This place is absolutely lovely. We dined outside. I had the chance to get the Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta and the Pepperoni Pizza. They were both very flavorful. They Pasta was just as the name says creamy and the chicken was fresh and had just the right amout of kick to it. Our server, Asher, was the absolute best, very attentive. I can't wait to return.
Been in the area for four years and went for the first time Saturday 9/4. We have been missing out! Make sure you make reservations. That is the only caveat. We had to wait for 30-45 minutes but it was well worth it. The food was amazing and the service was above and beyond! Nicole in the tasting room was extremely helpful and our server Laura was the epitome of customer service. Of course the wine was also a highlight but even without that the experience was a great one. If you are ever in the area make sure to put this on your list of stops. We will definitely be back.
Invited for a friend’s birthday dinner. The food was delicious!!!! Best chicken fried steak I ever had!!!! The wine and appetizers were amazing. Great place for that romantic dinner or special occasion.
This 5 star review is for the wine alone great wines Friendly waitresses and helpful table bussers and a quick bar back that gets your wines out fast even on a busy night Any waitress there you won’t be disappointed with your service
We had an incredible night. The hospitality at Los Pinos Ranch is truly unique. We started our evening with a wine tasting and private tour. During the tasting we had a wonderful visit with our host. She was excited about the various wines and enjoyed telling us about them along with others opinions. After our tasting we were taken on a private tour with one of the owners where we learned so much about the entire process. Knowing what goes into each bottle truly makes you appreciate it more. After our tour was complete we enjoyed another glass while we waited for our reservation. Once sat we enjoyed the crab cakes appetizer with lemon risotto which was absolutely delicious and paired well together. For diner I had the Filet and my husband chose the venison chili, both were excellent. I especially loved the extra touch of herb butter on my filet. We also enjoyed listening to live music and not being rushed to finish. From the host, to our waitress, the manager to the owner we truly felt special and to be honest there was nothing special about us, their hospitality is just that good! I highly recommend a night out at Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards, it’s perfect for a romantic getaway or a couple’s night out with friends.
Love this winery! We can't say enough about their selection of wines and food. We literally picked a state park to camp at because of its location to this winery. Great tasting experience in the tasting room and the restaurant service with Lori was awesome. If you like smoking cigars, Jeff recommended we get a couple of cigars and enjoy them...which we did. Amazing food and wine. If you are ever in the area, make this a destination. If you aren't, look for their wines at your store. I challenge you to pick a bad one...I'll wait...it won't happen.
Live music, combination of local High School Graduation groups, Evening before Mother's Day, Saturday night prime time dining time and the entire restaurant was able to accommodate a large family celebration group. Excellent menu selections, excellent service and great food presentation and quality throughout a long night!!! 30-40 in the group.
Beautiful place in the middle of nowhere. Google maps took me right to it, though. Live music, good food, great service, and they obviously have wine (I don't drink but was here for a birthday party). It can be pricey as most meals start at around $15. I had the salmon and it was delicious. They also have some delicious appetizers. If you're looking for a nice night out I do recommend this place.
We were there for the Valentine's Eve event. They were very busy with servers almost running to wait on their customers. We had a minor hiccup when we were seated, in that none of the waitstaff was assigned to us. We waited quite a while before I went back to the hostess and asked about the situation. I'm extremely happy to report that she rectified the situation immediately and a server was with us promptly and took excellent care of us for the rest of the evening. The food was nothing short of exceptional and the service was stellar. This was a special menu for the evening, but I can tell you it was all amazing, from the pear salad to the crawfish chowder and the blackened redfish was simply perfect. The desserts were absolutely some of the best I've ever had anywhere and were the crowning jewels for a perfect evening. I would recommend this place based solely on their service and how they treat their customers, but I'm also glad to say the meal was as good as you can find anywhere. Go see them, you won't be disappointed!!
Great place to eat and drink with friends!
We enjoyed a wine tasting followed by dinner. Our pourer was very knowledgeable and entertaining which provided for a great overall experience. We were fond of several of their wines and left with 6 bottles. Sweet Rodeo Red makes a great sangria! The dining area is quite spacious and has a large patio adjacent to the vineyard were entertainment i s provided on Friday evenings. We have visited the restaurant twice during our RV visits to the area. Every item on the menu which we have tried is excellent. Don't pass up the pizza! This is such a surprising culinary gem for Pittsburg! It is off the beaten path, so don't wash you vehicle before you go!
What a hidden gem. The ambiance, the music and food is accompanied by amazing wine. You have to check it out.
Entertainment was awesome. The food was excellent and the wine was wonderful and reasonably priced. The service and VIP seating was first class. As club members it is our favorite place to go, and we couldn't recommend it more highly. Try it!!!
My grandmother and I came here for a Christmas dinner, and we had the best experience. Started in the tasting room learning about all of their different wines, then moved to the dining room for a dinner of pizza and wine. Food is great, restaurant and restrooms are clean, and ambiance is perfect.
