Haven't been here in a few years but I returned last night to find everything is still excellent. The food was incredible from the duck meatballs to the waygu meatloaf and raspberry creme brulee. Our server Matt was spot on. I'll remember to come back more often!
We had the most wonderful experience at Erie Grill on Christmas Eve. We came in last minute with our family, and despite how busy the night was, the entire staff was incredibly welcoming, accommodating, and kind, they truly made us feel taken care of from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Matt K, who went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality stood out. When he overheard that it was my mom’s birthday the next day, he gifted us dessert, such a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to our family. Between the exceptional service, amazing food, and a team that clearly cares, Erie Grill made our Christmas Eve truly special. We can’t wait to return!
I love this place as someone who enjoys delicious but simple and not too heavy food. Absolutely amazing service every time I’m here. It is nice and quiet atmosphere and I’m always treated nicely! Please never close!
Needed a quiet cocktail with a couple girlfriends…. This was a perfect spot! Gabriel was our bartender/server/ man about town! He made our evening very enjoyable. Friendly and thoughtful with wonderful customer service! You’re an asset Gabriel!!
Nice! Here’s an updated version of your review that includes the burger highlight: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Perfect experience all around! We had an incredible time here—the food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. I had the perfect burger—juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. Everything we ordered was spot on. Highly recommend!
Bottomline: Quality, ambiance and reasonably priced. A gem waiting to be discovered. During a recent family outing, we had the pleasure of dining at Erie Grill for breakfast. The experience was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the stage for a delightful meal. The decor is tasteful and inviting, offering a serene atmosphere that's a cut above the typical chain restaurant. The breakfast options were varied and delicious. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and the quality was evident in every bite. The service was attentive and friendly, contributing to an overall enjoyable dining experience. One of the standout features of Erie Grill is the stunning view. Overlooking the serene river, the restaurant offers a picturesque setting that's perfect for a relaxing meal. It's a refreshing change from the generic ambiance of chain eateries. Overall, Erie Grill delivers exceptional quality and ambiance at a price comparable to IHOP. We would definitely go back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a superior dining experience without breaking the bank. Staff was pleasant too.
Wow!! This place is a secret. Tucked behind a hotel is this five star delight. The menu has so many incredible options we had a difficult time deciding. We ended up ordering the specials (lamb wellington and seabass) so we could come back and enjoy the regular menu options. Everything from the appetizers to drinks was perfection. Excellent pairing of flavors. So impressed! If you're a foodie, give this place a chance!
Great place to treat yourself! Food is delicious and beautifully presented. Servers are awesome- friendly, knowledgeable and on top of everything without being intrusive. They do have gluten free bread and a few gluten free options. There's plenty of parking outside. Definitely make a reservation, even if you are staying at the hotel, because this place is popular with locals as well and there is limited seating. It's on the expensive side, but you would pay about the same for counter service to get a latte and a breakfast sandwich at the coffee shop down the way, so enjoy the great service and better food here instead.
My partner and I had our first date at the EG seven years ago, so in an uncharacteristically sentimental moment, I made reservations for us to eat there this past weekend. (We've eaten there a few times in the interim, but this was our most recent visit, just to clarify.) We've always enjoyed the quality of the service, the overall atmosphere and, until this last visit, the dinner cuisine. The Reader's Digest version: Tasty Old Fashioned cocktail for me, a vodka highball with a barely detectable hint of vodka for her. Very good French Onion soup and good white chicken chili for apps. Our crab cakes were ... fair - not a lot of filler, but a bit bland and underseasoned. Very good carrot cake for dessert, accompanied by very good hot coffee. Now, the cautionary part: If you eat dinner here, I'd strongly suggest you skip the $36 wagyu meatloaf - we agreed it was underseasoned, with an unappetizing texture (dense and chewy, more reminiscent of forcemeat than meatloaf), served with a decent Espagnole sauce that provided badly-needed moisture, and containing a few bits of what I can only surmise was incompletely ground gristle. It really missed the mark, especially at that price, in an otherwise good restaurant. We'll be back, of course - it's not as though this particular meal was the norm in our experience, rather than the exception - but if this was how the wagyu meatloaf is typically prepared and served, it needs work. Our server, Hanna, was professional, efficient and friendly. One other criticism: The dining room chairs are quite short - unless you're a six-footer or taller, prepare for your tabletop to be awkwardly high.
