Fab cocktail bar and decent whisky selection. Food is good for sharing/ lite bites. Lovely service and very knowledgeable.
Drinks here are well crafted, and a well stocked bar. With many spirits
Great atmosphere, good drinks. Try the tater tots
I love the unique drinks and the nice atmosphere
Great cocktails, food keeps getting better & better.
Bartenders are amazing and it shows in the drinks
Best cocktails in Pittsburgh!
Awesome drinks and delicious food not to mention the great atmosphere. I really enjoyed this place and the serving staff were very friendly.
sweety of a spot, good vibes and great drinks, I dont think you'll find any corn syrup on this corner. They let me bring my guns in too. Cant go wrong.
Strong drinks and good food. The buffalo fried cauliflower was AMAZING, easily can pass as chicken.
Tender is my absolute favorite place in Pittsburgh. I have never had a bad drink here and the food is all very tasty.
Friendly staff, amazing drinks and THEEEEEEE best buffalo chicken dip I've ever had!
Best Kept Secret in Pgh!! If this place were in NYC it would be packed! Fab cocktails!!
Great drinks, great atmosphere. It's pricey, but that's par for the course with a place this nice. Despite its fancy air, it's casual. It also gets points in my book for not being too loud to have a conversation with friends or the personable staff. I wouldn't recommend Tender if you're running low on funds, but if you're okay paying more, it's a fine experience.
Great cocktails with a very good ambiance. Will go again. Make sure to ask the staff for suggestions as their menu has alot of ingredients I was not familiar with. Explained what I liked to drink and they brought me something that fit my tastes as well as the rest of our group.
Awesome - if somewhat spendy - drinks. Comfy couches and a great layout for chatting with a few friends. Be warned: on a busy night, you really want to have advance reservations; they limit the capacity to prevent crowding the bar area, which is great once you're seated, but don't plan on being able to walk in at any time. The desserts are creative and tasty, also.
One of the best bars in Pittsburgh. Great attention to the drink menu. Tender has some very unique drinks that leverage the creativity of their bartenders. I highly recommend sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartenders, they have a tremendous knowledge of drinks and alcohols to tap into.
Absolutely loved it! The place was busy so we sat at the bar and had a wonderful meal. The sweet potato gnocchi and tender burger were amazing! The bartender was great and drinks were very tasty. The food was served quickly, the place is beautiful, and the prices were fair.
This is one of my favorite craft cocktail bars in the country and I have been to some of the best. Great space (my favorite in PIT), very good food whether it is just munching or something more substantial, and excellent cocktails/booze selection. Like someone mentioned down below; if it was in NYC , DC, or CHI this place would be constantly slammed and considerably more expensive. Total gem.
Love stopping in here for happy hour - creative cocktails, classic cocktails, and dependably excellent martinis. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable/helpful. Atmosphere is cool and decor is awesome as well.
Very limited tho delicious dinner menu, great cocktails
Good atmosphere, perfect for after dinner drinks
what a GEM
The cocktails are expertly made, the bartenders really know their stuff and everything is made with high quality liquors. The food was good but the portions are very small, not somewhere I would go on an empty stomach, but for a classy drink it's a great spot
This place used to be one of my all time favorite bars. They recently changed their menu and got rid of several of my favorite drinks and snacks. Still a fun place to bring a date or catch up with friends. On the pricier side of things but they use premium ingredients and have the knowledge to back it up.
Good drinks, but inconsistent service and disappointing food.
We had a reservation for dinner, but they sat or party of 7 at a tiny table. They also didn't have any solution for parking. Finally, the menu was limited. But the ambiance was fun, the service was friendly, and--as everybody says--the drinks were impressive.
The service is not the best. Decent food, but you can get 12 dollar drinks anywhere in the city.
This was a tough rating for me, because Tender is all about the meta experience you want from a bar/restaurant. My visit in detail follows, but a summary is that if you are looking for a business with an air of exclusivity/pretentiousness (not from the patrons but from the establishment itself) this is where you want to go. People want different experiences when they go out, but this was not my brand of recreation. Long story: I showed up in a group of 3 meeting one person already there. That lone person was at the bar with two empty seats beside her. The host would not allow my party of three in because one of us would be standing and the bar has a very strict "no standing room" policy. I've never heard of such a policy at any establishment in any other city. So all four of us left to go to another bar, but after walking for three minutes we got a call from the host saying a table opened. We went back, we each ordered one drink, and ten minutes later at around midnight our server explained if we wanted a second drink we would need to order now because they were announcing last call. At midnight. On a Saturday. We inquired why they would do this given all others bars in the city close at 2am, and our server explained it was because Tender chooses their last call "based on volume" every night, so you never actually know when they will close. So Tender is willing to turn three customers away because a fourth would violate an absurd policy, even though they would make more money and have greater "volume." Then, they are willing to close early denying themselves even more profit and forcing an abbreviated, unpredictable, and overall poor experience upon their clientele. We all want different sensations when we go out, and Tender offers a very unique one that I do not prefer. House cocktails were good, and I did not have a chance to sample their food menu.
The bartender asked us not to make conversation with other patrons. Never going back.
Out of Business
I know this is a hipster fabulous place with great craft cocktails and ironic hipster but elite fare... however i was mortified by the reception we received tonight. Despite a week long reservation for a party of 8 for restaurant week, they sat us at the bar seating area and expected 8 people to eat our 3 course meals from couches and a low coffee table. I don't even think the table CAN FIT 8 plates. After politely inquiring if they can seat us somewhere else where we can at least reach our plates while dining with comfort, they informed us that the empty restaurant (it was 6:40pm) was filling up in the next 10 minutes. We left and went to Senti who were more than accommodating of our large party on short notice. They even gave us a bottle of rose champs on the house! I guess our $500+ revenue / dinner means nothing to Tender. Trust me, guys, it's not worth it stopping by Tender. They obviously don't need your money. Sure, they have good and fun drinks... but so does the Abbey, Butcher and the Rye, Muddy Waters, Spork, Livermore and Industry. The food at Senti, Vandal, Abbey, Smoke, Spirit and many other places in Larryville is so much better. Skip this place and go somewhere where they actually appreciate your patronship and treat you like human beings.
Good selection and fantastic waiter, however terrible and condescending attitude from hostess and managers ruined it for us. Your money is better spent elsewhere where they appreciate your business!