This is such a great winery! Loved the wine, the labels are greatness! We had a margarita pizza that was good but the app we had was really good! Get the cheese toes, really good stuff! We will be go back for sure. The live music is great as well. Very good musician on Thursdays and Sundays.
Beautiful day to sit outside on the patio overlooking the vineyard. The food was delicious, especially recommend the cheese toes. I had the award winning Trebbiano wine. Delicious. Prior to lunch we sampled several wines, all of which were very good. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. It all made for a very pleasant and relaxing lunch and we look forward to returning.
We used to come once maybe twice a year for the last several years. The food and wine have always been great but the service was sub par. The people from the hostess to the waiters/waitresses would act like they didn’t want to be there and made you feel like you were putting them out. That’s the reason why we didn’t come anymore than that. We came on my Birthday in June of last year. We had the pleasure of meeting our waiter Charles Robert’s! What a difference it made. Since June we now come once to twice monthly. We also joined the wine club. He was the first to tell us about it. We hadn’t known about it until June. I’m not sure why the others haven’t even mentioned it. The food is outstanding! Whenever we go we always make sure we get Charles.. He is such a delight and really cares about his customers!
Relaxed and peaceful! Great view of the vineyard!!!!!!!!!! The steak and tapas platter where amazing! Please do yourself a favor and try this place!!!!
I had the crab cakes with Pinos Colada. It is a great pairing especially if you prefer sweet wine
Always a great place to eat with a great atmosphere and friendly staff
Delicious wines, delicious food, and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back here again.
I was brought here for my birthday and we did the wine tasting/tour and dinner. Kelly from the wine tour was exceptional she was so knowledgeable and enjoyable to be around made the experience so much fun. We will definitely be back.
Our waiter, Charles, is really very good at his job and is helpful not only in wine ordering but also with food orders. He has been there long enough to remember his customers and deserves accolades for his attentiveness and professional demeanor. We enjoy having him whenever we go to Los Pinos in Pittsburg. Carolyn Stewart P.S. He should be praised for his good work!
Food is great. Service is great and atmosphere is awesome. And no wait time if you make a reservation.
We've been several times. Every experience is wonderful. We enjoy the ambiance of eating outdoors at night, the fun atmosphere in the tasting room, and the attentive servers. The food is top notch! Best hidden place in Pittsburg!
Our family had a table of 12 for dinner during the holiday season and everything from the friendly and welcoming staff to the food to the wine was marvelous! We’re so happy we could celebrate the holidays together at Los Pinos. They were so accommodating with young children as well. Look forward to our next experience at LPR!
We've been to Los Pinos several times in the past 15 years. The food has always been great and I believe the wines have continually improved. What we've noticed lately is our service. For my wife's birthday, Charles was our waiter. He was a joy to have serve us and was so helpful with the menu, and eventually we signed up for Wine Club. Charles goes above and beyond for his tables. I wouldn't have any other waiter at Los Pinos! PS, the rest of them need to step up their game..
Girls’ weekend and we did the tour on a Saturday late afternoon. Beautiful grounds, delicious wines (the tasting is definitely the way to go!), and an informative and interesting tour with one of the owners who obviously loves what he does. Next time, we will also make a reservation to eat at the restaurant. (Got takeout bread and dessert, which were both very tasty.)
I absolutely love Los Pinos! I drive down from Oklahoma on a pretty regular basis! It’s such a gorgeous atmosphere for a dinner with your love, a night with your gals, or you just wanna be out and eat some amazing food. The food is delicious, the pizzas are awesome, the wine is luxurious, and the atmosphere is just gorgeous! I was even able to take a wine tour last time! It was so fun! Jeff was super entertaining as well as informative. They even have this gorgeous little cabin you can rent steps from the restaurant! I highly recommend all of it! 12/10 stars!!⭐️
For those looking for a nice upscale dining experience with a casual, relaxed environment this is the place for you. I traveled up to pittsburg from Dallas to visit my family over the weekend and wanted to treat my parents to a good dinner while i was here. I had heard from some locals about this place so we decided to give it a shot. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the host and proceeded to meet Charles our server for the night; who in no small way elevated our dinner experience at Los Pinos. Past regular formalities of service we could tell he genuinely cares for the guests, was very conversational, and pleasant. He also was very knowledgeable about the food, drink pairing and answered all our questions. Apart from this I would like kudos to the chefs who prepared the fantastic meal. We were quite impressed with both the timeliness in which the food was prepared and the quality and balanced flavors of the food. Living in the Dallas area I have visited many restaurants who - in their own right- are well deserving of their reputation. However, till now I had not found a restaurant that I could truly call exceptional. Seldomly do I enjoy a resturant enough to visit twice in a week, but after the experience we had. We went both for Saturday Dinner and Sunday Lunch, and will likely be making the drive again to visit this remote gem. Some of the highlights : The Ribeye was perfectly cooked, a lot of places can make a good steak but the pairing of it with the sweet candied carrots, and the creamy mushroom risotto is what really made this dish stand out The Lemon parmesan pasta was very good as well, the chicken was light and crisp, the lemon was not too overpowering, though the pasta was a bit undersalted I know it's a matter of personal preference Finishing of with the creme brulee, I have very few words...Divine, buy it and try it for yourself. Brunch menu The real winner of this visit was the Chicken and cornbread waffles. The batter they used on the chicken was extraordinary -thick, fluffy, and crispy at the same time, with a subtle maple flavor. The cornbread waffles where a good take an old classic(warning they have a mild kick to them) Finally, I could describe everything with a thousand words but one bite/sip is worth more than all of that. So go and try for yourself!