This restaurant is inside the hotel. The service was pretty good except the waitress accidentally threw out our order. So though it’s cool she took accountability, it definitely prolonged the stay unfortunately. The food, or at least what I tried, wasn’t anything to RAVE about but everything was good.
The place was beautiful. We went on a Saturday with a reservation. We had four of the signature dishes. They all were pretty good. If you are looking for American cuisine this is a good place. The waitress who served us was a bit grumpy and we thought may be that because we were Asian. But I think she was not smiling with any of her customers.
We usually have a flawless meal here, but last night, it was lacking a little. The soup was just ok, and the beet salad, which was overdressed in balsamic vinegar, now only has 1 goat cheese medallion 😔 My husband ordered a filet MW, and it was very pink inside, but it was still delicious. The chips with onion dip are simple but fabulous.
Ambience is good, and not too crowded. They have limited menu options. We had pancakes, fried egg sandwich and salmon bagel. Everything tastes delicious. Items are bit pricey, for two members we spent $70 including tip. Place is clean and tidy. It’s beside the erie canal, and the view from the seating is really good. There is a walk way outside beside the canal. May be after food, we can have a little stroll beside the canal. Overall it’s a good experience. Only downside is, it’s pricey.
I tried to book a reservation online and it said there were no openings for that day at all. I emailed the restaurant and they said it was a glitch and then I was able to book a time. However there were barely any times to pick from so I assumed when we did go the restaurant would be packed! Our waitress was amazing, the ambiance was beautiful! Me and my husband both got the filet mingon and the potato’s and asparagus were undercooked with no flavor. The steak had absolutely no flavor at all. The ceasar salad was bland besides the homemade croutons that were good. Our deserts were delicious we had the cheesecake . The restaurant only had 3 other tables filled so I was shocked about that . We also ordered breakfast as room service the next morning . The omelette was way overcooked and dried out with ham chunks set ontop and not cooked into it . The brioche French toast was very bland and dry . Overall the food quality was extremely disappointing! The ambience and staff are wonderful
This used to be our favorite when visiting Pittsford. We've been coming to Erie Grill for over 10 years. The food, the service and the atmosphere was always exceptional. After this last visit we won't back. To say it was horrible experience would be an understatement. I order the duo of crab cakes. ($45) They came out cold. I sent them back to heat them up. They got it right the second time round. The soup was also very good. Next the panko chicken was like dried out plank and burnt on one side. I hate sending food back but it was inedible. The second one wasn't much better. When you spend $200 on dinner it should be perfect. There was no apology, no offer to discount the bill - we didn't even get a good night. All we got was the doors locking behind us and the curtains drawn. It wasn't even late. If you don't want to service customers you shouldn't even open. Thoroughly disappointed 😞No pride in service or food quality. Such a shame.
My first time going here! 12/27/23 9:15AM I came to meet up with a sibling who I haven’t seen in years! What was supposed to be a celebration 🎊 turned out to be a very unpleasant event. I am a former Marriott employee and I made the mistake of assuming that our service would be above & beyond seeing as how this restaurant is at a Marriott property. The food was great! I got the brioche French toast. The waitress was terrible. From the time we arrived to the time we departed Stay away from the red headed, pale skinned, lifeless server. We received no friendliness from her during the entire meal. She did not crack a smile once. We had to ask for water. Her whole attitude came off as she didn’t want to serve us. She was extremely lifeless & put no effort into serving us She came off as just wanting to “get it over with”. We noticed that she perked up a little when she served the table of white people one table down from us. Being a person of color, we notice these things! The other waitress was much nicer and even wisher her table a happy new year. Our server barely told us to have a good day. This experience was absolutely TERRIBLE & I really hope she quits & stops making everyone else miserable with her!! Oh yeah and I don’t know her name cuz she didn’t have a name tag!! The food was great The seats were small!! Not everyone has small little hips. Very uncomfortable!
