add more hours.
Coffee is delicious but it’s always a lonngg wait for ONE iced coffee no food no pastrie :(
We’ve been coming here for years but today was very disappointing. I saw that they renovated but they even changed the food I am used to. They changed the buns for the breakfast sandwiches, the cinnamon bun is SMALLER, and they gave me a hot havana latte when I ordered a cold one. Le sigh 😮💨

Slow slow slow… I’ve been here for dinner time, evening cocktails, and morning coffee. So that’s three different time frames, however every time the same old thing. Extremely slow and chaotic service. The atmosphere is fine, and the food is decent. The service is horrible. If you have all of the time in the world, then I’d recommend it, I guess. If you have any sort of timeline, do not come.
Interesting, but confusing venu for coffee/cafe vibes in the morning, but dinner/bar vibes in the evening. When you enter, the bar layout is very confusing; do I order from anywhere on the bar, do I wait to be seated? Staff look at you like you should already know. Not a lot of friendly greetings or smiles. It's not intuitive for a first time customer. The food was good and drinks OK. However when I asked staff about gluten in a drink on their menu, and male staff behind the bar was pretty condescending when answering, and was unable to show me a list of ingredients. They also close between lunch and dinner, which is very confusing, and there menu totally changes depending on the shift. So if you feel like a latte with a pastry after work, forget about it. Want to use this spot to study for an exam? Be prepared to call it quits promptly at 1pm. Late lunch at 2pm? Pear Street Bistro it is.

Last 2 times I visited, i waited 10 minutes for a small hot chocolate and the previous time a ube latte despite being one of only a few customers inside the shop? I finally asked why so long and found that they're more intent on filling 10-15 mobile orders, as opposed to servicing a patron who takes the time to walk to their shop and try and support local business. Additionally, when I asked an employee what a Ube Latte was (as it was a new special), he acted as if I were inconveniencing him to ask this question...I won't be back..
I ordered the bayzigg egg sandwich , which comes with omelete style egg. I ordered before it was really good. Today it came with the wrong style egg it was their marbled egg, so i went back to get it fixed but i was told thats how they do it now. I feel really disrespected and now will not come back here. I refunded the sandwhich and its really bad customer service to tell a customer they are wrong when i had ordered it before and it was different.
I stopped into East Bay Cafe in Pinole recently while waiting for a client and ended up sitting there for almost an hour. During that entire time, not once did any of the staff behind the counter make eye contact, check in, or offer a simple “Can I get you something?” The issue wasn’t online ordering or confusion about how to order — I was seated right there, clearly visible. The real problem was that the employees seemed completely wrapped up in their own personal conversations: talking about weekend plans, music, parties, and everything except the customers in front of them. It’s a shame, because the space itself has potential, but the service I experienced felt careless and unprofessional. A café that serves both coffee and alcohol should still remember the basics of hospitality — acknowledging the people who walk in. Until that changes, I can’t recommend this place.
Paid through Square, waited an hour — no one bothered to make it I ordered ahead through Google Maps / Square Pay and got the confirmation text. I showed up, waited nearly an hour past my pickup time, and finally went to ask what happened. The barista looked at me and said, “Oh, it’s right here. Do you want me to make it?” Excuse me? The drink was “right there” but never made? I had already paid. This isn’t a favor — it’s basic service. If a café chooses to use Square for online orders, it should at least monitor the tablet and fulfill them. Customers shouldn’t have to chase down their paid items or feel invisible while the staff socializes. This experience was embarrassing for the business and frustrating for me. I won’t be back unless management decides to treat online customers with the same attention as walk-ins. That kind of dismissive treatment is unacceptable. I live in the area and am well connected with lodges and organizations in Pinole and Hercules (Elks, Lions, etc.). I will be sharing my experience locally so others know how I was treated.