Unfortunately, I did not take a picture my meal. I had the Parmesan crusted scallops over fettuccine pasta. It was awesome. The service by Lori was outstanding. I went there to meet a group of people. It was over an hour away, so I won't go often, but would definitely go back here if in the area.
I’ve updated my review to reflect how much we love this place. We have had many experiences here with family, friends and business associates- we have almost always left content with our experience and love to recommend others to Los Pinos! Make a reservation- it is normal for them to be at capacity since they have such wonderful wines and atmosphere. Don’t be in a rush, their main entrees take awhile but never disappoint! This is an experience to be enjoyed. The tasting room has always been a favorite with kind and engaged staff happy to tend to patrons. Los Pinos normally has a 4 or 5 star rating from us!
We love the winery. Their pizzas are all excellent and you. Annoy go wrong with any of the choices. We always enjoy doing a wine tasting and the views are excellent in the patio.
Excelente lugar el servicio excelente⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The wine is absolutely brilliant and the food is always delcious and cooked perfectly! We love the lobster queso app (see photo), 8oz. filet mignon w/blacked shrimp (see photo), salmon, cajun chicken pasta, burger is to die for (see photo) pizzas and carrot cake dessert. Jeff & Heather, Ken & Lisa and the whole team Lori, Ti and Zoie and Em (sorry if I spelled names wrong) are the best and we always feel like family and they create just the most wonderful atmosphere. Cheers!! 🍷 🥂 🦞 Mike Monin
It has been a while since we visited, but I wanted to take a moment to write this review. Such a fantastic and beautiful place. We went for an early anniversary dinner together and we were very pleased. Our server was Tarryn, i think i got that spelling right, she was amazing. Very attentive, kind, sweet, helpful, upbeat, i mean this girl was great. The food was great, the wine was tasty and the service was perfect. Hard to not give this place 5 stars after that.
This was the most beautiful place to spend time with my fiancé. We enjoyed a wine tasting in the tasting room where we had to take two bottles home that we loved! There was awesome live music that we enjoyed with our delicious food as well! We tried the Pig and Fig, the Tapas for Two, and the Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta followed by some crème brûlée. We can’t wait to come back and explore the cabins and vineyard! 😁
Such a gem hidden in the country! I've been living in northeast Texas for a while and it's always hard to find good places to eat. I had heard of this place and finally decided to give it a go. The place is beautiful. Upon arriving, the DJ was playing some nice songs from the 80s. The staff was nice and the food was absolutely superb. The food was major city fine food quality. I had the pig and fig pizza which was such a great combination. My husband had the steak which was perfect and the Mac and cheese was so good too. For dessert we had the menage - that is amazing but very rich. You can share that amongst four people easily. We had a bottle of the Texican and that wine was so good. I will absolutely go back. It's a tad pricey but the experience is so pleasant. I thought it was worth it. My only complaint would be that the service is a bit slow. It wasn't absurdly slow, but slower than average.
Worth the drive. Fantastic staff, food, wine, and view. Recommendation: do the tasting first then grab an outdoor table on their covered patio and order from their varied menu along with your favorite bottle of wine. Be sure to have a glass of the Chocolate-covered Strawberry wine! Truly one-of-a-kind. Also highly recommend the Pink Moscato.
Such a great place! Great atmosphere. You can eat inside or out. Looked like they had more outside dining than inside dining, which is great depending on the Texas weather😬. We ate inside and enjoyed looking out at the vineyard. We had the grilled salmon and tuscan chicken. Both were amazing. The risotto that was with the salmon was the best I had ever had! So buttery! My husband loved the tuscan chicken, the sauce was so yummy! The pinky tuscandero wine is sooo good! We got a bottle to go! Oh, and I cant forget the carrot cake, it was delicious.
What a hidden gem! Ive been out 3 times now. Last spring for wine tasting, December with other couples for dinner, and a few weeks ago just me and my husband for our anniversary. All visits service was good, December dinner was a Friday, there was live music, wines are great, foods delicious, quality and unique dishes on the menu come from a true chef. March visit was a Saturday daytime. I like the Kobe Beef burger, duck fat fries ( they've now removed from menu) BBQ braised short ribs with horseradish mashed potatoes is out of this world! Our favorite dessert is the Ménage. We really enjoy Los Pinos variety of wines, so with great foods and great wines, you can't grow wrong. Beautiful to sit out on the patio or a cozy evening inside. SO glad they take reservations, so it's easy to dine when we want!
We always have a great time. They have so many great wines. We have had their pizza, burgers, and steaks but my most favorite is the Cajun chicken pasta. The staff always treats us like family so we make a point to take our friends there. Highly recommend this place to everyone. You won’t be disappointed.
We have lived in east Texas for 10 years and just this year finally visited Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards. Nothing short of AMAZING!! My husband says it’s one of the top five steaks he’s ever had. The Lemon Tart desert is decadent!! And the wine is incredible! It’s darn near impossible in this area to check all the boxes, but Los Pinos DOES IT!!
A great spot to grab a nice dinner after an exhausting day at the lake. All the house made wine is excellent! The pizza was great and the cheese plate with olives goes great with the wine. The scenery is very nice being right there on the vineyard. Definitely recommend making a reservation any night during the summer.
A must see pitstop in Pittsburg!!! Los Pinos is nothing short of a diamond in the rough!!! Nestled within the secluded landscape of Pittsburg Texas is a gem of fun. Nicole directed my group as we sampled their fabulous wines. My girls fell head over heels for All My Exes, the Texican, Blanc du Bois and Besitos de Chocolaté. We were guided on an informative and intimate tour (with glass in hand) by the tallest glass of wine named Perry. The tour was indoor/outdoor (no stilettos ladies) and was the perfect amount of time to lead us into our dinner reservations at the on-site restaurant Vineyard Cocina, where we were tended to by the lovely Nikki. She gave honest feedback on the menu and we walked away STUFFED from Figgies in Blanket, Jalapeño Poppers, Pork Pops, steak and salmon to name a few. But we managed to work it all off as we shimmied and danced to the tunes from the best DJ crew in town the Pink Flamingo Sound Co!!!!!!
Went out to Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards South Of Pittsburg Texas and it was my 52nd birthday and the food was delicious and had the best service from a well mannered waitress that had the best sense of humor and her expertise in her job skills was excellent! The staff was very polite and friendly and it made my birthday extra special and the atmosphere was very informative and quiet. Me and my wife will definitely be back to eat there and drink some of the best tasting wine I have had in a very long time! If you are looking for something different restaurant, I would highly recommend this place for sure!
Muy agusto, buena atención, exelente ubicación!!!
Hermoso Lugar
I've visited this place 4 or 5 times over the last 8 years and its been a great experience every time. I can agree with some that the food, the wine, and/or the service is not amazing. But in comparison to what? This place is not in Tuscany, its not a 5 Star restaurant in NYC, and its not a fast food restaurant. Sure their cheese boards could use a little more variety, yes their wines could be a little more complex, and the service? This is a place you come to relax and spend a few hours and not one to come and grab a quick bite before having to go back to a business meeting. For around $25-30 per bottle the wines are great. The reds are my favorite and we always buy 2-5 different bottles to get a good taste of this winery (per visit). If the service is slow, we don't notice because we are lost in conversation, in a beautiful venue, with live music in the background, and a glass of wine in our hand at all times. This is a winery in East Texas and we can't compare it to anything in Tuscany, Andalucía, Bordeaux to name a few. However, this is a great winery that offers very good quality wines, at an affordable price, and I really can't say enough about the atmosphere and ambiance. I live in Dallas and every time I come visit friends in the area Los Pinos is always my pick to catch up and spend time with them. Some claim to cook better food at home... by all means, stay at home and let the rest of us enjoy their pizzas, tapas, wines, and live music at this beautiful winery in the middle of nowhere. And no, it's not that hard to get to it as someone mentioned. Los Pinos is a lot more than just wine, food, and/or scenery. It's an experience that combines different variables to make dinner a special occasion to spend with friends and family.
Go for the wine not worth getting a steak, salmon was good. over all wine makes up for food .....
I want to start by saying that Los Pinos is one of my most favorite places in the world! I absolutely love the atmosphere, the wine is amazing, and the food is great. My only issue is the tapas platter is not what it once was! It used to be filled with top notch meats, cheeses, fruits, the whole nine! Now, you pay $8 per person (no complaints with price), but on our tapas for 3 people, we got 4 pieces of cheese, 7 crackers, mushy grapes, and 4 chewy pieces of chewy prosciutto...among other things. What happened to salami, plenty of cheese for each person, quality fruit? Tapas has been a disappointment for a while! Increase the price if necessary to improve the quality of something that should be the star of the show at a winery!
This place is an old favorite of ours. Haven’t been in years. We dined in last night. It took a long time to be greeted after we were sat at our table- about 10 minutes. When we did get greeted by our server we found her to be a great server. Attentive and timely and she had a pleasant disposition. We ordered a bottle of the Chardonnay and a bottle of the Sangiovese. Both were excellent. Our appetizer was the trio- we selected ravioli, asparagus, and avocado. The asparagus was cooked perfectly but the batter was not crunchy, so that was a disappointment. They had wood fire pizza ovens so we ordered the pizza. The crust was spot on! Had a good chew but not overly thick. The toppings were a disappointment. I ordered the El Guapo (which has been a favorite of mine in the past), my husband ordered the pepperoni. Both pizzas had way to much cheese. I know there are some people who love a lot of cheese but the ratio of cheese to the other ingredients was way off. I couldn’t taste the prosciutto at all, and there was barely any tomato sauce. I found the pizza to be very bland tasting and not enough sauce to balance out the acidity. The atmosphere was great, the service was friendly, there was live music, and the place was hopping. I definitely will go back again as I loved the wine, though I won’t order the pizza again.
I wish I could give this place a 4.5, but I can't. So I'm giving it a 4. The wine is really good and strong. I loved the cheese and the bread, but it was probably because of all the wine I had. Now, the food is NOT that great. It looks like home food and the taste is not the best. I don't understand how such a nice place have horrible plates. Food is a 2 out of 5 stars. I'm giving this place a rating of 4 because of the cheap wine and atmosphere. I would probably come back.
Love the new owners. Food was great and love they have a cigar selection. Perfect to relax and distress after a long day or week.
Enjoyed my visit with my mother! Beautiful weather to tour the vineyard. Great customer service, great food. We particularly loved the breaded asparagus and cheesecake. We also had the shrimp fries, Tuscan chicken and house salad! All wonderful dishes! Hope to return to celebrate family birthdays that are coming up this summer!
2nd time here the food was average and seemed over priced 210.00 for four people And we only had cokes to drink They charge 3.00 per refill and glasses were wine glasses, so a small drink with refill 2x is 42.00 for 4 cokes when factor taxes and tip. We had three small pizzas, and a chicken fried chicken, and an appetizer and only 2 desserts Total was 210.00 The pizza was about what you would get at little Caesars and the serving was about 12-13 inches (small at any parlor). If it's all about wine and the atmosphere it's a good place, but if it's a family night out, this is 210+ for average food. The meal might have been nicer if the tables across from us and two tables over didn't. Bring their poodles that occasionally yapped. The setting is very nice, and there was a guitarist playing that had a raspy texture to his music, and played some original songs he wrote. He was a nice touch.
The service was fabulous, and you really can't beat the view. The windows needed to be cleaned. When sitting inside you look through dirty windows to see the beautiful vines and greenery. The food was ok, not great but ok. I would have hoped that a place with this curb appeal and price point would do better. A+ for the front of the house staff. They really made the visit.
We loved coming here when we lived in town however tonight’s experience changed my mind. We drove from Dallas to celebrate my birthday dinner with my family. Upon arrival at 8pm they sat us right away but took 30 minutes to get our drink orders. We weren’t able to order our food until 9:45pm, because we kept chasing our server down to let her know we were ready to order dinner. At one point I had asked for another water and waited for 15 minutes…my server decided to bring me a pitcher of water instead. I had to wait another 15 minutes to ask for a glass. One of my aunts ordered a bottle of wine when she had arrived and didn’t receive it until we were about to leave. The other guests also kept asking for drink orders that would not come until 10-15 minutes after they had asked. Another party beside us had more people & way better service that server was very attentive. I would ask her nicely to get out server because we could never find her. We understand if the place is busy and have limited staff but I personally felt like since it was a party of 11 the server didn’t care as much since gratuity was already going to be included. At the end of the night I wanted to have dessert with their sparkles for my birthday but I was afraid it was going to take another hour and knew they closed at 10pm. Overall we all left very unhappy & unsatisfied. The food was good it was just the service that was really awful.
Food good, wine good. Atmosphere good. Smell of sewage is unacceptable. I spoke with owner who said there was nothing that could be done about smell, however as we were walking out only those table closest to the elephant statue had the distasteful odor. Maybe a wall at that end of the patio would shield the smell??? Fans blowing away from the patio??? Someone needs to get creative! The smell at the end of the patio destroys anything and everything great about this place.
We’ve been here several times over the years and the food is always pretty good but the service has always needed some work. We had a reservation, got seated and then waited 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. Then waited for around an hour for our food. And what made it worse is our waitress rarely checked on us in the mean time. I’m a really good tipper but all of these combined really hindered that this visit.
The first time I went there, I loved it. We tried again, but this second time wasn't as good. The ambiance is very nice, I have to say it. Driving in through the vines is unique for this area and the place is so pretty. That part deserves a five star. The service was okay. The food, I feel like it's a hit or miss. I heard the Cajun pasta was so good so I ordered that. It was very bland. Not Cajun tasting at all. I hate to pay good money for food I feel I can make better at home. I was disappointed. I had the lobster queso which was good(not amazing) and the artichoke dip was very good too. Overall it was nice but I feel food was overpriced for what it was. I told one of the people working there it was any anniversary - places typically will offer you a complimentary dessert, but I got nothing. Not even a "happy anniversary". I don't know. It was good but I'm not so eager to return this time.
giving this place two stars for the fact it was a really nice setting but I will say that the service was very slow. My husband and I ordered Halibut that was terribly overcooked and when we told the waiter he really copped a bad attitude. He did not cook it and it was not his fault but the second piece came out almost as badly cooked. When I went inside to explain to the waiter that it was not his fault but that his I felt that he took he a bad reaction he basically looked at me and said so sorry and walked away. I would have asked for the manager but since it took forever to just get our checks paid, I did not want to wait. The waiter's name was Dan and we probably won't ever go back. Also they were out of the chef's special which is one reason we went, overall a poor experience
Lovely scenery and good wine, unfortunately the service did not mirror this. We were staying at one of the cottages on site (which was also great) and were told that a table would be available for us upon arriving for dinner. I had called previously to try and make a reservation and was assured that no reservation was needed. Once we arrived for dinner, a table was not ready and the staff did not seem interested in trying to uphold the guarantee. It was busy, however there was little care of emphasis placed on us as customers. We were also celebrating a special occasion and again, the staff did not seem to care. Once we were seated, the service was extremely poor and were only approached once asking us what we’d like to eat. Another couple actually approached our table as they were leaving and mentioned the service was terrible and that we should be prepared to wait. The manager was kind enough to not charge us for our food, however we weren’t looking for a free meal and were upset at how we were treated and the overall attitude of the restaurant. We will not be returning despite the wonderful location
Slow service. 6 tables taken. The server was not at all around when we needed our wine poured or black pepper for the poor Caesar salad she never checked on us - the Caesar salad was from a bag with the dressing. Tequila shrimp overcooked and barely warm. It has been good in the past at times but after this- we will not be going back. We have always liked taking friends there but won’t anytime soon. Sorry, it was not good.
I’m so on the fence with my review. I celebrated my 50th Birthday here. Prior to this I did a “tasting” appetizers only. Appetizers and the wine were great! Earlier in the day, a group and I did a tour and tasting..it was such an amazing experience, I was so excited for dinner. Unfortunately My birthday dinner was when things took a turn. Our group consisted of 25-30 guest. We had the best waitress but the problem, she had no help. Our wait time for everything was horrible. The appetizers were great once we received them but the entree’s were overly priced and past horrible again especially for the price.. all my guest had issues with their meal. The salmon was salmon jerky, all the steaks were cooked well..the charbroiled burgers were burned..the pasta dishes were salty yet tasteless…the chicken fried steak was pre breaded with dried meat.. I was so disappointed and embarrassed. Let me add that the staff, atmosphere and wine was great!!! The main courses/food will be the the downfall of Los Pinos Ranch.
I've been several times and it was always a good experience. Today's experience wasn't bad but the food wasn't up to par. Apparently there has been a change in the tapas. The selection wasn't the same however the price appeared like it was the same. What we got for $29 before was much more than we got today. The tapas board was extremely skimpy. Not at all worth $29. Everyone who got a burger at my table said that they didn't like it. Mine was not flavorful at all. The meat was dry and all I could taste was charbroil. No salt or seasoning at all. I barely ate half. There was no child's menu and I actually saw a family having to purchase a $16 adult hamburger meal for a 3 year old. The kids split a pizza and perhaps it was the one they chose but neither one liked it. They said it tasted weird. After reading numerous reviews on Yelp I can see the winery made a change in chef and menu about two years ago and many people don't like it. That's a shame because I have talked this place up to so many people in the past and now don't feel I should encourage people to go here because it's not up to the same standard it once was. The wait was pretty long today for everything we ordered. We weren't even asked if we wanted to sit outside and instead just sat there. At first it was ok but after being there an hour the patio was extremely hot and uncomfortable. I had to go to the restroom to get wet paper towels to cool myself off because I was so uncomfortable and sweaty. This place is beautiful but something changed in the past three years and it's not the experience it once was.
Only seating available was on the patio. The flies were terrible. The staff did not care. Our waiter only came around every 15-20 minutes. We battled the flies for an hour while we had two appetizers. Food quality was just so so. We have been going here for years. We probably will not be back.
We went there for my sisters b-day and told it would be about 45 mins to be seated. No problem. Asked if there was an area to get a glass of wine while we waited. Proceeded to go inside where a lady was pouring the wine for the servers and asked if we could order a glass. She asked where our table was and we explained we didn’t have one yet. Then she asked if we had a server. Not yet as we are waiting to be seated. She reluctantly served the 4 of us a glass of wine at $15 per glass!!! It was $60 plus my husband still tipped. Then my brother in law ordered another round. So before we were seated we spent $144 ON 4 PEOPLE 2 GLASSES OF WINE EACH. I only gave two stars because we had a great server. Will not be returning.
Great wine, great atmosphere, awful food and lousy service. Place wasn't busy, and we had a reservation. Took 10 minutes to see a waitress after the hostess sat us. Food took 30 minutes and the pasta was bland. Had to ask for salt, which she didn't bring for 10 minutes. Salt didn't really help- don't order the Cajun chicken pasta. The appetizer didn't come until after the meal. Ridiculous. To pay that much money and have a non-existent waitress and gross food, is very disappointing. We won't be back.
Spent our Valentines dinner visiting this place for the first time- what a mistake. From the get go our server who never introduced herself, so I have no idea what her name was, was awkward, absent, and just generally strange the entire 4 times she interacted with us throughout the meal. Appetizers: Caesar salads because “cheese toes” or “tater kegs” didn’t sound appetizing. They were dressed well, but overall boring. Entrees: My husbands overcooked, Ribeye steak was a flavorless hunk of fat and gristle accompanied by equally flavorless and devoid of seasoning sides. Garlic mashed potatoes clearly from Sysco and heated up in a bag and shrimp so overcooked they were rubber. My swordfish came out brown and I believe “off” because I could smell the fishy odor the second it was sat down in front of me. I had to make myself choke it down with the dry, flavorless risotto it came with. The wine I chose was actually pretty good and helped coat the disgusting fish flavor out of my mouth. Dessert: We didn’t even bother. Just wanted to get out of there as fast as we could. Our bill after tip was $165.00 Overall a disappointing, Valentine experience at this very rustic, small winery in the middle of nowhere. If you have a refined palate at all, I recommend not wasting your time and money at Los Pinos.
Wonderful view, everything was clean and well maintained. We just had a few hiccups: the food is super pricey compared to what you get. My margarita pizza was great. My husband's asparagus soup was very watery and needed some kind of substance, but tasted good. (Just bring a straw I guess) It took us a while to place our order. Our food came out before the wine. We had to flag someone down for a spoon my husband could use, I never got another glass of wine but all tables around us were being checked on frequently by the waiter and manager. We had wanted dessert and a bottle, but never saw Skyler again after she took our order and just gave up. I tried flagging her down but it took a good while to get our ticket to leave. Very frustrating experience for us.
The vineyard was beautiful. The staff were very nice. However, we did not get good service. We did not get water refills while sitting outside. It would have been nice since it was so hot. We like cold water while drinking our wine and eating dinner. As a mater of fact, we never saw our server again after paying the bill and tip. Speaking of, we didn't get our membership discount either. We were going to stay longer and go to the tasting room too after we finished our bottle of wine and dinner but decided against it. It all started out wrong from the get go. Update: 9/6/21 I cancelled my membership a month ago and yet I was charged another $128 today. I clearly explained I did not like any of the wines shipped each shipment. The bad experience continues.
This place is beautiful. I always want to start with something nice. The crab cakes and figgies are AMAZING. That’s it for the positive. Don’t waste your money. It’s extremely overpriced for food that is ok at best. We were seated for 20 MINUTES WITHOUT ANY ACKNOWLEDGMENT from anyone! And we were inside, with employees circling all around us. We watched the young waitress, Ally was her name I believe, literally stand at one table, visiting with what appeared to be her friends, until my husband went out to the lady who seated us and complained. We arrived at 6. There were only 3 tables with people seated. It was 6:20 when we still didn’t even have water. Finally, once we complained, the waitress leaves her friends and apologized, saying “they didn’t tell me I had a table”!!! We were sitting less than 10 feet away. So, we try to overlook this because we’re celebrating my birthday. We order a soda, tea, and 2 appetizers. We get our drinks delivered by waitress. Someone else delivered our appetizers (which tasted amazing), and FINALLY, after we had been finished with our appetizers, our waitress stops by to ask if we’re ok. Come on y’all, for your prices, waitstaff should be trained. Our food order should have been taken before appetizers were served….my husband ordered ribeye with truffle fries, I ordered salmon with lobster Mac…..no lobster, so no lobster Mac. Again, someone else delivered our food. Steak was overcooked. Truffle fries were super salty. No tarter sauce for salmon. Loaded mashed potatoes were ok. Asparagus was great. We ordered 2 desserts which both tasted great- Menage and Crème Brûlée. We also ordered coffee, which we never got. Again, someone else delivered desserts. By this time, we just asked for the check. $146. We are big tippers when service is good. My husband tipped $10, which was too much. Then, suddenly, we have the waitresses attention, as she scowled. Not good folks. The hardest worker in that place, visible to customers, was the youngest man there. He appeared to be maybe 15 years old and helped every waitress/waiter there. He delivered food, cleaned tables, and had a terrific attitude! On our way out, my husband tipped him because HE EARNED IT! I don’t like leaving bad reviews, but we are hardworking people who just wanted to relax and unwind over dinner. We don’t drink, but wanted to try something different. Extremely disappointing. We will never return. May God bless y’all…..🙏
UNBELIEVABLE!!! If I could rate this a zero I would. I have been a wine club member for years and have never been treated with such disrespect!! Still in shock how horrible we were treated. Not only from the disrespectful woman in the tasting room but from the manager as well!!! We went in to have a tasting of dessert wines. Was never greeted when we walked in. Stood at the tasting room bar for 15 minutes until we had enough. Two other women, you could tell had money, was served before us while we stood there waiting on a tasting. The manager there watching. All she could say was "well I hope you're next visit is better." Like oh hell no. I have spent A LOT of money at this establishment to be treated in such disrespect. I can not believe this happened. Needless to say we will be canceling our wine club membership and WILL NEVER return. The reply is a LIE!!! #1 we never wanted to sit down in the bar. #2 never did the "wine steward" ever greet us until we said something. #3 we understood there were people there before us and patiently waited. They checked out and paid before we said anything to the " wine steward". Then they just so decieded they needed something else. At that time the "wine steward" should have told them "ill be right with you." So apparently you need to go back and look at your security tapes!!! You are liars and horrible people to turn that around on well paying customers.
We have been wine club members for over a year. We used to love this place! Unfortunately the service has gone down hill over this past year. We drove over an hour last night to pick up our wine club box and to eat at the restaurant. The server was actually very nice and did a great job. I asked if we could pick up our wine club box and he later returned to the table to tell us the boxes are not ready yet but that we could return tomorrow or have it shipped to our home. I specifically drove to the winery to avoid the $30+ shipping charges. I let him know we lived over an hour away and I asked if I would be charged shipping for this box of wine. He said he would get the manager to speak with me because he doesn’t deal with the wine club stuff. He then returned to the table without the manager and said the manager told him that yes I would be charged for shipping or I can come back and pick up the wine anytime during this month. So I came 1 day early and you can’t give me a box of wine?! You’ve got countless bottles of wine here. Why can I not select the bottles I want for my wine club box and be charged now? It was obvious the manager didn’t want to deal with this situation and clearly provided zero customer service! Never came to our table! Instead making the server attempt to deal with this as best he could. We paid and left. I then sent an email requesting that my membership be cancelled immediately due to the poor service I’ve experienced tonight (and multiple other occasions). They responded by saying the restaurant has nothing to do with the wine club boxes and they were sorry that happened. They didn’t offer a solution to this problem at all. Extremely disappointing! They clearly do not care about customer service here!
Easter Brunch was AWFUL. Last year we had access to the full "normal" menu and it was fantastic. I had wondered why I could get reservations on Thursday for Easter. Now I know. IF they use this menu next year, forget it. In a side note: the manager needs to rethink her clothing choices. Wearing a black thong and black bra under a White Dress was regrettable. OK, it was embarrassing. She sets the tone for the staff and is an outward expression of the restaurant. This place has good food and drink. THINK CLASS next time.
Horrible. If I could give a negative review I would. The ribeye’s we ordered were cold, were not cooked right, no flavor just dry. The fillet mignon that was ordered was also cold, no flavor and cooked bad. The pizza was the same, flavorless. When we told the waitress about it she gave us a look of disgust. The whole time she had that face the few times she came to attend us. I did not catch her name but she was blonde and wore glasses. Late 30s, early 40s.. maybe even late 40s. I heard there was another winery nearby and heard very good things about it. This is the last time I’m coming here to this Pinos Winery. We were celebrating mothers day and we were all disappointed. In total we spent $540 for our cold and dry meals. I don’t leave reviews but this was just ridiculous.
We dined here years ago and remembered it as being good. So, we tried it again today--03/15/2025. We arrived on time for the 530PM reservation and our party of 3 was seated promptly. The first impression was the loud music outside. It is a winery in the country, not a club. A little soft music in the background is great but loudspeakers like it is a kegger is not appreciated. We dined inside. It took a while for the waiter to arrive, and he was full of excuses about working outside, etc. We ordered wine (the same stuff that you can buy cheaper at Harley's cheaper and enjoy at home). It was decent. The shrimp appetizer was good. The cheese toes were very mediocre. The el guapo pizza tasted like it had spoiled meat on it. The chicken fried steak was mediocre, and the mashed potatoes would make a nursing home chef cringe. The ribeye was abysmal and full of fat and gristle; the gried asparagus was ok. The mushroom risotto was low-rent nursing home chef quality. We ate very little and did not want to take home leftovers for the dogs. Thoroughly and completely disappointing. The single lane roads to and from are atrocious and the thought of meeting drunks on them is somewhat frightening. It is not clear to me why anyone would drive out there for their brand of food and drinks when a bottle of boone's farm and a bucket of KFC at home is better.
Horrible service and food I would not be coming back or recommending this place anymore we use to be regular customers , my mother-in-law is even part of the VIP Club . But this is our 2nd time having bad dry steaks no flavor, food was cold, bad customer service . We will be trying the new steak house in Pittsburg we always pay between $300 to $550 every time we come and is disappointing to pay so much for poor customer service and bad food.
We travel with my wife's genuine service dog and were denied access to the indoor dining room. We were told our dog would contaminate their space. We were offered outside seating in 91 degree heat. Needless to say we will not return. Although the ADA says we should be allowed we would rather not argue. We have never been denied access before in all parts of the country!
